Just throwing it out there, for FFI, Monk isn't a bad class. After so many levels, removing equipment is more beneficial. Especially on place of weapon. Might seem weaker by attack percentage hit number if hits increases.
Thief, isn't terrible. Gets better as Ninja but thief as Janis wasted. Ninja is nice for evasion.

It's the only thing I can gather. I don't have a problem with violence. Castlevania is Gothic for a reason. It's why I mentioned Hellsing earlier. Though Hellsing Ultimate has more pizaz...

I think folks are more concerned about shock value violence, not the violence itself. The almost needless, could have been toned down for same effect, kind of violence. Walking Dead season 7 is a non GoT example of this.
We expect violence. Some just don't expect in your face graphic gore violence.

For Chrono, the DS felt better than PSX. No animation sequences but new dungeons and weapons and armor (typical SE port). Just handheld version is a 'take it or leave it's kind of thing.
Flash cartridges are far superior to disk support only exception is the Gamecube, of which I too still own. Fantastic device, but I digress.
For X, Day of Sigma was a great addition. The cinematics were good. Not as good as the original style that was used during the games advertising.
But X fighting Vile is just different. Vile mode sad fun, more difficult due to playability but it was treated as a stand alone with its own animations. Lots of set up for MHX 2 that never made it.
Also I mentioned it's art style being chibi like. Not exactly chibi. Bigger heads, arms and legs. Smaller torso. To emphasize the character on a smaller screen. It just didn't feel the same artistically when compared to a sprite counter part. I didn't really like Powered Up, beyond artstyle. Only a little bit is worth while for a returning fan. And I mean returning being older. Growing up with the franchise. I just had different expectations than what was delivered.
I liked the X series overall. But my favorites were X3, X5 and X6. With X8 right there. The others didn't have a whole lot going when compared to others. X2 was fun for what it was. X4 was a nice addition especially to the world. But X7 just hurt. And never finished Command Mission. I fear any remakes if done without care and charm...
There have been quite a number of remakes. I listed the 4 to emphasize my points of view on port/remake/rebuilt/reimagine. What titles could you list that are worthy of mention?

To Zechs: Chrono Trigger for PS1, a good port? If you don't count the stupid loading times for accessing the menu, then yes. I loved the extras for it. After that, the retcon to be directly linked to Chrono Cross irked me. Megaman X? Not a good remake? You sure? You should check Megaman: Maverick Hunter X. I got it, it's plain kickass. I prefer it so much more than Megaman: Powered Up. Never really tried Oddworld, besides a demo of Abe's Oddyssey (briefly). I can't say much about it. As for Earthworm Jim, it's really a loss. I loved the second, which I still got the cartridge of for Super Nintendo. For Chrono Trigger, I was counting extras (including animations) as well as DS port. Not solely PSX port. Many SNES to PSX ports suffered load issues. Ogre Battle and Tactics Ogre had similar issues. I own both original X and remake MHX. Given that, the remake is still the lesser version. I won't bother with the cell phone "remake". Remake is slower and less responsive, more pop take to the music (preference opinion), with difference of outcome triggers when concerning Vile fights (that used to require X to be defeated). As well as artistic sequence and art style (Vile jumps out of plane, not just falls after it goes by. Less liking to the more chibi aimed style, not exactly chibi but more influenced). I could go on. I'm not saying it is bad, I'm just saying it lacks charm and care the original had. The original had pizaz that lacked as soon as X2. Oddworld was fantastic either way. Not much discrepancy with response. The team maintained the care they had when rebuilding the new version. Earthworm Jim... Even an interview with the surviving co-creator said Gameloft did a bad job...

I dunno. Square tends to disappoint to a degree when it comes to all their Final Fantasies.
While I enjoy VI the most, with IV, X, then the PSX three. Tactics is with VI as it was a great story.
Outside of those, I would have liked to have Crisis Core on PSN, Agito HD on Vita, or the intended Fabula Nova Crystalis. But oh well...
Didn't play much II or III, but I continue to hope for a VI continuation.

It depends. There have been a lot of ports, remakes and reimaginings. Some are good, some decent. Some not great. All depends on who is involved, if they wish to maintain the charm/atmoaphere.
Square did a decent job maintaining Chrono Trigger when porting it to PSX and DS.
Capcom didn't do a terrific job reimagining MegaMan X.
Oddworld Inhabitants did a good job remaking Oddworld.
Gameloft did a poor job remastering Earthworm Jim.
I like older games. Lots more charm. But to bring it to a new console, it needs care. Care to port, care to reimagine, care to remake, etc. It is easy to see those with a lack of care. Which hurts the fanbase of said game and the game longevity outside its original release.

Eh, we don't always have to have a 3d envisionment of a concept. Sometimes 2D is good enough. Iga-san seems more directed at keeping this particular 2D alive than the pressured 3D form past producers (Konami).
Sometimes 2D makes a dent in the crowds of 3D.

That would be entertaining.
It wouldn't be all that difficult to pull off a new incarnation of the game. Not with Uncharted and such present. Plenty of formulas to mix and match. Only issue would be narrative...
I almost tossed in Blaster Master, almost, if not for a new entry in the franchise a little over a month away.
Though two I will throw out there:

Tossing out my two cents.
It's 3d models, so butts are going to be seen officially or unofficially.
Artistically, crystals will form where they can be seen.
Realistically they would form on the exterior prior interior.
However due to the nature of fantasy, one could consider if the nature of the crystal assumes control of the body as a solid or if it is more gelatinous prior death. If it is whole chunks of flesh or merely skin/covering surface. If chunks, it'll go for whatever, butt included (which would emphasize pain).
Or if it kills what transforms. If any part of the interior is crystallized, it'll kill the host faster than anything. If it behaves normally (gelatinous, or exterior forming) then it may allow organs to function until progression assumes most of the host organs/body.
If former, butt, colon, genitalia, etc will all be subject and be present as long as the host lives with the curse. Of later, they will still be subject, but functional (with some issues I'd assume) as long as the organ isn't subjected to the point of encapsulation.

I would suggest Star Tropics. But as old as I am now, I have come to peace that it is gone, forgotten and replaced by other under utilized or sterilized IP's.
Since I could mention many from NES era, most are lost in legal mumbo-jumbo. Which makes me fantasize for a universal console designed for preserving all past games (a library of sorts).

Technically it isn't legal. In that the rom wasn't ripped personally, as well as the intent. The rom is meant for backup, not to be actively played. But it falls into a kind of grey area.
On topic, I have played SotN since the PSX generation. Not right at release but prior PS2. I've always wanted the Saturn version to be ported or at least have those special assets duplicated for a non-Saturn port. Will never happen but I've always liked the cloaked Richter and martial artist Maria...

Sleeping Dogs is fantastic! Great combat, intense story. Lots of freedom in-between missions.
