Things are looking promising. I remember when some of us spoiled ourselves with the "Forbidden post". I was a little dissapointed with the size of the bestiary looking somewhat small for IGA's Biggest castle. I certainly don't expect the bestiary to be bigger than 120 Enemies, but i am looking forward to see how the team works the enemy placement to make the areas feel like something new.
im not worried about weapons and equipment. pretty sure Bloodstained is the winner. (Portrait of ruin is hard to beat in this one)
Shards? with shard crafting it is hard to imagine the number of shards being smaller than the number of monsters even if not all of them drop shards. can't wait to max all of them.
As for the levels. we haven't seen all of them but i really want to see the water/ice level. all the bosses of curse of the moon but bathin and focalor have been revealed for Rotn and i remember a screenshot of the developers at work. A mean looking fish (bet you its name is going to be forneus) can be seen in one of the screens. I NEED MY FRIKIN ICE LEVEL.
lets not get to excited. Bloodstained is a metroidvania and those can be finished pretty fast. For the veterans i would say it should take like 10-12 hours to beat (with some exploration and character upgrades involved). like 20-25 hours for completionist and 40+ ish for the absurd completionist (maxing all shards in both grade and rank, mastering all weapon skills, maxing Miriam in every posible way ala Order of Eclessia) i WOULD ABSOLUTELY LOVE to be mistaken with this one.

How do you figure that? Especially considering the Kickstarter didn't even include a Nintendo platform initially. likely based on the sales of Curse of the Moon one could think that BRotn and the switch have a love relationship now considering all the support nintendo has given to the game. (getting a spot during the last nintendo Direct and now this demo running on switch) I don't own a switch but i can imagine this game being PERFECT for that console but im sure PC is still the biggest group. but who knows? maybe theres even more switch playes interested in this game than the already high number of ps4 players (xbox is still the lowest) back on topic it would be a disastrous thing if after all this cooperation the switch version ends up with 30fps while the other platforms can run the game with a better performance. now the question is why would the staff release a demo with performance issues and then make it available to the public? maybe something that went wrong during the last minutes?
@huberoz i will bite my own toungue and admit i was absolutely wrong with what i said. other players have also mentioned there was a lot of lag input that was imposible to ignore and made the demo harder.

not defending the demo thing but i watched the video showing that GameXplain guy playing it and i observed the low fps but i also observed that the guy is a terrible player (no exploration, no testing new weapons or equiping new stuff he got from chests, got hit multiple times and got a game over). he even mentioned input lag but to me thats a poor excuse for his terrible lack of skill. I could be wrong though, but i wouldnt get all alarmed because a bad player said he didnt like it.
the question is: should we get worried about a super random demo that nobody was expecting and that is only running in the switch for this specific event? i think not. not even the official staff has mentioned or shown a thing about it.
EDIT: Bla, bla, bla. turns out i was wrong and other players of the demo have also confirmed a huge input lag that made the demo harder.

i never noticed all this madness with buer going for all colors of shards until you pointed it out.
1) What happened to CON BOOST? It is going to be given to another demon or the Shard vanished?
It is still there but it was probably given to a different kind of lesser demon or some non interesting enemy (trash monster).
2) If Buer is a familiar, why when a Buer was killed in the trailer, it turn red, as if it was going to drop a Conjur Shard? Maybe the game has two different types of Buer enemies? (pallete Swap). Or Buer IS NOT A FAMILIAR ANYMORE and it is, indeed, a Conjur Shard? (Miriam summoning it means that Buer is one of those "summon" shards inside Conjur Shards where you summon a demon to do something for a short time?
im willing to bet a bag with 5000G to the next list
Red shard = obatained from buer as a summon buer shard Green shard = has to be crafted using a red summon buer shard + some other random material.
i don't think they will make a palette swap for buer, and decarabia is already in the game (and it looks freakish to the point that it makes me feel really uncomfortable)

Unlocking more info the more you kill sounds like an amazing addition to the formula. Love the idea! Agreed. Final Fantasy XII does this. after killing an enemy a number of times, you unlock the "sage knowledge" that allows you to read additional information about the enemy such as its lore, the posible items you can get from it or a cool story about an adventurer/explorer and how he/she discovered or fought the monster. Some enemies will have large stories that you can only complete by defeating many different types of monsters in a level or monster of the same species. i loved them.

it has been a while since i added my answers to your amazing posts, so im going to take this one i was going to use my trademark blue text but someone already used that first 1) Considering Shards can be upgraded on their rank (picking up more of the same type) and grade (alchemy), what do you expect from leveling up Familiar Shards? Changing their looks? What they do? This question kept my mind busy for a bit. Imagine the posibilities. Maybe they learn new attacks/abilities, or maybe their AI improves. For battle types, i expect them to do more damage and some of them to gain new stuff such as SOTN bats or Shanoa's Owls multyplying.2) Do you expect Familiars to have some sort of personality (like Symphony of the Night ones had) or do you think the game will take the simpler route (like some of Aria/Dawn had). Not really. I think the fairy will have the generic healer personality ("I just want to be able to help you master") but can't say the same for the others. i expect the more monster-like to behave like... monsters
3) How many familiars do you expect Bloodstained to have? For reference, here are some numbers: Symphony of the Night: 5~8 (depending on version) Aria of Sorrow: 2 Dawn of Sorrow: 9 Curse of Darkness: 52 (the game's magic system was completely focused on familiars) Order of Ecclesia: 7 Ugh. Being one of the few peoples that opened that forbidden post we had 1 year ago. I actually know the answer to this question and IGA wasn't kidding when he said there were not going to be that many. i still regret reading that cursed but 100% accurate wall of text.
4) Considering the familiars we know so far, what other kinds / types of familiars do you expect the game to have? Can't really say. the fairy is the healer, thats for sure. but i would expect a Guardian type familiar that can block attacks or take hits for Miriam(don't think we had something like that before). the Golems in COD could do this, but they were intended for combat and were not fully dedicated to protecting the master. they could still wipe the entire room within seconds. i guess the best way to protect you from monsters its by killing them all before they can reach you, right?
5) Any comment on the familiars revealed so far? How do you expect them to be or work? i don't want to be negative but they all look meh and boring to me . Nothing particularly impressive but that buer looks like it can be good for some amazing kills and buerkick montages. looking forward to them.

VO and Localization of text has been long since completed. I believe the game uses Latin American Spanish due to the majority of Spanish speakers falling into that category. Thanks for the clarification! I’m a bit surprised any game would give priority to Latam rather than Spain but I guess the sheer number comparisons can’t be denied. It’s just that I lived through the decades where Spanish speaking ppl from Latam were all but ignored and the select few games we’d get in Spanish were always from Spain so this is why I found this so wonderfully weird and refreshing. It’s still just text though, I’m sure Spaniards will have no problem reading it. Right? this is great news. My brothers won't have a reason to complain about this particular thing that has been bothering them for ever in games like pokemon (although i actually find some of the attack names extremely hilarious " ascuas, falsotortazo, abocajarro" wtf does that mean?) I remember playing Final Fantasy IX in full spanish but it was strangely neutral or i don't really know how to describe it but it really didn't feel that different from Latin spanish and many of the jokes made perfect sense and were easy to understand. whereas the spanish version of FFX...well, i was constantly scratching my head.

Fantastic update! The work this team is putting forward in the graphics department and elsewhere continues to impress. You know you've done your job right when the only complaints you receive are about potential translation errors and fan concerns about mislabeled footage causing a potential CYA situation. WOW, WOW, Hold your horses. what i said its NOT a complaint. it is an OBSERVATION! (the same could be said for Dareka's Comment) it doesn't affect me or the gameplay or my hype for this game in any way, in fact, what i mentioned has nothing to do with the development and the game's visual improvement. I don't see how this qualifies as a complaint. sheez

Very satisfying update. I am really glad to see how this game is constantly getting better. Questionone thing i'd like to point out is that the visual comparison video starts with a line of text mentioning the footage is from the june 2018 demo. im aware that what you demonstrate is how the visuals have improved since the feedback received after the 2018 demo but that fotage its not from 2018. Im certain that footage is from the 2017 E3 Demo. Probably unimportant, but this particular demo was not available to backers and this area + boss were not present in the 2018 beta demo. This is the kind of thing that may look silly to point out, but it creates a bit of confusion and i believe there are some people that can use this against you, refering to it as fraudulent information. (ok im exagerating with that last part but, still!)

On Hollow Knight: I appreciate Hollow Knight's visuals to a point and I do like how Team Cherry operates with the expansion releases and turning a previous expansion into a sequel. I'll even throw in respect for taking a modest kickstarter that didn't raise all that much money in context and making a huge hit out of it.
I'm just not that big on it. I may not be far enough in it, but the amount of psuedo-intellectual anal-cyst videos fellating that game genuinely makes me shake my head. Not "cringe", because I honestly hate that word and what it's turned into. It's not doing much for me due to the combat and the music. I don't like how limp combat feels. It doesn't feel all that satisfying and I think this would be remedied if I could use a different weapon rather than just changing my magic attack. Also, outside of one song, the love for the music legit baffles me. None of the tracks were particularly memorable for me. That's my take on that, but as far as the actual topic I was always fine with the term Metroidvania. The fact that people have so many different criteria for it or even subgenres for it boggles my mind. I remember seeing one of those anal-cyst videos where the guy said that Symphony of the Night wasn't a good example of the genre...but Hollow Knight was. Ok...sure. Fine. I watched that video too. the guy was absolutely biased and fanboying Hollow Knight hard to the point he said that metroid and castle vania SOTN were not the best Metroidvanias to define the Genre... i facepalmed hard, disliked the video, closed youtube and questioned my existance in this universe for like 10 minutes.
offtopic..... i think. Now. i DO NOT HATE HOLLOW KNIGHT it deserves the attention it has because it is legitimately a good game (my opinion) but the amount of praise and mention it gets to the point that other games of the genre have to struggle because they have to compete against it its simply disgusting. Every game is different and each has its own style and features but it looks like that, if that game is not HK then it sucks and doesn't deserve any atention or support. note that im not refering to bloodstained in specific but we have seen some of those HKcreeps coming here to discredit the game we all are waiting to play and try to sell us HK because its "better" Overrated. I cannot disagree that the visuals of that game are beautiful but i have only finished the game once and quited halfway during my second playthrough because i got bored of it. Now that i think about it. I don't hate the game, i hate the fanboys

omg i remember my first time fighting Gascoigne. it was so intense and fun, shooting at each other and moving around like crazy using the trees and tombstones to gain enough distance and try to heal until he releases his inner furry and proceeds to kick your ass. easily my favorite Souls game fight.
If only Miyazaki realized how much we NEED Bloodborne2.

i don't think Konami will be happy with this going available to the public.
the creator of Lecarde Chronicles 1 and 2 actually had to discuss the thing with Konami and in the end they allowed him to continue with his project because about 95% of the assets for his games are original creations and the other 5% are sprites remade from scratch with slight differences. While these amazing animations are original they are still using Konami's Property and if they shut down that unreal engine remake of the first Castlevania with a cease and desist, i imagine they will do the same with this piece of art threatening their masterpiece.
let's hope this game survives.

Valefor doesn't look very good.... The CotM version looks absolutely superior in every way. The colors and textures are hideous. The "floating hands" style fit the boss way better than the "sleeves" or "arms" they added. The coins look horrible the way they clip all over. And the background doesn't even seem to fit the theme in any way like it did in CotM. I hope that it's just a different mode or something. OMG THIS! that was the only thing i legit did not like about that trailer. Valefor's design in Curse is absolutely amazing and i loved it although the fight is pathetically easy. Now in Ritual of the Night his Design he looks SO BAD specially for those colors. I can no longer call him Black hat. Also, im certain that background is Garden of Silence and personally i don't think this bad guy fits in there in any way but i could be mistaken! #JusticeForValefor #BlackisElegant #themsmashcoins
PS. thanks Mr. hyugakojiro

Development is at its peak, we even have an official rating by the ESRB and the dev team is at the bug fixing stage. the game is literally a couple months away after almost 4 years of development. Remaking assets and sudden work on the art direction its very unlikely to happen at this point.
The 2018 demo had so many flaws we even had a strong discussion about the art and graphics downgrade. i absolutely agree with you about how the assets they are using now look simple and less detailed but honestly i don't think thats to bad and we cannot take the 2016 demo to generalize the entire game because all we had was the Galleon minerva. If i recall correctly, we were told that 2018 demo had detail removed and other things lowered in order to allow the game to be played with weaker computers. (or am i making this up?) the thing about the 2018 demo was exploration, crafting, and general testing to get feedback. the lighting was a mess and the textures look wrong and incomplete, that is not a secret or something we the fans can defend, and hence why IGA decided to delay the game to improve that aspect and so far im not dissapointed.
the Galleon Minerva being the first stage you get to see and explore. They Really need to make it look pretty and consistent, and obviously i would prefer a ship with rotten wood or at least actual wood instead of plastic and play doh walls. but we will earn the right to rant about that when we get an actual picture or gameplay of the final build of the game and not just a picture of a random room followed by official staff members telling us that what we see is not final. sadly is not posible for them to please everyone, specially when we as customers don't know whats going on behind the scenes.
must mention that while i prefer how the ceiling and some bricks looked in that 2018 Alchemy room, I honestly think the newest one looks way better. btw mentioning the current look fits in crash bandicoot triggered me hard for some reason.
