That's what I've been trying to say... and I think there should be some hidden stances for some dual weapons... not many but some

Yeah I know what you mean Kaius I am like you I want to grind for my gear too but not everyone wants to do that... and it seemed like many people didn't want to forge items either (I don't know why, I'm really excited about that feature). but this thread was for them, people who didn't want to grind or collect items to make their weapons and armor then I suggest they buy it through a sellers board... but it seems like not many people were interested in it LOL... Oh well

Yeah, I hope so too on both accounts... there should be "special" weapons and armor you cannot forge that are monster drops only (maybe they can be harvested for ingredients for stronger stuff)... and I like the idea of not being able to buy weapons you can forge (well maybe "normal" weapons like iron swords or something).

I'd like armors and items that represent that era in time. I understand the enjoyment people get from odd costumes and such but finding different capes in SOTN made the game fit into the time period and gave it an authentic feel. I hope for clothing and appearance changes that represent the times. The Plague mask is a good example of that. true, I think there will be era based clothes... but the other stuff is more like frosting, all the real clothes will be the cake XD. I want to see all the characters in fine clothes like you would wear for high tea or meeting important guests.

In a normal platformer... I could see it being ok... But we're talking about a spiritual successor to a game praised for its art, style, and exploration... and this is going to be 'Iga's biggest castle ever', with more pretty than ever due to the stained glass theme (hopefully)... It would be kind of a shame if players had to feel rushed thru that IMO... not to mention we already have a time attack mode! Not to mention the whole custom dress-up mechanic would feel pretty silly... Miriam's life is draining away from a curse but she has time to play dress-up...Plus if you have to goto a designated room or whatever to use that feature (and many people seem to have wanted a Miriam's room!), going out of your way to use that feature would also kinda be put aside. I'd have to agree with these points. I'd much rather see IGA keep things simple and Bloodstained doesn't sound like the type of game that needs to be rushed or have some sense of urgency added to it. Plus, it's possible to do too much and have a game come out feeling like a mess or add that one feature that hold backs the experience (like drawing the boss seals in Dawn of Sorrow). Iga said her curse will slowly consume her so I think he had some sort of curse meter in mind from the beginning... I don't think there will be "a sense of urgency".... but I do think it will be part of the gameplay.

I don't think farming would have anything to do with the gauge... I would think it would be harder to fill the gauge then lower it. maybe there could be a button that raises the meter... it could charge it or something... in my opinion, I think the stronger she becomes (the higher her lv) the faster her gauge charges... but it should never get so bad that you have to farm enemies. The other post was referring to this: "Perhaps there could be a "Curse Meter" that slowly fills as time goes on. Defeating bosses and otherwise advancing the story would reduce the Curse Meter. There could also be items dropped by normal enemies that do the same thing, but to a lesser extent." Oh, got it ^^; ... yeah I don't like the "advancing the story" to reduce the curse meter though.

I wouldn't mind this being part of the normal game mechanic, kinda... I think beating normal monsters should lower the meter. you could also use it in a strategy, where certain powers can only be unleashed with a high curse gauge...
I know this is nothing like the original post but I just think a curse gauge would be awesome.

Is there some way of measuring how many ms of lag you get or something? 50ms sounds like an eternity... Im pretty sure that even 10ma would make me pull my hair out when im playing a shmup, I absolutely cannot play them without a vsync off patch. yes it's called a Leo Bodnar test..

(TL;DR) If nothing else (delay aside) imagine the horsepower you have to produce 4k for and the small audience that would actually benefit from it. (PC). Neither of the current 8th Generation consoles (PS4 / Xbone) are remotely capable of 4k resolution. That's a big job for a bout 1/3rd maybe slightly less of your potential audience... but who cares about economics here, we're enthusiast so lets get on to the actual "problem" (its not really a problem) with 4k resolutions right now. First things first just read the first part about UHD and 4k. If you already know the numbers and resolutions just ignore this. = en.wikipedia.org/wiki/4K_resolution That said 4k is around 50% larger than your average 1080p, rocking the scales for sake of this argument at 3840 x 2160, the native "4k" youtube resolution. vs the 1920 x 1080 everyone is already familiar with. While the first comparison here deals with benefits and economics this numbers game is a whole different monster. Consider a graphics card for a PC with 256m DDR4 ram /w about 4gigs of memory may or may not like 4k, its really up in the air, and even if the card does do "4k" it's going to suffer in performance depending on graphic fidelity and how Bloodstained is programmed to operate in the first place. All in all doing this in native 4k would be out of the question simply based on presumed power of the rigs involved. I'm currently building a PC the specs aren't finished but essentially its likely going to run the combo of I7-6700k, GTX 980 ti, 16g DDR4 3200 ram. At least that's the plan. That rig would be able to handle 4k I'm fairly certain but that's also about 2000 USD by the final build. Could a 4k box be built cheaper, I'm sure. but just as an example that's what I'm looking at by comparison for future growth and to run 1080 absolutely flawlessly. The market for 4k is out there, that's not in question. But the market as it sits for native is going to be small even by PC guy standards who are literally the only guys who are allowed to care since the consoles are already outdated and in the end game designers can choose graphic power or expansive game design based on what they're building. That said I don't see why Bloodstained specifically would even have that problem in the first place based on that particular "rig" because the 4k shown and effects probably wont be the far side of ridiculous as I've noticed from the past that Iga milks subtlety for all its worth and takes a detailed yet not over the top approach. To be fair though, we all really have no idea how the games engine itself will scale and what may happen to up-scaling technology from now to release... It is due in "2017". (writing that date made my inner cyberpunk squee a bit... I want my robot body damnit!) first thing first 4k is roughly 4 times the size of 1080p or HD... pushing that aside, about power, most if not all new 4k tvs have dedicated processors ram (I think it's mainly for up sacaling but not really sure... but it helps with the processing issue... I know nothing about monitors (didn't research them enough). now talking about economy and trends, all I know is next year UHD bluray players are coming out and 4k tvs are getting really cheep (relatively, a really good one can cost roughly 3k I am hoping it goes down to 2k by early next year) and it will keep on going down. If UHD bluray players hit it big by the end of next year I am sure more people will buy 4k tvs and the price will drop farther... and by 2017 many games will be coming out in 4k... Mind you everything I said is pure speculation (except for the price of 4k tvs they are going down in price fast) And about consoles... don't count them out yet, there will be many updates and upgrades before 2017 and if the 4k market does get bigger, they will find out how to get their games to play 4k in 60fps. Also as you said Iga loves "milking subtlety for all it's worth" so can you imagine his work in 4k, I still think it would be amazing. Oh and about the robot body, with a tin can, a paper clip, and some clock gears I'm sure Tony Stark can help you out.

Yup there are stupid companies that designs their tvs to turn off "game mode" every time you turn off the tv set, so you have to turn game mode back on every time (face palm). but those sets are usually not aimed toward gamers.
I cannot stress this enough, do research before getting a new tv set or monitor.
Thank you, that is the first "reason to not do 4k" argument, that is valid (imo)... (did that last sentence make sense?) anyway, isn't 4k just scaling up and adding more detail? (I could be completely wrong about this) and when they port it to the Vita and WiiU, won't they just need to scale it down? and if they make the game in 1080p won't they have to scale it down to vita's resolution anyway?
anyway I will not sit here and pretend I know what goes into game design, I don't know if 4k that much harder to create than 1080p, I can just speculate (see my speculations above) but that's it... all I'm saying is it would be really cool to see the game we backed, polished, to be the best looking game possible (for its time)... and if that means keeping the game in 1080p I am fine with that... but if it means putting in the extra work to make it 4k then I am fine with that too.

No, I wasn't talking about me lol my sad attempts at creating a theme are in the past... this was supposed to be for people who wanted to tinker with the theme a bit. that is why I suggested prizes, for initiative. In truth I just wanted to see what people would come up with lol

Actually I'm rather enjoy our conversation, I like how you state your argument and not just down the previous post. sorry about the bold and underlining thing it just seemed like all that writing started becoming a glob of numbers and letters... I wanted somethings to stick out (I mean did you read those tv models? to me they looked confusing without the underling),
And I agree if, you are a gamer that's use to single digit lag times then yeah "any" tv screen won't be a good choice for your gaming experience... cause even HDTVs (1080p tvs) have double digit lag times. one of the lowest is sony and it's around 16ms...
So if lag times matters to you then of course you won't game on a regular TV... but for many console gamers, that have been gaming on tvs forever, lag time just doesn't matter (within reason.. reason being between 20-50ms).
