Robbie as Alucard had that mysterious force to be reckoned with feel to it. I feel like Zangetsu would be that kind of character. The voice might not fit his appearance, but I think no one out there is better suited to fit his personality, at least from what I'm ASSUMING Zangetsu behaves like. It helps that Frakes played David Xanatos. We know he can deliver that sort of character and his voice hasn't been heard in a while in anything major that I can think of. Tara Platt as Miriam is directly inspired by her roles as Mitsuru Kirijo and Vert (Green Heart; Hyperdimension Neptunia). I would be thinking of a mix of those two roles, as a Miriam who is youthful but refined. Hayter was announced as Gebel so... no reason on that. I definitely don't want his Snake voice, but perhaps Hayters natural voice. Hayter has a naturally gruff voice but his natural voice is quite a bit lighter than the Snake we know now. If you play MGS1 it's a lot closer to that. MGS1 (ps1) video for reference.
Thinking back on that... it'd be fun if Otacon voiced Johannes, but I feel like people in general wouldn't go for that lol. I didn't remember there being any announcements about David Hayter voicing that character, just him being in the game. Then I googled it and saw Fangamer specifically mentioned Gebel and went "oh". I'd rather see him as Zangetsu, but I can see his normal speaking voice fitting with Gebel. Completely forgot about David Xanatos on Gargoyles. I mostly know Frakes for being Riker on Star Trek and noticing his name in various TV episodes he directed. I'd be totally on board with Christopher Randolph voicing Johannes. His performance as Huey in MGSV was some of his best work. I don't know who I'd cast as Miriam. I think I might've joked about Aubrey Plaza voicing her once before, but at the same time I can see her having a deadpan, joyless, "I don't have time for this nonsense," personality. I can't imagine her sounding youthful. I kinda wish we knew more about the characters. It'd be easier to toss casting speculation around.

Gonna flip your tables a bit. Robbie Belgrade as Zangetsu. Tara Platt as Miriam. Jonathan Frakes as Johannes.David Hayter obviously as Gebel. Also throw in my favorite voice actor Liam O'Brien somewhere. Make him voice Miriam if you have to. Dangit. Until we find out more about Johannes, I'm going to have a difficult time imagining anyone else in the role. I can see Frakes playing an book-smart character like that. Definitely a table flip in terms of Hayter and Belgrade, I'd imagine them getting cast as the other roles. Zangetsu seems like a gruff, Snake-like character to me. I can see Gebel being a creepy Hayden Christensen/Anakin Skywalker-ish character and I think it'd be fun to see Belgrade give a performance like that.

The more active you are, the more often people see you as a target =P. This is a secret conspiracy to kill this forum's activity Could you imagine how chaotic a game like this would turn out if everyone was present though? Shots fired everywhere all day! (Btw, this is the best forum game I've seen. Will definitely keep me around a little more often) Back in 2008, I played some sort of gangster-themed game on Facebook where you'd try to steal from other people. It was everyone for themselves and the top players were always the biggest targets. This event reminds me of that, but with multiple teams/factions. I would be up for a more chaotic, large-scale version of what's going on now. Maybe when all the technical issues with reviving or losing roles get worked out, there could be a second event promoted in a Kickstarter update that could shape a minor detail from Bloodstained's backstory. The winning faction from the forum event ends up "winning" a battle in the game's universe.

Do dead players get resurrected or respawn after a certain amount of time? Or do they die when they are killed and that's where the game ends for them?

I hope the English version of the game re-works the lip sync to match the voices. I know it's hard to do, but it can help make performances feel more natural.
I'm interested in how the game is going to be divided and whether or not each episode would be treated like its own game. I can see episode 1 being all of the Midgar section, but I'm kinda clueless on how the rest of the game is going to be divided after that.

I like the idea of context and fleshing out details, but I'm not really interested in the little details behind everything. After all, the main explanation for why things often happen or are the way they are is "because it's a game."
With Bloodstained, all I really want to do is explore a giant maze and story/worldbuilding isn't as big of a deal for me. I usually get interested in little details because I like something (Star Wars) and I like the idea of having some sort of optional database that's not required for the game's story (Mass Effect), but when things are too connected to minor details/lore it can get in the way of the story where things go over the players head (Final Fantasy 13).

Excellent point about the dress, just because we can't see the crystals it doesn't mean they're not there. Never really thought of camera distance or close-ups playing a big role either.

I personally backed Bloodstained not due to any animosity, but because I was genuinely interested in the project. Although I admit the Gunvolt references were what convinced me to fork over my money; I love that game. I haven't bought anything from Konami in a very long time so I have no strong feelings toward them. However, I do believe the overall animosity toward Konami played a big role in the Bloodstained campaign's success. That's a good attitude to have. If you throw money at something just to send an angry message and aren't actually looking forward to it, you're just wasting money.

I don't think launching the campaign when it did was intentional due to how much planning was involved and all the time IGA spent talking to publishers, but the timing was perfect.
I'd say the "screw you" factor played a big part of Bloodstained's successful campaign, especially with the lack of IGAvanias, David Hayter being a stretch goal, and P.T.'s cancellation being fresh in everyone's minds. It was a good way for people to vote with their dollars/put their money where their mouth is. Nothing brings people together like finding out they're annoyed or frustrated with the same things.

What's with the Star Wars spam? OBI-WAN: Anakin, Miriam's character design is on-topic! The Star Wars references are on-topic! The "No Fun Allowed" side of the forums is an evil presence. ANAKIN: From my point of view, it is Miriam's boobies that are evil! It probably has to do with Episode 7 coming out soon, but expressing ideas or concerns in a fun way can help reduce tension and keep people from taking things too seriously or personally.

And that was precisely the point. Since literally anything can be sexualized, the devs should focus on how they want their characters presented and their story told, rather than combing through their work at every step searching for things that could be misconstrued as salacious. The only way to be sure that no one will sexualize something is to destroy it completely. General Dodonna: Well, Iga doesn't consider a small one-man fighter to be any threat, or he'd have a tighter defense. An analysis of the plans provided by Princess Xombiemike has demonstrated a weakness in the boobystation. But the approach will not be easy. You are required to maneuver straight down this castle hallway and skim the surface to this point. The target area is only two meters wide (thank Yoda they inflated it). It's a small thermal exhaust port, right below the main port (aka pecs). The shaft leads directly to the reactor system. A precise hit will start a chain reaction which should destroy the station. Only a precise hit will set off a chain reaction. The stain glass is ray-shielded, so you'll have to use proton torpedoes. Wedge Antilles: That's impossible! Even for a sweet computer rig. Luke: It's not impossible. I used to bullseye womp rats in my T-16 back home, they're not much bigger than two meters. General Dodonna: Then man your controllers. And may the Force be with you. LANDO: Lord Vader, what about creative team and the backers? VADER: They must never again see Miriam's boobie. LANDO: Her sexuality was never a condition of our agreement, nor was losing David Hayter to this actor strike! VADER: Perhaps you think you're being treated unfairly. LANDO: ...No. VADER: Good. It would be unfortunate if I had to leave a garrison here. Vader turns and sweeps into the elevator with Boba Fett. Lando walks swiftly down another corridor, muttering to himself.LANDO: This deal's getting worse all the time. Many Bothans died to get those plans... That was actually for Miriam's other boob, the one covered by the shield generator on in Return of the Jedi.

I got System Shock 2 on sale over a year ago. I should really get around to playing through the entire thing now.
Is anyone involved with Bioshock going to be involved with System Shock 3? I figured it'd be a good idea to get a hold of people who worked on it since that series was supposed to be a spiritual successor to System Shock.

I voted for perspective projection. I like the idea of using space for depth, but I don't want it to go overboard or go full dollhouse mode. You never go full dollhouse mode. Maybe like, 10-25% dollhouse mode.Is that even possible? lol Well, that last sentence was really me trying to say "don't have too much tilt or distance in the background."

I think I like it better without the extra shoulder pieces. It feels like they just add more clutter to the design. I like the original design without the extra piece on the shoulder, not because I think it "clutters" the design or anything, but because the bare shoulder shows more of the crystals on Miriam's skin. I like the tweak to her outfit. Seeing the crystallization coming through from beneath the clothes on her shoulder rather than being in plain sight has a more believable feel and gives the impression she's trying to cover it up. I kinda see both sides of the issue here. At first I was "team no shoulder cover" in order to show more of the crystals and look less cluttered, but the idea of Miriam trying to cover the crystals or having them stick out from underneath her clothes is giving me second thoughts. I also noticed you can see a bit more of the markings around Miriam's boob crystal on the character model than you can on the artwork. I don't think it's sexual or trying to be sexual, I just didn't see anyone else point it out yet.

Depends on how the accents are done.
An old theater teacher of mine once said "the worst thing you can do to Shakespeare is perform with a bad British accent" and that thought has been stuck in my mind ever since. If I was a director, I would rather cast someone with no accent and fit the role perfectly than cast someone who could pull off a good accent but didn't fit the role that well.
If characters have accents, I'd like them to be subtle and natural. Exaggerated accents usually best in comedy, but I can't see something like that being appropriate for Bloodstained.
