Killing an enemy in a way that makes them drop an object near a wall/ledge, or even in midair sometimes, makes it impossible to pick up the item even if you are walking right over it. The item appears to be stuck in it's "falling down" sprite and doesn't register that it has hit the ground, requiring you to wait until the item basically "times out" and auto-collects. i.imgur.com/5EJhAbn.jpgi.imgur.com/OIaY1Nd.jpg

I've had this happen too. I killed a seaman during the climbing animation on the boat and the item was stuck in the floor. also with ghosts their items get stuck on edges of platforms and sometime can't open the bag either.

Same here, happens mostly with bats and frogs since they can get closer to wall corners.

It’s a bit discouraging when I read this kind of stuff. Glitches are a given at this stage of development, but amateurish stuff from the 16-bit era like objects dropping out of reach leads me to wonder how ready this game really is. I don’t mind, as long as this all gets sorted out by launch.

not amateurish, stuff like this can happen at any stage of development in every game, and different game designs/engines need different ways to fix this, from moving the spawn point to doing a scan for closest available platform, the fact that were catching these things in the beta is great because it means they have time to find solutions for the final game
so dont be discouraged, the betas doing its job

There is a semi-fix already in the game. If an item isnt picked up after a certain amount of time, you get it automatically. I havent noticed a range limitation on it so long as you are in the room. Both a good and a bad thing in my book.
Good since it is helping with the stuck item problem, and bad since it can make farming some items much much faster when using some shards that travel the length of a hallway.

i fail to see why faster farming is a bad thing, though i can see it interfering with speedruns that rely on specific drops for ACT, rng manip or quick menuing

You are right in that for a singleplayer game it isnt such a bad thing.
That said, it can make the game much easier once you realize you can do it. Does it swing it too far in that direction or not is up to the devs to decide. For a game like this, especially with how rare and a pain some items can be to get, yeah, it definitely speeds up things in a nice way.
