I've been hearing that MGSV:TPP is getting perfect/near perfect reviews all around the internet.
I played and enjoyed MGS1, 2, and 4 (wasn't able to get 3 back in the day), but for some reason I never had much of a drive for MGS5. Konami going insane didn't exactly make me more enthusiastic about it.

Amiibo

I'd certainly enjoy Bloodstained amiibo. A Miriam amiibo at the very least. But while it would obviously work with Bloodstained, I wonder how much use the amiibo would have going forward.
Nintendo did defy my prediction and is getting an exceptional amount of use out of the Mega Man, Pacman, and Sonic amiibos (I had previously assumed that they wouldn't be doing much of anything besides being amiibo fighters in Smash.) but I still wonder how much I'd be doing with Miriam outside of Bloodstained. Though it would be hilarious to give Yoshi a Miriam costume in Wooly World.
I do like that Nintendo is letting you unlock the amiibo costumes in Super Mario Maker via the 10-Mario Challenge/100-Mario Challenge even if you don't actually have the amiibo. You don't need to be insane to get your hands on the Lucario or Meta Knight costumes. I'd enjoy a system where amiibo owners can unlock stuff painlessly, and non-amiibo owners still have a way to unlock the goods without the figures and without paying additional $ on the eShop.

Among the various holy weapons in Castlevania, the only thing that ever made me raise an eyebrow, as a Christian (not to start a cyber religion war, but I'm one of 'em), was the Bible being used as a weapon.
Outside of that, I never saw a reason to be bothered by anything in the franchise in that regard. I certainly wouldn't mind seeing holy weapons in Bloodstained, and I'm sure they'll be in one way or another. Even if they're only used by Zangetsu.

As a gamer from the 90s, I recall when DLC wasn't even a thing. There were expansion packs at best. And while DLC is not fundamentally bad, I find it disheartening when a game comes out and people are discussing possible DLC months before the game is even out. Heck, I think that the new Star Wars Battlefront had DLC announced for it literally the day the game was revealed.
Relevant picture.
Yeah, I agree that the combination of scarcity and scalping has put a definite negative vibe on the whole thing. I'm curious about something, though -- and I haven't followed the topic to any great depth to know -- is there any "DLC" that goes beyond outfits and reskinning characters? That's all I've seen in the functionality of the ones I've bought, so for me, no big deal as I could care less about access to outfits. Are there any games where entire levels or boards are unlocked? I'm told you need amiibos to do Amiibo Party in MP10. You also need amiibos to unlock the Fire Emblem characters in Codename S.T.E.A.M., and you'll be needing FE amiibos again to unlock Marth, Ike, Robin, and Lucina again once Fates gets released over here. So, yeah, a few games where the amiibo unlocks aren't just costumes.
Normally I don't think that costumes are worth the extra $, but they aren't why I've been collecting amiibos. The various Mii costumes that I've gotten in MK8 are just dumb bonuses.

Warning, this is just my opinion. Hate, despise, disgusted. You're just buying toys with the excuse that they give some small bonus for Wii U games, and they're all over $10. I wouldn't touch Amiibos with a ten-foot pole. Though I have to admit, it's a great way to make easy money on Nintendo's part since it appeals to collectors. And then there's the scalpers, who buy loads of a certain amiibo and then resell them with absurd prices. We're talking about the $50+ range. (To not even get into the MariotehPlumber nonsense.) Though Nintendo producing more amiibos and most sellers adopting one-per-customer rules has lessened the problem somewhat.
I really hated the nonsense around the Silver Mario and Gold Mario amiibos. Mostly because they're functionally just regular Mario amiibos, they just have an unimaginative paint job added to them.
It is nice to see them function across multiple games, though I admit I'm not a big fan of the 'physical DLC' concept. At least Nintendo is using all/almost every amiibo in games like Mario Maker and Wooly World. I had thought that amiibos like Duck Hunt or Shulk wouldn't be doing much of anything past Smash outside of games with generic 'any amiibo' awards.

Going for the Wii U, for Gamepad map purposes.
My Castlevania career is limited to SoTN, PoR, and OoE, and I think the latter two spoiled me on being able to look at the map without first pausing the game.

I've been collecting amiibos since last year's holiday season. I keep them lined on my shelf in the order I got them in.
Marth, Link, Meta Knight, Rosalina, Kirby, Samus, Robin, Inkling Boy, Pacman, Inkling Girl, Zelda, Wii Fit Trainer, Mega Man, Charizard, Palutena, and Mario.
Also have a Shulk amiibo coming in, estimated delivery is Monday, and I've pre-ordered the Retro amiibo 3-Pack containing R.O.B., Duck Hunt, and Mr. Game & Watch.
Amiibo, and other 'toys to life' brands are really the only figures I'm interested in.

I do, however it's still at the "Arcade Only" phase It was just announced for a worldwide 2016 Wii U release. I, however, have a problem with the game. Namely the fact that I have yet to see SCIZOR. Or Deoxys. Or Mewtwo.
Ah, for the thread subject, the only game I have pre-ordered at this time is Super Mario Maker. Semi-gaming, I also have the amiibo Retro 3-Pack pre-ordered, so I'll be getting the amiibos for R.O.B., Duck Hunt, and Mr. Game & Watch.

I just hope they don't think of copying the boss' of Momohime's route. I disliked the platforming gimmicks her later bosses had. That platforming it was much worse executed then that crab from Order of Ecclesia. (Whom you dropped an elevator on for MASSIVE DAMAGE.) Though the Human Swallowing Demon boss in hell almost made up for it.
My experience is just the Rebirth version, which I got for free on the Vita via PS+. Never got the DLC stories, though.
I suppose I wouldn't mind if Bloodstained took a cue from Muramasa's weapon forging system. A somewhat grindy forging system is better then one that expects you to jump through hoops to find the ludicrously rare forge items needed for super ultimate equipment.

Eh, as much as I loved the Lion King movie, I didn't really like the Lion King world in KHII. Mostly due to the execution of the world's narrative. The acting in the world also left something to be desired. The one really good line in that world, imo, was the flashback of Simba yelling as Mufasa was killed, and that was archived audio from the original movie.
I've played just about every Kingdom Hearts game, minus Chain of Memories, Coded, Dream Drop Distance, and the .5 HD games, and generally enjoyed most of them, ridiculous story aside. However, I found Dream Drop Distance to be an absurdly underwhelming game. Which is a shame, because we finally got a Hunchback of Notre Dame world.

I've no meaningful objection to a sequel. Perhaps my tune will change after playing Bloodstained or seeing the ending, but for now I'd be open to Bloodstained 2 (plus smaller side-games) if the first is a success.
Not sure how I feel about the idea of another Kickstarter for the next Bloodstained, but at least I'd hope that it won't be anywhere near as badly timed as Inafune's Red Ash Kickstarter. (Announced on a Saturday when most news outlets wouldn't report it, on the 4th of July when most Americans weren't at their computers, and in the middle of Shenmue 3's Kickstarter.)
Also, while it's not likely due to them only being made for characters who appear in Nintendo games, but I'd love it if amiibos for Miriam and other Bloodstained characters were made.

Not one to travel, but I'll attend the stream if my schedule is free during that time.
More Bloodstained info is always appreciated. Until it gets story spoiler-tastic.

Hello everyone, I'm Scuttlest. It was only in the last hour that I learned that this forum had launched. I am also Scuttlest on Kickstarter (as well as just about everywhere else), but I only posted once to Bloodstained's comment section on the KS website so you probably won't recognize me. I was one of the $60 backers, and will be getting a physical Wii U version of the game.
Even on the internet, I can be a bit quiet, so expect me to be more of a lurker then a discusser. Still, you'll probably see me here and there.
