Overall, I enjoyed the beta. Here's some feedback for improvements.
-Tone down how frequently Miriam yells or grunts when she attacks and make them sound not as loud.
-Once the Galleon Minerva reaches land and the player returns to it, the water in the background shouldn't be as intense as the water from when it's sailing, and it should have the background with the red skies from the village. It's kinda jarring to go from being on land with one background to the middle of the ocean with a different background. They should be the same since the ship is no longer sailing.
-The villager sidequests should tell you what reward you're getting when you turn them in. I lost track of what the rewards I actually got were.
-I'd like to see some sort of tracker for the progress you've made in your active sidequests display under the health/mana bar. I would be okay if it ended up being optional.
-There's what I'm guessing is a warp room in the room above the hub in the village where you find Johannes, Dominique, and the villager who gives the player sidequests. As of the beta, it looks like you'll arrive in the warp room, have to go outside, and then go back in the hub room below in order to reach Dominique, Johannes, and the villager. In order to save time and feel less tedious, I'd rather see the warp room get moved so its entrance/exit leads directly to that same little hub so you can access four different features from one room.
-The animations for the human running into the room with Miriam and Johannes at the beginning looks kinda... janky. It'd be nice to see their animation improved, if possible.
-Beginning of the game with both an Star Wars-style title crawl and the conversation between Miriam and Johannes feels long and it gave me this feeling of "get on with it!". Is it possible to move/edit some of the conversation with Miriam and Johannes to a different point in the game?
-The walls and background of the save rooms in the Galleon Minerva should match the rest of the ship rather than the castle.
I'm having some trouble with describing this next suggestion, so I provided an alternate explanation to go with it.
-If the player has all the equipment to craft an upgraded version of an already existing weapon/armor, and then still enough to upgrade to the next/better version of that weapon or armor in that same category after that, I'd like to skip directly to upgrading towards that instead of upgrading to one item and then upgrading to the next item.
For example (I'm using generic names because I don't remember all the weapon/armor names from the demo):
Instead of only crafting items in the order of: Short sword -> Iron sword -> Steel sword
If we have enough crafting materials for both the iron sword and the steel sword left over after that, it'd be nice to have the option from go from: Short sword -> skip straight to Steel sword

I like how the green shirt guy in the background looks like he's going "Huh? What's going on? Is someone summoning monsters in some sort of magic book?"
This was one of the coolest things I've ever gotten to experience and I'm glad others got to experience it. My heart grew three sizes that day. Big, big thank you to everyone involved with the gift, arranging the happy hour and panel, and everyone who showed up.
The real treasure was the friends we made along the way, and it was great meeting you all!

Enkeria and CastleDan , this report has a good look at the gold dragon Mana told me she added to the Galleon Minerva (the one I mentioned in another thread). Looks like a big improvement, doesn't it?

I'm not a fan of having Miriam do anything cutesy. It just takes away her badass-ness entirely. You would never catch Alucard doing something like that. Miriam should have a similar attitude, IMO. The dude throws peanuts in the air and catches them in his mouth. Goobsausage Where is the image? Did you guys see it? Did you take a photo on it? I mean, some of you were there. C'mon. I didn't take my own picture because I thought the rest of the internet would've noticed it on the stream and pointed it out along with the Vepar changes. Sorry about that. I think it might be noticable in the recorded stream. I haven't watched it, so I don't know how good the gameplay footage video quality is, and I don't remember what time it was on screen, but I think it might be your best bet to try and find it.

It's a decoration on the side of the boat. The screengrabs I've seen that feature the ship are either too blurry or have it cut off.

Fun fact: I asked Mana about how she's contributing art to Bloodstained, and while she isn't revealing everything, she did mention she added the gold dragon/serpent design on the Galleon Minerva when you're fighting Vepar. The ship looks much better now.

Well, that day of hanging out with everyone at SXSW was wonderful! A good time was had by all! I'm pooped!
Iga, Mana, and Angel were especially cool in-person and it was so nice of them to spend as much time with all the fans as they did. Hopefully more groups of forum and discord people will get to have a similar experience to the one we had today.
I am also grateful for the SXSW volunteers and staff at the autograph area and Angel for accommodating our request to get a group pic together.
I actually liked the panel. It felt like it was trying to introduce Bloodstained to non-fans and non-backers while also acting like an in-person Kickstarter update. But I can understand why people weren't happy with it.
Pics will come later!

Angel just made this announcement on Discord. “@everyone If you are coming to SXSW tomorrow please send me a private message, I have a surprise for fans who are attending and hang out with us here on Discord...” So... if you’re going, have an account on the forums, but don’t have Discord yet, I guess it’s time to get it, join the Bloodstained channel, and message Angel. I could show up and eat. But it depends on where y'all do it at (I'm not actually going to the convention, unfortunately) Probably right outside the convention center. There’s picnic tables we can use.

If we can’t organize something after the panel, would anyone be eating some donuts sometime at around 9-10am the morning before the panel? I can get some, but the food has to be eaten outside the convention center since they won’t allow food inside unless you buy it there.

No plans actually got organized. It’ll probably be be more feasible to do something Saturday evening since more people will be there, but at this point, I guess any outside meetup would end up being something spontaneous sometime after the panel.
As for myself, I might try to get into a SXSW movie screening at 8pm-ish tonight, if anyone cares to join me.

What would be a better time for a meetup outside SXSW? The Friday evening before the panel? Or sometime Saturday afternoon/evening/night after the panel?
I was thinking we could try and hang out at Pinballz Arcade (if transportation there is feasible, I have a car I can give a few people a ride in) and also has plenty of restaurants nearby, including Ramen Tatsu-ya.

Game Over will more than likely have their own merch booth at SXSW gaming. I would also like to recommend Chuy's (it started in Austin) and Torchy's Tacos for Tex-Mex.

Birthday was fun and nice. I got cupcakes at work, bought some comic trade paperbacks for myself at my favorite comic shop, hung out with some friends there, and went to a comedy show where I hung out with more friends and got a birthday shout-out from the comedians because I'm a regular and I didn't even tell them it was my birthday.
Also a new Deadpool 2 trailer came out and it had an action figure for a Sheriff Woody version of Deadpool as part of a Toy Story parody, and that was cool.

I beat Iconoclasts earlier this week. Got 90% of the collectibles before heading to the final boss.
I had fun with it. I can see myself playing it again. I'd safely recommend buying it full price.
But I also felt its flaws were highly visible, most notably the unclear story that feels like it's written for the characters in-universe rather than written for the player to experience, unclear directions on how to switch characters during specific events (AND THIS IS INTRODUCED IN THE MIDDLE OF A BOSS FIGHT), and a boss fight that tries to be a 2D version of "The End" from MGS3 but ended up being slow and just... not fun.

Anyone traveling to Austin, I recommend visiting the Pinballz Arcade as well. ^ This. It's a great arcade, and it's BYOB. It's also near the one of the two locations for the best ramen in Austin, Ramen Tatsu-Ya.

The hotels in Austin are a bit pricey as well.. I was actually JUST looking at those for the past couple of hours or so lol Popular time, prices are higher and things are filling up. Gotta get on it soon Soon (tm) Have you looked at hotels right outside Austin?

Thanks for all that info Goob. It's sounding a little more pricey than I initially thought but not impossible. I also thought Mike was way closer to Austin than he actually is heh, in my head I was like "why not just drive over there"...but even if he is a few states closer than me, it's still 12 hours lol If it ends up being more expensive than expected and you decide to fly down anyway, I hope it ends up being a good year for the event and I hope you feel the whole experience will have been worth it. As for a 12-hour drive... that could be quite the road trip adventure if money and scheduling worked out right, and if there's enough fun tourist stuff to see on the way there and back. Day 1: Drive over to Mike's place for a slumber party. Day 2: You and Mike drive over to somewhere in Texas and alternate napping/driving shifts while seeing various sights along the way. Day 3: Show up in Austin, hang out/party with Motoko, Chronogeran, Revient, anyone else from the Discord channel and forums who shows up, and I, see the panel, hang out/party with Iga, Mana (is she coming along?), and/or Angel afterwards until they politely ask us to leave, go to the Winchester, have a nice cold pint, and wait for the rest of SXSW to blow over! How's that for a slice of fried gold? Day 4: Drive back to Mike's place for another slumber party and alternate napping/driving shifts while seeing different various sights along the way. Day 5: Drive home and feel sad about having to go back to work the next day.

Yeah, this IS going to be a panel on IGA's birthday as PWS said, and I'm working on getting something confirmed before I start involving the community in getting a birthday present to him since several of us will be there. Also... folks if you can be there, try and make this one. No huge announcement as far as I know, but because it's IGA's birthday and there will be several fans from the community you might know, this is kinda the one to hit. I'm looking into how much this specific panel will cost and I think it may be... free. That's a damn good price, but you don't get into the rest of SXSW. When I know solid facts, I'll be pushing this hard with announcements and birthday stuff. The gaming portion of SXSW used to be free, but last year they started charging to get in. You will need a wristband to see panels. The cheapest gaming wristbands are $20 in advance for a single day and a $40 in advance for 3 days (Thursday the 15th through Saturday the 17th) . They'll cost $25 and $50 at the door. Convention center parking will probably cost $10-20 dollars. Con center food and food truck food will probably cost $10. If you're within driving distance or live in Texas, by all means, come on down and check out SXSW gaming for a day. It's a good medium-sized gaming con wrapped up in a much larger, chaotic beast of an event. If you want to get into the rest of SXSW (the film and music portions that sprawl all over the rest of Austin), or attend multiple days if you're out of town/live outside of central Texas, it will be obscenely expensive once you factor in the wrist bands and badges for them, hotel rooms, travel to Austin, and travel within the city itself. There might be some cool free stuff to do, but it's usually at the beginning at the whole event and the gaming expo is at the very end. I know it's a bit of a downer to mention that, but I just want to make sure people have a good idea of what they're getting into. Gaming panel schedule.Wristband info.

Could you guys later on rename the title a bit, and post whatever you experienced over there in this thread? Would be a cool read, perhaps photos too! I will keep re-naming the thread in mind, but I will probably do the bare minimum and change "has" to "had".
