I'm hoping the game will have a range of difficulties, and I don't just mean normal and nightmare and that's it... I was kinda hoping easy/normal/hard, in addition to nightmare, where the nightmare in this game would be like doom's nightmare difficulty, which is more than just a notch harder the previous difficulty, it also throws additional curveballs that you woudln't expect like regenerating enemies, health automatically decaying over time, etc.
But yeah I think OoE's difficulty is pretty decent for 'normal' difficulty, easy can be available for those who think that's too much, hard for people who though it oculd be harder (I haven't played OoE for awhile but IIRC the game certainly seemed alot harder than most CV games early on, but by the time you reach the castle, I recall the game was actually pretty easy).
Nightmare of course, I'm hoping will be cruel. Like trying to 1cc a shmup on its hardest setting or something.

castlevania and dragonball. they go together like peanut butter and jelly! or wait.. no they don't at all! =P
Anyway, I too found myself doing a double-take on the whole 'early castlevania was about metal music and gore' line. I don't know... I mean sure I can sorta see how early castlevania's music had metal elements at time, probably moreso than other music genre elements. But the dude kinda made it sound alot more profound and concrete than I feel it is....errr..and I kinda thought LATE castlevania had more gore than early =/

So I finally found the video stream thing (links given were saying final fantasy type-o or something). Was entertaining to watch. Though I can't help but wonder what questions were planned. They had several forum questions they wanted to ask that was cut short despite the objection. Iga's answer to the 'salad' question didn't quite seem correct however. I mean "I don't particularly prefer one part over another" would be ok, or "The moment of its release and seeing it all put into place" would be another... but "it's all part of the salad and equally important"...
Kinda looks like somehow the question was interprited as "what's the most important part of a game", rather than what part he personally enjoys participating in the most.

Goob needs to see a fashion doctor, clearly there is a traumatic brain injury at play! =P.
Seriously though, I'm very minimalistic about the face/head. Even ordinary miriam, that circlet thing is a bit garish for my tastes. I'm a total face perv.. must be completely naked!

=/ You seem to be missing all the facts... the posts you are criticizing were moved from another thread.. a thread about questions for the pax thing, and since the questions have already been selected beyond a certain point, discussing particular questions and the nature of them is about as on topic as you can get. Even if it wasn't, I never got the impression that this was the kind of forum where topics must be adhered to with absolute laser-defined clarity all the time. His post was among the ones that were moved from that thread to this one. Well then my post would have been perfectly on topic to begin with then.

Heh, I don't really know how I should feel about, when a friendly user gives a friendly advice and 2 users ignore that. There is nothing wrong with this line of conversation guys, but it shouldn't be better to create a new thread in the discussion / suggestion area called "Combos" or something like that? I'm glad that this place is full of gentle people, otherwise I think that they would've locked this thread already, disabling us to know and share news about the livestream. Since I would hate if this happened. Blah, I was hoping for a handy video or something.. All I can find is the schedule. qq. As for the cosmetic/costume thing. Despite the fact I don't like any of the examples much, I like the thought it's on the dev's mind...And as for the discussion between Dan G and other people.... Basically Dan, there are actually quite a few games that DO have cosmetic items and stat items seperately, even for the same slots... so like you can wear a helm for stats, and APPEAR to wear another helm for cosmetics. You posted something that indicated you thought this to be unlikely, and that you wanted what you wanted because it's not impossible. I think you are mistaken or unaware of how normal such a system is. I personally can think of quite a few that feature it: Diablo 3, World of Warcraft, Elsword, Vindictus, starbound, terraria, Phantasy star online 2...Pretty sure nearly every new mmo does actually nowdays.... It is quite frankly becomming near-standard. I THINK that is why he wanted his 'way' nyah. If not, I kinda agree, it would seem like a selfish thing because his way basically burns everyone who wants to play dressup without sacrificing stats...but the other ways don't actually prohibit anyone from doing whatever they want for stats OR looks. I just hope that the game doesn't have a "turn this stat-based item into a cosmetic version" feature that either unlocks late in the game, preventing you from enjoying it for most of the game. Or one that effectively forces you to farm 'double' of certain items.

No combo system was mentioned in an iga interview already I believe, along with other questions like transformations. However your statement is just plain wrong. Combo systems don't neccesarily slow down pace, and they certainly don't un-2d a game. They aren't even remotely connected. Elsword for example has a pretty in depth combo system and it's faster paced than any castlevania game I know, and it certainly feels 2d. I believe Iga mentioned his misgivings about a button input system too. He said it doesn't really benefit a game and all it does is alienate people who have difficulty with them, or people who prefer input devices that are less ideal for such things (such as keyboard for pc users). I don't think I'm wrong. IGA explained why he didn't want to do it and I stand completely by his reasonings. Even if it didn't slow things down I still much prefer the simple Attack system that is known with Igavania games because that's the type of game we all have been asking for. Not a clone of other side scrollers. There's plenty of ways to make a deeper system in all areas of this game while keeping it true to his style, a combo system just doesn't seem IGA like. Imo err yeah I meant to say that it was already mentioned that there would be no combo system. I just disagree that combo systems magically make games slower and less 2d. That's completely unrelated. Also, I'm pretty sure there are a lot more 2d side scroller games without combo systems than with...I'm not saying I want the game to have a combo system, or that it should have one just that.. your reasons for not having them seem to be pulled from a hat.

I play several instruments. Guitar mainly, and bass. I am currently learning piano and training my voice (which means it is not that good at the moment)... I am also making room in my bedroom for a drumset (while I save money of course). I always dreamed to have a cello as well because I just love how beautiful it sounds. I am keeping money for a shamisen and a shakahuchi (I love Japan and its traditional music). Oh my, I do not even know where am I going to put this and where I will find the time for all of these but I just can not accept not to had, tried and enjoyed them before dying ! I have studied musics for some years so I can read a sheet too and know some basics of theory. With all this said though, I am only an average musician in terms of skills. I rather like just enjoy, except for the guitar which is my main instrument as I told you. Music is a devorous passion but it is really good for the soul ! I hope I am not looking like an attention prick, I am not meaning too, I know there is a dozen of people who know how to play like ten instruments in pretty much a virtuoso way ! ha ! ha ! I too have some experience with theory enough to have to write a thing or two... For some reason though I never really was able to remember the significance of the scales and modes and whatnot. Whenever I would have to write something, I'd know that it would be using ___ scale for the most part. But all too often there would be notes that would just sound way off even if it was somehow part of the scale, I would have to put something weird there. Oftentimes these were highlights or climaxes or really expressive parts of the song too. Maybe there's a term or pattern or logic behind that but I never learned it beyond me instinct and ear. I never forgot how to read music a single time even after never even being taught it in passing, but the whole scale/mode/etc nonsense gets forgotten after like a single week of non-use even if I was working with it for months. I don't understand. I just learn that way, if something makes sense to me and I know why it is and how it is and how it got there, I remember it, but when things are arbitrary, I cna't for the life of me remember it.

I'll just say I don't like Jazz music, and don't recall ever liking a Jazz track in a game, castlevania or otherwise. Though I don't recall any castlevania game having a jazz track that really bothered me and make me go 'OH GOD TURN IT OFF" like some game's songs do.
That said I like the Bloodstained theme. as soon as I heard it I was like "yup, that's castlevania"... Cursed orphan on the other hand. To be honest I'm not that enamored with it. It's too noisy and obnoxious for my tastes, and I have a hard time imagining it in actual gameplay without it drowning out the regular sound effects...They will probably filter it or something to not be that way, who knows if my opinion will be the same then.
I wont vote because I love the first track, and the 2nd track is kinda less than meh but not quite hate

Also no combo system people. It would change the feel of an IGAVANIA game drastically. It slows down the pace, just look at mirror of fate. It needs to feel like a 2d game and the way to do that is to NOT have a combo system.. A BUTTON input spell system on the other hand I'm totally down for. No combo system was mentioned in an iga interview already I believe, along with other questions like transformations. However your statement is just plain wrong. I don't watch anime and I don't know this Adi guy so I wont be expecting much, particularly since as mentioned, other castlevania side projects have a habit of never seeing the light of day. But I'll certainly give it a shot if it comes out and hope for the best.

It's hard to say what kind of bonus features would be considered fair or not... Personally I think it would be fair if said costumes were available on all platforms since the devs had to do the work on the textures and whatnot regardless... however then the nintendo folks would be left wondering if there is any point in the amiibo (though honestly I don't know how the whole amiibo things work) when you can get said bonus features free (aside from buying a copy of the actual game).
Every console has their differences, and it's up to the console manufacturers to try and make theirs seem the most enticing. However I don't think 3rd party software developers should try and juggle work by completely utilizing all the differences to their fullest simultaneously. Instead it's more practical to try and make them all as compatible to each other as possible. Should the xbone get special weapons that you can only use fully using the kinect? Should the ps4 version have unique stages that are too hardware intensive for the other consoles. When does the console specificity end? Pretty sure it would be a marketing mistake for a dev to lead their first project to be multiplatform and alient fans somehow. Yeah many would get over it, but the game industry is full of jumpy people quick to anger, and they are potential customers/supports too. They should be respected when you're still working on your first project IMO.

I'm a total sucker for long twintails.. unless they are really really skinny like that finnel girl in ar tonelico 3.. yuck.. those look more like bug antennae than hair.
Dont' care much for short twintails, but I like those too if they are spikey and not so droopy. hair 48 for example is a bit too short and not spikey enough to make up for it.. though it is borderline long enough, even slightly longer would be <3. I like those rectangular tag-ribbon things sticking up with twintails too. mmm.
Also I don't like twintail drills/princess curls much, there is an exception or two but I haven't been able to determine why. if they are only at the tips or ends like in hair 34 though that's ok with me. I just don't like em when they are huge and take up more than half the hair.

Game prices here in canada are not that bad I know. But just to try and ease the lonely anguish, I HAVE been burned on game prices a couple times. My first time was like 10-15 years ago, I bought Top Gear 3000 for the SNES via ebay.. total cost was 15 bucks, that included shipping...game never came to my door until TWO YEARS LATER by UPS..I thought it was lost or misdelivered or scammed or something. but no. 2 years late...
And then the ups dude wouldn't even give it to me until I paid him 35 effing dollars because of 'duty'... WDF?!
I had a similar 35 dollar duty fee from UPS when I ordered some fancy hot sauce from the states, sauce that was supposed to cost 30 dollars only.
Now I simply refuse buying anything from the states if they insist on ups, just no...and just so you know, that's not normal for UPS from the states to canada, just for me. I think it's more of a localized region thing.

if this game ever gets delayed.. it will take all of 2 days before some folks claim it's the next duke nukem forever. They are doing this with Trails in the sky SC's localization, and it has been delayed for only 1.5 years past it's first estimate that was ammended to be a mistake long before its time came.
Makes me facedesk every time.. and yes, I've seen people say it with that game several times =/

Yeah lots of anime girls... That's kind of to be expected though because anime certainly has a dress-up element to it. My fave outfit ever is Noire's clear dress in neptunia. If you don't know, despite what the name suggests, it's not clear. It's actually not even skimpy. But I love it so much. Of course, I wouldn't expect it since it's owned by IF or CH or something. That said, I think it's pretty close to the same style as Miriam's outfit..so it wouldn't really be out of the game's style or anything.

Like a bit over year ago on another forum I was bishing about how much it sucks that they don't make D&D ruleset computer games anymore. I haven't played actual D&D since 3rd edition myself, and it would be nice to have a game like the original neverwinter nights using whatever the current ruleset is (5.x? 6.x?!), just so I can see waht it's like. The PC gaming gods must have heard me though because shortly afterwards I heard about sword coast legends. swordcoast.com/I hope it turns out good.
