I mean, the Playstation (Vita) TV should be somewhere around $30-40 still and folks just recently apparently found a way to remove the whitelist restriction on the few games that weren't playable before. You're getting a modern home console for -really- cheap there. On one hand learning that PSTV is cheapo-cheap moves it from "eh I have Vita already" to "hey, I could play Vita games on big screen with a proper controller" territory on other... I am worried. I mean that's what, about eight times cheaper than Vita was? How can PSTV be so cheap - does removal of screen and buttons really cut the production cost so much?

After 200 deaths I finally put my boot up Gwyn's ass, and thus endeth Dark Souls 1. I don't think I'll be revisiting it, not with how the later half of the game goes, but eagerly awaiting Dark Souls 3 later this year.

I'm not as familiar with his works like others here but I knew enough to realize we lost another great one. Which is saddening because more and more now I hear of great people passing on, and it feels like current generation doesn't have people that can fill their shoes. Makes me feel like an old man and I'm only 31 damn it!
Like my friend put it: "Year's off to a great start, ain't it."

I picked up The Legend of Heroes(I don't like this title since it's kind of generic): Trails in the Sky(I'll be referring to it by subtitle from now on). Trails in the Sky won my heart by the intro. The writing and dialogue are pretty good. I can't wait to jump into it. From what I've seen the fanbase seems to refer to it as TiTs Nice pick, heard a lot of good things about the game, definitely a title of my "to get one day" list.

Malek Deneith Perhaps I missed it but I thought everyone was just having a "chill" conversation about a change the development team made. I easily could have missed a post though. Talking about something doesn't mean people are up in arms and armed. I don't see how so many people are reaching that conclusion. As for neogaf I don't go there so I don't know/care what they are saying. Fair enough, fair enough, perhaps "chill out" was a bit much. Just wanted to point out we're... having a discussion over something that's ultimately going to be irrelevant when playing, that's all.

Bunch of male gamers complaining about fanservice being given to them... I'm sorry what is this bizzaro dimension I stepped into? Seriously though chill out people. The reality is that 95% of the time you won't even notice it once the game comes out because the character will likely be too small in relation to the entirety of the screen for such details to be obvious (no matter their size, hurr hurr)... even assuming you'll waste time nitpicking rather than playing the (fingers crossed) great game. Also I totally think the size in teaser is consistent with size shown in images linked by crocodile which, I believe, came closer to the end of campaign. But again, whatever.

Decided to pause my playthrough of Dark Souls 1 (because the amount of bulls*bleeep* in later game areas was starting to grate on my nerves) and rest from it. So I instead loaded one of better ways to blow some steam off, the newest release of Brutal Doom. Rip and Tear!

Makes you wonder what possible dlc they may cook up. I think 'what if?' scenarios would be cool. Alternate costumes are a safe bet (Advent Children Tifa costume please, don't care much for her original look). Other than that Horse Chocobo Armor

Bumping this up to spread awarness of a damn good PS4 release that seems to have flown under the radar due to combination of insufficient promotion and visuals that make it seem, at a glance, seem unworthy of the price asked. The game in question is called N++ and is a hard as nails platformer with high emphasis on momentum usage. The concept is simple. You play as a ninja with great acrobatic skills that come at a cost of natural lifespan of a minute and a half. You need to spend that time beating five levels full of various dangers (from mines, to drones, to various turrets, to unsafe landing angles, all of them deadly) while collecting as much gold placed around the level as possible (since it's the only way of increasing your timelimit at 2 second gain per piece picked up). The levels are made to fit wholly on one screen but are really, really well crafted, and there is a ton of them - currently over 1000 levels for solo play and almost as much for coop and racing (local only sadly). On top of that the game comes with an inbuilt level editor (which sees much use in hands of fans), and the developers are, to my knowledge, still planning on adding more content (there were talks of another 1.5k levels total and more play modes) and want to make a Steam port although I imagine with low amount of sales the game seems to be getting and a loss of a programmer this might not come fast (if at all :/). For the record the game originally was a flash game (and if you want to take a closer look on how the game plays you can find the free flash version here. The levels in PS4 version are mostly new although there is a selection of best "legacy" levels included) and prior to N++ there was a XBLA verson called N+. Also, have a random Youtube video of one of the levels in game as a showcase: So to sum it up: good platformer, not enough exposure. If you have PS4 and like platoformers maybe look at the flash version and consider if you'd like to support the PS4 one, if not then perhaps you can spread awarness to some friends who are into this sort of game. Crying shame to see it flop.

The funny thing is that even though I was interested in the game back when I was young I never actually played through it. I did play some part of it at one point on a borrowed copy, that much I remember, but for some reason never go full length before returning the game, and it was so so long ago I don't even remember how much of the game I went through. Then when I got Vita I bought FF7/8/9 and again didn't really touch any of them. This trailer made me buy the PS4 "Remaster"... third time is a charm, eh?

I must say that glancing over the last page and seeing the modified images I have a bigg issue with them - the whole "Darkening 2: Goth Harder" effect applied starts killing detail. The far off half of the bookshelf on the right becomes damn near invisible (which makes no sense since it's next to a light source - official shader 2 pic has a similar problem just not as pronounced), details on window arches are starting to fade, chairs are beggining to fee flat. Now granted that's just photoshop and that affects how things come out, and I can agree that Shader 1 default looks a bit too bright, but let's not go overboard, eh? Doom, gloom and grit don't automatically make for better atmosphere - even in a game like this - and color is not the enemy. The whole reaction to color in general is starting to give me a flashback to early days of Diablo 3 teases and the "oh no, rainbows and color in Diablo" kneejerk.

Blood source port or remake of the game akin to the one Shadow Warrior got. Neither is going to happen because apparently legal rights to Blood franchise are a total charlie foxtrot or something. Which is a shame because that was probably the most atmospheric shooter I ever played. The first one anyway, Blood 2 was kind of "eh".

Been playing Disgaea 5 almost exclusively since I got it. Damn I love this series, and 5 is the best one to date. Aside from that I am hitting Mortal Kombat X a bit. I suck at fighting games, but hey it's fun to punch the AI a bit from time to time. And the fact it was on a huge discount on european PSN few weeks ago helped.

Yep, no surprise there. Been obvious for a looong time that Sony got burned, hard on vita and won't make another handheld. Kind of a shame, for me it was a very nice buy... but then I never owned PS1, PS3 or PSP so ports of games from these systems were a very, very nice thing for me.
