That's a great idea, Redogan ! Angel-Corlux will have the last word, of course, but I do think there are some considerations we would still have to keep in mind: 1: It may be difficult for the team to give specific "completion numbers" and not end up disappointing people later. As the adage goes, "The last 10% of a project will take up 90% of the time." Like, say the team is 90% done with implementing the new characters--models, voices, animations, etc. are all set up. So they say they're 90% done with that on the update and people go "Yay!" But then it turns out that there are some bugs/graphical errors with the characters in a certain part of the game, and they need to to fix it. As it turns out, that bug is extremely hard to get rid of and it takes them months to deal with it! So then the fans get angry because something that was "90% done" takes so long, even though that kinda thing is common in the development process. 2: Like I mentioned above, spoilers are a concern. If we say something like "The second character is already 90% done at this point! " and then people see a video of the Zangetsu boss fight, well, it'll be easy for them to conclude that Zangetsu is the second character by putting two and two together. Like I said, IGAvania fans are smart, so that's another reason for IGA to keep everything on lockdown as much as possible to prevent from spoiling us, even inadvertently IMO, the development process is more convincing than the "We are working on it" PR statement

1) I am fine if they can pull it off nicely like what they did in OOE. I will definitely say NO if it is just some over dramatic shounen manga scene. mythology, nature, history and such are public domain, unless iga featured a trademarked plant hybrid or like THE beast from disneys beauty and the beast hes fine (having a version of beauty and the beast based on the grimm story is fair game though since its public domain) music is a much bigger minefield because you can only have so many notes in succession that sound palatable and theres hundreds of years of songs out there for someone to go "these 3 notes sound liek this one song from 1840 uzbekistan and therefore its copyrighted RUIN THE ENTIRE ARTIST AND REMOVE ALL THEIR SONGS FROM EVERY GAME EVER!!!" whether it was warranted or not (cough metal gear resident evil cough) This is the problem with copyright. While everyone talks about protecting the creator etc, I think the copyright law we have now "overprotects" the creator. Instead of encouraging innovation, the creator turns it into cash cow.

I like all the ideas except for the fifth. I find the restriction meaningless and it has nothing to do with difficulty. If someone needs 9 potions to kill a boss, then he must be doing it wrong. While I always restrict myself from using potion in castlevania, I don't want to stop other players from spamming pots.

1) Do you think that fashion items will take up common equipment slots or they will just be cosmetic options at separate equipping slots (and possibly not offering any bonuses whatsoever)? I suggest to have an "illusionist" to apply the fashion on the equipment2) For now, we can assume the fashion items and common equipment are two different things (but maybe they aren't). It is nothing wrong to provide some fan service.6) The Rapier shown at the video has flowers at it's handle. Flowers, crystals and stained glasses are a common theme at the game and that also can be seen at it's weapons form earlier concept arts. Of course, that also makes these weapons really unrealistic. What are your thoughts regarding this? Style over realism, or realism over style? 7) Knives and daggers, such as the one showed at the video, in most Igavanias, normally disappear after a while. You may find some good ones early-to-mid game and then, they just vanish. Do you think that all weapon types should have weapons during most of the game (like, all weapon types at early game, mid-game and end-game) to give the players the ability to use their favorite types through the whole game? Take in consideration that doing that requires resoucers, that could be used at making some weapons more unique and interesting than a myriad of less-detailed weapons in order to meet "all weapon types at all times" request. I think all weapon types at all times provides better gaming experience.8) Bloodstained has, officially confirmed, 5 basic damage elements: Fire , Ice , Light ,Dark , and Thunder/Lightning . It's expected that, besides the Fire Sword shown at the demon, Bloodstained will probably have at least one weapon for each element. Considering the game's massive size (being IGA's biggest castle) it's very possible that Bloodstained will have tons of weapons. Would you like if all weapon types had at least one weapon for each damage element? Like, one dagger for each element, one sword for each element, one whip for each element and such? Again, like question #2, this requires resources and has a huge chance of creating less-detailed and interesting weapons, killing some possibilities of creating more unique and interesting ones. well, we only need 5 weapons for each weapon type, I think that is not unrealistic expectation. I believe Iga can make it happen.9) Bloodstained seems to have 5 status effects, considering it's icons at the game's menu: curse , poison , slow , stone and stop . Igavanias of the past had few weapons with such effects, like poisoned swords or stone-turning blades. Would you like if Bloodstained had weapons with all the effects above? Maybe at most or all weapon types? Again, like question #2 or #3, always have in mind that this requires resources and the killing of potentially unique weapons. I would like to have all the effects on all the weapon types. Unique weapon is meaningless. Let's say you found a poison sword at level 10, the weapon will be outdated when you hit level 50. If we don't have other weapon with poison status effect, it means we throw the mechanism out of windows since no player will use a low level weapon on high level.10) A Katana, like the one in the video, was elected blindly at the "sword VS whip" contest to be one of the "most dangerous weapon in the game", that probably means that a Katana will be Miriam's "signature" weapon (like Alucard Sword is for Alucard and Claim Solais is for Soma Cruz), do you think that was a good idea, or would you like the dev team to have explained what the "sword VS whip" voting in the past really was, to let backers vote properly at what weapon they would like to be the game's "most dangerous weapon"? If you could choose, would you change the Katana for something else? I like Crissaegrim in SOTN and valmanway in AOS, so the signature weapon means nothing?11) Quick question about Axes and Lances / Halberds, like the Axe and Lance that was shown the video. Axes are normally slow and strong, while lances normally has a big range but are rather weak and also not very fast. Not much players seems to enjoy such weapons, because Igavania games is all about pacing and delivering the right attack at the right time. How do you think Axes and lances could be more interesting to be used? maybe we should try adding slow/stun/knockback effect to these weapon types12) As we all know, Morte has no Shard because it isn't a "full-fledged demon". That opens the possibility that some other enemies will also have no shard. Last update revealed a Giant Rat. Do you think the Giant Rat will have a shard? If yes, what type and what kind of shard could it be? Yes. The shard gives the ability to fly

Sorry to hear DSLevantine . I first read it as you dislike the ideas but now see that you hate them.
But what are your suggestions? It would be way better to respond with an idea, rather than just say its idiotic of me to share ideas that would spice up the difficulty mode. Valuable input you got there, thank you so much. I am so sorry you got angry and needed to write that you are truthfully, and with your whole heart really hate my ideas. Sorry I ruined your day sir.
Response from Discord:gene - Yesterday at 10:28 PM Anybody play Dragon's Crown? they have three ways of increasing difficulty 1. changing enemy combinations in a room. same stats, but the new grouping makes things more challenging. 2. adding one extra move for certain enemies. even bosses gain one or two extra attack phases. either new moves or summon minions. 3. adding 'elite' enemies that have even deadlier moves than regular enemies. I am sorry. It is not my intention to annoy you. Please allow me to rephrase my sentence "We have different opinion on the game". I hope this will make you feel better I've been here for a few months and I thank you for providing valuable information and ideas from time to time. Looking back at the post history, I actually like your posts but unfortunately we have different opinion on the nightmare difficulty.

Would you guys enjoy huge or small changes towards nightmare difficulty?- Change enemy placement. - Add a random generated placement on enemies. - Change important item placement. - Add a random generated placement within limited number of areas. So instead of top right we have item X to get across a river, it might be in center bottom. This would be a cool mod! - More attack and movement patterns on enemies, but most bosses. - Add a frenzy / faster boss fight. Have them either speed up or be faster in the first place. - Limit the amount of potions you can carry, or any other special items. - Change a few items into something else, similar to reverse castle ring and rib of Vlad. To give smaller buffs or to summon a powerful special boss (not IGA boss). - Add bleeding attacks from enemies, which would drain health over periods of time if hit too much. Even if potions were limited, saverooms and shops could save your life. - Close the shop, everyone in the village is probably dead during this difficulty anyways. - Some saverooms (if there are any), now only treat wounds and fills you health, a few others can also save, but they are scattered. (Random placements on which is which could make this difficulty interesting as well!) - Add mist, deadly traps and other objects that either needs to be broken, walked around or just make it more difficult for our heroes to pass through, reason: More time, more of a challenge. Imagine a block of stone you need to cut to make a ramp. This while monsters are running or flying towards you. - End boss needs to be defeated twice. Second time with a higher frenzy speed and attack pattern. - From Facebook, someone wrote: Enemies gain invulnerability to certain elements Thoughts? No offense, I actually hate all the ideas

Back to topic, a good vs evil story is very childish while story with moral ambiguity is very interesting. Not necessarily. It all depends on the execution and writing. There probably will be a "bad ending" with Miriam becoming fully corrupted, but I think it will be the usual IGA bad ending (one that stops you before you've seen everything). Maybe IGA will take the concept one step further and add this as an alternate ending with equal "dignity", but of course it won't be as developed as it would be in a proper RPG. I agree, it all depends on the execution and writing. The problem is, we need a very good story writer to execute it well, bloodstained is not a novel so I don't think they have time and resource to do that. From my experience with JRPG and movies, a good vs evil story means a very naive protagonist with plot armor. On the other hand, antagonist always refuses to kill protagonist for no reason. If the dev wants to have a good vs evil story, I hope they can do better than that.

A game I can think of which executed this very well is Tactics Ogre: Let us Cling Together PSP
in Lawful route (canon), MC decided to dirty his hands and massacre the whole village then put the blame on his enemy
in Langrisser 2 and 4, depending on your choice, you can slay all your former team mates.
elder scroll, MC is the guild master of thief guild and assassin guild
