To my understanding, this early demo is handle similarly to that of like pre-order content from a specific retailer or something like the now trending day-one only content. Those tend to have just as strict grace periods for those contents, but more lenience for actual codes. But both have expiration dates.
It is unfortunate they chose a grace period but to them they wanted to offer something for those who backed early enough that wouldn't infringe on anything current. Since any feedback generated from the demo has already been sought.
I'm sure there will be another one as they continue development, which might be the demo that you'll get. But as is now, the previous one did its job and had probably been discarded.
But that's just how I view it. Which probably does help in any form.

Other M was after Super Metroid. That may have been why. Too big of a gap that let Team Ninja some creative freedom. While also using some elements that 'carried' over to Fusion (development dates make that reversed, but you know what I mean, with Adam and the A.I. For example). So it is a development reason too. Not just a presumed regional development procedure.
Since each Metroid in a sense zeros out for the newest instalment, it applies here.

I knew of Crystal Flash, just never pulled it off.
But one cool thing about Super, when leaving the planet after killing Mother Brain... Right before you go out the cave, take the down path (where you get missiles), you'll see the apes and bird (that cameo in Fusion).
When the planet blows, if you see them and shoot the wall so they can leave, a shooting star flies from the explosion (just after), if you don't free then or visit them, there is no shooting star.

I just want a solid classic Metroid instalment. Or faithful 2d (HD?) remake collection of the 4.
Since that Metroid Dread rumor hit hard and bailed, with Retro poking fun with their shootout via scanning if a certain something.
It would just be nice if Nintendo took interest in their own property other than their usual suspects (with their multiple releases close together)... Even ignoring it's anniversary... I expect that from Capcom or Konami but didn't from Nintendo until it happened...

The last Metroid from creator Gunpei Yoko... It was a good choice you played it through! It really is a good game, great quality, awesome atmosphere, music, etc.
The SNES really was an excellent console. A lot of great games, never done again (or to the same quality).

Something like Demon's/Dark Souls. Wisps that are around in an area just as dangerous as any other part of the game. That won't trigger unless you walk to it and acknowledge it.
Then let's you practice with a few baddies here and there. And a boss. To wrap it up into a nice little package.

I figure it has to do with the over all design Iga-san does. He tends to not go overboard with character armor aesthetics the way others do. He keeps with minor changes. So I would suspect this to be the same.
Notable, Alucard in SotN had cape color and boot changes. Then weapons and shield. Miriam seems to be following the same kind of thing. Whether others viewing agree or not.
It could be a time based issue too as to why Iga-san kept to that. With so much to ultimately do, big castle, lots of bosses, enemies, other characters, etc. They might not be able to do all that and maintain consistency with each, including mode changes and the programing and such. Not saying that modelers do much or anything with programming but it isn't a big team working on this. Especially when Inti-Creates is already split into a few fragmented groups as is.
Just another opinion

I never did back it. But I've followed it since the Kickstarter. But I did get the digital version to give it a try.
I don't subscribe to reviewers on any game. So I don't follow what is being criticized of this game. That bandwagon has gone big and long enough to the point anyone will take a shot.
If 'I' like it, then great. If 'I' DS don't, then I at least gave it the ol college try.

What about trick weapons?
Using Bloodborn for example. Every weapon has 2 modes. Hammer/sword, cane/whip, polearm/musket, etc.
For an advanced mode, or code. But it would be interesting, even just to imagine.

I have a liking for Rick and Morty. I didn't care much for its initial advertisement before it debuted. But I got hooked when I decided 'why not'.
Another I enjoy is Venture Brothers. They take their time with production but it has a good end result. It kinda makes fun of the 60's and 70's cartoons while having its own integrity.
For an early 90's cartoon, The Maxx was cool. It was heavy on psychology for the plot. And only for one season. Short and sweet.

Actually looks rather promising. Leave it to independent developers to produce such type of game. Since bigger developers really aren't anymore...
They got my support.

What about swallows? Dual ended blades. It wouldn't be simple to code for extraordinary movements but could be fun for an additional melee weapon type.

I'm excited it's finally happening. Had guessed it would a while ago but it's nice that it is official. And not a 'leak' from the HD screen shots in the rereleased hard cover strategy guides.

I liked the minor way Capcom approached this in MegaMan [7, X, X2, X3] in that the game only briefs you on a few things that work in the world.
Like MM7, use ice weapon to freeze streams of magma. On floor is a passageway, when pouring, it will crumble and offer way to a small secret room.
Or use flame weapon and burn part of a forest to gain access to a ladder.
X was kinda basic with areas either blocked with breakable blocks or were not really there.
X3 had a few. One using electric weapon charge ability and breaking some object to gain passage. Or skipping on water to reach otherwise unreachable places.
I would not mind if Miriam could use specific weapons in specific locations to find hidden rooms. A step up from just attacking a wall, ceiling or floor. But using, say, a flame weapon in a cold area to melt some ice. Or glass in a workshop, worship area. Or ice weapon and freeze some water to walk across or freeze a downpour to then break for access. But since element wise, access would be timed as ice would crumble. But this has essentially been mentioned above already.

Inti is spread kind of thin. They finally went gold with Mighty No 9. Working on Gunvolt 2. Bloodstained and Shantae. A lot for a small company. And learning from Inafune-san's endeavour, they don't want to delay and delay and delay for everything to get done.
Some don't like it, Inti knows this. But they know their work load. They know one path they don't wish to repeat. And they have Iga-san for his quality. Staggering is their way to not make past mistakes. To keep on par with the quality and to meet the extended demand of all their goals.
It would upset fans more for this to be consecutively delayed. Or if they released it buggy or with content intentionally withheld (we get enough of that with Ubi, Ea, Capcom, etc.) Iga-san wants it better than that. To please his fans and stick it to those who doubted his endeavour.
No one wishes for it to become another Mighty No 9, most of all the same company who had to...

Testing your extensive, cursive words with the forum administrator is unwise. Just saying.
On-topic: I backed Bloodstained before any other mode or feature was even hit. So I don't care if what I didn't technically pay for (at the time) isn't included with what I initially wanted.
