After two hours of downloading and two more of patching I managed to make a character and have a quick look around. Pretty game thus far. I was wondering, I think I saw a suggestion somewhere that I shouldn't do too many side-quests but leave them for levelling other classes, and instead focus on main storyline for now? How accurate is that?

I feel my resolve being tested. I... ...welp. My wallet is going to hate me. So jokes aside unless I do a 180-turn on the idea *again* I'll probably end up buying this game tommorow. Why am I posting this, well two reasons. One is to check if someone here plays on PS4 and ask if it's true that I can buy a keyboard, a mouse and use these instead of a controller. The other is because going over other forums I learned that there is, or at least was some recruit-a-friend scheme giving goodies to both new players and person that does the recruiting. Assuming that still stands true and there is someone here from EU servers, well... wouldn't mind benefiting from that

So to you people in US I direct my question - is there a digital equivalent of buying both main paths in one go, or is that only available when buying a hardcopy?

Went back to Darkest Dungeon. The Collector is an [EXPELTIVE DELETED]. I think at some point I might start a pararell game of this, making it a dark run and naming characters after people I know from various forums. Just to see how fast I run out of these.

As a non-player I feel the need to ask - what is the story behind this? Because as written it sounds as if devs did a colony drop on the setting between versions Well, basically this, since Version 1.0 was busted beyond all saving, and decided to rebuild the game from scratch, they decided to release the final story mission for V1.0, where the moon was slowly descending to the earth. It didnt matter what you did during those final hours, the moon kept falling in real time, at the same time, a woman with a haunting melody can be heard in the background. As as you can imagine, players from around, stuck around for those final moments, its kinda like sitting around for the end of the world. People, friends, players, sitting around waiting for death. And when the countdown finally was over, players were greeted with this. Apart from this being the most prettiest piece of eye candy Square has put out to date, this was a graceful way to bow out from a bad performance. The game was going offline, and Square puts so much effort into setting their game on fire, and was it an amazing fire to look at. I've been harsh to Square many times in my life, but the way they handled the termination of V.10 and A Realm Reborn was MASTERFULLY done. Well that's one way to reboot a game with style. You mention that 1.0 was broken beyond saving, are there any places where I could read up on what went wrong?

Edit- Also going back to the topic of Version 1.0, were you there on the day where the servers went down, being there in the final moments as the moon was falling, and the End of Era started playing? How did you feel? As a non-player I feel the need to ask - what is the story behind this? Because as written it sounds as if devs did a colony drop on the setting between versions

Looking forward to the game but of course as a person living in Europe I have no idea as to *when* I'll get to play it. When I do though I plan on going through all campaigns. Birtright > Conquest > whatever the name was for the third one. No such thing as too much fire emblem.
(In my thoughts I like to believe I'd play through the game keeping the results if someone dies along the way but I know I'm weak, I'm probably going to repeat missions until I do them without deaths)
edit: Come to think of it, was it revealed how they plan on justifying playable children this time around?

Spice and Wolf and Log Horizon? Sounds like you're an economics fan Don't you know, economics is the best Jokes aside while it's true that both series cleverly use economics in their plots, what really draws me in is good story for S&W and the MMORPGy bits in LH (and damn Mamare clearly knows how an actual MMORPG looks unlike autohor of certain other stuck-in-MMORPG light novel *coughswordartonlinecough*) Edit: Besides, everyone knows that Log Horizon isn't about economics but dramatic glasses readjusting

My work on this friday was a bit on the tiresome side but arrival of courier with four more light novels afterwards made up for it. Grow my collection, grow, MWAHAHAHA... ahem, sorry not sure what got to me there. (Really need to spend more time reading through these. Also the camera in my cell sucks.)

Seems the creator reuploaded the vid to vimeo and has it available on www.joelfurtado.comAnd still plans on releasing more. Not sure if a smart decision to be honest. Edit: Aaand now that site lists the video as unavailable. RIP X-Men Danger Room Protocols

Ah, I didn't notice. Several of pieces by Demetori remind me of Doom music actually. Or, well, at many of them would fit as Doom music might be a more accurate statement.

Since nobody else brought this one up - Doom. And Doom 2. These soundtracks are damn amazing, take for example Into Sandy's city from Doom 2. Also Touhou music. And it's remixes. And remixes of these remixes. And... you get the picture. But I believe that got already brought up in a different music related thread.

As for the comics, I've read the Dark Phoenix Saga, some of Astonishing and Ultimate X-Men, Marvel MAX: Wolverine, and my copy of God Loves, Man Kills is autographed by Chris Claremont. If you can, try to get your hands on original Exiles run (it's great and pretty much self contained) and Excalibur run (also pretty good but suffers from a bit of a dip in the middle). Just two storylines that came to my mind when I read this.

Oh man that looks pretty damn good... *and* it gets mad style points for using a remix of X-Men '92 animated series intro theme for music.
And yeah another big X-Men fan. Read *some* comics when I was young (and watched the animated series of course), which in turn led me to trying to catch up on *all* related comics much later on in life. Been going on with it for... last five or six years at least, and I'm *almost* caught up.

Yeah I actually went and picked up a PSTV today after checking that all Atelier games and Dragon's Crown are compatible with it in EU. 720p on 1080p monitor looks kind of eh but for being able to use a proper controller to play? Gladly pay the price.
And +1 on that Marathon reccomendation, only played 1 and 2 thus far but they were great. They're more than Doom-style FPS I'd say - yeah there is action aplenty but they also come with Bungie-style convoluted and mysetrious plot that has people speculating to this day.
