I don't think portraits take you away from the game at all, they have been in every castlevania before bloodstained, just mix them up between some other paintings in different places and it's good.

I just found this interview and though of posting it but someone beat me to it, oh well. Damn those are some high quality screenshots IGN got there, it's a shame they weren't in the October update. Good to know IGA is being realistic about the high quality of the game and about Inti crates ability to use UE4, also 60 fps is sweet if there are no framedrops. I don't really care about 4k so I don't see a problem there. Overall Really good interview coming from IGN.

God I love Holy Wisdom. It is truly dark, which gives the whole game a more mature theme. It really gives me vibes of SOTN music like Requiem of the gods. As people have mentioned, it is perfectly suited for the chapel of the castle. Seems like IGA is going to be giving us another treat soon to compensate for the lack of one update, perhaps a glimpse of some backer enemies? some sketches with luck? Anyways, short but sweet update.

the backer content needs to be available to others at some point. if not, then all of that content will eventually not exist, when the backers have died out. Don't know man, us backers have been playing Igavanias since SOTN and haven't stopped at all, this proyect is the perfect sign of it lol.

Damn it's a shame CoTM isn't an Igavania to add it to the poll because that's the perfect castle for me. Balancing everything to near perfection, sequence break, right amount of plataforming, enemy placement, restricted areas, etc. Oh well, there are awesome castles in the IGAverse as well.

1.) Has the development team considered using the "Cave of Lost Souls" fan-made bgm by Garoad (Michael Kelly) on Soundcloud for at least one area in Bloodstained? (In my honest opinion, this music sounds like something that belongs in Symphony of the Night) Dayum that's one of the best fan made music themes I have ever heard. Mana should definitely show this to the dev team. I second this.

OMG Attack Speed buffs, that's a whole new concept to the series! I must imagine these could come from souls, equipment or from the new alchemy system, perhaps you can get crissaegrim lvs of attack speed with enough buffs... All aboard the hype train!!!

Short update but things are looking great. Greatswords are going to be my prefered weapon again because they offer that sweet up attack. Also the whip animation is quite awkward tbqh. Curious about how is the swordwhip animation gonna be after this update, will you be able to change between sword and whip or is it going to get a different animation all together?

- How many optional bosses are there going to be? (Not counting IGA of course)
- How lineal is it gonna be? Can I skip some bosses or power-ups? Will this be intentional or just be a side effect of game mechanics? For reference I loved how Metroid Zero Mission the developers added intentional skips to certain power ups and you even had the choice between items like high jump or speed booster, but in games like Super Metroid most skips are done because the developers didn't imagine some things were possible, like bypassing a gate from the wrong side.
- Will the team announce which monsters come from backers designs? Same goes with the pet monsters.

For those new souls, Bismark Kappa The 3rd was an enemy designed by IGA himself in the ending stream of the Bloodstained kickstarter as part of the challenges IGA had to accomplish along it. The peculiar monster has gained fame across the fandom and I think I can safely say it has become popular inside the comunity. I think it's clear that almost all of us want Bismark Kappa the 3rd to be in bloodstained in one form or another, but I'm interested in hearing the community opinions on how it should be implemented? Do you want him as boss? as an normal or rare enemy? what should be his drop? What ability would his soul give us? Basically this is a Bismark Kappa The 3rd general.

I know it will likely happen but, as much as I truly think Aria of Sorrow is the best one, I do feel like the endgame is always "Claihm Solais, Dracula's Tunic, Chaos Ring" with the Legion Laser skill, Black Panther Dashing and Headhunter statmonger. I'd love to see spear users, katana builds, whip builds etc. Multiplayer will get pretty stale if everyone has the exact same things. This would be awesome IMO, it gives more of a traditional RPG feeling of customization. I do however feel that the swordwhip is gonna be the endgame weapon for everybody, well at least for backers, because as a combination of both main weapons I expect it to have some wierd combos, extreme damage and utility if not being alright broken ala crissaegrim. But different endgame weapons for the normal version would be amazing.

I don't think they would add the most powerful weapon at beginning of the game, I think it will be dropped by IGA as the optional superboss in an area exclusive to the backer edition. Probably at the endgame or in post-game content. Also current tiers rewards cannot be changed, but you have plenty of time to save for the $60 to upgrade your tier, assuming you already payed $28 you only need to save around $5 a month to have it ready by february as it might be the last month when you can upgrade tiers.

I'm all aboard for a second castle, but just don't simply inverse it like in symphony, that's way simple and the surprise factor is nonexistent. A reflection castle in the water as some have mentioned could be very well done, but it would need something to make it stand out from the normal version, new mechanics to interact with the environment. Maybe seeing it's a reflection, like walls sometimes wobble like your reflection in water. Maybe something like in Dawn where in the standard castle you couldn't go through a wall, but in the mirrors that wall was gone. Basically just be different from what SoTN and HoD did. Also if this meant that it would only be a 1600 castle because it has an inverted castle then I would be against it. I would much rather see one full-fledged castle than 2 castles to accomplish the biggest castle stretch goal.

What about a younger fan who cant back a project on his/her own and when asked, his/her parents refused? That person will NEVER be able to get the content and there was nothing they could do about it. What about a fan who's been going through a hard time regarding their finances and could not commit to the project because of that? I don't know man, if after a year or more you couldn't get $60 even as a kid, you have greater issues than just not being able to play a videogame. Asking your parents for 5 dollars a month is good enough. Personally I think about these exlusive rewards like IGA said, a personal thank you for helping him in his time of need. It would seem dishonest to backtrack on their word just to make some more cash along the way like MN9 did with "exlusive" fan DLC.

I think a great castle should be balanced with how to traverse it. My one complain from the SoTN castle is that it maybe has way to many long hallways without much else going for them. We also see the extreme opposite with HoD, where the 2 castles are a single mess to traverse, with cramped spaces and plataforming everywhere. CoTM and Aria seems to find a balance between not just getting empty hallways but not making a plataforming mess out of every single room.
The backgrounds also play a huge roll on the castle. Dawn and Aria seem so much more light hearted castles that CoTM or SoTN, with more contrast and light colors used. Areas like the study in Aria seem so lively where in CoTM the death mansion looks gloomy and dreadful. This isn't necessarily bad, but it affects the castle atmosphere heavily.
Interestingly enough the size of the character in relation to the background makes a huge difference. Nathan's sprite looks tiny for the rest of the castle, which somehow made the castle look even bigger than what really is.
