that Zangestsu fight looks amazing, but not a fan of additional bosses being shown off, starting to feel spoilery. rest of the update looks amazing and I like how equipping that hat actually shows up on the character (makes me wonder how that pure Miriam costume will work.) my Ideal updates going forward when they want to show off actual gameplay would be to show off the areas that have already been shown off so that we can see all the progress the game is making without being spoiled with new areas, Knowing ahead of time most the kingdoms in Mario Odyssey for example has really dampened how I enjoyed that game I would prefer bloodstained not go down that same path.

from what I remember Iga said the E3 2017 demo wasn't going to be available to backers because the alpha build was coming soon, was even rumors of that alpha build coming in august. it sounds like the saying of the alpha build coming "soon" finally means "soon"

Never played SOTN, but what brought me to bloodstained was the art style in a genre I thought only did pixel art, love the goth vibe, interesting story, great music. it just looked leagues ahead of any other sidescroller I've ever played or saw coming when I saw that E3 2016 demo. free gifts are always a nice thing to have

If we are going to talk about making Mana's art the game cover can someone photoshop the name of the game onto it? no matter how much I love it, when it comes to game covers not having the game name on it reminds me too much of mobile game icons as those are too small to fit names, and as someone who can't stand mobile games that's not the impression I want. Either way its a great work of art though, my new phone wallpaper and the best bloodstained art piece I've seen yet

I am reminded of KOTOR and a variety of other Star Wars games where you choose between light and dark side based on your actions, always did like that concept, maybe something similar could work for Bloodstained and replacing dark side with a corrupted skin unlock and light side with the pure Miriam skin unlock. make people choose between one or the other so you need to complete the game twice to get both skins

Woah! Yeah, it could be an demonic and angelic thing going on there, nice thinking purifyweirdshard And if this is the case, it would be very fast for IGA to come up with designs within those couple of days. It must be something similar to the concept that they already have if this is the case. Guns in next update!? Costumes too? ITEMS!? Who knows..! Angel probably already knew about a costume system and they had Angel and demon costumes because they're obvious choices lol Obvious choices indeed, but anything religious usually gets some kind of backlash from those in power as the existence of a God goes against the narrative they need for a communist takeover, Its why North Korea kills Christians, It's why any country under Sharia Law kills Christians, and it's why Hollywood won't fund any biblical movies even though they are guaranteed to make tons of money. Takes courage to put in religious items/costumes, and its that courage that gives me a lot more respect for those involved in Bloodstained

yes, but the last update was a rather large one, and it was said there's a playable Alpha build coming up that their giving out. So shortly before we can play an Alpha build for our selves doesn't sound like much need for an update right now. My guess is all the criticism they received at E3 delayed that Alpha build a bit so they can do things like re-adjust the movement speed. Would like a new update as well, maybe just a small one to know what the status of that Alpha build is

If for whatever reason they feel they need to release an unfinished product why not go the route Dead Cells did? they already need to give out beta access, why not just update that beta access and allow people to purchase that beta access on steam to make what little money they need to complete the game (assuming going over budget is the only reason they would need to release early.) only reason I want the full game on release is because of getting a physical cartridge, I for one wouldn't mind playing the same steam beta as everyone else until that physical cartridge was ready to have the full game.

not many people care anymore about the delayed release for Mighty #9, but everyone cares how crappy the game turned out in the end. It came out crappy? News to me. MNo9 was no AAA title, but for its budget and price point, it did everything I expected, and offered a decent value. never played the game, but its famous for being the shining example of how bad a high budget kickstarter can turn out and there are many youtube video's giving long rants of how bad everything about the game is.

not many people care anymore about the delayed release for Mighty #9, but everyone cares how crappy the game turned out in the end. I would be all for a 2019 release for bloodstained if it meant getting the full game on a physical cartridge. you can't write on a physical Switch cartridge after it has been made so it would feel forever incomplete in my eyes. After all stretch goals are made, and the game actually is complete, then maybe start talking about DLC, but considering what I would want out of that DLC is more story and a bigger main campaign it wouldn't be any different than a Bloodstained 2, so would prefer that effort be put into a sequel that I could also have on a physical cartridge.

1) 16 or 32 bit, prefer 32 bit, but if 16 bit saves resources to be used on the main game I'm all for it. 2) higher the quality music the better, they could even reuse some of bloodstains music. 3) Miriam's in a coma, Anne is 2, Gebel and Johannes just don't sound interesting enough for a full story, Zangestsu and Dominique are characters I want to be playable in the main game (prequel needs to stand out a bit from the main game) which just leaves either Alfred, or I would find it fun to play through the story of the powerful demon that killed off Zangestsu's lost friend. 4) no idea's about a villian. 5) I expect it to be similar to the main game, but have a bit of a different feel to it such as you get from using a different character. 6) location would depend on what story they want to tell, I'm not picky on where it takes place. Length with it being advertised as a mini-game I only expect about an hour, but I don't think that would sell well on its own if they really want to make this a separate game, so if they want other people to buy it as a stand alone probably need at least 5 hours. overall I wouldn't put much pressure on the mini game as its the main game that I really care about.

1) Separate game for the most part, but with shared costume/other cosmetic unlocks shared for all modes.
2) no exclusive items
3) Aim for 1-2 hours per successful run
4) very high difficulty, fine with an option to choose difficulty, but if so that should be between hard or nightmare, don't want any easy mode for this. perma death.

when it comes to IGN they are always nice to those they interview. if they weren't nice they would have more difficulty with trying to get more people interviewed. what I think speaks more for their true feelings is the fact they showed off a list of the 51 biggest games at E3 and Bloodstained didn't make the cut. maybe it was because of how far away the game is from being complete and just made an exception for Metroid Prime 4, but I just don't think IGN has much faith in the game, nor do their readers considering most articles they write on it only get a few comments when other games get many times more.

Iga sounded like he had doubts of some of the Bloodless fight making it into the final game. really gotta find some way to insist he doesn't censor anything, I know from previous forums posts most if not all of us are against censorship of any kind, especially for that fight because that fight is just way too awesome to take away from us.

shards being rare is a good thing. you don't need them all, and if you care enough for a specific mobs shard you can always just farm that mob for awhile. anyone can get lucky spurts on a specific mob every now and then, you don't need the materials to craft the best weapons any time a new mob pops up, even the 2016 demo had too high of a drop rate in my opinion.

this has gotten rid of all my doubts for this game. this is truly shaping up to be a great game, but obviously still looks early development as most of what is shown has very few enemies, what enemies are shown the combat looks a bit slow, most enemies don't attack back (or it at least feels like it as other than the boss/ the knight the attacks just don't look menacing), and there's no music, also really needs more movement on screen to make it feel more lively, but with a year+ to go in development I'm sure things like that will get worked out.

visuals are truly breathtaking. I do agree about the lack of physics a lot of others seem to have, but I wouldn't call that a big deal. main thing is just that Iga takes his time to perfect the game the best he can, no pressure to get this game out on any set date, but lots of pressure to make this game as great as it can be, if this game doesn't turn out great I don't think I'll have the confidence to ever back another kickstarter.

I don't expect the demo to come to consoles, but I really hope those of us that are set to get a console version still get the PC version of the demo. Just because I backed a console version doesn't mean I can't run it on PC, would still love to try the PC demo

he mentioned that you unlock both of the other playable characters when you complete the game for the first time, don't recall that being said before. sounds interesting, between a new game + and two more playable characters after you beat the game I gotta wonder what all is going to change in this second play through. we already know there's going to be a nightmare mode that's completely separate from the new game +, so it can't be just making it harder, will the story change at all?

would be nice if their was a Bloodstained Switch carrying case, need to buy one at some point anyway and Bloodstained would be the perfect theme for it.
