fatihg: I remember reading that Iga wasnt a big fan of staggered content.

fatihg: iirc he said that he would much rather have a complete package on release.

lovelydumpling: I remember them saying they were really considering stagger on the extra modes so that the game releases on time, to avoid the Mighty No. 9 delay fiasco where they delayed the entire game just because Multiplayer wasn't finished.

castledan: Staggered release just makes sense. No sense waiting another year because of pointless extra modes that would have never been in the game had it not been for the kickstarter
Jun 22, 2017 23:22:27 GMT -6
castledan: Get the main game out with the IMPORTANT extras and stagger the rest of the modes
Jun 22, 2017 23:23:02 GMT -6
lovelydumpling: ^Complete agreement from me
Jun 23, 2017 0:13:05 GMT -6
lovelydumpling: If anything, staggering the extra modes also gives them more time to properly flesh out these modes as opposed to rush them out to meet the stretch goals and release the game. I can just about guarantee we'll get a delay if we're going to wait on them all.

ZeroSbr: As long as those staggered releases don't cost me memory card space on my Vita, I'm okay.
Jun 23, 2017 5:36:56 GMT -6
purifyweirdsoul: It all worked really, really well for Shovel Knight to release that way. The extras have kept that game in the news for years.
Jun 23, 2017 8:27:01 GMT -6
Galamoth: purifyweirdsoul I had almost forgotten which game made great use of that. Now I want to play Shovel Knight again.

Enkeria Gin: Pizzatime! (Celebrating Midsummer in Sweden usually, but I am home alone...)

Typhoon: unrelated to bloodstained but I snagged a majoras mask link amiibo at best buy today and secured a pre-order for skyward sword link on amazon. Still can't get TP Link

ZeroSbr: I don't think anyone is expecting a game 100x bigger than SotN. Maybe twice as big at most. IGA did promise a castle larger than the largest in any of his games. I just hope he didn't pull a politician on us and make tons of promises he will never keep.
Jun 23, 2017 15:47:36 GMT -6
purifyweirdsoul: He's committed to specifically bigger than 1600 rooms/squares.
Jun 23, 2017 16:17:05 GMT -6
ZeroSbr: rooms/squares? As in the same size squares common to the other Castlevania games? If that's the case, then he has a minimum of at least 1897, which is one square more than SotN.
Jun 23, 2017 17:15:44 GMT -6
ZeroSbr: 1600+ squares and "biggest castle yet" seem like they could be conflicting statements, so...which is it?
Jun 23, 2017 17:16:33 GMT -6
Galamoth: ZeroSbr You can't reliably count all of the rooms in SotN, because they're divided between two different castles. The normal Castle in SotN just contains 942 rooms.
Jun 23, 2017 17:31:49 GMT -6
Galamoth: "IGA's Biggest Castle" is the goal of making 1,600+ rooms for a single Castle, of course. Not dividing them between two.
Jun 23, 2017 17:32:44 GMT -6
Enkeria Gin: Probably 1 castle, yes. Perhaps some AREAS are re-used in some kind of dimension / passage or time travel, in a short section of the game. Modes included with environmental settings.
Jun 23, 2017 17:54:25 GMT -6
lovelydumpling: Yeah... I mean I suppose if you really wanted him to he could just make a 1000 room castle and then flip it upside down to be technically bigger than SotN but... 1600+ unique rooms, I'd have to argue, is a lot more worthwhile.
