It's almost the end of the campaign and I thought it wasn't going to make it, but Eagle Island reached its funding goal today! The campaign also got updated with stretch goals.

Had the day off. I was shopping for things I needed and picking up some fun stuff I wanted, but got sick to my stomach by the time I arrived at my first store. That whole experience was not fun.
I'm also years behind everyone else, but I got my hands on a copy of the first Nier game. Looking forward to playing it.

It wont be a British actress because it'll be Jennifer Hale. We all know this, lets not kid ourselves! How can you be so sure? There haven't been any official statements or hints regarding that yet - or did I miss something? It's probably a joke about how Jennifer Hale is in pretty much every video game.

Mana already said they won't be getting a british actress. I remember her mentioning that a while back. Thanks for the reminder. I forgot about that. Has there been any word on if anyone involved with Bloodstained will sit in on the English audio recording sessions?

I finally got around to finishing the episode after listening to it in bits and pieces over the week! -It's good to see/hear some Tin Follin love! His soundtracks really were the best parts of the game he worked on. -I'm fine with whatever Adi Shankar does for the R-rated Mega Man project. Artists tend to make their best work whenever they're given the freedom to do whatever they want, and I've enjoyed his previous work. It also probably won't have any story impact on the Capcom games and instead be its own re-imagining/stand-alone thing. -At the same time, I can understand if people don't like the idea of an R-rated Mega Man. After all, art and entertainment quality are often subjective and people can have different reasons for liking or disliking things. -I hope whatever IGA does for the inverted castle equivalent in Bloodstained ends up being more than just repeating what SOTN did. I would rather see new areas and rooms than just old rooms flipped upside down with different backgrounds and enemies. But at the same time, I also think it would be cool if the player could flip/invert/rotate the game map by 90 degrees (left, right, and upside-down) in order to access new areas or solve certain puzzles.
And because he was mentioned on the podcast, I thought it'd be good to recommend some comic book/graphic novel series Warren Ellis worked on. Most of these should be available in comic book stores, regular book stores that carry comic books/graphic novels, digital services like Comixology or Marvel Unlimited, or possibly even for free at your local library! - Nextwave: Agents of H.A.T.E.It's a stand-alone crazy, newcomer-friendly superhero series in the Marvel universe. It has one of my favorite origin stories, reading it will have you saying things like " Wow, Machine Man is sure is total ****," it will help you understand the value of money, and you will cower in fear of FIN FANG FOOM! The Elvis alt costume MODOK has in MVC3 first appeared here. It lasts for 12 issues and is collected in two different versions: one book containing all of them, and two books collecting six each. - Doom 2099This is set in a cyberpunk future where Marvel's Doctor Doom tries to do things like take over countries. Warren Ellis wrote issues 24-39, they've been re-published together, and it's considered to be the best of Marvel's 2099 series. - PlanetaryIt's a stand-alone sci-fi/archaeology/superhero series that's not really a superhero series and focuses on a team of people with special abilities as try to solve mysteries about Earth. It lasts for 27 issues over 4 volumes and is also available in an omnibus format. One of the main characters, Elijah Snow, is one of my favorite fictional protagonists.- TransmetropolitanThis is considered Ellis's best work and I'm reading through the whole series right now. It's a dark comedy/satire starring Spider Jerusalem, a Hunter S. Thompson-style gonzo journalist searching for truth in a sucky city set in a cyberpunk future. It's also bittersweet to read because so many of the ideas it's talking about have come true or are coming true. I'm enjoying it, but I would not recommend this if you're uncomfortable with strong language, graphic violence, or things like an in-universe kids TV show called "Sex Puppets" where the puppets have puppet genitals. It lasts for 60 issues over 10 volumes.

Well, during the new gameplay trailers I think we did see X use a new boss weapon attack. And it looks like... Wind Cutter. From #$@%ing X7 of all games. They chose a weapon from X7 as a move, and didn't even go with Flame Hyenard's? Shame on you, Capcom.

I hope they get Hank Azaria to do Miriam's voice. Reading that made me want Dan Castellaneta as Zangetsu while using his Groundskeeper Willie voice, and now nothing will ever live up to that. The announcement doesn't even need to mention spiritual successor. Just saying the daddy of SOTN is bringing his own game to the world, and on E3 of all stages, will travel across the whole globe. Just seems like a good time. If they plan to release it next year, what better time to do an actual announcement trailer than this years E3? Gotta promote it outside the Kickstarter fans. Agreed on both points. Marketing Bloodstained as a SOTN/Castlevania successor was great for the Kickstarter, but when promoting the game for wider audiences at events like E3, it's probably better to market it as its own thing and stand on its own legs. I'm looking forward to what IGA and ArtPlay will bring to E3 this year. Last year I didn't think there'd be a demo, and there ended up being one. I think it's okay to get hyped and raise my expectations for something.

I got to play the demo of Forsaken Castle at PAX South and had fun with it. The goal is $10,000, costs $15 for a copy of the game, there's stretch goals for PS4 ($20,000) and Switch ($35,000) ports, and the highest goal is $50,000. UPDATE: The Kickstarter campaign has ended, but Forsaken Castle can still be pre-ordered at BackerKit. forsaken-castle.backerkit.com/hosted_preorders

I think the real issue is HOW the DLC is done/handled by each company. Netherrealm's had some missteps in the past (MKX featuring DLC characters as opponents in story mode), but the PC version of Mortal Kombat XL fixing/updating the MKX PC port and providing all the DLC was great. Injustice 2 looks like it's handling DLC well so far (other than microtransactions). -Premium costumes for Injustice 2 come with new voices and help make existing characters feel like new ones (Reverse Flash for Flash, the John Stewart version of Green Lantern for Hal Jordan Green Lantern, and if the rumors are true, Mr. Freeze for Captain Cold) and if those characters show up in story mode, it doesn't feel like a loss since they're re-skinned existing characters. -Their pre-order character, Darkseid, is a big DC villain, but it doesn't look like he's going to be involved with the story mode, nor does it look like he'll be fused with another company's character in a crossover fighting game... again. -It doesn't look like they're trying to do the Street Fighter 5 DLC model Plus, when you have a DC game developed by the company behind Mortal Kombat and a Marvel game from the company behind Street Fighter, people are going to make comparisons about how one is better than the other, for better or for worse. The only thing about Marvel 3's DLC I don't think many were happy about is how bad/unimportant those characters are lol On another note, they should just delete Chris and put Leon in the game finally. Chris has never been an interesting character. Re: Ultron, that's a point I forgot. Maybe because Ultron is a bigger character property-wise? Hmmm IIRC, a good chunk of the characters in UMVC3 were originally supposed to be DLC for MVC3. Jill and Shuma-Gorath were also disc-locked content and could be accessed by hackers. As for Ultron, if Marvel being bigger name/property behind him is an issue, it kinda makes Capcom look bad/smaller by comparison for not including their villain.

Could make sense since standalone Sigma probably isn't so much the story's villain or an important character, but it "would be cool" to have plain ol' Sigma instead of final boss Ultron Sigma. Playable version of the boss character, basically, which I can imagine would lose in priority to making more unique characters for the main cast. Either way, I was fully prepared for DLC. After all, new video games haven't gotten more expensive since like the late 80s while their dev costs DEFINITELY have lol. They have to make their money somehow, and if it involves me getting Mega Man X stuff finally, let's go! While I understand wanting to support the developers and evolving payment models, I'd rather see not have the normal versions of the two characters getting fused together to create the final boss of a crossover game split across game versions/payment models, especially since the normal version of Ultron was announced for the base game. I'd rather see both as DLC or both on the base.

I just finished the Plague Knight DLC for Shovel Knight. I had fun and I liked mixing and matching the different types of bombs, but I enjoyed Specter knight more and I think playing that first felt like a mistake.
Now I'm going though my Steam library plowing through games I bought on sale and forgot about, just throwing things at the wall and seeing what sticks. I played Out There Somewhere and had fun, but got frustrated with timing and precision to the point where it was getting stressful. I tried Aerannis, but I wasn't really having fun with how it did 2D stealth gameplay. I got a couple of hours into Rex Rocket, but wasn't really feeling it and stopped.
