I was so so so pissed to learn last year that he showed up but it was for a indie development and not really Bloodstained related and thus I didn't stand out in the PAX visitors information Yeah he is, it was announced just yesterday. Saturday at 12:30 pm. Hope you see this in time.

I looked into the other two companies involved, Guard Crush and Lizardcube.
This is Guard Crush's work:
so uh ok. Lizardcube developed the Wonder Boy III remake which was pretty well-received and that's all I know of.
Still not feeling impressed yet lol

I'm not entirely convinced yet myself. Dotemu has a bad track record of porting things (all I know that they've done personally) and I'm not familiar with anyone else involved, and no mention of Yuzo Koshiro involved or it having similar strong sounds/things evoking its legacy.
The art/art style itself is okay, if a bit more western than I'd like. We'll see. This group is also doing the Windjammers "2", so we'll see how their ideas pan out.
It seems to be a symptom of Sega and SNK as well really handing out their licenses to whoever.

Other than being awful to ears, I suspect It greatly distorts facts, to the detriment of both series really. I'm pretty sure non linearity action adventure doesn't begin with the NES... Dungeons & Dragons? heh

Oh, this thread turned out to be about spells, I thought it would be answered like Yan's reply up there and we were good to go haha. I think that this -may- still be in the game, given how certain things shown early on don't seem imo to match up with monster powers. Update 15 showed several attacks that, with the exception of the ghost summon, all seem to be "crystal abilities" for lack of a better term that wouldn't make as much sense to me as shard attacks. From the beginning, I've had this idea that Miriam has some kind of ability separate from the demonic magic itself that allows her to produce somewhat of a crystalline substance that is/can be incorporated into her weapons, as seen also from the early concept art (how many of them look kind of like ice). Also giving some credence to this idea, though it may have just been a Gunvolt reference, Voltic Chain says "This is a special “seventh" ability—not a demonic one". I wouldn't say run with my speculation here though, because even way back not many people seemed to share my thought on it lol

Bad press about CotM? I scarcely remember any at all. The press (and of course reviews) were all overwhelmingly positive. There were many frustrated comments, but not so much articles or reports that I can recall.

Coincidentally, 505 Games took it upon themselves to re-publish that game to the One, before it was known to have redeemed itself. Good on them imo. @autumn thanks for that context for the quote, now I want to start spamming it myself

Yeah, I caught all of that myself after reading the skullheart forums and those linked posts.
It makes sense, but seems to have been clarified later in forum posts rather than the updates themselves pointing that out from what I remember. Or excitement and hopes could have gotten the best of me and I read right over it. I likely also immediately equated incarnations to einherjar. Oh well, it's fine, I imagine I'll be able to find at least 4 characters I want to play.

I can see where you're coming from with that logic akahige, but I don't believe it is correct. The first point I want to address is that we haven't seen screen shots specific to any console, so that situation isn't unique to the Vita. The most seen is a gif Angel put up a while back of a Switch with the title screen, but coming from a similar viewpoint to yours, that would only prove it runs the title screen ;p Anyway, they have talked previously about the Vita version, and even way back to October 2017 I put together a post about a couple of those. bloodstainedfanforums.com/post/48479There were/have been others, but randomly sparsed in interviews etc. Those two probably would be most topical for you anyway. In the AppTrigger interview's context specifically, this is how it goes - This was E3 2017. As you can see, he wasn't even pointedly asked about the Vita's development, but shifted to it purposely to mention how it had been going so far. Couple that with Mana's post, and I would not say "Vita never existed" unless I was a firm believer that they are both outright liars for no reason, which I know them to not be.

Yeah he's referring to the 11% on the survey that said they were getting a Vita version, so it does relate to the topic.
Xbox One's version won't be going anywhere of course.

In case anyone interested has not heard, the refund policy for Vita backers with multiple copies in an unlimited tier has been updated. Per an official Kickstarter comment: Hi everybody—we’ve heard complaints from collectors who backed at an unlimited multi-game tier ($125, $175, $250, $300, & $500) to get a Vita physical, but could only claim a partial refund since they had also selected a non-Vita digital copy of the game. After some internal discussion with Artplay and the other companies responsible for the Kickstarter campaign, we have updated the refund policy: in addition to the existing refund offer from Update #72, unlimited tiers with a physical Vita version selected will now be eligible for a full tier refund. We apologize that this policy wasn’t in force at the time of the update. If you’re a Vita physical backer who needs help claiming or adjusting a refund, please email orders@fangamer.com However, to add my own thoughts on this, I hope you refund guys consider changing your mind before 9/20. You may not have a shot at a backer edition again for something you once really cared to fund. Don't let anger or a stint of disappointment rob you of something you would otherwise enjoy. Just my .02 on that.

We were discussing "the last physical Vita game to exist" (your words) in regards to the possibility to publish physical vita games in 2019 or later. What you consider "official new game releases" is irrelevant to this. Fair enough I suppose. There will be games physically made later in some capacity, I'll give you that.

Wait, that should definitely be eligible. The only ones that aren't would be "limited" tiers that involved game design or the production of very limited items, etc. On the other side of the discussion, I think the Vita could have handled Bloodstained, yes, but only after the significant re-tooling to have Unreal 4 run on the system, an effort that originally would have seen Armature develop such for the Vita and Wii U, and then release the code publicly in both cases for others to use. At the time, that sounded like a really nice and cool thing to do. Now, it would mean almost nothing, and doing such for only the Vita, in a situation where we were already looking at Bloodstained being very possibly the last physical Vita game to exist. It was looking like a whole lot of effort to put into something that may not be able to actually launch at all, and even if it did likely not recoup any costs. It'd be a collector's dream, but a very shaky publishing effort. The main/only sense it would make would be to fulfill the slated promise to backers, but even that has been made difficult by not only the development circumstances for the platform, but Sony themselves. Many of the folks that selected it I imagine did so under the expectation that "man this will be really rare". They might play it, they might not. For any online features or later DLC, they'd probably have to use something else even if they wanted. Seriously? What about LRG who will be putting out vita games through 2019 and possibly 2020? What about SLG who just made a VERY successful vita announcement? What about R3 EAS? In the light of this, what tells you that Bloodstained probably will be the last vita game? I don't consider what LRG/SLG and other similar companies do as official new game releases, from what I understand all they do is port existing games under license from the developer that already exist as downloadable on that same platform. It's not all that different from how much, MUCH later on, people do things like this: i.ytimg.com/vi/1UFc-41le20/maxresdefault.jpgWhich I also don't really consider actual additions to the NES/SNES library, cool as it might be that people do these things. not long ago there was a "new" SNES fighting game released on a cart, same as with that. I see most of these things as glorified repros with one of the main selling points and draws being how extremely limited they are, which also keeps things less risky/profitable for the...micro publisher I guess we'll call them. It's also weird how almsot all of the pics I've seen of their actual cases don't have ESRB ratings on them. I know these guys are official enough to exist, at least, and didn't think you could do that.

Let's try to keep this thread focused on things pertaining to the graphics feedback for the beta. I believe there are a couple of other threads ongoing about the release date/delay discussion.

No vita version, no game for me...This sucks royally. Going for a refund but seems that the 60 bucks tier is not eligible. Why put a tier and advertise it for so long if you had no intention of fulfilling the promise? This is effed up.
