I've no objection to this. Let IGA take his time and make the game something better for us to sink our teeth into.
This announcement also has a better sense of timing then MN9's delays. (Months in advance rather then almost right before the listed release.)
Besides, I've got a fair amount of gaming related goods that I'd want to get early next year (such as the NX and Breath of The Wild), so it's for the best for my gaming budget that one gaming good has been pushed to a later date.

The C&D in this situation feels similar to the C&D Sega sent at the fan version of Streets of Rage.
The company likely doesn't want to have to 'compete' with its fanbase when their own games release. (Sun/Moon is still a fair distance off, though.)
Anyway, it's a shame for anyone who was looking to get the game. I wasn't one of them, but I'll offer what condolences and sympathy I can to people who are going to have to be careful about downloading the game now.

I've recently upgraded from my LGA340 to an iPhone5. So I've been messing around with Pokémon Go lately.
I go on at least one 'Pokewalk' a day through my neighborhood. Despite its popularity, the app isn't really that much fun. It's basically just the 'walk back and forth in the grass and wait for a Pokémon to appear' concept from the main Pokémon games in the form of an app. But, eh, Go seems to be in something of a beta form, so I'll give it time to grow before passing final judgment.

Okay, I'll admit, when I saw the thread title, my first thought was 'Sweet Arceus, was the third version of the GenVII games announced already?'.
But at least I can actually get myself talking about this. I can barely speak about Sun/Moon (or 'Pokémon S&M', as my witty self and some witty friends have taken to calling them) because of how crazily anti-spoiler I'm being. Don't want to see new Pokémon designs, Gym Leader designs, Gym Trainer designs, anything regarding the obligatory villainous team, etc.
Anyway, I'm genuinely impressed with the trailer. This really looks like it could have been an official GenIV or GenV game. (Minus the fact that GenV had animated battle portraits for the Pokémon.) The 'Fakemon' as people call them, are really well designed and look like they could have been in a real game. I think what really drove that home for me was the scene where a 'Tanscure' was facing off with a Gligar, and the Tanscure didn't really look meaningfully out of place to me.
And I like that it's 2-D. There's nothing wrong with 3-D graphics, but there's a certain 'something' that sprites just convey much better. Watching that video by itself made me want to go back to my Soul Silver cartridge.
That's my immediate thoughts. Maybe I'll come up with more stuff to say later.

I would not be entirely opposed to the idea of Miriam whipping me.
Also, remember how things looked in the demo. Just want to say that in case anyone is worried about the framerate in the video.

I was initially confused, not upset, at Federation Force. And I ultimately feel that FF's problem was just bad timing.
This is the first Metroid game since Other M, a game that was very negatively received, due in large part to how Samus was characterized. Then the franchise fell silent for years, and when it comes back, we're all hoping for a game that will wash the taste of Other M out of our mouth. And we get... chibi Federation Soldiers? And Samus isn't the main character?
Had something like this come out between, say, Prime 2 and Prime 3, the reaction probably wouldn't have been nearly as bad. I grant it's not the game I would have wanted for Metroid's return. I still want a game that brings back the six hunters from Metroid Prime: Hunters. I thought all six of them had potential. Especially Sylux and Trace.
Anyway, yesterday I stopped using my old LGA340 phone and upgraded to an iPhone 5. (It was a hand-me-down from a family member.) So now I'm busy experimenting with apps, such as Miitomo and Pokémon Go.

Just changed to the demo menu theme.
It looks nice, though will take some getting used to. I have OCD, and I exhibit one of that mental disorder's symptoms of frequently being moderately opposed to 'new' things.
At least the new design soothes my OCD need to count things. There's a lot of stuff to count in those stained glass designs in the top left and top right part of the screen now.

Currently bouncing between Splatoon and Mario Kart 8 on the Wii U, and Hyrule Warriors Legends on the 3DS. And once a day I stop by Nintendo's technically-free-but-has-microtransactions game, Nintendo Badge Arcade.
PS4 isn't doing much right now. Though I did entertain a playthrough of Samurai Warriors 4: Empires yesterday. (Genesis mode, I have much more fun with custom scenarios then I do with the historical scenarios.)

I'd have downloaded it... if it weren't for the fact that I'm still using a LGA340.
My brother and my nephew both have the app, though. Which is making driving around a real pain when they're in the car. Because they keep demanding that I pull over or take this detour so that they can try to catch this or that Pokémon.

The level cap going up really depresses me. I liked how the game seemed to be rebalanced for a level cap of 99, them raising the level cap like that hurts my desire to continue playing the game. On the Wii U version, I raised Volga to level 255, but used the rupee glitch to deal with anyone else I wanted up at that level. I don't want to have to put up with that again.
As for the new characters, I have to say that it's like every kicking moveset in a Warriors games becomes a favorite of mine. (Naotori Ii's War Princess Boots is one of my best weapons in SW4, whilst I've been using Guan Suo of Dynasty Warriors more ever since he traded the nunchucks away in favor of the Sabatons.) Linkle's Winged Boots are no exception. Though I slightly favor Linkle's Crossbows for crowd control purposes.
But Marin's bell is the real standout of this batch of DLC. I love the moveset of that thing. A few friends of mine were complaining about a 'repetitive sound' with the weapon, but the music note sound isn't really bothering me. It's not a tenth as annoying as the high pitched noise that Tatl and Tael make when you play as Skull Kid. (That sound is piercingly annoying on the Wii U version where it's significantly louder.)

As an amiibo collector (63 amiibos as of writing, but that will bump up to 65 once I pick up my pre-ordered Squid Sisters amiibos from Gamestop this Friday) I wouldn't mind this.
Amiibo content in games is typically nothing groundbreaking. Usually they just unlock costumes (Mario Kart 8, Yoshi's Woolly World, etc.), or are a power-up (Kirby: Planet Robobot, Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD, etc.). There are a few examples of amiibos unlocking entire modes (I can bring up Twilight Princess HD again, since you need the Wolf Link amiibo to access the new Cave of Shadows bonus dungeon) but those are few and far between.
I imagine that a Bloodstained amiibo would function like a powerup. Scan your Miriam amiibo, regain a substantial amount of health, or whatnot. Probably with a limitation connected to it (Kirby: Rainbow Canvas has a 'you can scan this amiibo only once per day' rule to it) But, as an amiibo collector, what would really be compelling to me about a Miriam amiibo is that it would allow us to bring Miriam to various Nintendo games.
Originally I had thought that the non-Nintendo character amiibos in the Smash line would do next to nothing, but I was pleasantly surprised to see Nintendo prove me wrong with all the use they managed to get out of the Sonic, Pacman, and etc. amiibos. So long as the air between Nintendo and IGA is good, perhaps we could give Miriam silly little cameos in future Mario games with an amiibo.

Yeah, as a warning, Kamiya recently said on Twitter that anyone who tried to talk to him about Mighty Number 9 is getting blocked.
Last I checked, he had blocked three 'Mighty idiots'.

So, in the credits of MN9, one of the backers actually has his or her name listed as "Kamiya was right".
(Mighty No. 5040, he's at about 1:44-1:45 of this video.)
Speaking of Kamiya...

Long story short, Koei went insane with increasing the level cap on the Wii U version.
At launch, the level cap was 99.
Which was then raised via patch to 150.
Which was then raised via patch to 200.
Finally capping at level 255.
At the very least, Hyrule Warriors Legends has proven to be more balanced in this regard. It looks like the level cap isn't going past 99. (Though as a trade-off, leveling is moderately slower in Legends.)

Well, at least new characters and weapons on the 3DS version are being added to the Wii U version. I'm sure that once HW:L has run its course, the Wii U version will seem like the better experience.
I'm done with the Wii U version's grinding, though. Grinding all the way up to level 255? Who in the world thought that was a good idea? (It was probably intended to be a reference to the funny little 255-256 issue with the old NES, but still, dumb.)

Some defenders are saying that the game is 'okay'. But to me, that's a problem. People pledged money to this game, expecting a game that recaptured the greatest of Mega Man and was a true spiritual successor. People aren't willing to settle for an 'okay' game. It doesn't help that this 'okay' game was delayed way too many times, and for a feature that barely anyone actually cared about. You may season this dish of disappointment with the broken promises, and for dessert, consider the fact that this game was made by Inafune and Inti-Creates, aka people who worked on Mega Man in the franchise's golden years. It really bothers me because Inti-Creates typically makes quite good games, like the Zero games, the new Shantae game, and Gunvolt. (I actually didn't care much for Gunvolt, I only bring it up because that game was loved by the same fans upset over Mighty Number 9.) Honestly, Mega Man games have been forced to settle with 'okay' games for years (imo, Mega Man 9 is within that category, once you get past the nostalgia I don't consider it all that good of a game), and I think that's a big reason why Mega Man is in both a creative and financial rut right now. The fan-artists got hit by the irony stick big time, though. deadeyemcduck.deviantart.com/art/Mighty-No-9-Save-us-all-399543067All these comics of how MN9 was this great savior and the salvation for the Mega Man fans, and you'd be hard-pressed to make a list of Mega Man games that are worse then MN9. (Ignoring obvious choices like X7 or the DOS or any mobile games.) I remember how often the 'dead IP walking' comic got posted in discussions, won't be seeing much of that these days. Now, it's fine if you like MN9. More power to you, I have no intention of dictating your interests and likes/dislikes for you. But there is just no getting around the general disaster this game ended up being, which ended up with a mediocre at best product.

I see. I guess I should apologize as the first one in the thread who linked to an article that attributed 'Better then nothing' to Inafune. I greatly dislike in assisting the spread of misinformation.

That sonic Twitter account is funny and amazing, now I just wish they could get some actual decent sonic games U no liek Sonic Boom?
Y u so hrd 2 please?!
More seriously, I do have a friend who has the XB1 version of the game, and he's trying to be positive about it. He was actually planning in streaming the game, but MN9 wouldn't cooperate with the XB1's streaming system. So he's settling for tossing me some notes regarding the play experience.

So, I'm hearing reports that the Wii U version is hardlocking/bricking the console. Can anyone confirm?
If you can confirm, I hope it's not due to first hand experience.
Wii U version is also reported to be having irritating loading times and sketchy frame rate.
EDIT: Oh! Oh! Let's talk about some more problems with MN9's launch.
1. Codes sent via Humble Bundle
2. No E-Mail regarding the codes was sent, and codes were in an odd spot to start.
3. People got two Retro Hero DLC codes and people weren't getting Ray DLC codes.
4. 360 version got another delay.
