I hope Igarashi and all involved had a nice birthday blowout with him!
Did IGA come with two hats? In one of the shots, it doesn't look like his cowboy hat.

I would actually not be against backer stuff merely being timed-exclusive material that becomes available to the public at a later date.
Not everyone knew of the game when the Kickstarter started, or may not even be aware it's a successor to Koji Igarashi's Castlevania games until there's a copy publicly available.
They could do it like certain pre-order bonuses: after 90 days from launch, the exclusive content is a few dollars as a DLC unlock key.

Two updates, huh? Thinkin' update 2 might be specifically about the demo, and I wouldn't be shocked if it's posted on an anniversary date of a certain game...

Name: Master of This Castle Requirement: Obtain every shard available in the game
I'm sure this has been entertained somewhere in this thread.

I'm down! "Donald Brown" is what I can be credited by; no need for online handles if it's a direct, personal gift to IGA himself.

Assuming it releases before hand, I would.
I would love for us to hear more about it, though. We know next to nothing about it...

I don't think percentage of completion would be the best way to grade "progress"; I would imagine public statement on what seems close to "completed" it would appear to be from a perspective of quality/functionality.
For example, let's take the prequel game, which we haven't heard anything about in months. I don't think asking for a percentage on that would be helpful, but perhaps a state of progress on it. Will it be released before the main game, for example? Things like that.
Hopefully we learn about that project in a coming update. We know the intentions are for the main game to still be released in 2018, but we have heard absolutely nothing about the prequel game when it was announced that Inti Creates was pulled off of the main game. Are they even doing the prequel project anymore?

Usually what is expected in an IGA game.
Main game, extra character, boss rush.
Simple and sweet.

Goodness that boss theme is amazing. Not as good as Dissonant Courage from Order of Ecclesia, but still damn good.

Man, Mana's work is gorgeous.
Like if I were to visualize a style that is in theme with Castlevania but being a spiritual successor to it, I think more of that artwork than what Natsume-san has done for the game.

As this is a series with a lot of games, I tried my best here.
– Castlevania: Dracula's Curse – Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia – Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow – Castlevania: Bloodlines – Castlevania: Belmont's Revenge – Castlevania: The Adventure ReBirth – Castlevania: Symphony of the Night – Castlevania: Rondo of Blood – Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin – Castlevania: Circle of the Moon – Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow – Super Castlevania IV – Castlevania Chronicles – Castlevania – Castlevania: Legacy of Darkness/64 – Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance – Castlevania: Lament of Innocence – Castlevania: Curse of Darkness – Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Castlevania: Simon's Quest – Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 – Castlevania: Dracula X – Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Mirror of Fate – Castlevania Judgment – Castlevania Legends – Haunted Castle – Castlevania: The Adventure
Of the above games, I only never finished Mirror of Fate. The bottom five are what I'd call "gutter trash" in that they have design ideas that actually ruin their respective games. The Adventure may be one of the worst games I've ever played for its terrible "take damage and lose whip upgrade" mechanic, as well as having some of the worst platforming of not the series, not even of Game Boy games, but of any platformer I've played.

Rumor have it from two articles, that the game may enter early access. It is unknown if its alpha or beta. If it will come, it will maybe be this month. If so, it will arrive on PC only. I can't confirm anything more than the rumors. We are waiting on updates and details. Could you elaborate on where this rumor comes from?

Get M2 to make it.
I am expecting a quality similar to Adventure Rebirth with this.

I assume if we're getting a demo, it's the Alpha.
This is currently planned for August, IIRC.

All I ask is backers get to play this demo.
This looks substantially more beefy than last years demo.

I was hoping to see if they hinted at the E3 demo, but I guess they'll probably talk about that when they show it next week.

I do wonder if we get a demo if it overwrites the Steam slot of the current demo, or is given a separate Steam ID.

I imagine the update this month will be a preview for what they have in store for E3.
Presuming they have another demo, maybe that will be available to $60 backers?

I am quite impressed with the game, actually. Sure, it has some oddities by it being a largely one-man project - I have seen some balance issues with certain enemies and their attacks, or questionable/bad animations - but these are largely forgiven knowing this was a hobbyist project; no money can ever be made from this, and this was done from the beginning as something fun. My core issues is at times, it has a lack of direction, especially as a Metroidvania. Usually Castlevania games in this formula have clearly memorable spots where your abilities get put to use, and while that is somewhat true here, a good deal of the game has more of a Dark Souls design in that you get items that seem cryptic. There are a few parts in the game where you are expected to do or solve something and the game doesn't make this truly clear, and this includes obtaining items. One place I was stuck in didn't make it clear what I needed until I asked someone, then I got it. I promise many people will fall into this blunder with this specific case. Is anyone else playing this right now? I am and I think that it's the best Castlevania Fangame ever made! It combines some of the best ideas from Classicvania with the newer Metroidvania approach. It totally nails the atmosphere too - better than a lot of the "real" Castlevanias! I love the music, the graphics mostly look nice, many places are genuinely scary and you never know what to expect with this game. There are some design choices that someone like Iga would probably never had made (looking at you, Death Wall) but somehow I find them intriguing. Stuff like that always keeps you at the edge of your seat - every next unknown room could kill you. Sometimes it can also feel a bit unfair though so I'm not entirely sure how to feel about all of these. The day and night cycles are a nice touch too and bring back Simon's Quest vibes in a positive way. I just think that a day/night passes too quickly. The game is also hard as balls. It's difficult in the beginning and stays consistently hard. I end up dying a lot but I usually feel compelled to try again and I'll get there eventually. You can't circumvent this by grinding either as there is no leveling. That way Mig keeps very tight control over the difficulty of each area. You can only make it easier if you buy / find weapons or potions but even those are expensive, scarce and harshly limited. In the end this means that you'll just have to develop strategies and skills to beat that next boss or tricky plattforming section. I'd highly recommend this to anyone who loves Castlevania and is up for a real challenge. By the way: Has anyone found the solution to the number riddle in the first mansion? I'd love to know that one, haha. As for the first Mansion, read the text in the number room and consider math with the dates it asks of you.
