Bestiary. Among many things that Symphony of the Night did to the Castlevania games, was the creation of a bestiary. A list of all the game's monsters, with their data and information. From Symphony ownards, some changes and modifications happened, addition of information and the introduction of certain things. Just as a remind, here's a quick summary of how bestiary worked in the past, among all Igavania games: Castlevania: Symphony of the Night: The first bestiary on Igavania games. Can only be acessed at the game's shop. Shows enemy picture, level, Health, drop information, EXP given, among other basic information. Something interesting is that the EXP given is almost useless, thanks to Symphony of the Night's EXP degradation system (where EXP given is lowered as Alucard levels up). A trivia about SOTN's bestiary is that there are enemies strong to water, although absolutely nothing in the game gives water damage. Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance: the main differences is that in HOD, you need to pick up a relic called "Monster Tome" to be able to see the bestiary and the bestiary itself (called Encyclopedia) can be seen at the game's menu. EXP information is also useless on HOD since the game also uses the EXP degradation system. That was abandoned on all subsequent games. Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow: enemies are animated on the bestiary, and the game offers information about soul collection. Since Soma has the Soul Dominance power (can pick up enemies souls to use as powers), the bestiary shows a square called "soul" that will be marked if the enemie's soul was obtained, alongside darkening the enemy's name at the list. Castlevania: Lament of Innocence: the bestiary shows how much enemies were defeated at each entry. Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow: you can see the bestiary at the upper screen of the DS, how much souls you got from each enemy and the soul rarity (how hard it is to make it drop). Castlevania: Curse of Darkness, Portrait of Ruin and Order of Ecclesia: more or less the same of other games, but bestiary is a "skill" obtained at Curse of Darkness. Considering how bestiary worked in the past, answer these QUESTIONS and discuss about Bloodstained's bestiary! 1) At some games, bestiary was a item obtained in-game in order for enemy information to be acessed. Would you like of Bloodstained also worked like that? If yes, what such item would be? A Key item? A Skill Shard? Something else? 2) Aside from the basic information that all bestiary from all Castlevanias had in the past (such as HP, level, EXP given, drop and shard drop, weakness and resistances, and enemy picture) would you like some additional information at the bestiary? Such as enemies parameters (STR, CON, etc) or something else? 3) How do you want Shard information to be shown at the bestiary BEFORE picking up such shard? Do you think it would be cool if the enemy shows some teasing information about it's drops and shard? For instance, instead of unknown drops being shown as a bunch of "??", it could be shown as something different, like "?? (weapon)" just for you to know, in advanve, what that drop would be. And / or maybe Shards could reveal their type before being picked up (instead of unknown shards being "??" they would be "?? (Trigger)" or "?? (familiar)". Or do you think such teasing would break a bit of the surprise? 4) Would you prefer if the bestiary shows a basic screenshot of the enemy, some fancy artwork, a 3d animation, maybe a cam where you can see enemy in detail or something else? 5) Bloodstained bestiary should be easily acessible from the menu, only at the game's shop / Johannes lair or some other kind of acess? 6) Symphony of the Night, IGA's biggest game, had 146 enemies. How much enemies do you expect Bloodstained (that had the "IGA's biggest castle" stretch goal achieved) to have? That's all folks! This thread was created based on Cale request on a discussion about bestiary.

I like infinite monster spawing on Igavanias. Be it zombies, medusa heads and other things. Since some enemies in Bloodstained are equivalent / substitutes from Castlevania original ones, i expect some of them to behave the same way, like Morte (substitute for zombie) and Dullahammer Head (substitute for medusa head), so, no problem, for me.

Wow, so many great ideas here. paulwawg man, you mixed dinosaurs and dragons, how in hell could something like that not work? It would be awesome, and, as TV tropes says, "rated M for Manly". AlexamenosAshava you are not only a writer, but, considering your idea, a creative one too. Your combination of genres is really interesting. I wonder how that would turn out. SOSU i guess nothing beats a classic huh? DOOM 2016 was a great game because it used some modern FPS elements mixed in with it's own classic roots. Something like you mentioned, if followed such route, would be a blast. XombieMike Your idea is basically a collective metrodivania castle building. That's really creative, imagine the endless possibilities! I was thinking, it would be even more awesome if people could collectively built a single castle, adding rooms and layouts, with a online vote system where a room with negative voting could vanish. It would be a really hard mechanic to make all that work, but it would be awesome. Enkeria i'm really sorry for your mom. That is something i think many developers fails to make too, special games for people with health problems or disabilities. If i could create a game, i would try my hardest to make such adaptabilities. Galamoth that is a really well-detailed idea. Saga Frontier is a great, underrated game with such a interesting setting and such freedom to explore and play, that anything remotely like that would surely catch my eye. I really loved your characters, i can even picture them in my mind. I love to draw, although i'm not good at it, i would love to try drawing them. Elfina Ashfield a horror game with a NES-like pixel art? Count me in on playing that. Ghalion: the best idea there for me is the dungeon crawler one. I had a similiar idea once, good call. Now, wanted to share my idea(s). None of them has names, so, i'm just calling them what they are.
I'm a bit like IGA in terms of how i would develop a game. I usually think about the gameplay before the plot. So, most of my ideas are richer on gameplay elements than plot elements. Here you go: 1) METROIDVANIA LIGHT AND DARKNESS A Metroidvania / Igavania game, in 2d (2.5d) set in a fantasy world with real-life elements (but it isn't our world, nor our time). The main character would be a engineered supernatural female creature, a tragic monster forged by unknown people for a unknown purpose. She would be a half-angel, half-demon woman and her main ability would be absorbing life essence of all creatures. Every single creature in the world, be it humans, angels, demons, monsters, has a good side and a evil side. By killing a monster, you have a chance to absorb it's life essence. That would fly towards you and when you absorb it, you MUST choose between light (good) and dark (evil).Kinda like Soul Dominance / Shard system, each enemy would have two powers to be obtained, and you must choose one when you get it (farming would do nothing. What you choose cannot be changed). She would wake up inside a large dungeon, locked at the deepest floor and would have to find her way to the surface, with that being the game's "castle / map". The game flow would reveal who created her, what was their purpose, why she is locked and the ending would change depending on your powers. More holy powers would be one ending, more darkness powers would be another ending and a perfect balance between them (the hardest to achieve) would wyeld a third ending. 2) INFINITE DUNGEON CRAWLER
A turn-based dungeon crawler RPG, 3d, with some unique elements in a basic fantasy setting. Most of the world is controlled by a tyranic leader and his invincible army of demons and monsters and he locked up any force opposing him at the world's biggest dungeon, a fantasic, colossal dungeon that legends says it may be infinite. You would start the game creating a pary consisting of 6 characters, choosing classes. All of them starts at level 1, inside the same cell at the dungeon, with absolutely no gear and no itens whatsoever. The classes would determine what gear they can use and skills they can learn. Learning skills would require finding itens from drops. The classes would be divided between the four basic roles of most RPGs, they would be: DPS (Damage dealer): Warrior (focused on single-target, physical damage), Archer (focused on multi-target physical damage), Barbarian (focused on rage skills, the lowest it's health, the most powerful it is), Monk (unarmed specialist, unarmed damage grows steadily to match the best weapons of other classes). Nuker (spread damage specialist): Mage (multi-target magic damage), Sorcerer (debuffer specialist), Summoner (the only one capable of summoning creatures to fight alongside the party), Warlock (single-target highest damage mage specialist). Healer: Cleric (focus on healing magic), Alchemist (focus on creating healing itens from materials and magic damage). Tank:Paladin (focus on healing and armor boost), Champion (focus on gearing for the best defense). The game flow would be a semi-random semi-rogue-like game where you would play, kill enemies and try to reach the surface. Your main goal is to reach the surface after crossing 99 floors that are semi-randomly generated with some fixed ambiance, challenges and puzzles. Additional hidden, random-generated party members would be place semi-randomly between the floors to be found. Death would be permanent, and the game would have auto-save features. The MOMENT a character dies, the game would automatically save during the battle to prevent you from trying to get away from that. The max number of party members on battle would be 6. Any reserve member would receive 80% of EXP on each battle. After finishing the game, you would unlock a new game+ where you can play again with the surviving characters with enemies being harder and giving more experience. Each time the game finishes, the next new game+ would have enemies harder and giving more EXP, and that would repeat again and again until the upper limit of the game's numbers (when all enemies are 99999(...) on everything). The max number of party members would be 12. You start the game creating 6, if you manage to finish with less than 6, you can create more to compensate, (but they will show up at LV1), but if you finish the game with more than 6, you can't do that. The game will also not spam random party members on map if, at any time, your party is already 12. 3) ECCHI-SEXY-FILLED HACK-AND-SLASH GAME TO MOCK SOME PEOPLE
Inspired by Masou Gakuen HxH. A hack'n slash game, quite like Bayonetta / DMC. The game would be futuristic, in a post-apocalyptic world where a unknown force from apparently other dimension, composed of robots, machines and powerful human females with skimpy armors, completely oblitterated most of the world and it's continents. The resistance against such force was able to steal their technology and used that to genetically engineer human females to use the same powers as they have to oppose them. The game would have female characters on skimpy, overly sexy high-tech armors, with some of them resembling maids, nuns and other kinky clothes. A main feature of the game would be the "Male Gaze cam". That feature is divided between two instance: Male Gaze Cam Moment and Male Gaze Cam Mode. Male Gaze Cam Moment: During battle, if you do exceptionally well at your flashy combos, the game would enter in a slow-down and show your character performing her combo like a ecchi-anime does with their cam (focusing on breasts, bottom, thighs and such). When that happens, it shows "male gaze cam" at the bottom of the screen, and you gain bonuses on EXP and drop rate from the enemies you killed and achieved the Male Gaze Cam moment. Male Gaze Cam Mode: You could also activate a Male Gaze cam yourself, where the cam would be locked at the character's body (with you choosing where, betwene breasts, bottom, crotch or thighs, and you can switch whatever you want) with a small square at the right side of the screen showing off a grid-like 3d map and position of where you are and enemies, as an added challenge to play the game like that. You would gain bonuses on EXP and drop rate by playing at that mode (only from enemies you started and finished while using Male Gaze Cam Mode).
Those are my ideas. Hope you like them.

taburisu I completely understand your concern and i wanted to share two cents of my view on all of this. I am like you, i also hate when a game suffers censorship due to some form of political agenda. I know both of us saw this happening before and it is still happening nowadays. Some examples include: 1) A overly controversal game from Illusion, a company based on eroge games (not gonna say the name here, nor show a picture, because the forum is NSFW free) that was released on 2006, was, somehow found out at 2009 by the media and causes a huge ruckus to the point Illusion had to step in and say that their games "aren't intended to the western market".
Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 2) Dead or Alive Xtreme 3, that simply will not have any kind of release outside Japan because the company realized that the western world would reject the game due to it's theme. They recently said that there are no plans for it, and no plans for Dead or Alive in the western world, outside fightning games.
Rainbow Mika slapping her ass during her special move. Remove due to being too "male gaze". 3) Capcom changing Street Fighter V camera angles during some moves of Rainbow Mika and Cammy, to hide their bodies and make them the cam "less male gaze". 4) Recently, steam greenlit a game called "The Key to Home" and then gave up on publishing it, saying the game was trying to "cater paedophiles". The game has no sexual content whatsoever. It's a visual novel with children and "eye candy" pictures that can't even be considered "ecchi".
Tera Online censorship. 5) Tera Online, a MMORPG, had one of it's races, that looks like a child, censored on ALL her clothes and armos, with shorts and tops added to all of them, to conceal her body. 6) A (now dead) MMORPG called Scarlet Online, a ecchi/sexy focused MMORPG, had one of it's classes censored because she was deemed too "childish".
Fatal Frame 5 alternative costume. Doesn't exist at the western release. 7) Fatal Frame 5 banned two alternative costumes (that are basically bikinis) from the western release of the game. They were changed by cosplays of Samus and Zelda.
It baffles me and it is actually funny to watch such discussions, from a political point of view. People against what they call as "Sexism" in games, usually claims to be liberals, without even realizing that such actions are absurdly conservative and puritan, getting closer to their political enemies than they think. Such censorship really pisses me off and i couldn't agree with you more on that. Now, i do have my reasons to believe in Angel-Corlux when he says they aren't censorshiping themselves. And that is due to some points i remember in the first discussions of the game:
Miriam artwork and graphics comparison. She was almost flat-chested in her artworks. 1) When Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night started to show it's first pictures and rendering, the first thing many people complained was that Miriam's breasts was bigger than her artwork. That is true and if you take a look at the first set of arts and her graphics, her breasts are really bigger. At the time, the dev team said her proportions were "adjusted" to make her seen easier on screen and to better show the crystal motiff at her breast. They ddidn't changed that yet. 2) When Dominique was revealed, some people complained she was a "sexy nun" and a "blatant sexist character" to appeal to some people. She is tall, has big breasts (bigger than Miriam), pantyhose, legs for show, etc. She wasn't changed at all. 3) Bloodless was revealed completely naked inside a blood bathtub. When she gets up, you can see most of her naked backside. By fightning against her, she loses her dress and gets "almost-half-naked" during the fight. It seems she wasn't changed (except for China, that is a dictactorship and thus, works completely different from democracies).
Now, Vepar was a huge cause of discussion at the time. The colors was indeed changed to look better, but yes, her breast reduction did bothered me. Since they didn't change everything else i mentioned, i am, for now, "believing" in Angel-Corlux words, because i do think some of the elements i mentioned above are indeed "worse" than that for some people (such as Miriam's looks herself) and wasn't changed. So i think we can trust, for now, that they aren't censoring themselves. I don't agree to you, taburisu on adding some kind of "censorship" option to the game, because considering what they are doing, wouldn't had a reason for it. But I DO AGREE with you on how awful it is when an artistic vision are censored and, most laughable of all, by people claiming to be "progressive" being as much conservative as they can be. I don't know if you agree to me, but i think my examples above do speak to myself, when i say i have the same worries as you, but i still think they aren't doing such censorship for Bloodstained. Not yet, at least.

Same. Demon. Pixels. "It". or "A thing". Not a he nor a she. Although i do understand what you mean, you need to understand that to several people (me included), the symbolism of art and the real life is not so that apart. The drawing, pixelation or representation of a woman, and a real woman, are both "women" to the eyes of many. By the way, the way you view things is quite rare. Most people sees representations and art and the real thing as the same thing. They / we know they aren't, but consider them as much.

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night's kickstarter had a new update, (see the update HERE, and the thread about it HERE), regarding a extensive survey the dev team is doing to improve their communication and receive feedback about several important matters. Alongside mandatory and basic questions, some questions there shows some kind of really interesting information. They warned us that the survey doesn't necessarily means that everything there will show up in the game. But who knows, right? Considering that, although there were other interesting options, the main ones would be regading game's content. So, here comes my traditional thread of questions about updates, this one, greatly tuned thanks to the survey itself. Hey guys, keep in mind that if you would prefer to keep your answers confidential, giving answers here (especially to #15) will pretty much make it obvious who was who if you are worried about that. Just wanted to mention it, no one is going to maliciously use your data or something!(thanks purifyweirdshard for that warning) I also add that you don't need to answer anything you wouldn't like to! The Dev team proposed / suggested alternative outfits. The options were Valkyrie (Armored), Angel, Demon, Succubus (provocative), Vampire (Elegant), Nun, Maid, Corrupted (fully overtaken by the curse), Bikini / Beachwear, Outfits to match existing accessory sets and Other. The questions below are regarding that.Lightning (Final Fantasy 13-2) as a Armored Valkyrie 1) Regarding Valkyrie (Armored) option. The "armored" there means that it isn't a "sexy" Valkyrie, but a full armored one. Would you like to see a version of such outfit, that is more sexy and provocative than warrior-like?
Shanoa with Volaticus Glyph 2) Regarding Angel and Demon options. If miriam had such outfits, would you like if they somehow altered some powers, visually speaking? Like, if Miriam had the ability to fly by creating wings (such as Volaticus Glyph on Order of Ecclesia) she could have default black wings, but angel wings wearing Angel outfit and demonic wings wearing Demon outfit. Keep in mind that, game development requires resources (both money and time) and do something like that would require more programming and resources.
Shanoa's werebat form in Order of Ecclesia. Completely naked.
3) Regarding Succubus (provocative) option. How much "provocative" would you like such outfit to be? Like Symphony of the Night's Succubus or going steps further, maybe such as Werebat form from Order of Ecclesia (that is basically naked, maybe Miriam would have strategically placed long hair, wings or legs and cam position to hide spots). 4) Regarding Vampire (Elegant) option. How would you like to see that? As a "modest" form of Succubus? Maybe a long elegant dress like Carmilla from older games? Or maybe a female version of Alucard's attire? 5) Regarding Nun and Maid options. Such options are blatantly based on kinks and fetishes. Would you like, if such outfits existed, to follow the traditional kink role (short skirts, garterbelt, pantyhose, cleavage) or to go a step into the modesty zone and actually use real-life versions of such clothes? 6) Regarding Corrupted (fully overtaken by the curse) option. Do you believe such option means that we will not have a corrupted version of Miriam to play with? That will not happen at the game's plot? Or the option being there is a way for the dev team to actually DODGE such speculations?
Dead or Alive 5 bikini
7) Regarding Bikini / Beachwear option. As stated above, such option is clearly a kink / fetish option and this one would be even harder to conceal as something else. If such outfit existed in game, would you prefer it to be something clearly risky (such as Dead or Alive 5 bikinis), something not so risky but quite taboo (such as japanese schoolgirl swimsuit) or something classic and elegant (such as old swimsuits, that looked like full body suits)? 8) Regarding Outfits to match existing accessory sets option. The game has shown quite a lot of outfits already, such as Bunny ears/stockings, Maid Headress, Elven Ears, Spiked Hair, Sunglasses, Panama / cowboy Hat and Santa Hat. Considering such accessories, would you like to see some of them having outfits to match them? Choose some. 9) Regarding "Other" option. Did you picked up such options? What have you offered as suggestion for outfits? One of the questions is regarding DLC content. The options where Cosmetics / skins etc, More playable characters, Full story content expansions, Full multiplayer & co-op for existing game, Mod support / Castle editor and Other. The questions below are regarding that.
Bunny accessories 10) Regarding Cosmetics / skins options. Almost every game nowadays, offers such option as DLC, because many players consider them to be something not mandatory for a game. Even so, there had some criticism in the past about the overload of cosmetics DLC (Dead or Alive 5 Last Round, being a good example, all DLCs of the game, if bought separately, costs more than the game itself). What are your thoughts regarding that?
Zangetsu 11) Regarding More playable characters option. Most speculation about Bloodstained's three playable characters revolve around Miriam (mandatory), Zangetsu and Dominique. Let's assume for a second they will really be the game's default playable characters. If the game ends up having a playable character as DLC, who would you choose to be? (excluding Miriam, Zangetsu and Dominique). 12) Regarding Full story content expansions option. This is, by far, one of the most infamous and unpopular options in gaming DLCs. Many players consider that expanding a game's plot through DLC is a cheap way of money farming. But some players see it as a great way to expand a game's content and keep it alive. What are your thoughts about this? 13) Regarding Full multiplayer & co-op for existing game option. What do you think this option really means? Putting multiplayer and co-op options from the stretch goals as DLC, or expanding such content by DLC? 14) Regarding Mod support / Castle editor option. Although many players would surely love that, by offering official mod support and / or castle editor options, there is a chance that this could actually hinder such possibilities, since official tools can be more limited than the freedom of "breaking and entering" inside a game's content. A good example of this is DOOM 2016 "snap map" editor, that, although fun, many players considered really restrictive. What are your thoughts over this? 15) Regarding Other option. Did you picked up such options? What have you offered as suggestion for DLCs? That's all folks! This thread is dedicated to A Man in Flames who had the audacy to challenge me to create it.

Konami will not do anything else besides Pachinkos and Mobile games. Those things have a very low cost, and a very high profit. No reason to do otherwise. I loved the artwork. Also, Genya Arikado looks awesome. And the new character Lucy is beautiful A shame it is only a gold-digger ios game...

Through the ages, the castlevania series had a lot of games and iterations. Among them, several things happened. A lot of background, off-the-screen stuff that some people may not be aware about. I get to know most of these things due to being such a hardcore fan i was always reading absolutely any interview, information and interesting thing that came up about it, through many sources. So, as a interesting trivia of sorts, here's some information, curiosities and trivia about Castlevania series that maybe, some of you doesn't know, specially during IGA's work at it. If some data below is not accurate, please tell me.
Castlevania timeline when Harmony of Dissonance was published. 1) It is well known by some people, that Castlevania series had four games from the main timeline, removed. They are: Castlevania Legends, Castlevania 64, Castlevania Legacy and Castlevania: Circle of the Moon. IGA explained that he removed those games from the main canon for different reasons: IGA never fully explained why Castlevania Legends was retconned, but the game implies the possibility that Trevor Belmont could be Sonia and Alucard's son. That would contradict IGA's plot for Belmonts, being a holy family. Not only that, but the game dealt with Dracula's and Belmont's origins. Those are most probably the main reasons of why the game was cut from the canon. Both Castlevania 64 and Legacy was removed from canon because the authors of such games themselves told IGA that they were part of an alternative reality. Castlevania: Circle of the Moon was also conceived as part of an alternative reality, according to IGA and the game also had contradictory elements from the plot IGA wanted to build. Those aren't the only games removed from canon. Absolutely all remakes / remades of the first Castlevania game are also considered non-canon, among some others.
Timeline mistakenly published. Castlevania Legends isn't there, although being advertised at the same page. 2) IGA stated that one of the things he regrets more on doing at Castlevania series, was publishing the series timeline. He said in a interview that, when they started working on Symphony of the night, he and his team started to build the game's timeline as a guide for them to create a coherent plot. It wasn't meant to be official, just a inside guide for them, in order for Symphony of the Night's plot to make sense, but the team ended up leaking it to Konami's magazine and thus, it automatically became official. That led not only for him to had the obligation of following the timeline but also led to him explaining why some games wasn't there (mainly, Castlevania legends at the time). Specially because the page of the magazine that published it had a huge advertisment for Castlevania Legends and the game WASN'T on the timeline at the same page.
Alucard Spear. Actually, Ricardo Spear. 3) Mistranslations between japanese and english versions forced IGA to be creative and fix those problems by adding them to the plot. Sypha Belnades (Castlevania 3) was mistranslanted and depiced as a male in english versions of the game. To fix that, IGA created the backstory that she disguised herself as a male in order to attract less attention and make her work as a hunter for the church easier. Eric Lecarde is actually called Eric Ricardo at the japanese version of Castlevania for the Sega Genesis. His spear is actually named "Ricardo Spear". Alucard Spear is a gross mistranslation from english to japanese. To fix that, IGA created a whole lore about the Lecarde family being distant relatives to the Belmonts and the spear being forged by Alucard as a complement to the Vampire Killer Whip, to enpower the Lecardes.
Lament of Innnocence. Plot before gameplay. 4) IGA stated before that ALL Castlevania games he ever created, he started from the gameplay aspects first, and the plot was crated after it, because he consideres the gameplay, for Igavania style games, to be more important than the plot. The only game in the whole series that was created backwards (plot first, gameplay later) was Lament of Innocence, because he felt the need to explain the origins of the Belmont family and Dracula (that is actually Mathias Cronqvist, later, using a new identity as Vlad Tepes).
Alucard. Light and Darkness. 5) When Symphony of the Night began production, IGA said that they wanted to create several endings, and some of them would be based off on how "good" or "evil" Alucard would be by the end. If you used his dark magic (Hell fire, Dark Metamorphosis) a lot, he would fall down a evil / darkness path, but if you used more of his human / holy skills (sub-weapons, mostly) he would fall down a holy path. They gave up on that when they realized this would be too complex at the time.
Soul Dominance 6) IGA considers Soul Dominance (Aria of Sorrow magic system) to be the best magic system his team ever created. He said that this is the main reason for reusing it on Dawn of Sorrow. The Glyph system (from Order of Ecclesia) is loosely based on it and Shard system (from Bloodstained) is heavily based on it.
The battle of 1999, knon as "The Demon Castle War" 7) Both Aria and Down of Sorrow says that a huge battle happened in 1999, that killed off Dracula for good. IGA has said before that he has the whole plot of that, written down and he planned to create a game for it, but Konami ended up removing him from the Castlevania series before he had the opportunity for that. He has said before that he does not plan on revealing such plans because if anyone ever wants to pick up the series and work on that, he wouldn't like to do something that could make such person feel obligated to follow his plans.
Lords of Shadow. 8) When Mecury steam got Castlevania franchise to work with, they wanted to do a game based on Simon Belmont, but gave up on it. When asked why they wouldn't follow IGA's timeline, but decided to reboot the whole thing, Mecury Steam's leader (forgot his name, sorry) said that Castlevania's timeline had a lot of definitions and specific things that would limit their freedom on creating the game. Also, that Castlevanai's timeline was "IGA's baby" and he felt it woudn't be right to mess up with something IGA took so much time to build. It was his [IGA's] thing and they thought it wouldn't be right to use it.
that's all folks!

This Legacy Collection makes me think again of how badly I'd like a PC HD version of the Zero collection. I never played any game of the original Megaman series (until the end, at least) and just one or two of the X games, but I played all four Zero titles and they were bloody incredible. That collection is to good to remain DS only. (on a side note: I also love the ZX games. I'm very excited to pick up the X series for basically the first time. I didn't have much luck with the classic series, I didn't really like the earliest games, but X should be closer to Zero in terms of gameplay so I'm really hyped) As someone that started playing Megaman series with the X series, i can tell that you are in for a great ride. Megaman Zero series are the best series, plot-wise, but the X series are the best, gameplay-wise, in my opinion. All X games are great to me, although, not all of them are capable of maintaining the same overall quality, but i love how they tried to improve the game's formula over time. For a Igavania fan, it's really fun to play X series, because they do have some "Igavania elements" to them. In all of them you have things to collect, such as Life Ups (increase Health bar size permanently), Health tanks (can store life energy to use later on) and specially Armor parts (give special abilities, progression abilities and such). The games have locked areas where you need special weapons or armor parts to progress on them. Even the older ones requires quite some hours if you want to finish them picking up everything. If you just played one or two of them and liked, rest assured: you are going to love playing all of them. I loved X series so much that even today, i remember where ALL pick ups from X, X2, X3 and X4 are, and also what weapon to be used on each boss. X5 ownards i don't remember everything, but i still have some of that info on my head.

Megaman's canon is a hot topic of debate among fans. There are many contradictory sources and information.
According to Megaman Wikia, that follows official releases and books on Japan, this is, supposely, Megaman's timeline:
Megaman Series (also known as Classic series) (20XX): 1, 2, Dr. Willy's Revenge, 3, II, 4, III, 5, IV, V, 6, 7, 8, Megaman & Bass, 9, 10, 11.
Megaman X series (21XX): X1, X2, X3, X4, X5, X6, X7, X8,
Megaman Zero series (few centuries after X series): Z1, Z2, Z3, Z4
Megaman ZX series (a century after Z series): ZX, ZX Advent.
Megaman Legends series (thousand years after ZX series): Tron Bonne, Megaman Legends, Rockman DASH: 5tsu no Shima no Daibouken, Megaman Legends 2.
Notes: -Megaman World series (Gameboy and such, those with roman numbers) fit the storyline, but their canonicity is debated.
-Megaman X6, X7 and X8 are officially considered canon by Capcom. X5's canon ending is one where X defeats Sigma, Zero vaporizes and Dr.'s Light hologram repairs X's body. X6's canon ending is the one where X defeats Zero Nightmare and Zero returns through it's own remains used to built Zero Nightmare. Zero series implies events happening during or after X6, but, with some effort, it is possible to consider both X6, X7 and X8 as canon if one follows Capcom's canon endings.
-Megaman X Command Mission is officially considered non-canon by Capcom.
-Megaman legends is officially considered canon by Capcom, but it takes place "several thousand years later" ZX, implying the whole world is completely different due to the huge gap between series.

The official release date is 2018. That's it. No more, no less. The new (and probably last) demo will be out on June. Now, there are three points to be made about this: 1) You can't release a game before a demo; 2) You need the demo's feedback and, at normal game developing cycles, the code freeze (when the game's code is locked and only bugs can be fixed, no more large content can be added without lots of effort), happens 4 months before release. Remember, the demo feedback will only work if the game's code is not locked yet. 3) You need to do the marketing campaign for the game's launch. Considering all that, expect the game to be released between October and December, 2018.That is, most probably, their window release. My guess? Pre-order on November 2018, delivery by first two weeks of December 2018, to use the Christmas release window, when people buy games to give as Xmas gifts. it's one of the best, commercial holidays for seeling. The game even released christmans hat as clothes for Miriam. And, who wouldn't want Bloodstained as Christmas gift, right?

I liked that annoucement and i think this is actually a good idea. I wonder if Capcom is trying to do what they did when they released Darkstalkers on Xbox live and such (trying to see if there was still audience for it), abeit they did that in a lazy way.
The Megaman series is, among Castlevania, one of my favorite game series. I played almost all of them. If i'm not mistaken, i played Megaman 7, 8, X1 through X8, Zero 1, 2, 3, 4 and the ZX series (abeit not much).
What i really would like to see, is a follow up to the main series. All Megaman series are cannonically connected. Plot-wise, i consider Megaman Zero series to be the best of them all, and i really would like to see a comeback to that "post-apocalyptic" war zone with our heries in a resistance fightning against a oppressor dictactorship. I always thought that was such a great approach to the series they should try it again.
But anyways, reviving the old series in a new way is always good too.

Great! Again, i don't know much about english dubbing, so, but that was fun.
Zangetsu has a lot of "pointy things". That's...interesting.

darekaThat makes a lot of sense. I had that in mind but i didn't realized the huge tip it was given there. It surely could be that! Elfina AshfieldI believe the humanoid bosses are kinda mandatory due to the Boss Revenge Mode. That mode kinda forced them to create bosses capable of being controlled by the player, in order to fill in the Boss Revenge Mode, since i'm sure we will not be able to play, let's say, with Vepar on such mode.

I also didn't remember that about the screen not being too cluttered with itens. But i guess it kinda makes sense. Back in 2015/16, IGA gave a interview where he said that, considering what they were planning for the game (materials drop, itens drop, gear drop, shard drop (that at the time they didn't had a unified plan for it) and the fact that, dropping stuff would be way more important for this game than it was on most other Igavanias, the game would have a higher drop rate than your common Igavania.
If Bloodstained really ends up with a overall higher drop rate than what we are used to on other Igavanias, then it makes sense to use bags. It's kinda like Resident Evil 4 back in PS2, when they decided to give enemies, drop stuff like gold and ammo, and if you killed a bunch of enemies at the same time, the screen where cluttered with shining stuff all around, breaking a lot of the game's immersion.

Great video, this one has more reveals and interesting stuff so, i'm gonna break it down what they say: DAVID HAYTER (Zangetsu)
As said above, fans didn't assumed incorrectly. It is on Kickstarter page that David Hayter would be the voice of Gebel. I also see no reason why to do this. The last Kickstarter update even mentioned that it was IGA's executive decision. It is interesting to see how they struggled to find the right tone for Zangetsu. I also thought that, that it could sound too much like Snake, since Zangetsu also has a deep, strong voice. Good to know they were able to find the right middle ground there.
RENA STROBER (Bloodless, Anne and others)
Bloodless artowrk!
First thing to note is that, it is confirmed that Bloodless is, indeed, a vampire. We all knew that, but it was never officially remarked (i think). I remember IGA saying in the beginning of the kickstarter, that he wanted to try stay away from vampires to set up Bloodstained as a more original work. I guess this is really hard to do. How you do a Gothic demonic game in a hellish castle, with a title as "Bloodstained" without at least one vampire? Good to know Bloodless is really a vampire, as we all thought. Rena mentions that she would love to have a spell such as the ability to go back in time, she asks "Is that one of them?" and we can hear Angel saying "Yes, of course". Does that mean a time rewind ability was confirmed? I don't know. It could be simply a chit-chat there, don't get your hopes up. But yeah, an ability where you can rewind some seconds of what you just did, would be really awesome, but that would pose a challenge. You would need to do a lot of specific things for something like this not be overused, such as: -rewinding time also rewinds EXP gain, drops and everything else (or else, a player would simply keep going back to insta-kill the same high EXP, low drop enemy). -Completely block it's usage on bosses (an ability like that would make ANY boss fight a complete joke), unless a boss is fully designed to be fought while using it. -Make it the highest MP usage in the whole game, potentially using up all MP bar after two or three usages. -Make some areas "protected" against time manipulation, to block this magic from being used, (again, this ability would make any gimmick / physical hazard in most places, a walk in the park to beat). So, i don't know if they really did that. It would require a huge work to something like this work properly without completely breaking the game. About the character she would give advice, she said i wouldn't change "her" (female confirmed), take a Xanax (insanity / mental instability confirmed), and wash her hands (the character has something nasty / bizarre / monstruous on her hands, confirmed). About the other evil character she plays, it really sounds like some kind of Bunny. "Some ears" and love "Chocolate orbs". Evil (maybe sexy?) Easter Bunny is my guess. And that will be...really interesting. In Gothic scenarios, sometimes, people like to add something colorful, cute and completely out-of-place, that makes it terryfing. Imagine a colorful forest with lots of happy trees and cute little animals, filled with frightening clowns and ragged dolls, with a evil easter bunny as boss. You can't say it isn't weird. And interesting.
FRED TATASCIORE (The Coachman)
Fred is a really fun guy, but his interview, game-wise, doesn't have much to talk about. But damn, what a fun guy! That's all folks!
