I always appreciate when games rotate like that as I find it a lot more immersive and more rewarding to get items, but I would still put it rather low on a list of priorities, wouldn't adding something like that decrease the chance of hair animations or various other things already on a hope to do if they have time list? I mean I suppose 3D models already exist of all items in the game so it wouldn't be too difficulty maybe? really depends on how much effort it would take as it's not a big deal to me

revient there was a recent update saying all $60+ backers will get a Steam code for the Demo regardless of what platform you backed. Maybe your PC is good enough to play it or maybe you know a friend who has a PC good enough to play it and is willing to let you try it out there.

if I had known ahead of time non-backers were getting the same content as the backers I would not have backed the game in the first place mainly because even if it ends up being $60 both Best Buy and Amazon give 20% discounts so it would have been cheaper waiting for release even for the physical copy. should at least be something backer exclusive though I'm not dead set on it being the Iga Boss / Sword Whip.
What about doing something more specific to backers that couldn't make it to retail anyway? with the backer exclusive content never having to make it on store shelves or in digital stores is it out of the question to ask for an unrated costume too sexy for those stores to allow anyway?

good update, like to hear about how hard people are working and the biggest news in it I'm most thankful for is giving out Steam codes of the demo for all backers instead of just PC backers, was a little worried I was gunna miss out on it being a Switch (slacker) backer when that is merely my platform of choice and have the option to play on PC. if those are really the same frogs as the ones that were shown off previously it's pretty amazing how much detail went into them for such a small enemy that's hard to notice fine details of in actual gameplay. got me hyped up for the March update, sounded as though it's coming on the 17th?

pause screen details are always a plus, there's a reason Skyrim cared enough about it to give every item in the game a 3d portrait for every item in the game you can look around at, I wouldn't expect bloodstained to go into that much detail though as it's not like it has anywhere near the budget or time to do so just saying any pause screen details are always nice to have. surprised they are going into such detail with the pause screen though when the game is supposed to come out this year, we haven't seen updates that make the game look close to completion (especially considering we were promised beta access which I would assume comes a few months before release and there's no word on when that's coming) and wouldn't pause screen stuff be lower on the priority list of bonus things to put into the game than animated hair for example?

I like the idea of only being able to unlock either the pure Miriam costume or the fully corrupted Miriam costume in a single playthrough and having to complete a New game + to unlock the other.
What made the Chrono Trigger best in slot gear only being partially obtainable in a single playthrough so great though was being able to kill the boss of the game at any point in time and even having a difficult time on a new game+ trying to kill the boss of the game at a point the main character is supposed to die and the boss is more powerful than any other point in the game, I don't think that would be as exciting in a game that is more skill based and would prefer the more challenging fights to be won because you got better at the game rather than better equipment, so I would prefer more cosmetic or horizontal progression post game like more shards that aren't necessarily better just different.
as far as level goes I like the way Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is about to do it, have your level carry over to new game+, but give people the option to sell their levels for a currency to unlock cool new stuff. gives people the option of choosing what level they are throughout the whole game and that way you still always feel good when you level up as you get something out of it

Find it hard to believe that mask isn't supposed to get worn for cultural reasons. Looks almost identical to the Anbu Black Ops masks from Naruto and those get worn.

if I really had to choose something to be added on post release I would have to go with the online stuff. the main reason I want the full game (and by full game I mean all stretch goals) to be released at launch is to have everything on a physical cartridge you can't rewrite later to add stuff to and the main reason I want that is because not everyone always has internet access, servers go down making patching later impossible, it makes sharing the game impossible in an area without internet, and a few other reasons that are all internet related. So for the online stuff they just aren't important to have those physically anyway as far as I'm concerned. really hope they find a way to release everything at once though, at least physical release anyway, maybe have a delayed physical release after the digital release?

for the motion controls I was thinking more on the lines of Splatoon 2s where its just a slight tilt up to aim up and a slight tilt down to aim down. holding down R to temporarily enable motion controls and ZR to use the shard would probably work great, though I'm unsure if R is already assigned to anything else, and remember that the point of the motion controls in the first place is so you don't have to take your thumb off jump/attack buttons in an intense boss fight where doing so is a death sentence. if done right it would get a whole lot more use out of directional shards for the Switch version, as by the looks of it now and for other versions of the game I can't see them getting much use when using them makes it difficult to jump out of an attack or use other skills in combat.

beautiful environment that also looks like there's many places to explore and go other than just left or right and just like to say job well done with smoothing out the jump animation, it all looks and sounds great.

HD Rumble/ Motion controls. and to specify I'm when I say motion controls I'm specifically speaking of the directional shards, would be nice to have an option of moving the controller around (not required) to aim the directional shards instead of the right thumb stick where I would have to take my thumb off attack buttons and would be more difficult to multitask directional shards with regular attacks

when it comes to cheat codes how I hope it gets implemented is they hide all the codes throughout the castle in the background to encourage to help encourage people to look everywhere in the castle and pay attention to whats going on in the background and then take pictures of all the beautiful scenery in order to remember what the cheat codes are, then once you beat the game for the first time you then unlock the ability to type in those cheat codes and start using them. of course those who don't want to, or cant find them all can still just look them up online and type them in post game, but I know a lot of us would have a lot of fun looking around all those gorgeous backgrounds looking for codes and taking pictures

1) if I remember correctly this mode was the reason they swapped dev teams which caused the delay away from march 2017 launch as the originally team didn't know much about the procedural generation required for this mode, so it sounds to me like a ton of effort is being put into it. out of all the extra modes that have been promised this is the one that I am most looking forward to by far, so amount of effort being put into the mode sounds about right to me.
2) I am very interested in this game mode.
3) procedurally generated rooms is basically infinite, but per run I'm hoping for maybe an hour or two.
4) I'm pretty sure they are just reusing assets from the main game.
5) I could go either way on this one, in general I prefer starting up from lvl 1 at all times, but Dead Cells has a good way to have more permanent-ish items so I'm good either way
6) other than the high difficulty they all have or the obvious perma death I can't think of anything

was a similar discussion on the subject back when the Switch version was announced. typically dev's don't update unreal past the version they start the project with, however in the case of bloodstained they are most likely forced to update because unreal won't support the Switch until version 4.15 (or somewhere around there) so there's a question of have they already updated (last I heard they haven't even started on the Switch port, so there's a good chance they haven't yet) or will they update soon. so if others are now saying these updates become easier to deal with the closer the version they are currently using is then it sounds to me like it wouldn't be too big of deal either way, hope we can get an official response though.

in general I can agree with a lot of the constructive criticisms brought up on this forum as there is a lot of very smart fans here who can be very informed with exactly what it is they don't like, but I just don't get this whole argument over the Anime looking characters in a realistic environment thing. You guys are destroying all my hopes and dreams of using that virtual date with Hatsune Miku through the Hololens, some of us want anime and reality to be mixed

silentsanctum they have announced a 2017 window, so it should be soon. they probably don't wanna announce anything during all the Odyssey hype, in fact with Skyrim/Doom/LA Noire followed by Xenoblade December 1st my guess is mid December as that's when their going to have the best chance to sell well. personally I've been interested in the game for awhile and it sounds like a perfect fit for the Switch, but looking at steam its about 9GB which would destroy most my internal storage and would rather not buy a Micro SD card for it, so really depends on if they're doing a physical release or not

Oh boy. I'm really not a fan of the new jump. It's like she teleports to the top of her jump arc and hangs there a while before slowly falling down. I don't complain about a lot of things, but this change really seems like it's responding to the common complaint of the game feeling "slow" without considering how it can adversely affect gameplay. It doesn't seem well thought through. I get that you don't like it, but I fail to see how it adversely affects gameplay. if you look at the first arrow that enemy archer fires Miriam jump looks like the speed needs to be right where its at to properly dodge it, it looks so responsive and fun to actually see the telegraph and be able to jump in time without having to foreshadow his movements ahead of time, to me it just wouldn't look right to slow an arrow down just so Miriam's jump could be slower without it adversely effecting gameplay. what I don't like though is how fast the camera jumps up with her that fast, the camera making such quick movements is not something I'm a fan of
