My day's been infuriating.
Apparently, I owe a university I've been to money. And this falls into deeper issues.
- I've not been there since Fall 2014 - My account was flagged for a payment in February 2016, which makes no sense considering the first point - I got a letter that claimed the money owed was being sent to collection - My online account from the school has no information regarding delinquent payments or any payments I've ever made
I'm miffed. I can accept if a few payments were missed -- my parents footed the bill originally, and I can actually see where some payments may have been missed - but why am I getting reported about it in 2017? Why is my account flagged after a full year I've had jack shit to do with the school? Not having payment history really makes me anxious: how do I know this is a real charge and not an automated graduation fee, seeing as if I stayed in the school they had me listed to graduate in December 2016? That's also wrong, too; if I stayed, I would have graduated Summer 2015.
This ruined my weekend because I have no way of tracking this down. I'm doubly up a creek if the school chooses to be uncooperative. My concern first and foremost is if it's a legitimate charge, and why it took so long to be notified.
Ugh.

So I noticed in the update this quote: So is IGA not done writing the story/narrative? I remember past updates (from like a year ago) where he mentioned he wanted to finish writing things soon or was almost done. I guess I'm surprised he hasn't finished yet? Granted the game is at least a year off but I imagine having the story wrapped up makes the actual creation of the game easier and more cohesive? It would influence level and boss design at the very least. Approximately how done would you estimate IGA is with the story/narrative Mana ? Are there more major characters waiting to be revealed (a yes/no is a good enough answer at this point)? Or only/at least more villagers (ala Order of Ecclesia)? The way IGA writes up his update should be read in a more humorous way. When he mentions,"Maybe I can finally write up our story?" he means it in a slightly sarcastic way. The basic storyline is complete, no doubt. There's definitely room for minor tweaking and details to emphasize the Bloodstained narrative, which could be the reason why he is "actively building the story." He also mentions voice actors... This suggests that he has most of the dialogues complete, ready for recording. It should be noted that we are 2-3 steps ahead of what we're publicly announcing. Maybe I was too quick to share that bit on the BCB purifyweirdshard mentioned, but it's definitely more reassuring to the community to know that the story is mostly done than to say, not complete at all. I hope that clears up the mismatch . Sorry to dogpile on you, but now that you popped in here, I asked earlier about the Book of Logaeth in the update. Is it actually spelled that way, or is that an error as it's supposed to be spelled the Book of Loagaeth? This to me is more mysterious than the story for the game, because I can't tell if the game is focusing on a fake or real book. Hope you don't mind me asking you in this way about it.

the designs are nice but ... ... You know I'm going to just withhold my personal opinions regarding them since I dont want people getting upset at me for them. It's just nice to get some more new info on the game as a whole. Can't wait to see where the game goes from here. I will parrot Pure Miriam and suggest you elaborate. I don't think anybody here would be mad at what you have to say. Views on Domonique appear to vary depending upon who you ask on this very forum, and we are not seeing the whips come out to vanquish dialog.

I have a small question, and perhaps this gets to the person who wrote the update.
Is the Book of Logaeth actually supposed to be the Book of Loagaeth? If it's supposed to be referencing a real-world book of mysticism and Enochian language, this is a translation error.

I mean, part of the issue here guys may be that I've seen a couple of you thinking it's a shirt that she's stretching/is too small for her because of her boobs, but it's not a shirt at all and it's supposed to be that size because it's basically a nun's collar piece, I believe they call it the wimple. It does frame her breasts/contribute to them looking bigger and all that, but it's not a shirt/jacket. I've only called it a shirt because I don't know the religious terminology for what that is. I don't think it's supposed to reject the flesh it covers via a sort of gravity, though, so my point about that still stands.

purifyweirdshard OOh, i get it. Well, maybe we will have some kind of weapon and shard combination, or simply shards that will look like sub-weapons. Aria of Sorrow had that with Dagger-throwing souls for instance. Foffy About Dominique's design and the relation to Sypha and size of breasts (i know that's what you implied). I want to give a bigger opinion here. IN MY HONEST OPINION, and no one needs to agree with me AND i respect other's opinions, i personally don't see a single bit of a problem with that. We are at new times, things are changing and i'm all favor to that. We have badass women as characters everywhere, but it seems a uproar always shows up when someone decides to put a single big breasted character or a character in a skimpy clothing or anything like that. For some reason, people decided that big-breastes girls, bare-chested six-pack men can't be heros and heroines in videogames anymore. For some reason, having a big rack or a six pack violates some laws i'm unaware about. It's sad, really. As i said, i respect other's opinions and i know these kinds of designs even offends some people. But not me. For all i care, Dominique can have boucing breasts all around while breathing and i will still think she is a badass woman. But that's me. I do not see how times are changing with a character who has breasts that help make parts of her attire look like they're being pushed off. This is not something new or a sign of change, for this is kind of a anime trope. I am not bothered by the breasts. I am bothered that the breasts are designed in a way with her attire that it gives this impression they are opposing the white shirt that's supposed to be over them, as if they are opposing magnets. I find that very hideous because it doesn't seem like a complimentary design. Vepar has breasts, but I think it's fun lore play to know Vepar is a male. Laura had noticeable breasts on Order of Ecclesia but her dress didn't look like it was in a losing battle with them. I do not object to complimentary designs, and I find very little, if anything, complimenting Dominique's design unless she were a succubus or is a disguise for Gremori or something of the kind. It screams pandering if she's supposed to be a noble, humane character, but almost painfully obvious if she's supposed to be a character that takes advantage of lust or human qualities of those around her for dark gains.

I think Domonique looks hideous. Like a kind of "did you like Sypha in Judgment? Here's her cousin" kind of character that emphasizes those mystical "orbs." I only like her because of the easter egg in her last name.
I was happy to see questions on future playable builds and the prequel game. I imagine, at the very least, we will hear of these at E3. I imagine the prequel game will launch either before the main game, or like with Mighty Gunvolt and Azure Striker Gunvolt, on the same day with the same deal for consumers where if you buy the main game, you get the prequel free.

I think making the save room a type of hub sounds interesting, but I'd like what they do with it to have sense. For example, Vincent's shop in Portrait of Ruin is a save room where you can buy stuff.
Maybe after getting a certain ability in the game, you unlock familiars for the save room, each having special perks? Perhaps one demon, when interacting with it, allows you to to use loot you picked up to make buffs to weapons? Give up a bit of the materials given to you via a flame demon to buff a sword with flame damage, something like that.
Of course, risks here are that it would make Igarashi's usual way of placing stuff like this redundant, as he likes to focus on one area in his games where the purchasing and tinkering with systems like this is done, such as how with Dawn of Sorrow you have Yoko and Hammer in the same area.

If you really want to feel old, from a scientific point of view, everyone here is a continuation of the processes that started with the Big Bang. We're ancient waves. I'm quite amazed at how well the original game aged. But I guess that speaks to competent design.

I'd like something in the vein of Castlevania: The Adventure Rebirth.
I worry going 8-bit will make it seem like a nostalgic "gimmick" game, like Mega Man ZX Advent's retro mode was.
I would like it to feel like a small prequel game, not a throwaway game.

I think an obligatory vampire is a must.
I liked what Order of Ecclesia tried with Blackmore, and I think the idea could be expanded upon. A boss (vampire?) focused on shadows, but nothing could be done with light illumination in the room...
Imagine a boss who grew stronger or weaker depending on where he/she was in the room, dependant on if he/she was in the radius of a "power source" like say, the moon.
It would allow the boss room to not simply be an arena to house the boss, but playing a role more significantly in the fight, forcing you to move to different parts of the room to bait the boss, or to find a way to hinder the system granting the boss power at play.
I'd like to see something like that, where the boss room is, in a sense, a threat as much as the boss is.

Is cross-platform co-op possible? Can a PC co-op with a PS4? If not, which platform will have the highest users, so I can know which platform to back? I did not notice any recent posts after this confirming cross-platform play does indeed exist. But it's between Xbox One and Windows 10 users, IIRC. That likely means the users who buy the game on the godawful Windows Store, so that'll be negative numbers compared to Steam users...

I'm enjoying Witcher 3 right now. Great game. I've never played a Witcher game or read the books, but this is excellent. Oh, get on those, dude. If you like the lore and the world of Witcher III, nearly all of the books and games hit the same notes hard.

Nintendo denied the existance of a revised 3DS model literally a week before they announced it. Their denial likely means nothing here. It's a save of face, and to get people to not abandon Wii U after hearing they aren't making more.

I think Ben makes a very good argument regarding the problem of adding Switch in addition to the Wii U port: where exactly is this money coming from? If they're trying to establish the money they have to the project as is, that means something either has to be added by another campaign or additional investing, or something has to be transferred.
Put me in the camp that if the game stays on Wii U, it will commercially crater, even if fans backing the game want it for that platform. There's not a very good attach rate for a lot of games on the platform, especially third parties, and especially compared to other platforms.
I would actually imagine Bloodstained would sell better on PC than Wii U, and that's actually considering that the PC platform has never gotten an Igarashi game before.
I also have chosen not to vote, for I have not invested in that version of the game. It should be up for people who did.

I guess I will ask a more general question for Judd, as I don't know if it can pertain to Bloodstain directly.
With the role he has behind the scenes with projects such as this and at Capcom, what would his most stressful part of that be? What "behind the scenes" goings on have always been high-level situations that the average consumer of games may not be aware of?
