The problem with Konami is not only not making Castlevania games. But just not really making games anymore. Except for mobile and pachinko (of which they make a lot), they barely do anything at all.
Capcom prioritizes some series over others right now, however, they still make games, and if there is demand and support for a series (money), it is likely that they will do it, and if it works the series has a chance of being revived.
Same with SEGA and Nintendo, and most companies in general.
With Konami in its current state, it's hard to find hope, because they barely care about anything that is not pachinko or mobile. That's the problem, sure Super Bomberman R happened... but it has been a long while already, I'm not sure if it's sign of things to come.
I have no hope about it...
The future of this series lies on fanworks at the moment (similar to a certain famous Capcom series). And we can only enjoy the past of what once was. If Konami ever decides to be even a shadow of its former self (because they're not even that anymore), then I can imagine a possibility.
I avoid trying to dream too much about such a thing, because it's tempting to disappoint me. So unless there is any proof of it, I will probably remain sceptical about it.

I would love to have a beautiful miniature Miriam, sure. But... the thing about amiibos is that they're not too cheap and easy to find where I live. So I don't know if it would be worth the price, however, I still think it is a nice idea.

I agree with DaNastyMan. I can forgive Konami if Super Bomberman R is a sign of a better future. But if they are not willing to do anything worth buying. Then I'm not sure. I think the biggest idea here is: I would like to see them trying. But if it's not good, then I wouldn't want to buy it. If they are willing to put quality games, I'm willing to buy them. Otherwise... no.

I do not have any of these consoles at the moment. However I plan on buying a Nintendo Switch later. The biggest reason is still Bloodstained, but for a physical version of Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth+ and Cave Story+, I just feel tempted to have this particular console. The other reasons are the Nintendo games that I like and will eventually be in that console, but also having Hollow Knight, SK: Specter of Torment and so many good looking indie games, in a portable console that I can also play on a TV. I felt quite amazed at that. I have a passion for portable consoles, and I really like the whole idea of the "NX", it helps that it also has a lot of games in a style that I like (2D, pixel art indies, metroidvanias, RPGs, Neo Geo games, all the goodness).
But well, Bloodstained still is primary the main reason for me to be so interested in that console, aside from being a portable with great potential and good games. Because in all honesty, back when the NX mysteries were still around, I was expecting Bloodstained to be in that console at some point, but I was unsure and even after the Nintendo Switch reveal, back then, there wasn't much in it to interest me, except some few games, since there wasn't much information on what games the console would have all throughout this year, so Bloodstained really became my main reason to excite me for what was kinda of a still "baby" console (this is a silly term, but it refers to how the console was starting out and wasn't that strong in the beginning of the year, so it was taking its first steps, things were ok but slow, until it started to stand on its own pretty nicely and progressively got into the state it is now).
Anyway, I hope by the time its released I will have the console. I'm too excited to wait and I will feel quite anxious if I see everyone talking about how they're enjoying it while I feel all left out. haha

7th Dragon, you choose your own characters to use, generally a team, but conveniently enough, I made only one character and play solo until now. She's a girl with a whip who can intimidate enemies and the more injured she is, the more damage she can deal. Last time I played though, she needed to get stronger, because the King Dragon was giving her some trouble... so hopefully, I will be safe and she needs to grind before giving me any serious injuries.
Honestly though, she only has problems with Dragons, so... yeah, I'm dead, unless I get the help of a Dragon! haha

This game looks pretty interesting. I don't think the trailer is clear enough on how the gameplay is like, but I can get a basic idea out of it.
That said, I would love to play it, although I do not have a PS4, this seems like something I would most certainly enjoy it. The only thing I don't like is the brown, rusty factory scenery that looks a bit boring and even a little generic. But maybe it's not just my preferred type of visual.
It's always nice to see a different type of game out there.

Well, the graphics ARE "inferior" (especially masses of water) and some animations are missing... But, i confess my sin... I prefer the Saturn version, over the PS? ones. Extra areas, extra enemies, extra bosses, extra familiars, playful *BADASS* Maria (her Saturn version is an overpowered freak, compared to the other versions featuring her), Simon alternative costume, extra items, extra weapons, extra gameplay options (third hand), etc. Don't fix what is not broken! As an old gamer, i always prefer story and gameplay, over graphics and animations. Even if the tradeoff is an unstable, severely punished, graphics-wise, product. Saturn version is the CLOSEST thing to a DEFINITIVE edition of this game... And the Japanese audio... You got to instantly fall in love with it! I actually like it more too. And I am sure it could be even better if the people involved in porting it actually used the Saturn's potential. It is the better console overall, and especially better for 2D games. And it could even use the Saturn RAM cartridges for more improvements, faster load times and performance, and overall more possibilities. I can only dream of that, as it would be truly the ultimate version. It's pretty sad that the people involved in the port just rushed everything and didn't care for that all that much. I get that many developers tend to just go on to the most trending, best selling console, and ditch almost anything else or give it a bland treatment, but it's still pretty disappointing.

MorningSun : good taste, and good album you brought up. One of my favorite relatively obscure releases of that year. Nothing jaw dropping, but extremely solid material. Lately, I've been returning to technical death metal which I had put aside for a bit. I'm re-listening to II from Vale of Pnath, one of my favorite records of last year. I can't say I really know much about releases on an year, I just listen to what I like and what I find. I am not really up to date with anything at all. I just find music at random, sometimes old, sometimes newer. Whenever I'm browsing on YouTube I click on what looks like it may be of my interest. That said, I like atmospheric dark music, experimental works, ambient music and ominous melodic music a lot. So I like when metal implements some of that, whatever feels more different than the usual, as for more riff-based works, I like black metal and NWOBHM.

It was a good prologue. I enjoyed what I have seen so far. Animation wise and all, it was great. I am still rather disappointed by the fact that the music is generic and none of the game music is arranged in a form or another.
But it still works in the scenes, so I do not mind as much as I should.
I still wish they put some of the game music on this animation in the next season.
And I can understand why some people don't like all the swearing on it. And I swear it's out of place, but I can understand why they did it in the first place.
Overall, I do not mind it, at least when it drives emphasis to a line or a moment. And in Trevor's case and the drunk people on the bar, I can totally expect it. And how some priests swear too, it actually makes sense to portray their corruption.
It's something I expect to vanish as the series progresses.
So that's why I'm not that bothered.
On the other side, I am sure they did because of the entertainment factor, and how it will attract more general audiences, as opposed to everyone talking in an archaic manner that few would understand. (Something along the dialogue in games would be great though, sophisticated, yet still understandable for the general people).
Again, I didn't mind with Trevor, because it worked really well. But I hope that this does not become the normal if they adapt other games in the series.
Besides, it would work better if each protagonist have different personalities through generations. I wouldn't like to see "Trevor in a different body" every time.
For next adaptations, I would like to see Simon's story (CV1 and 2) and then Leon, before they go to the other games in the series. Of course, that's if they even do more adaptations.

Well, this is an old thread. But I'm a bit disappointed no one else tried. I hope it's not a problem to post in this old thread. The idea of drawing from memory is really nice, I tried more than 1 character, failed all of them, but I guess it's recognizable. Here's my try, it's rather embarrassing to say the least...

This is a lot of money. What actually takes to make a good game is a dedicated team and time. Many really good games were made with way less money (though money required for a game varies as time goes on, so it's hard to compare).
You can even make a really good game with little to no money at all. The money is to pay people, bills, the technology used or the making of the engine and so the people can get full invested with the project. A project with little to no money would be a free time project, but it takes time. A good game can be made in some few years because of the time invested in the project, with of course, the more money you have, the easier it becomes to make the progress quicker.
I don't know completely what goes into making a game, because I have no idea of what happens inside the developers' room. But this is what I imagine it is (along with some common knowledge).
It's similar to what artists may face when making something, like a very detailed piece, animation or a comic. It takes time to do it, and if you have do it on your free time, then it means you can't work on it very fast, you have a job or studies. But you have money to do your work, then you can work on it as much as you have to, you can use every time possible, as you can sustain yourself very nicely. And as long as you have money, you can keep doing what you are working on freely.
In this case, you have a lot people working on this game, and they are being paid with this money (while a lot of other things are being handled with the money too). I am sure there is a lot more that happens, but I don't know much about game developing. haha
I am sure it will be a good game, of course due to the nature of Kickstarter projects (with different things being handled by different people), some things can get messy, but as long as there's a good organizing, it will all end pretty well. I hope the game ends up successful, so the next time they can make a game with the profits of the game itself instead of Kickstarter. I don't know if it will still be Inti Creates or if Iga will have his own studio like Hideo Kojima.
The comment above me makes me imagine it will be the latter, but I will not make any assumptions without any other information.
