actually, what if the equipped ammo could be swapped or used through a special attack? say sonic boom/hadouken uses your equipped ammo and normal attack is the infinite, then you dont have to worry about using up your finite ammo on things like candles and weak enemies, but you dont have to menu constantly to swap back to infinite, and if there is a doppelganger relic this frees up your second equipment set for melee or a different ammo type

i think yeah, the whip being slow when its actually the second fastest weapon on the list irl (remember whips break the sound barrier, only the gun can exceed that) creates an odd frame of reference, i think maybe an extra frame of animation lock on the greatweapons is all it needs but the whip needs speeding up and perhaps a slightly higher forward hitbox to accomodate its huge blindspot around miriam (it does have a bonus though in that it can hit behind you)

if that stays in i foresee rng manip runs where they try to force the shorter of the animations first to minimize downtime due to animation lock

adding in an audio option for battle grunts as opposed to dialogue could be a way to fix this without affecting the volume of cutscenes and the opening narration

i cannot stress how much i LOVE that the fighting combos are back for special moves, it was a bit muddy in sotn due to magic, subweapons and superjump using the same system, but now that magic and subweapons have been moved to the shard system and superjump could be its own button or continue on as [down up jump] those input specials are in a perfect position to really shine

actually im betting loot falls through due to the chandelier physics making the bounding box clip into the loot bag, this MAY be fixed by moving the loot spawn point up a few pixels but id need a frame by frame comparison to do more than just guess

not really cheap, just this is a beta demo, not everything is in, not everything is enabled, i would actually encourage everybody to post their pc specs in a thread and what kind of framerate theyre getting so they can get a snapshot of where they need to be in terms of graphics options

theres actually extra options for the minimap, you can turn it off or even make the minimap nearly invisible and take up the entire screen, hit x when youre in the map screen

CastleDan maybe thisll give you hope that some of those colorful lighting effects are in but just turned off, theyre present in the latest trailer, theres also some areas that have more shadow depth and look really nice

im agreeing with you actually, im simply torn on the fix for this because i dont have an idea of the color scheme of the rest of the game, if this area being gray is precisely what sets it apart from the rest of the game you then need a light touch on adding color as an accent, if its not then the previous method of giving it more oranges and blues akin to earlier versions of the room would really give it that early game wow factor

this could either be through opening the map and hitting lt or rt to go to player settable menus or through mapping 2 menus to buttons since we have a few extra atm (this may change in final game as more relics/actions are added), that way you could set them to quest and bestiary if youre completing a task or searching for a specific item, or weapon and shard if youre progressing through the game, and it could be a boon to speedrunners to cut down on menuing without creating a situation akin to binding a potion to lt and can spam heal from within the gameplay itself

i think a little bit of ambient sound playing every so often could keep the creepiness and atmosphere intact while not letting it get old, an occasional rustling or creak of wood, howl of wind, things that allude to there being things out there you cant see but are actively hunting you

i actually couldnt break the floor in the village but ive been looking for them using sliding, does slide hitbox just not get low enough to trigger breakable floors?
also if the roof collapsing is what creates the hole then the 2nd floor is bugged in that it doesnt always break, the roof fell on it and didnt break it

actually it doesnt unequip every head piece, the hairband and aries horns stay equipped with the mask but the pirate and doge hats get unequipped
