I'd really like the new Langrisser game for the 3ds to be localized ;-; Wait. Langrisser? As in... Der Langrisser? They made another one?!

the op not mentioning Ys to begin with is a sin beyond redemption! Everyone should play Ys! I suggest origins if it's your first time playing it. I like chronicles as well but I do NOT suggest that as your first game, it's different than all the others, so even if you do like it it doesn't really let you know if you would like the rest (though I don't see why anyone wouldn't). Click! It must've been the mayor's doing. After all, we all know that he is secretly greedy. Right mayor?

You should probably make your peace with whatever spirit or guardian you follow, though. You know... just in case.

Tiered armory and weaponry forging is always a plus. Maybe you'll need to sacrifice some of the powers you gather in exchange for new weapons? Or perhaps you need to bring back materials for a resident smith? Whether or not in Miriam's room, then certainly it should be in the castle armory!
In fact, I am in favor of a weapon-smith/ armsmaster in the armory aiding Miriam in exchange for... something. What that is, will be up to the developers.

Instead of references to Konami titles, I'd like to see a secret boss battle against a Valkyrie or one of the Nordic Gods/Goddesses. Can you imagine going toe to toe with Frey, Baldr, Loki, or Odin? Each of their battle skill sets would be a wonderful treat, indeed! Unique challenges, and boss patterns, insane health compared to other enemies, mythological impact upon the story itself... With the demons of hell on the loose, it is only a matter of time before divine intervention, correct?
Hmm... speaking of interventions... Maybe a cameo battle from Gunvolt would be nice, too. A bad contract gone wrong, maybe? Or perhaps QUILL sent him on a mission, and he got dragged into this mess?

You have taken a large risk and broken with traditional conventions in your own society to pursue your dreams. While it may only seem as though you were only doing what seemed natural, this was still a very difficult decision to make. Not knowing where you could end up, or how this could impact yourself, or your loved ones... You still took the chance to believe in your dreams. It is important to never forget the emotions you felt when you realized the risk was worth it. Always be willing to do what seems impossible, and always be yourself. Never let your creativity fall victim to we the fans, or to investors. One can only get to create works of art when one becomes free of pressure, free of spirit, and free to express their own ideas.
I salute you, and wish you the best of fortunes in your new endeavors, wheresoever they may take you. May you always find something to uplift your spirits in darker days, and may you continue to find yourself amazed at the wonders of the world! Thank you for believing in us, in your fans. But most of all... thank you for believing in your dream!

I'd beta test, but I don't have a PC powerful enough to run UE4. That said, one can only imagine that there should be other beta tests as well. I'm not sure why there's a lack of console beta testing. Square Enix manages to do this, so I don't see why Inticreates is avoiding it.
Console builds need beta tests as well, and with the console versions getting a digital release, I can't see the logic in gating beta to PC users only.

For me the score is tied between Castlevania: Symphony of the Night's "Dracula's Castle" and Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia's "Sapphire Elegy". A very close second goes to Castlevania: Circle of the Moon's "Awake", however. Best over all track in the franchise though? That goes to "Beginning" (Jazz arrange), from Castlevania: Symphony of the Night!
Cursed Orphan reminds me of the Ys series' of music: "Ys series" "Ys series"
M-motoko... Did... did you say, YS?!*crushes a wall, Batou style*

Wow, there's so many. I'll just make a real quick rough list, so please pardon that!
Game mechanics:
Speed, Structure, DDS (From Circle of the Moon), a wider inventory, large and diverse lands to explore. Challenging extra enemies. Fighting game styled secret attacks (Alucard sword, Claymores, Shield rod, Moon rod, Shield rod and shields,etc.). Joke weapons with drop boosts (Alucart set)! Asthetics:
The backgrounds! Where would we be without the backgrounds and world to explore?
Accents:
The music. Far and by, the music. The melodies set the atmosphere. Tension, excitement, fear, joy... All are conveyed by the music.
Extra:
Character/ enemy animations. Idle animations, little things like Juste's cape, Charlotte's pose, Jonathan's hair flip, Yorik's frustration at having his skull crushed, The owl Knight's expressions. These just add personality to a character that we'd only see a limited view of.
These were always my favorite parts.

Might not be of any importance to the discussion here but one thing I've seen mentioned plenty times before is that in Japan red is associated with the hero. Make of that what you will. Here's where my writer's side confuses you all again. (Sorry in advance!) What defines a hero? It could be that Gebel sees himself as a "hero" in cleansing the world of humanity, or following through with his current actions. He could be seen as a hero by the demons, simply for breaking the barrier between the netherworld and earth, for that matter. You see, heroism is subjective... and like many things with morals, changes with perspective.

We at Operation: Akumajo are happy to offer our support to the Igarashi legacy. While Castlevania was indeed Igarashi's best known work, he has always operated within the constraints of a previously designed universe. Bloodstained will be his personal vision and interpretation of the Gothic era adventure that we have all come to know and love; and as such, it deserves our full support. While we do still wish for a return to traditional 2D platforming for the Castlevania franchise (and for the battle of 1999), we also understand that Bloodstained is going to be a major undertaking, and has unlimited potential for new growth. We wish to see this new universe get the same level of love as Castlevania, and have the same press coverage. Therefore, we will do our best to continue forward with our mission statement, and the goal of creating an IGAvania for all! Good to hear. But are you going to cover any future mobile or gambling Castlvania games that get made? Not asking for those to have as big focus of a focus as Bloodstained or anything, I just think it'd be nice to get info on them just as something nifty to know. To answer your questions... 1.) We desire a return to form. 2D Castlevania games on home consoles. This is our ultimate goal. Unfotunately, this does not include the Pachinslot titles, as they are barely even Castlevania titles. They are merely cinematic cutscenes. 2.) As per the above, we reject the mobile format. ESPECIALLY those with micro-transactions. Castlevania is a beautiful title that belongs on home consoles and personal computers. The inferior hardware of mobile isn't a place for the franchise; and touch screen controls detract from the beauty of the gameplay by rendering part of the screen invisible, all due to the use of touch pads. Small personal addendum... I personally have no objection to Castlevania titles on handheld consoles, so long as the console can run it at full capacity. I do however, like having the option of playing these titles on the go or at home on the big screen. Freedom of choice is a wonderful thing indeed!

These don't exactly sound like healthy business practices, in my opinion. It's little wonder that people are seeking to exit the company.

If Ben Judd and IGA both watch that video...I wonder if they'll consider hiring both Jennifer Hale and Laura Bailey to do some voice-work? I'm not a fan of getting Laura Bailey in on this project. I'd rather the role go to lesser known actors. It leaves less room for expectation, and helps keep the stagnation of her voice from being in every media. People can generally only hit three different spectrum with their voice pitch, and Laura isn't any different. I truly feel that she's not exactly a good fit for the role, comparing her other performances. Her voice is too high. Someone more like Mary Elizabeth McGlynn would be a better call, I think. Her tone fits the demeanor of the character, and the atmosphere of the game. Just listening to her voice samples makes me think she's a good fit. Besides, she's got previous experience as Medusa in the Castlevania franchise. www.behindthevoiceactors.com/Mary-Elizabeth-McGlynn/

All of these are wonderful options, especially Fire Emblem!
A few others that I'd like to see would be Sora no Kiseki: Trails in the Sky, more YS titles, I'd also certainly like to more Dragon Quest titles (especially Yangus Fushigi No Dungeon!), and of course, more "Tales of" titles as well.
Franchises I'd like to see return? Chrono, Suikoden, Lunar, Breath of Fire (NOT in a social media game style), Castlevania (true to form), Mega Man,Ogre Battle Saga,Final Fantasy Tactics (also, not in a social media style), Wild Arms, and Grandia.

There's only three games I can think of at the top of my head: Mother 3, Terranigma, and Seiken Densetsu 3. I know Terranigma got released in Europe, but not the USA. Mother 3 and Seiken Densetsu 3 are on the top of my want list as well. Though both are seriously behind with their localization if we ever had the chance, I don't see why we couldn't get them now, in the age of digital distribution. I know they released earthbound zero (mother, the original) on Nintendo Eshop, so why not release Mother 3 under the title "Earthbound: Next"? There's a lot of potential out there that can inspire new markets, and I'm all for exploring these options. One can never tell what will succeed, unless one dares. The NES was a great example of success against impossible odds, as was Shovel Knight, Super Meat Boy, Xenoblade, Last Story, Pandora's Tower... The list goes on. All a publisher needs to do, is ask. Showcase a bit of gameplay, and let the fans offer their opinions. If it's positive enough to at least break even, I'd say green-light the project. odds are, you'll eventually continue to see demand rise. Which, if it does, you can always get a second printing going. If not, Then it's a lost cause and the developer was right. After all... questions and polls can be a powerful tool, aye?
