If Con is related to defense like the loading screen says, why is there also a defense stat? there's also an attack stat and though I haven't played the finished game yet (waiting for Switch) in the beta if you increased your STR it would increase your attack stat as well, likely the same for DEF and CON

I don't blame 505 for someone breaking the street date, but what's with that large day 1 patch? it's bad enough there's staggered content, is that patch just for the systems that get it on the 18th or with the week long delay for the Switch version does that version have to deal with it as well? the Switch doesn't exactly have a lot of storage space to spare

Enkeria there was an interview with Frieda Wolf awhile back (the VA for Dominque) which she described some of the types of content she voiced and other characters she voiced and by the sounds of that interview it sounded like a safe bet she was not a playable character. a lot of people assume the 3rd character is either going to be Alfred or Gebel but that's only because they were both playable in Curse of the Moon / they have been well introduced as characters with big roles in the game. I'm very uncertain who the 3rd character will be but I'm hoping for Bloodless and as Zangetsu/Alfred/Gebel are all humanoid bosses themselves I don't see anything that would give them a higher chance of being that playable character than Bloodless

a bit disappointed not everything will be coming out at launch as I like to rush through all the content for games like this a bunch before not touching them again until years later but when I look back at how the beta looked and see all the improvements sense then I gotta wonder how many of those improvements would not have been possible had they concentrated on stretch goals instead or would it have been wise to push the game back another year for all that to happen, doing what they did may have been the right choice.
would also just like to say that I like how the backer exclusive content was handled but the announcement about it was foolishly handled, I say it was foolish because it mentions piracy as the reason and same with no-matter what choice they made concerning the matter there are people unhappy about it and when people are unhappy about things like that its not uncommon to look at the reason given for that decision (in this case piracy) and then use that for the reason to pirate out of spite as a way of proving 505 wrong. you never solve problems like piracy by concentrating on them directly, problems like that get solved through indirect and subtle ways that keep the practice out of the minds of those at risk of it

A few days prior to this kickstarter ending a few thousand Chinese backers had their pledges canceled.
the stated reason was fraud, fraud was assumed because large amounts of backers could be traced back to a couple different credit cards
immediately following those cancelations a flood of complaints filled kickstarter / backer comment section claiming there was no fraud, the reason for large amounts backers using the same credit card was because few Chinese own international credit cards so they grouped up to pay a few people who did have international credit cards so they could use the same card for many different backers.
as time went on the amount of Chinese backers slowly went back up to around where it was prior to the purge as everyone assumed the issue was resolved, but then about 15 minutes before the campaign ended thousands more Chinese backers suddenly had their pledges canceled.
have not heard a reason given as to why those pledges were canceled the 2ed time, but I would assume it was the same reason as the first time

saw the 30FPS coming, but 720p dynamic resolution docked and missing some particle effects in handheld is a bit disappointing, also claiming heating issues for the shitty framerate/input lag at PAX gives some doubt on how well the game will run at 30fps. it may not be anything too bad and I won't know till I see it myself but this sure does kill good bit of the hype, here's hoping the next update brings that hype back

Is not that she screams when she attacks, it's her voice I think. I do hope the game have dual audio. at least for me it's not her voice I don't like, it's some screams sound better than others, specifically not a fan of the whip scream but I'm a fan of the sound the crack of the whip makes so I hope there's an option to turn off the weapon screams if you're concerned about dual audio it has already been confirmed the game will have dual audio, in fact even in that last beta there's a way to swap to Japanese audio with subs (although that's a bug it does prove its in the game already)

on further inspection and testing the beta with his level / gear the difficulty of the boss not only didn't go up compared to the beta as the boss deals the exact same damage and he has the exact same amount of max health, but the bosses difficulty actually went down as the fire shard he uses got a massive buff. at the same level in the beta my fire spell does 11 damage a tic while his does 28

immediate differences from the beta I was able to notice: the visuals have a massive improvement, especially with the lighting. too much talking to tell if the lip sync got any better but would appreciate if anyone else can tell the difficulty changes that I could tell is the Dullahans attack faster now and he has lower base armor as he was taking a lot more damage from everything at the start there's an option to choose difficulty, not sure if Hard/Nightmare were blocked off or not, was assuming Nightmare mode was something you had to unlock after you beat the game once, is that not the case? chest placement and contents are slightly changed

Astaroth a lot of evidence is pointing towards there was issues for the Switch running the game, not good for anyone to deny the issues as that brings out concern in the consumer that the issues they believe exist aren't even being attempted to be fixed if people won't even acknowledge they exist. I hope the issues get fixed by launch, but the way things are looking is the Switch version may face a delay or suffer launch issues

It’s quite alarming as well given the fact Nintendo is far and away Bloodstained’s biggest audience. How do you figure that? Especially considering the Kickstarter didn't even include a Nintendo platform initially. likely based on the sales of Curse of the Moon

there's a lot of talk to be had about the need for Subverse and why more platforms should allow games like it, but the game itself sounds like it concentrates more on cutscenes than it does gameplay, maybe if it goes above and beyond what their last stretch goal is they will finally start talking about things they can add to the game instead of how they can improve the cutscenes but until then I have little hope for it. when it comes to fan service in games I prefer the gameplay to be sexy, not gameplay < post gameplay story

to swap potions, weapons, Shards or even cosmetics I can see the shortcut feature being very useful, it does sound like in the course of what has been estimated to be a 10 hour game I doubt many will make much use of the feature but it helps add replay value for those that want to keep playing and challenge themselves to master the game or even 100% the game as that's a feature I was wanting just from crafting all the available weapons in the beta

gunlord500 I always thought it was free to have your game featured on Nintendo Directs so my instincts say your right about that, however making trailers, especially two different trailers such as in that case there's just no way that was free, trailers take a whole lot of work to create and I've seen the cost of creating trailers be the reason a lot of indi devs don't put trailers on their product page of the Eshop meaning their not cheap to make, so even if paying to be featured on the Nintendo Direct isn't a thing browren may have a point

everything looking much better, really like the hair movement and although I'm not aware of any chandelier movement being shown off yet it sounds like another great improvement.
bloodless looks a bit better now, but mainly the environment surrounding her looks way better, really like the before and after comparison and hope to see more of them in future updates.
it sounds like the light reflector ray will be required to move from one side of a boss to the other without taking damage? there was a combo skill for the katana in the beta that did something similar, is that skill making it into the final game and if so can it be used as a replacement for the light reflector ray only slightly harder to use?

4) There is a Laser Shard shown at a video that Miriam needs to aim it at reflectors to create a trajectory and them teleport using the laser itself. Some mentioned that this power resembles a certain Boss of Curse of the Moon that has the same maneuver (Bathin). Do you believe that is a Shard dropped by that Boss? Maybe by another creature?
Likely just a shard from Bathin, I just hope that shard has some good puzzles to use it on instead of it just being a progression gate
5) At the videos, we can see several new regions. A white marble-like area, a lava-filled cavern, something that looks like a Clock Tower, a Golden area with stairs...but absolutely no sign of a water area. Do you think Bloodstained will have a water area? (Where Miriam needs to swim or find an ability to go underwater) or maybe Bloodstained will not have a water area?
no interest in water levels, they're never done right. at most I would like a Swamp as I think Swamps fit the Gothic theme well and don't require much if any swimming
6) Some videos show backer portraits moving and acting as if they are enemies to be beaten. What do you think of that idea? Did you like it or you think it is too weird and break the immersion?
saw it coming ever sense Curse of the Moon had portrait enemies, not my favorite enemy but it fits the theme and not immersion breaking
7) Double Jump was shown. When Miriam uses it, she grews some kind of colored fairy wings / crystals on her back. Did you like that effect or would you expect something else?
was hoping she would step on a piece of stained glass but the fairy wings are a lot better than nothing and don't look bad
8) Valefor, Valac and Andrealphus are bosses from Curse of the Moon that showed up on the videos. What do you think of the design of each one in Bloodstained? Did you like it? (If you don't know them at their Curse of the Moon looks, see it HERE)
I like what they did Valac a lot, all the dragons in those video's look great (especially in the Japanese direct) Valefor is decent but he doesn't have the same feel of a Scrooge mcduck money bank that I got from the Curse of the Moons version Andrealphus I'm no fan of his looks in either game but gameplay wise was one of my favorite fights in Curse of the Moon so I hope he at least keeps that going for him
9) At the first video, we can see the large white head of a dog and a black cat that looks blind from one eye (and looks like a cat from a backer portrait in 2018 Demo). Do you think these are just bigger demns or bosses, or they are animals from backers, from the campaign that promised to turn backer pets into monsters in-game? What do you think of them?
they look like regular enemies and backer animals to me, I really like how they turned out
10) Gremory was redesigned a bit and gained a purpleish color at her upper part. Did you like it?
looks good to me
11) What are your thoughts about "Invert!" Shard / Ability, that lets Miriam invert the whole castle anywhere? (aside from areas that doesn't have a celling, as already stated).
If they didn't do something with inverting the Castle I just know some people would complain about it, so as not to be a copy paste type of deal I think what they did turned out great
12) One of the videos revealed who is the "Mysterious Man" that is man that looks like a dark being. What do you think he is? (A Shardbinder, a vampire, a demon?) and what do you think his role will be at the game?
Hybrid mixture between them with vague connections to each
13) It was revealed that the game will have techniques, such as combos, and they can be mastered. What do you think of that feature?
I'm assuming they work like the ones in the Beta and I really liked what few of those there were, I hope they made at least one or two for every weapon type as I think it gives some uniqueness to each weapon type as without them a lot of weapons blend together too much not caring which I use. being able to master and level up those skills explains a lot of how weak Non Katana skills were as most weren't worth using in actually combat, that mastery should help make them be worth using
14) Miriam's customization was revealed. Miriam's hair type and color, her clothes colors and skin color can be changed, alongside boots and head gear that shows up on her body and different scarves. Did you like these options? Did you expected more?
didn't expect to be able to change her skin color green but for some reason I think it fits her well

With the new trailer being released on a Nintendo Direct I'm assuming what's being shown is the Switch version? how different will each version look? does this mean the official marketing campaign is starting so we should expect news for the game to come at a faster pace?

1) Would you agree and/or contribute to a new Kickstarter for a Bloodstained sequel?
depends on how much I enjoy Bloodstained when it does release / how many copies it sells as if it sells too well it would sound greedy to go back to Kickstarter
2) How much would you consider to be "fair" as a goal if Bloodstained sequel required a Kickstarter?
if it does go to a kickstarter it would have to not have any main goal at all and just be there for stretch goals because if it doesn't sell well enough to make a sequel even without all the stretch goals the first game had I would lose too much confidence in a sequel
3) Would you like if Bloodstained followed a consistent timeline (with each game happening after the other one) a convoluted timeline (like Castlevania, where games was released at different centuries and years) or a meta-like timeline (where each game happens at it's own universe, sharing common elements, like most Final Fantasy games) or some other way?
I prefer consistent timelines
4) Would you like to see any character from Ritual of the Night, in the direct sequel of Bloodstained? Who? Why?
that question would be best answered after playing through the whole game.
5) Would you prefer if Bloodstained Sequel followed 2.5D like Ritual of the Night, or something else? (Such as 2D sprite graphics, or a complete 3D gameplay)?
I love how ROTN looks and was always assuming the likely sequel was going to reuse some assets to speed up the development and lower costs, some improvements are expected but I wouldn't want to go too far off course from what the first game is
6) Along the years, Igavania games tried to update or change the usual formula. While Symphony of the Night and Harmony of Dissonance, Aria of Sorrow and Dawn of Sorrow had mostly the same overall idea (Metroidvania gameplay inside a huge castle / fortress-look-a-like) some other games tried something new (Portrait of Ruin had portraits that teleported you to other scenarios, Order of Ecclesia had regions separated from the main castle). Ritual of the Night seems to have followed mostly the classic SOTN formula, with (as of now). Would you like if Bloodstained sequel followed the same formula, or tried something new like PoR and OoE tried? (or something else).
small changes to keep it feeling fresh but nothing major
7) Main character. Male or female? A single character or multiple characters (like Portrait of Ruin)? no preference
8) IGA has stated before that Soul Dominance was the best magic system his team ever created and he wanted to use it again, or variations of it (that's one reason of why Dawn of Sorrow and Order of Ecclesia exists). Bloodstained has the Shardbinder, that is a updated version of Soul Dominance. For a Bloodstained Sequel, would you like if the main character had a magic system following the same premise? (stealing something from enemies and using that as powers) or something completely different? What?
something different as I hope to find in the other playable characters of ROTN as well, not creative enough to know what, wouldn't say completely different as I want something similar I just like small changes to keep things feeling fresh
9) Standard EXP and level, like most Igavanias, or some other kind of leveling system? (Like Lamment of Innocence, that ddn't had level nor EXP, but itens to upgrade Leon Health and Hearts)
better understanding of what should happen after I play the full game, but based on the beta I would prefer no leveling system at all as I was enjoying trying to 100% everything before I beat it with crafting a bunch of cool stuff early on but that was making me way too OP just from level no matter what equipment I used
10) Anything else you would like to add for a Bloodstained Sequel? no

great news to hear Wayforward is coming on board, love some of their work and their work was also very well polished which is something Bloodstained needs work on, maybe the extra staff will give the resources necessary to add hair physics? would be great to get a Belly Dance animation in honor of this new acquisition. what aspects of the game are they being brought on board to help out with? Last time backers were informed that a new team came on board we were told that was a big reason for a delay as it takes time for new members to catch up to what's going on so I just want to say don't worry about another delay, just make the best game possible and keep everyone informed enough to know progress is consistently being made.

if it makes you feel any better I'm having doubts on how valuable the backer exclusive content is going to be anyway. the backer content is not going to be on the physical copies, backers get the exact same physical copy as everyone else just with a code to put in to get the exclusive content. I don't know exactly how Iga is going to handle that for Bloodstained, but I remember importing the physical Japanese version of Gal Gun 2 awhile back which did something similar, same physical version as everyone else but with a code to get an exclusive costume, unlike the costumes you buy as DLC though it's a one time input code that does not get attached to your account, instead it gets attached to the Switch unit itself so that when the day comes my Switch breaks, gets stolen or I upgrade to the next gen or something that content cannot be brought back, it will just be gone forever unlike the physical cartridge or even the DLC I've bought for it that got attached to my account. Bloodstained sounds likely to do the same plus there's tons of talk about about putting most if not all of that content on the basic edition anyway, still wondering on how that talk is going, hope an update clarifies soon
