Using an effect specific to what kills her is ideal. Chare for fire, freeze and maybe breaking for ice, etc. But if it is physical, and for a little fun what about Miriam taking the damage, falling over and being raised as a zombie, skeleton of some other form of undead? Two reasons for this:
It implies the world continues after she falls.
And
It can be used to introduce Miriam undead enemy types. You know. Just for fun. But this would be a game feature suggestion... Like the topic kind of is.

A concensus is always difficult... With personal taste and comparison of works...
But I'd like to interject before it is closed...
There is and always have seen quality difference from what Inafune-san has been involved with versus Igarashi-san.
Iga-san's has always insisted on more quality to make the game more immersive (he started as a programmer). Where as Inafune-san it depends on his role in the development (he started as an illustrator and object designer). Being a higher up at Capcom then breaking off to form Inter-Cept and Com-Cept kind of meane he was more involved in the internal works of the teams then the game development itself. It really depends. Inafune-san tended to settle when he could cut some corners.
I cannot say that Iga-san's has cut corners, as that is typical in the industry but with what he is involved in just feels like there is more quality. Could be the Capcom work environment versus Konami or their roles before now (Inafune-san getting to be part of the higher ups with Iga-san's remaining producer).
Inte-Creates was initially formed by ex-Capcom staff who worked on the SNES Megaman (X) games. So they are used to Inafune-san's direction rather Iga-sans. But they are usuling what they got to show off what they can work with, not something in final. There is massive differences between alpha work, beta work and the gold work. Iga-san's will ensure quality or he wouldn't have gone the route he did. Kickstarter to be his own team versus other producers to have to have a consensus...
I trust Iga-san more so that Inafune-san. They are just a world of difference. Neither are up to Kojima-sans level of insisted quality but Iga-san is closed than Inafune-san. I am not implying one is worse than the other (or that I'm using personal taste for this), I am however suggesting that different roots and roles has led to noticeable quality difference.
Inti-Creates has done all kinds of work. 2d, 2.5d, 3d... They will be able to commune what Iga-san wants. Or he wouldn't have chosen them. He would have gone with Arc Systems, VanillaWare, WayForward Technologies or Snk Playmore for a stretch...

That gave me an idea: what about having an Alucart mini boss battle somewhere in the castle? Alucart could be an inverted Alucard or something.
With a bestiary note of how 'unlucky' he was to cross Miriam.

Speaking of helmets but changing the topic slightly, what about something along the lines of a hachigane or a metal reinforced headband kind of head protection? Something like that would work for Miriam, especially with the other head attire she already has.

If I recall, old time Germans would participate in medieval warfare with little clothing as well. Which helped form the 'berserker' label. So less hindrance the deadlier it is for injury but also the more beneficial it is for mobility. It is a terrible double edged sword...

Sectional plate mail or half plate. For her thighs it might to imply it doesn't hinder her mobility. The legs would be heavy but she could twist and have less strain with moving them. Weight being the issue, not something folding or otherwise getting in the way of her legs lifting.
For torso, outside of artistic sense, it may be to imply she isn't a full blown warrior. So lacking training with heavy armors and such it may be to offer protection while not letting anything get in the way of her body twisting, breathing (not necessary for character but for suggestion to the hindering) or something else. The Victorian age didn't have full clade armors like times before. So weaving metal plates with cloth and leather is the stylistic sense they are interpreting from the time. To give it a class as well as some effectiveness.

The design for her shoulders and arms in general is both classic as much as it is practical. Old times it was typical for the offensive arm to be less hindered by material with the defensive arm being clade with material.
Then the fictional design part. Of looking cool, serving as conceptual (shows both sides) and showing artistic tastes. For Miriam, it also demonstrats her progress of crystalization, being more female designed (show off some of her left breast and shoulder) and character personal taste.
I've seen lots of armed and armored sided of characters. Ranging from Assassin's Creed to Legacy of Kain. So ignoring practical means it may be more artistic. I'm just happy it wasn't designed by Techmo. Or it would have been over sexualized...

I dunno. Miriam seems more like Pandora. Though it would be a cleaver throwback to use any of the such. And might secure a little funding for using/advertising something Megaman.
Miriam as Pandora. Zangetsu as Prometheus. And perhaps Transformed Albert for Gebel. But that may be over thinking a little.

It certainly is a 'train' load of accomplishments for the project. Never saw such at the caboose but once it started rolling it just kept going.

I'm all for it. While running from it. Consider all/most of the game takes place in a castle, I'm not sure there would be need/place for a train. A ghost train boss would be kind of cool though. But again, hard to fit into the narrative of this game. If this game were structured more like Simon's Quest/Order of Ecclesia then that would be easier to accommodate. If they really wanted to, they could add in a train port in a large back room area. Suggesting train support helped maintain the inhabitants. But that is for a non-summoned castle. In this case, it could be a ghost train of sorts or a prison train sending 'subjects' for experimentation and/or demonification.

What about a forum newsletter? Or online mini magazine cataloging the events of the week of month? Have it be a topic all it's own to allow members to download if they wish.
Could mention forum games, key Bloodstained topics (if any developer or Iga expressed interest in one and communicates it), podcast summary or retrospective (what would participants change if they could go back, thoughts that didn't get communicated well or fully enough, etc), showcase community arts (artwork, crafts, remixes, etc).
But it might be quite a bit of work for something that might only barely take off. Or might be a draw point for communication effectiveness.
Just an idea.

After the Direct. I was happy and not so happy with Geno. It is nice he got a throw back but it is a bummer he isn't an actual combatant.

The only DLC I want to see is "After beating the game, unlock Sephiroth and Aeris for the full game". What about Zack? Would he fit there given it was his story with those two to begin with? Makes you wonder what possible dlc they may cook up. I think 'what if?' scenarios would be cool. Alternate costumes are a safe bet (Advent Children Tifa costume please, don't care much for her original look). Other than that Horse Chocobo Armor Costumes are most likely a given. But what about weapons, magic or enemies? Other potential Weapons. Other reunion candidates that could be deep like Kadaj. Alternatively, how much of the Advent Children reunion candidates do you think might influence some of the Jenova spawn in the remake? They didn't play much of a robe outside Sephiroth but after Advent Children I think that part of the plot might be flushed out more. Or what roles, if any, Genesis or Weiss could potentially play...

The last few Igavanias included an enemy bestiary (Aria/Dawn, Portrait and Order). With all enemy stats, drops and special items (souls/glyphs). I don't recall if each one had a small bio of the enemies but some did and I think it would be welcomed in Bloodstained.
I assume we will get something of a bestiary for enemies. It just leaves 'how much' will be present.

It is because the original is 'perfect' that they chose to add more. Competing with the original is not something they can do without the original conceiver and writers. Without Sakaguchi-san, they couldn't do the same thing. Different artistic tastes.
But just the same, they want to let you explore and immerse yourself in the world to let you have a different experience. Potentially including the content that was cut from the original.
They know you can always go back to the original; it is openly available. So they aim for something more.

It'll be nice with him having absolute creative control. And if budget gets in the way he knows what to limit or cut.
About time Sony gets another exclusive. They have been limited due to Microsoft time exclusives...

That could be cool too. Use dual audio to suggest that something bitter-sweet just transpired. Perhaps even make the game flicker and [do the Hideo black screen] slowly show 'game over', or have the background illuminate or 'carve' out the saying in SotN when you die "Let us go out this evening for pleasure". or something.

Not including Konami [now] Kojima-san is well respected in the business. Up there with Sakaguchi-san or Inafune-san.
Helping build the company that ultimately turned it's back on them. Internal politics mainly. His third party support is most likely why Konami is enforcing his 'paid vacation'. To keep him from joining up with whoever offers him what he wants.
