I´m feeling regretful, spoiled, guilty and at the same time Excited, happy and tempted to read more, but that is one dangerous wall of text. all i wanted was to know how many enemies were going to be in the bestiary and i ended up reading all the plot bosses and character fights. ......Does anyone here know an effective method to forget something, that does not involve consuming suspicious substances or hitting oneself? I'm desperate.

Don't forget about the controlled by a demon cliche (Gremory) honestly i don't think Johaness will betray Miriam, he obviously knows what happened and may have his reasons to keep it all as a secret but i refuse to believe he is a bad guy. As for Alfred im pretty sure he will get his hands on the book, maybe summon a demon and fuse with it then get killed by someone other than Miriam, also i remember Alfred's voice actor saying he would tell Alfred to watch his back if he had the chance. (spoiler: Alfred dies) Dominique miss bananas hair looks like she will be the character that will support miriam with the HOLY POWER! i don't see her as a posible enemy unless she tries to stop Miriam if she ever goes demonic but Zangetsu is there for that.
leave my boy Johaness out of your evil plot twists >- >

Arsenical I'll let 505 speak on statement itself regarding its timing if they want, but how it's worded in the update is, per IGA: "We were very busy supporting the demo for E3, and we have been working all the way up to today’s release date to try to avoid pushing it back, but we were not quite able to complete the work that needs to be done to make the beta experience a great one for backers". From this, it's meant to me that they did not want/intend to do this delay until just the moment such was announced, unfortunately. I do not believe they were only talking about the "couple of bugs" mentioned earlier in the update here, more the "several adjustments we wanted to make in order to deliver a better beta experience". As far as the beta's intent, the purpose of a beta is to gather feedback on things that need to be fixed/bugs, yeah. However they're going ahead and fixing the things they've already heard about so we're not wasting our and their time telling about things they already know. The idea is of course to get new information. If here on the forum we take in 1000+ bug reports and they are mostly all the obvious things brought to their attention at E3, we may as well have not done the thing. Selfishly too as a moderator myself and being one that will peruse and watch over that exchange, it'd be a shame for all that work to be so fruitless. You are right there. I see your point and honestly what really bothered me was the sudden update, it is my fault for letting the hype rise to much. After thinking about it i see how a buggy demo can be worse than a 1 week delay. Im still disappointed, but i hope the demo makes me forget this incident with its greatness.

I love this game and the team behind it, but this time i think i need to be honest and say what i think even if some people would consider this to be negativity or hate. first of all, i won't even get the chance to play to demo because im no pc gamer, but that doesn't mean i shouldn't be concernerd with this matter. Okay... so you are telling me that the demo that was supposed to come TODAY was suddenly delayed because the team wanted to fix some bugs? isn't the point of the beta testing to find bugs and report them as well as giving feedback? you mentioned they pushed hard to deliver the demo TODAY but they failed and they are delaying it 1 whole week and we get to know about this delay the very same day we were expecting to get the demo? im sorry but i don't buy that. what kind of bug was it that they had to do such a drastic move? was it game breaking? hard to believe it since it made it to the E3. This morning i woke up and before going to work i came to check for updates and couldn't find a thing so i just went to work happily expecting to come back later and find some vids but nope... instead i find sad news. personally i have always tried to be positive about this game and tried to ignore negativity or even criticism but sadly the name Bloodstained keeps getting tarnished with delays and problems with the delivery of the product. sure Curse of the Moon is another story but it is still related to Bloodstained. and with lord IGA hinting the game will probably come in 2019 and not in 2018 as we were told before, the things keep getting more and more suspcious.
its been over half a year now and we still don't have a release date and the hint we got for 2018 its slowly crumbling. i have faith in but with how the things are going it just keeps getting harder to defend this game. I understand that **** happens, but this time i am truly Disappointed

5 / 5 because
1. this is only a stretch goal and look at how good this is! 2. despite bieng a short game, i really had a lot of fun with it more than that i would get from many other games that preach to have over 100 hours of content 3. the soundtrack is incredible!!! i really hope the track for the first 3 levels make it to RotN (im sure the first one will) 4. the level design and the boss design. (valefor please) 5. i never asked for this and now i wouldn't give it back if someone asked me to.
the only flaw for me is the difficulty of some bosses. im not a fan of classicvania games but this little jewel really made me appreciate them more.
btw who's the troll that gave it a 0? i need to whip his ass.

very very happy with the results! particularly the outfit survey. im not a fan of provocative or sexually appealing outfits but i do respect those that want them and their opinions as well. also extremely happy with the result of the backer exclusive content, honestly i was expecting more people voting for exclusive to stay exclusive but im actually surprised that a lot of people considered non backers (then again the survey was open for everyone). and yes, i did read the big disclaimers stating that these results don't guarantee future actions or changes for the game but still, very happy

RichterBthis is actually important and i understand your concerns as personally i share many of them with you. Like you, i'm a little worried for how the things have been looking so far. We haven't seen solid gameplay since the last year with E3 2017 Demo, only small previews of monsters, fashion and visuals but what about gameplay? other than the new buer familiar and crafting system we really haven't seen how the game has improved in terms of playability and the visuals of the environments (this is important). while its easy to understand that the last update was actually intended to talk about the kickstarter closing, that decarabia preview left me with a bit of dissapointment and frustration, because yes!, i understand that maybe it was a WIP showcasing the monster and nothing else but if that wasn't the case then its something to worry about because personally i couldn't see any improvement. My expectations for this game are really really high (5.5million budget + IGA's Experience High) so it is understandable i get to go crazy when i just don't see how much the game has changed in 2 years from that we saw back in 2016 in the galleon Minerva. Honestly i don't think the game gets delayed to 2019, we have been told that the game is indeed coming this year and the next and hopefully last demo is coming out in June just like the E3 and i don't think thats a mere coincidence. Im crossing my fingers and holding my toungue until i watch/play the next demo because that demo is most likely going to be the most accurate representation of the actual finished game so im expecting improvement. to answer your question, i would say the game its about 70% MUSIC - HELL YESVOICE ACTING - HELL YESVISUALS AND ENVIRONMENT - NOT YET (mostly talking about the unsatisfying feel you get when attacking and killing monsters as well as the look of whats going on in the background and why it feels so empty.)GAMEPLAY - YES BUT NOT YETall we can do is wait..... and play the hell out of curse of the moon because it looks awesome >_>

this is surprisingly good, no matter how much they can butcher the castlevania frachise they just can't mess up when it comes to remixing the soudtracks of previous games.
1. Opening theme. call me crazy but i can hear Bloodstained theme vibes into this one. 2. Beggining. good as always, theres like 6 official versions of this track and its awesome. 3. Cross your heart/ Crucifix held close. this one rocks! wish i had this one for harmony of despair. 4. Research headquarters. pretty sure this is the exact same track used in Lament of innocence for Rinaldo's shop. never expected to listen to something like that in this game. 5. Dracula appears. so, they turned Aria of sorrow chapel track into an amazing intro version for Mr.Vlad? that caught me offguard.
so far so good. not dissapointed but... sigh.. konami.

Warp room tickets! you can only use warp room for free to teleport to the village/checkpoint. however for $2.00 you can buy warp room tickets that will allow you to travel to any of the warp rooms you have discovered! Speed up your game and forget about backtracking!

nice little update. i usually fanboy this game but this update in particular felt a bit dissapointing. i must agree with Pure Miriam about the quest system and village looking WAY to similar to the things we saw in Order of ecclesia and while i don't think thats a bad thing, honestly, i would prefer something more original. DECARABIAOkay im not a game developer or designer but to my eyes that decarabia looks boring. i understand that you guys are trying to make the demons look more realistic or maybe even accurate to the Ars goetia but i really hope that decarabia isn't final (if it is, well then. No game can be perfect) its death animation looks unimpressive and to simplistic and... Fine! i wanted this , not that ugly humanoid freak. okay thats the first monster that dissapoints me but theres other 100 so yeah! thanks for the update. RIP

AH! im heavily interested in this! (at this point, you should be getting paid for your posts.) 1) At some games, bestiary was a item obtained in-game in order for enemy information to be acessed. Would you like of Bloodstained also worked like that? If yes, what such item would be? A Key item? A Skill Shard? Something else? An item obtained from Johaness or from Dominique with a little dialogue involved, it would make a lot of sense and it would add a bit to bloodstained lore.
2) Aside from the basic information that all bestiary from all Castlevanias had in the past (such as HP, level, EXP given, drop and shard drop, weakness and resistances, and enemy picture) would you like some additional information at the bestiary? Such as enemies parameters (STR, CON, etc) or something else? i don't expect the game to have all 72 demons for different reasons and we already know that there will be many monsters that are not demons from the Ars Goetia. If theres something i want to see, that would be an actual monster lore or story and not just 2 lines of text that most of the time end up describing what we can already see such as: Man Eating plant - A plant that has a taste for human flesh. <--- no sh*t take a look at the FFXII Bestiary, something like that + all the enemy data we had.
3) How do you want Shard information to be shown at the bestiary BEFORE picking up such shard? Do you think it would be cool if the enemy shows some teasing information about it's drops and shard? For instance, instead of unknown drops being shown as a bunch of "??", it could be shown as something different, like "?? (weapon)" just for you to know, in advanve, what that drop would be. And / or maybe Shards could reveal their type before being picked up (instead of unknown shards being "??" they would be "?? (Trigger)" or "?? (familiar)". Or do you think such teasing would break a bit of the surprise?
It should stay secret. its always fun to try to imagine what the shard is going to be like and sometimes its really troll when you see its a yellow shard that raises your stats or resistances and not the actual beam of massive destruction that the enemy used against you.
4) Would you prefer if the bestiary shows a basic screenshot of the enemy, some fancy artwork, a 3d animation, maybe a cam where you can see enemy in detail or something else? animated with zoom in option would be more than enough for me, honestly i care more about the enemy data and the artstyle of the bestiary.
5) Bloodstained bestiary should be easily acessible from the menu, only at the game's shop / Johannes lair or some other kind of acess?
pretty sure we will get that chance to open it whenever we want from the menu in the "Archives" option.
6) Symphony of the Night, IGA's biggest game, had 146 enemies. How much enemies do you expect Bloodstained (that had the "IGA's biggest castle" stretch goal achieved) to have?
120 or less
its important to mention that most castlevania games had large bestiaries because they reused assets (sprites) several times in almost every game and that saved a lot of time and other resources. bloodstained its a completely new IP and all monsters need to be modeled from scratch, even if we talk about "familiar monsters" the devs still have to make them look different than those we saw in previous igavanias.
not only reused sprites but also palette swaps or small modifications, now i think we are going to have this in bloodstained as well, in the 2016 demo we got to see (amy) an actual demon from the Ars goetia but "recently" we got the previews of the new buer familiar attacking a "ghost" monster that looks exactly like amy but it is red instead of blue.
now as for the 72 demons of the king Salomon honestly i don't think we get to see all of them for the following reasons: - Many of them look a like. whats up with demons and lions? several of them are described to have similar aspect. unless the developers find an amazing way to make every single demon look unique without wandering to far from the actual lore, i don't see this happening. - Not all demons are actually evil or beastly - Some of them are... uninteresting? theres those that are important kings, presidents, dukes and theres those that are plain boring.
as for the other monsters, we have seen other interesting ideas such as the elementals and armor knights (they are back) and im almost certain that they are going to add monsters and beasts from other mythologies such as Arachne o Ctulhu.
no matter how many of these evil bast... we get, the more the merrier and im so ready to kill them 100+ times for that one item/shard missing in my bestiary.
Amazing thread as always

To have Miriam in smash it would be a miracle that would make me extremely happy. I always wanted to see a Belmont or Alucard in smash but we never got the chance (i loved snake in brawl). smash is always full of surprises, they made my day when they added Lucario in brawl (favorite pocket monster and favorite videogame/anime character overall) and they made me scream like a girl when i saw Cloud in Sm4sh (not my favorite ff char but to see final fantasy in smash now that was mindblowing). i don't own a switch and im not planning to since they are way to expensive in Latin america but if the next smash comes up with Miriam then im going to have to sell my kidney or get some dirty money to get the game.... again. But like the others said if we were to expect and indie character in smash that would have to be Shovel Knight. ALSO please KILL SON GOKU! his fandom is just ugh! G0ku strungest charactur eva! he can solo all smash characters bla bla bla....

they got Shanoa! im sold! take my money konami! Nah that won't ever happen.
in my personal opinion the game is not that bad and it uses the same type of merchandise that other 1000 games use nowdays. for what i've seen so far the models look decent, the gameplay isnt that complex and the AI is actually challenging (then again this could be used as a way to make players buy boosts or power ups) its not as greedy as MGS and they will be adding more characters over time like they did with HoD.
the bad stuff: well, its Konami... thats a huge risk on its own, the game is supposed to be a gothic style but many of the HUD and displays/pop ups whatever you want to call them look terribly odd for a gothic game. the stages aren't that long and currently there aren't many things worth of your time or replayability.
if it comes to the west i might end up playing it not going to lie but they wont get a penny from me. it looks fun for something casual but nothing to interesting to go full hardcore like FF Brave Exvius.

And here i am still hoping lord IGA gets the Castlevania IP to develop the game featuring the great demon war and how it ended in 1999 after the young Julius belmont and other people sealed Dracula's castle inside of an eclipse.
there were several games after Aria of sorrow and none of them explained the Demon war thing, my guess is that IGA wanted to do something big with that and saved the idea for a major project like a huge 2D game for potent consoles.

oh don't worry i hardly take things to personal but you are right, i should have been more specific when i talked about the gaming community being toxic, i apologize. like i said: thats a thing for a different topic. then again release dates are always a dramatic thing, maybe you don't see it here but out there you can find a lot of people and sites that are hungry for that particular kind of information and bloodstained has already been victim to that where a small mistake caused several people to believe the release date was coming in the march KS update and then you have twice the amount of people thinking there was another delay for xy reason and that generates a negative image of the game and its developers. as someone that loves to read news and articles about videogames and technology i can tell you that Indie games have it hard. its a very crude and vague way to say it but for whatever particular reason AAA games are mostly worshipped almost as if they were paying writers to say that, while indie games developed by small companies are criticized for almost every single detail. youtubers are even worse because well... youtube. (all you need to do is to read the comment box to lose faith in hummanity) so i cannot take them seriously specially when theres people praying that games like Blasphemous play and look more like SOTN than Bloodstained because of 2D Pixel Art but unfortunately theres people that actually believes that and the game loses potential chances to become a big selling hit. i would lie if i say something such as; "I don't care what people thinks about the game i like" Because i do care and if bloodstained happens to be a big hit then chances are we will get another amazing game. Back to the main topic... Bloodstained: Ritual of the night COMING SOON™ 2018

i don't unerstand why is everyone making so much drama about the release date. my guess is the haters just want more chances to say some stupid stuff such as: MN9.2 or the Kickstarters curse is real... and like Enkeria said, the press and the gaming media says nothing but stupid things it like they try really hard to destroy indie games as it is a pretty common thing to see them highlight the flaws and mistakes of the game so i expect to read lines such as "looks like the game is getting another delay" instead of "the game is almost ready and its going to be great" the gaming community is extremely toxic these days but thats the talk for a different topic. NOT ME! i would love to play it on halloween. think about it. to play a game about demons, magic and curses during one of the festive days that bases on very dark rites that involve demons and monsters? Sure! and with the Bloodstained soundtrack at max volume it sounds even better! but christmas? i don't know playing a game about demons and darkness during the holiest holydays with the family gathered and everyone singing christmas stuff. eh, it wouldn't be satisfying and i wouldn't be able to run away to play in peace. also a big part of my family is actually super religious so if i say something like: oh im going to go play Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night . my grandma is going to have a looooong chat with me. either way the game is coming in 2018 and thats all i need to know.
