I had a case of the "ooh shiny shiny's" for a good chunk of Decemeber so I didn't play much of the games I had started since my last post, though I did finish 3 games (Transformers Devastation, Theatrhythem: Curtain Call, and Mario Golf: World Tour) before Christmas. On Christmas I ended up getting a bunch of games as gifts (Xenoblade Chonicles X, AC Syndicate, Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia, Star Wars Battlefront, Sunset Overdrive, Dead Rising 3, and Alien Isolation) so I've been slowly playing through those games (I've got 45% of AC Syndicate done and it's by far my favorite AC game in a while, I've completed 30% if Order of Ecclesia, got to chapter 5 in Alien Isolation, played about 2 hrs of both Star Wars Battlefront & Xenoblade Chronicles X, and haven't touched Dead Rising 3 or Sunset Overdrive) since.

I got this game a few years back as a Christmas present and while I'm not big on RPG's (especially ones that are Turn Based) I really enjoyed this game (I liked how the Brave & Default system worked) up until the point when sh!t started to get really really really really really really really repetitive (it got so bad that I purposely tried settling for the bad ending just to try and be done with the game.....I've still yet to beat that final boss cause I need to grind and grind and grind and grind and well you get the point....in order to beat them) and shortly after that I stopped playing the game (by that time I had put in a little over a hundred hours into the game) all together though I do plan on finally trying to finish it this year. I just beat it a couple days ago after starting it a couple years ago. With minimal spoilers there's simply a part of the game that forces a bunch of repetition. I decided to finally go back to it and tough it out, and read up on a few OP strategies including a good grinding spot, so now everyone is at level 99 and I have all jobs maxed if anyone needs a friend for that. I can also give some tips on strategies and such. It picks up a little bit, but only slightly. Still I am excited for Bravely Second. I'd definitely be interested in some tips & strategies cause I need to do a sh!t ton of grinding so I can finally beat that one "final" boss and even though I was not a fan of the first game's repetitiveness I'm also looking forward to the sequel, hopefully we'll get some more info on the game before this year's E3.

As the saying goes "never say never" but if there were a few games that I'd like to see that (probably....ok mostly like) won't ever happen well they would have to be:
1. Unnamed 2.5D Fighting game featuring famous horror movie heroes & villians (I know about Terrordrome but I'm talking officially licensed with original surviving actors providing their voices and is sold in a retail store for consoles & PC)......hell it'd be even better if Neatherealm the makers of Mortal Kombat X got to do this .
2. A new Dino Crisis that didn't involve mutant dino hybrids in space and brought back Regina
3. A new Onimusha Warlords game that uses the RE Revelations 2 gameplay engine
4. A new Parasite Eve game that has a new main character & story, but it has nods to the first game and uses the Final Fantasy XV combat system
5. A new Star Wars Rogue Squadron game that has every single ship from every Star Wars movie available in the game (there would be no DLC/Pre-order exclusive vehicles), it allows you to relive infamous space battles from every Star Wars movie (all DLC for the game would involve bits from Episodes 8 & 9), would have a online multiplayer objective based mode (think along the lines of capture the flag or Conquest/Rush from the Battlefield games but with space ships), would have a single player story mode set between episode 6 & 7, and would have local 4 multiplayer mode with deathmatch, team deathmatch, and racing/obstacle course game types.

@ H & Goosesausage - yeah I know and like I said in my OP these were little nitpicks (well except for the Poe thing and the thing with the lady they visit to get BB-8 back to the Resistance having Luke's lightstaber.....which is something I just thought about/remembered, cause both briefly had me scratching my head in the theater) that didn't really take anything away from my enjoyment of the movie and I hope that these things are sorta addressed (in someway) in the next two movies. @ Goosesausage - It's been so long since I saw Empire (about 6 - 7 years) that I had completely forgotten about that (I purposely went into the movie cold as I wanted to go in with as much of a neutral/non hyped mindset cause the last two times I went to see a Star Wars movie in theaters I went in super hyped and came out utterly disappointed both times)

I saw this the other day (Friday) and overall I really enjoyed the movie, so much so that I went out and ordered the movie's soundtrack (found out Target was the only retailer outside of Disney Music Emporium with an exclusive version of the soundtrack) as well as the new Star Wars Battlefront game (I was gonna pass on it until the Ultimate/Definitive edition with the game & all the DLC came out for $40, but I saw the main game got marked down to $40 for Christmas then I ended up receiving a $15 GS gift card as a early Christmas gift. Throw in a free Kilo Ren POP vinyl bobblehead that usually goes for $12 - $15 when you buy the Standard Edition through GS.com and well I could no longer resist the pull of the "Dark" side ) though like most people I do have a few nitpicks that I hope will be resolved/addressed in Episodes 8 & 9. 1. Finn being able to use a lightsaber, I know the movie was very very lightly hinting that Finn might of, sort of, kinda have some kind of force/Jedi abilities (at the beginning of the movie when Kilo Ren senses something he stops and turns to see Finn in Storm Trooper gear staring at him, Finn being a quick study/becoming a good shot in a tie fighter when he's never been in/operated one before) but I feel that that aspect should have been played up a little more before Finn starts using the lightsaber towards the middle of the movie cause with out it it just makes it feel like anyone can up and grab/use a lightsaber which to me is kinda troublesome as it was established (or at least I believe it was....it's been a while since I've seen the original trilogy) in prior movies that only Jedi/those who are able to tap into or use the force are able to use lightsabers.
2. They don't establish/explain the different factions and why the New Republic & The Resistance are not the same thing when they should be the same thing given how Return of the Jedi ended or how remnants of the old empire are still around and are still a threat.
3. What happened to Poe after the Tie Fighter crashed and why didn't he go looking for BB-8 or Finn
4. 2 noobs ( I think Rey had more hand to hand fighting experience than Finn, but neither had any real prior experience or training using a lightsaber) being able to go toe to toe (for the most part) in a lightsaber duel against a (seemingly) well trained & powerful Sith and were able to not only survive, but in the case of Rey kick his punk@$$ all over the place.

I'm confused by how the only physical version of the game is (for the moment at least) only available for PC/Mac and that it's only available through the $100 or higher tiers.

I ended up getting some (imo) good game deals from the Square Enix web store and GameStop for Black Friday/Cyber Monday though I would have gotten even more stuff from the SE store if they hadn't run out of copies for The World Ends With You DS ($6), Chrono Trigger DS ($6), & Kingdom Hearts 2.5 ReMix ($8) so damn fast.
- Physical PS1 copies of FF Anthology, FF Chronicles, & FF IX for $4.50 ea - Theatrhythm: FF Curtain Call Limited Edition for $10 - Lara Croft & the Temple of Osiris PC Gold Edition for $6 - Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII on PS3 for $8 - Transformers Devastation (Xbox One) - On sale for $30 only paid $5 after using a $25 gift card - The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt (Xbox One) plus a Steel Book Game Case - $30

Paranorman actually surprised me. It was a great animated film. Yeah it surprised me as well, which was part of the reason (the other part is because it's f****ng awesome) why it ended up making my list.

I recently finished the story mode for WWE 2K16 (WWE 2K Showcase mode), Assassin's Creed Unity, & Rise of the Tomb Raider and I'm currently in the process of playing/alternating between Fatal Frame V: Maiden of Black Water & Yoshi's Woolly World.

Last call for this KS. I'll be playing the beta. Let me know if anyone can join me. I'll also be playing the beta (though hopefully it will be for Xbox One instead of PC) and one of the backers has also created a new website ( www.f13tg.com/) where backers can submit their gamertag so other backers can add/play against them when the game comes out.

I have a few "confessions"
- I actually liked Lords of Shadow and was (until Mirror of Fate and LoS2 came out that is) excited to see where they were gonna go with the story - Up until a few years ago I had never beaten any of the NES Castlevania games (I've now beaten 1 & 3) and hadn't even played Super Castlevania IV before - I think Castlevania Bloodlines is better than Super Castlevania IV

I'm a big big fan of horror movies especially 80's slashers so I was really looking forward to a game that was announced last year called "Slasher Vol.1 :Summer Camp" by Gun. Media. Well it looks like Summer Camp is no more, it's now officially being called Friday the 13th: The Game, that's right folks, the company behind Slasher Vol.1: Summer Camp have obtained the video game rights to Friday the 13th and are turning it into an official Friday the 13th game. Because of that they have launched a Kickstarter in order to raise funds so they can better utilize the Friday the 13th license. Based on the pitch video this game is gonna be awesome as it will have the support and involvement of Sean S. Cunningham (Creator, Writer, Producer, Director of Friday the 13th) , Tom Savini (Special FX guru responsible for the look of Jason Voorhees in Friday the 13 th parts 1 & 4), Harry Manfredini (Composer responsible for the infamous Friday the 13th cha cha cha kill kill kill theme), and 4 time (VII,VIII,IX, X) Jason Voorhees actor Kane Hodder. Edit: There is also now an official site for the game here

@ Goobsausage - Nice, I had completely forgotten about Mask of the Phantasm as it's been a long long time (nearly 8 years) since I had last watched it. @ Havok - I didn't even know there was a The Further Adventures of Joker comic, I might have to check that out. @ H - Same here, it's part of the reason it's up there as one of my favorite Batman movies (I really liked John DiMaggio's Joker "Awww party pooper, no cake for you" and Jensen Ackles' Red Hood), unless you want physical copies now is a pretty good time as a bunch of the digital issues have been marked down to a dollar this week for Batman day over at Comixcology & DC's online shop and tomorrow select digital Batman graphic novels are suppose to go on sale (If you want an idea of which ones are being included in the sale you can find a short list at www.ign.com/articles/2015/09/22/dc-celebrates-batman-day-with-huge-digital-comics-sale-and-cupcakes ) through a bunch of different online retailers. As far as comic recommendations go I can't really recommend any of the older comics cause I honestly haven't read them, but when it comes to the New 52 stuff if you haven't read any of the comics in the Endgame story arc they are imo definitely worth checking out (I really liked the setup with the Justice League at the beginning, the ending, and the new "mystery" surrounding The Joker's origin), but I would wait til the 29th of this month before trying to check it out as that is when the collected version (called The Joker: Endgame) is going to be released. As far as movies go quick question have you seen Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker? if not then I'd recommend it especially if you are a fan of both Batman: The Animated Series and the Batman Beyond animated TV series.

With the annual Batman Day just around the corner (Sept 26th) I got to thinking that it would be fun to discuss our favorite (i.e. not which ones were the best, just the ones you like the most) Batman stories throughout the various types of media (or if you want your least favorite ones) like movies (Live Action or Animated), tv episodes (or if you want favorite Batman TV series), video games, comics/graphic novels, etc. So lets get this party started shall we......HAHAHAHAHA Favorite Batman Movie: When it comes to Batman movies I tend to like most of the ones I've seen (the only real exception was Batman & Robin.....) so it's kinda hard to pick a favorite, but if I had to I'd go with The Dark Knight over some of my other personal favorites Batman Returns & Under the Red Hood. The main reason I enjoy The Dark Knight over the other movies I mentioned is Heath Ledger's portrayal of the Joker, which I felt really captured the Joker's deliciously twisted, unpredictable nature and brought some genuine fun to the movie that looking back kinda made Nicholson's performance as the Joker in Tim Burton's Batman imo seem a bit lackluster/phoned in. Favorite Batman Comic/Graphic Novel: When it comes to the Batman comics/graphic novels I honestly haven't read many of them (prior to the New 52 launch I had only read 3 Batman comics....what I was a Marvel kid growing up okay) as I was introduced to some of the more important Batman stories in other mediums (like Under the Red Hood and Batman: The Animated Series), but I'm slowly making up for that by visiting some of the more "classic" stories that haven't really been done in other mediums (I recently picked up The Long Halloween and will start reading it soon, I also plan on picking up a digital version of The Killing Joke which is supposedly going on sale later this weekend) just yet. Though that doesn't mean I don't have a favorite Batman comic/graphic novel, on the contrary, I really enjoyed both Death of the Family and Endgame runs as well as the first issue of the New 52 relaunch of Detective Comics all of which (like most of the "classic" Batman comics/stories it seems) features the Clown Prince of Crime. While all three are imo really good my favorite one of the bunch has to be Death of the Family which starts off with the Joker reclaiming his face (which was taken/cut from him by new New 52 villain the Dollmaker) from the GCPD in a deliciously twisted manner which I don't want to spoil and ends with the Bat Family literally at each others throats. Favorite Batman TV Episode: While I was tempted to just pick the whole Batman: The Animated Series instead of a single episode due to how many amazing episodes there are littered throughout the series I felt that there was only a handful of episodes that, looking back, really resonated with me throughout the years such as Heart of Ice, Two-Face, Almost Got Im, Mad Love and Tyger Tyger. So what is my favorite Batman TV series episode? Well it would have to be Beware of the Grey Ghost which features the voice of 60's TV Batman Adam West as a washed up TV actor who gets dragged out of "retirement" by Batman when a mad bomber uses the same MO as a villain from an episode of the old Grey Ghost TV show. The main reason this episode is my favorite (other than the imo awesome animation/art style and excellent writing) is because it shows us a new side to Bruce Wayne/Batman that we (to my knowledge) rarely got to see in the comics or other mediums, that Batman is at times just like us, a fan, at heart. Favorite Batman Video Game: This was imo by far the easiest one to decide/choose as there are imo only a handful of truly good Batman video games (approx 8 of the 20 or so Batman games out there) and my favorite one of the bunch is also imo the best one out there, Batman: Arkham City. This game essentially took one of my biggest gripes with Arkham Asylum (piss poor boss fights) and blew it out of the water with a slew of awesome boss fights (like the amazing Mr. Freeze fight) it also did everything bigger and better than Asylum did. Usually this isn't a good idea, but like some rare movie sequels (Aliens, Terminator 2,etc.) it imo somehow manages to work out in it's favor making it even better than it had any right to be. Sure the game's story isn't perfect, they went a bit too crazy with the Riddler trophies (over 600) and Hugo Strange as a villain turns out to be a bit of a joke, but those imo are minor issues in an otherwise stellar game.

Lets see other than living my life/working I will (and have been) passing the time by
1.Starting to get into vinyl records (late last month I went out and bought my first record player along with my first 3 records as well as pre-ordered 3 more including the Battletoads soundtrack)
2. Playing a bunch of video games (I've played through at least a dozen games since the end of the Kickstarter and am currently playing through The Phantom Pain) and I plan to play through many more (including Project Scissors: NightCry & Perception, both of which were games I helped back/Kickstart) before Bloodstained arrives.
3. Watching movies/TV shows (mostly horror related, for instance I recently binge watched Penny Dreadful Seasons1 & 2 and have pre-ordered the Tales from the Crypt: Demon Knight Blu Ray, I'm also looking forward to TV shows Scream Queens, American Horror Story: Hotel, and Ash vs. the Evil Dead) and planning which upcoming movies I plan to go see in theaters (at the moment it sits at Goosebumps, James Bond 007:Spectre, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and The Hateful Eight)
4. Starting another season of fantasy football (last year I made it to the Championship game for the first time, but ended up losing, hopefully this year I'll be able to make it back and finally win it all)

I was originally going to be getting it on PS3, but now that I've got an Xbox One I'll be getting it for that instead even though I was thinking of cancelling my pre-order due to the whole Konami "situation". In the end I decided to keep it mostly as one last ode/nod of respect to Hideo Kojima who's work I (for the most part) enjoy and since it is Kojima's last game it will also be the last Konami game I buy either new at launch or digitally.

Well it looks like it's time for an update since it's been almost a month since my last one.
Tomb Raider: The Definitive Edition - Beat it about a week after my last update, still really really enjoyed it
Rare Replay - I've played several of the games included in this collection (Jetpac, Battletoads, Battletoads: The Arcade Game, Grabbed by Ghoulies, RC Pro AM, Blast Corps, Killer Instinct Gold) beating two of them (Battletoads: The Arcade Game & JetPac) and reached at least 50 of the game's 330 or so milestones
Ori and the Blind Forest - Beat it earlier this week and I gotta say the more I played it the more I started to enjoy this neat little game
Final Fantasy Type 0 HD - I initially started playing this game getting well into Chapter 1 before getting sidetracked by the release of Rare Replay, but I did enjoy what I've played so far and plan to (eventually) get back to it once I've finished playing MGS V: The Phantom Pain which is due out in less than 2 weeks.
Final Fantasy XV Episode Duscae demo - This digital demo came with my copy of Final Fantasy Type 0 HD and so far I've only managed to play a small bit of it (from what I understand doing everything in the demo takes a little over 2 hrs and I've only played it for less than 30 mins which was just enough to complete the tutorial and do some lite exploring) though I did enjoy what I've played of the demo (especially the battle system) and will definitely try to play all the way through it before the full game comes out sometime next year.
Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes - Since this was one of this months free XBL GwG games I figured I'd pick it up even though I've already played though the PS3 version last year for shits and giggles. So far I've only completed the main "Ground Zeroes" mission and outside of some messing around to prep for The Phantom Pain I don't plan on playing much more of this game since I practically 100 percented it (achievement/trophy wise) last year for the PS3.
Batman: Arkham Knight - Since my last update the Red Hood, A Matter of Family and 89 Batman Packs came out, all of which I have (with the exception of A Matter of Family's Weird War Tales achievement) 100 percent completed. I've also completed 77% of New Game Plus mode leaving my current achievement count at 78 out of 80.
Killer Instinct - Since my last update I've completed story mode for 3 more characters (and in the process figured out how to regularly perform an Ultra Combo for 2 of those characters), played a few online matches (where I continually got my ass handed to me), and tried out the Season 3 Rash Character preview which I really enjoyed with the exception of Rash's Ultra Combo which I felt was a bit lame.
Coming Soon: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain - had this game pre-ordered for months and unless a major change happens at Konami (like the firing of all upper management and/or the removal of the company's owner as company president plus banning him from making company decisions) then this game will be the very last Konami game I'll buy new or digitally so that Konami will not get any (more) of my money.
