Well last week I got an Xbox One (500 GB Master Chief Collection version) along with Batman: Arkham Knight (it was free with my system purchase) so I've been playing through that (last night I 100% completed the game's main mode and am now 12 Achievements shy of 100% completing it, most of them involving the AR Challenges and the Batmobile) and I've also been trying out the "free 2 play" version of Killer Instinct (never actually played a KI game before so was kinda curious about it) and it's honestly got me thinking about getting the digital only "Complete Collection" version.

I was backer # 5614 and had backed the project a few hours after it had launched on May 11th (I found out about it while at work so I couldn't back it immediately)

So as I am a relatively new user to Steam this is has been the first summer sale I've been through. So just out of curiosity for the other Steam users here on the forums, what deals did you all partake in this time around? I had a LOT of older games that I needed to "catch up" on so I kinda went a little crazy when I started seeing them for $2, $3, and $5. So I'll start. Here's my haul... Axiom Verge + Soundtrack BioShock BioShock 2 BioShock Infinite (franchise deal) Castlevania LoS Castlevania LoS 2 + DLC Castlevania LoS: Mirror of Fate (They had all three for next to nothing.) Child of Light Darkest Dungeon Deus Ex: Game of the Year Edition Deus Ex: Invisible War Deus Ex: Human Revolution Deus Ex: The Fall (Again they had a really cheep price on the whole deal) Dungeon of the Endless Dust: An Elysian Tail (I already had it on my XB360 but I wanted to see it played on a PC in full HD ) Fallout Fallout 2 Fallout 3 - Game of the Year Edition Fallout New Vegas + DLC (Another franchise deal) Guacamelee! Gold Edition Metro 2033 Redux Metro: Last Light Redux (have this on my XB360 too, but I didn't get the good ending and again I'd like to see it rendered better) Portal (ya.... I know.... should have played this one a LONG time ago... but life ya know?) Portal 2 Project Zomboid Wolfenstein 3D (Part of WolfPack - A special deal they were running) Return To Castle Wolfenstein (Part of WolfPack - A special deal they were running) Wolfenstein 3D: Spear Of Destiny (Part of WolfPack - A special deal they were running) Wolfenstein: The New Order Rouge Legacy Shadowrun Returns Shadowrun: Dragonfall - Directors cut Shovel Knight Transistor + Soundtrack UNEpic Unreal Gold Unreal II: The Awakening Unreal Tournament: Game of the year edition Unreal Tournament 2004 Unreal Tournament 3: Black Edition (They had the Unreal games as a single pack for I believe it was $10) So ya... That's what I landed. Who else got what? Dayam that's a lot of games, as for my haul, well I ended up getting: Castlevania Lords of Shadow 2 + all DLC for $11 Contrast Collector's Edition for $5 DreadOut for $5 King of Fighters XIII Steam Edition for $5 Skullgirls DLC characters Squigly & Big Band for $4 Sonic CD for $2 White Night for $7

With the news of Xbox One getting backwards compatibility, if CVHD ends up on the list of available games, I'm wondering if we'll see a resurgance in folks playing it. I'm SPAZwazza311 on Xbox Live if anyone wants to add me. If it does become backwards compatible then yeah I'll probably pick it back up if only to finish hard mode and maybe try going after the rest of the game's achievements (after the Hunter Legend Achievement I'd only need to get Grim Synergy, Poetic Justice, and Boned) that I'd need to reach 100% completion.

I'm kind of glad they clarified that as it was pretty vague what Sony's involvement was and it means that there is now an outside shot that the game can be ported over to Xbox One & Wii U as well. Now they just need to improve their tiers (adding more options at the sub $100 level) so it'll get new backers as well as entice current backers at the $29 tiers or below to raise their pledge.

I recently became a backer for this game as well and was happy to see that they had added some new physical reward tiers (I had visited their Kickstarter page prior to the Bloodstained kickstarter and I don't recall them having the $60 physical collector's edition tier or a $35 physical version of the digital dabbler tier available) to the Kickstarter campaign. Hopefully this game will get funded as it looks like it'll be an interesting experience.

In my experience most Betas (they usually are the ones that require you to either pre-order the game or sign up weeks in advance) are multiplayer oriented so they basically give you a limited number of maps (which they will rotate new maps in & out depending on how long the beta is)to playthrough and let you level up/upgrade your character as you play matches online against others, unfortunately you can't keep your stats once the Beta ends. They also usually have a special forum setup and restricted just to the Beta players (to access it you'd usually need your email address and an access/beta code)so that you can leave feedback (usually talking about bugs and other issues that crop up) for the dev team.

Games I still need to get: All the DS Castlevania titles. All the PS Castlevania titles. ( I have Lament but I've never finished it) And I do want to Get LoS, LoS 2, and Mirror of Fate just so I say that I gave them a chance. Still debating on Mighty No. 9 Still debating on Guacamellee. Other than that I'm just keeping my eyes open. - Guacamelee is a pretty good game and has lots of fun references to other game series, though I do recommend playing it with a controller. I first played it on the PC using mouse/keyboard controls and man it got painful (hand cramps) after a while - of the LoS games the first one was imo alright (not bad, but not great) , haven't played the second one (but I do plan to buy & play it eventually), and Mirror of Fate.....well I really enjoyed the first 2/3rds of the game, but by the time I got to the last third it imo really started to lose steam also collecting all the in-game collectables was definitely not worth all the trouble (all you get is a d@mn 5 -10 second "bonus" cinematic tacked onto the end of the credits) you had to go through to get it.

Well, they pretty much guaranteed(cheated) the success of Shenmue 3 by showing it in E3 of all places. Bloodstained had no such publicity. If it did, the funds would be twice the amount. Being annoyed is understandable, even though we got every stretch goal anyways. At any rate, it doesn't seem like Shenmue 3 will have any ingame backer exclusive content, just collectables like artbooks if you pledge enough money. You won't miss out on much if you don't back it. Actually it does have a few in game backer exclusive items/content in the way of an Arcane Scroll, an Advanced Techniques Scroll, and Ryo's Jacket costume. The catch though is that you have to back at the $160 tier or higher to get them ($300 for all of them) which honestly kinda sucks.

I do own a 3DS, but I haven't decided yet if I'm gonna download it for the Wii U, 3DS, and/or PC. If the 3DS version of the prequel mini game has 3D effects and a few other 3DS centric features then that will be the version I get, if it doesn't then I'll probably go with either the Wii U or PC version.

While I really really can't wait to play the standard game I'm gonna, for the purpose of this topic, have to say Classic mode & Boss Revenge mode cause I love the classic CV style (my favorite ClassicVania game is Bloodlines for the Genesis followed by Super CV IV) also I don't recall playing many games where you can play as a boss enemy/character so being able to do that will imo be really interesting.

For the moment no cause I'm (for the most part) happy with the tier ($125) I chose, but depending on when the survey comes (like say in a year or so) I might decide to go ahead and bump it up to either the $175 or $300 tiers. A year?! I thought it would be fairly soon. I've been constantly checking my inbox to make sure I don't miss it. In my experience it depends on the Kickstarter, but most tend to wait til about a month or two before they are due to start shipping out rewards before sending out surveys to backers. If this Kickstarter sticks to that trend then they wouldn't start sending out surveys until a month or so before they plan to send out their first backer reward (which in this case would be either the prequel game or the Bloodstained Beta for the $60 + PC tiers since the rest of the physical rewards will more than likely be packaged together as one shipment) which I feel is more than likely a year or so away. ex.1 - Project Scissors: NightCry (PC Game) was funded in late Feb with the game due to be shipped in Dec, as of this post they still haven't sent out a single backer survey and probably won't until Oct at the earliest ex.2 - Kill Crazy Nymphos Attack (Graphic Novel) was funded in early May with the first set of rewards (posters & thank you letters) being due to ship in July, they waited til earlier this week to start sending out backer surveys

I believe the first Castlevania game I actually played through was Bloodlines for the Genesis (it's an awesome game and my second favorite Castlevania game), prior to that my only exposure to the series was watching a friend play a Castlevania game (Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse to be exact) for the NES. As for my favorite Castlevania game, well that would have to be Symphony of the Night, which I first rented from Blockbuster (this was summer 98 and I had gotten a PS1 for Christmas the year before) for a weekend and later that year got it as a Christmas gift from my Grandparents. I enjoy playing this game so much that I own three versions of it (my original PS1 game which I've held onto even though it sadly no longer works, the PSOne Classics/PSN version, and the XBLA version) and have completed it numerous times as both Alucard & Richter, heck I even have all the XBLA achievements for the game. Note: I no longer actively play on XBL which is why I didn't include an XBL gamertag in the online play thread.

Serious: Chase Mode (for Classic Mode Only) - spawns a giant monster (ala Rondo of Blood) at the beginning of each stage that will chase you throughout the stage leaving a trail of carnage in it's wake
Demon Mode - turns Miriam into a random monster/demon each time you enter it, each monster/demon only has a single attack
Silly: Food Mode - turns all weapons into food that you can throw at enemies
Glitch Mode - makes the game glitchy/buggy, most glitches/bugs activated by this code are purposefully designed to troll the player in various (funny/weird/bizarre)ways.
