for the petrification system I prefer the random chance like it is myself. I say so because it better allows progression to improve the weapons that have that effect just by increasing the chance, it already has a good purpose of giving an advantage of possibly one hitting tough non-boss enemies and would be great for any area you are greatly under leveled for there's no need to make low level weapons OP by making it guaranteed.
for poison it sounds to me like you haven't tried using it vs Zangetsu as he has a weakness for poison causing it to do significantly more damage to him, very weak effect vs most enemies but useful when you know when to use it. if you do want a more damage over time type of weapon to use in general it could more easily be some other damage type as poison right now is a hybrid splitting it's damage between physical and DOT so they could both live side by side just fine

I like the swing of the whip being unique to give it different uses than other weapons I like how the animation for the whip looks I like the sound effects for the whip but I can't see me using the whip much because of the very annoying scream Miriam makes when she uses it. I like all the other weapon screams she makes, but there's something about the whip scream I just can't stand also missing special combos like the katana and boots have, personally would like all weapon types to have two of. maybe one that attacks in both front and back for when you're surrounded and another that could disarm any enemy for a short period that uses a weapon, or maybe an interrupt.

nice to know how Boss Revenge Mode is going to work. play as the boss and fight Miriam, still wanna know if that's only fight Miriam or if you can fight the other playable characters as well

just checked my email. I ordered the Switch version and the survey page gave me a Steam key saying my console code is not yet available. if I use that Steam key will my Switch code get cancelled? what's going on with getting a Steam key after ordering a Switch code?

roguedragon05 I think you're right about having to wait till the 24th to get the codes, however there is at least one place that has the game for preorder. the U.S. Switch Eshop doesn't even have CoTM on the coming soon section, but the Japanese Switch Eshop has had the option to preorder it for a few days now. not that it really makes a difference, I just think it's interesting

wasn't expecting that till like October, huge surprise and looks better than I was expecting. not a fan of the character models being purely red or purple and such, but the game itself looks awesome

honestly don't even see why this post needs to exist at all anymore, it has a little over 500 responses which is quite a lot sure but no matter how long it stays around I can't imagine it coming anywhere near the responses in the official survey which supposedly have tens of thousands. there was a choice in the official survey to choose succubus and with drastically more people picking their favorite costumes there should be a much better estimate on what fans really want than what is on here. some people may want to just combine the 2 for more accurate numbers, but I disagree with combining those numbers being more accurate. anyone that cares enough to come to the forums to fill out this survey is going to care enough to fill out the official one and do we really want forum dwellers to have more of a voice getting two votes where others only get one?

paid costumes have stat bonuses where free ones don't. personally not concerned about save slots at all though considering I'm getting it for Switch though, it has extra save slots by default just by changing what profile you log in the game with so I don't know if they could take away that ability if they wanted to

Never really cared much for the prequel game, but what I did care about it for was the story, is it still cannon? or is this spin off supposed to be some filler type alternate story that doesn't give a deeper understanding of what the bloodstained universe is like?

not one to care about what social views or politics people have in their personal lives, but with Fryda's social views being the polar opposite of who she voices as Dominique I just hope it didn't leak out onto the character.

doesn't sound like any of these voice actors are using the voice they used for the characters they play so it's difficult to comment on how good of a choice they were, but comparing how informed Angel is keeping us for the development of this game compared to any other kickstarter I've looked into there must be something to brag about. really looking forward to that chocolate orb boss, no idea how a boss can be chocolate themed when they only love it once a year but I always love chocolate themed bosses though a bit curious on how a boss themed around sweets can keep a Gothic atmosphere to the game

I always like enemies to be unique and games with too many enemies that are the same just recolored I usually criticize them for it so I do prefer unique aspect to each of the variants such as different attacks and aggro ranges. Amy's in particular have a bigger issue of lacking attacks in general from what they have shown so far, it's like they are peaceful birds rather than menacing ghosts. a good way to fix that would be to make them lack a physical form altogether so that physical attacks would pass straight through them and to harm them you would need to use any type of magic and then to make that enemy type unique and then each variant could apply a different status effect to you on hit.

1) yes, the smaller breasts look better and they are not so distracting as to detract from the Gothic theme of the game, at least as far as the look of them goes, always prefer breasts to be bouncy and I don't think a good bounce detracts from the Gothic theme.
2) Yes, the darker look is much better.
3) Whatever her shard is I would prefer something that goes with her theme of luring sailors out at night being mistaken for a beautiful women drowning.
4) at least better than most games with food items have it as I always save temporary buffs for when I will need them and never end up needing them so I like permanent buffs, however Xenoblade Chronicles 2 does it best where the food items have very long duration times, are easy to obtain, and auto renew to reuse the same food item as soon as the duration ends, it gives it a nice element of strategy on which type of food item you prefer to have out at any given time without ever worrying about using up good items you may not have many of and still gives purpose to always wanting more of the same food items.
5) I think it fits great, their may be a Gothic theme to the game but do keep in mind Miriam is supposed to be a normal human girl in this Gothic environment, gives a nice personality to her.
6) Sounds to me like the difficulty is spot on, just gotta remember that a nightmare mode was promised for when you want a good challenge on a 100% run and there's supposed to be all kinds of cheat codes to make it harder if you so wish.
7) don't really care where that old shard goes, it was generic and boring, though I realize that not all shards can be interesting with how many are expected to be in the game.
8) no idea about the amount of familiars in the game, but I like how Buer turned out and however the other familiars are I hope they are all unique with not a lot of overlap on what each one does.
Also noticed how the Buer familiar didn't have the ghostly blue glow of all the other familiars we have seen so far, I wonder if that is only because you can interact with it or they have made that change for all familiars, really like how the Buer familiar looks though there does need to be some distinction between a familiar and an enemy so you don't confuse them in big battles
