i have so many cv osts, remixes and albums its not funny, so therell be a bunch of editing to this one as i piece things together
cvlos has an epic ost, my main problem with it is so few songs are memorable, most of them are walls of sound that do fit well when youre playing the game, but too many songs hit you upside the head with a skyscraper or sound way too similar so you cant easily pick one out, waterfalls of agharta though is an excellent piece, it has a simplicity to it where you can readily tell it apart and it builds upon its own motif, rather than most of the soundtracks heavy reliance on reusing the gods mask/last battle themes everywhere, it does make for a unified movielike soundtrack but it loses a lot of what makes castlevania music so epic, that you can have wildly different compositions right next to each other but they fit the area they are tied to and enhance it so well that you dont notice a jump from a heavy metal piece like tragic prince to a period harpsichord piece like wood carving partita, and the songs are memorable, how many people remember the 18 second song Silence that only plays once in SotN, or can tell the 4 boss themes apart fairly quickly and their relative place in the game, or be able to hum songs from classicvania like bloody tears, silence of daylight, monster dance, wicked child, vampire killer, mad forest, sinking old sanctuary, iron blue intention, calling from heaven, slash, opus 13, beginning, bloodlines, cross fear, overture, dance of the holy man, and out of time
epic but memorable

If there's some kind of weapon/equipment loadout swapping option, it should be fast and snappy with no menu nonsense. I never used Dawn of Sorrow's because it felt so clunky to me, but OoE's feels fine. A good option to cycle through equipment means the difference between Phantasy Star Online (fast, on the fly, overall very non-intrusive to gameplay) and Phantasy Star 0 (slow, you have to stand still, and it doesn't pause the gameplay). actually i have the opposite problem, dos its a button push and youve swapped, theres 2 options so you dont have to cycle or accidentally pick the wrong one ooe i cant stand that i have to hold down a button, cycle through, and im constantly overshooting or picking the wrong set cause i went the wrong direction, or getting hit cause my backdash is occupied, its as unintuitive as having to use A to use an item in skyward sword instead of B >.< i think a mix of the 2 systems would be better, where you can have up to 3 sets like ooe but you have the added option to turn set c off for a more dos setup, and have swapping mapped to a single button press (maybe l1/r1 by default) so you arent having to perform an awkward button combo to swap and are less likely to overshoot anyway, as for the other games i dont have any issues with sotn that arent because of my playstyle, i end up way overleveled in a lot of games because im ocd about lists and collecting stuff, i can still go into that game and try something new like early doublejump or wolfjumping to see how far i can get cotm isnt an Iga game, but it still needs to be said that this is why dark for darkness sake is a horrible idea, that game you hant see half of whats going on most of the time even backlit, its soooooooooo sloooooooooooow to move around, and the most horrid idea ive seen in any cv game is to have a magic centric mode and STILL HAVE THE ARENA TAKE AWAY YOUR MAGIC!!! >o</ _|_|_ so now youre vastly underpowered, probably underlevelled cause magic spam, and cant get 3 rooms in cause the one thing your character is good at is completely useless hod, its got to be the music, the blips make the awesome soundtrack really hard to listen to, although they stll manage to make vampire killer have all the epic and make the blips work in its favor aos/dos, the insanely low drop rates, hands down por i really wish had larger areas, with maybe a bit more variety within them, like instead of having 2 seperate portraits with the same theme have each portrait have 2 entrances, and have a room that serves to keep you from going into that 2nd section too early, but once you open that room from the second entrance you can then continue into the areas that were previously inaccessible because you didnt have x relic ooe see above, also magic pixel syndrome and wombo combo, i just spent 3 hours going 3 rooms and dying to enkidu, then another hour fighting that tsunami boss hoping the ai didnt just spam that splash attack i cant dodge cause i have to get so close to avoid the hair whip, or i get hit once and get juggled between enemies and lose half my hp in seconds, or an enemy will just spawn inside my hitbox (damn you bitterfly!!!), i die so fucking much in that game, and im on normal ;_; loi and cod have copypaste syndrome bad, other than that and some occasionally twitchy hitboxes i really liked the games

99% of ocremix, i seriously have like 20 gigs of it in a massive playlist on my ipod, looots of music anything Zelda Castlevania or FF, almost everything else square has made pretty much FFMQ doesnt get enough love, for how simplistic the game is the ost and the remixed tracks are pretty badass, especially the final area and boss BoF \^_^/ Ys, all of them, but heres 1&2 Faxanadu yeee Phantasy Star 4 ^_^ HELL FUCKING YES, ALL THE YES \ / theres a lot more games, but then it starts to get into the categories of i either like a couple songs and listen to the rest as bg music, or ambient music that is good but much better when its with the game (re, silent hill, etc), or its in my list to play but i havent gotten around to it so i really havent listened to the music yet

What I want to know is how Samus freaks out over Ridley and acts like a helpless woman at that point She has fought Ridley like 3 or 4 times at that point,anyone I mean anyone at that point would not be afraid of facing something you killed multiple times,if anything you would feel either or bored or pissed of seeing it over and over again and would just want to drop kick it and take out all your frustration on the thing First time seeing Ridley,Yes I could understand samus freaking out due to her inexperience as a hunter and seeing the monster that killed and ate her parents and experience a trauma meltdown Second time...I could understand samus being a little nervous and uneasy but at the same time she killed it before and would have a lot more confidence since she knows she can beat it Third time...She should have no fear whatsoever of the thing,have overcome her fear totally and be confident and be thinking of how to kill this thing fast and get it done and over with Fourth time....By now samus would be bored of seeing this damn thing and be thinking to herself "This is repetitive,I need to Get a new Rival this one is done" and then casually without effort blast the creature to bits to the point ressurection was not possible So yeah...in that regard,many times samus was out of character for that game without a good reason www.metroid-database.com/manga/listing.php?vid=19www.metroid-database.com/manga/listing.php?vid=13www.vgchartz.com/article/81909/ptsd-or-weakness-real-experts-on-why-samus-didnt-shoot/this is why, its a comic thats considered canon and was a leadup to the first game and other m has elements based on it, problem is it makes about as much sense when you look at the actual games as the lttp nintendo power comics made

Battle of olympus, its an action platformer that id never heard of till a friend mentioned it, got some ninja gaiden bird jumps later in the game and the difficulty spikes in the maze, but its pretty fun to play

basically instead of composing one 2 minute song that then gets looped theyd compose 2-4 versions of the same song with tonal shifts that would then be layered and based on flags in the game one layer of song will fade in while the current layer playing will fade out, its very doable, but i see it being used sparingly for the first game, like examples above with the slowly twisting garden or heading into a frozen section of an area, under/overwater sections would probably be the most obvious place to implement that
i think its a cool idea, but i think it should be kept to a few specific things to actually heighten the impact of it, between Michiru, Ippo, and Virt im sure well get a suitably badass soundtrack and im totally for that being one of their many tricks to enhance a change in scenery within an area

to be fair, i liked the gameplay of other m, once i found out the actual backstory of other m is based on a comic where samus has ptsd towards ridley that part of the game made more sense, and other m isnt actually the first game where samus has a rather verbose inner monologue, you can thank fusion for that, you just have to sit through a bunch of voiced cutscenes in other m instead of elevator monologues
yes the adam may i use my varia suit is stupid, but they took a staple of metroid where you lose all your badass powers right after the beginning of the game and have to refind them and tried a new twist on it due to the inclusion of adam (who was introduced in fusion too), her former superior and who requested that if she joins on this mission she takes orders from him (which she would anyway because she does work for the federation as a bounty hunter), and it bombed hard because it makes samus look weak (it kinda does, i wouldve liked it much better if she had made the requests to adam for approval, it would make her more proactive and show an underlying level of trust that she would hold off until she thought she needed x and adam trusts her to hold off until she needed x, even moreso than its implied she trusts adam even though shes still kinda mad at him for reasons)
the whole dramatic level 0 scene later in the game, yeah it sucked, it couldve been handled so much better with samus not losing her shit, i think that couldve made for a great turning point where she reconciles with adam for doing what he had to do in the flashbacks, comes to terms with her mixed feelings over the metroid baby, and vows to bring the people that authorized this whole project to begin with to justice, or have had the game somehow be the first game in the timeline (or straight up said this isnt in the timeline, its an alternate story) and had it be about her transformation from the petty kid in the flashbacks to the badass bounty hunter you see singlehandedly wipe out planets full of enemies
so yeah, not a great game, but not as utterly horrible as i think people make it out to be. freedom force, yeah they shouldve announced that either along with or right after a new metroid game, but with them being so tight lipped about the nx it makes sense they havent said anything about metroid if the new ones being developed for it
