The prior demo release leaked out several things that I don't think they intended or were happy with, so I think they're going to be careful about that now and not push something out while they're also very busy from game show season/everything else to prevent potential oversight. To release it now would also potentially be redundant and add work unnecessarily since they're planning to give us two of the "game slice" (as Enkeria put it) pieces before the game is out. I'd actually prefer if it were something new/different than the E3 2017 part, since I've seen just about everything I can from that. Good point but I hope they address the issue, tell the backers instead of ignoring it. We backed the game because we have confident in Iga. I just want to say that my confidence level is decreasing over time and it is up to the dev to restore and retain the confidence level of a fan. While I don't want to spread negativity or rush them to finish the game, I just want them to update us on the demo or the beta.

Yup. It is clear that they refuse to release the demo to backers because they want to use it in gaming events. To be honest, I feel a bit disappointed at the way they treat the backers. Everyone have a different view on things. For me, I never expected a demo at all. I see how difficulty it is to both balance a game with x amount of features, just to cut it out and fix a game slice for "everyone" to play with (on PC). I do not know if we are getting the 2017 E3 demo, or something new. Living in a country where no events exist, makes you also wonder why the demo is not out for backers. When it comes down to it, I believe IGA wants the best for the most vivid fans, and while working on it he sees flaws that must be addressed and this keeps on pushing the game slice. Also, he might not want you to play the same area again, which would be just fine for me! I could totally play the Galleon Minerva with updated graphics and structures. Cut out dialogues and such. Crafting and even try different weapons on a boss would be cool to for testing. Imagine you pick a weapon in the menu and just enter a boss-stage. Perhaps unlimited supplies outside for crafting, just to try it out. Have a boss which spawns lesser enemies. That kind of test would involve 2 rooms, 1 boss, 1 lesser demon, and the crafting feature. That kind of demo would perhaps be smaller in size and easier to do, IF they already have this kind of boss in the game, and the crafting feature up and running. The thing is E3 demo is ready, no extra work for them other than distributing it to backers. Regarding the "crafting" demo, I think it is really interesting.

It's really hard to picture out what kind of genre IGA could be talking about when he says that he wants to do a game that wouldn't sell. But here are what i would love to see him doing: Role-playing game
That much is a given. Igavania games have roleplaying elements, such as leveling, exp, backtracking and such. I would love to see IGA doing a JRPG in the most classic sense of the world, with colorful characters in stylish clothing, over absurd and over complicated storylines that spins around the destiny of the world, complex level system with a simple, yet interesting battle and such. Dating / Life Simulation
IGA made Tokimeki Memorial. I never played that one, but i played dating simulations before and nowadays they are way better than they was in the past. You have things such as Sonicomi for instance, where the ecchi and sexy elements blend together with the plot, giving the player 18 different endings. I'm sure IGA has enough criativity to pull out a interesting dating / life simulation using gothic and dark elements that he love so much. Fightning game / Beat'em'up
As 緋月エリ said, given the right engine and circunstances, a fightning game with IGA characters, maybe after a Bloodstained 2 or something, would be awesome. My thought exactly. castlevania has many RPG elements and Iga made Tokimeki Memorial.

I think sotn is a good game at the same time it is overrated You have to keep in mind it got released 1997. It was really revolutionary for that time and seeing as how it holds up and has aged so well even today (bar the original English voice acting) I completely agree with this. But still, SOTN is not the best castlevania I have played but I admit it has the highest popularity.

The challenge itself is the reward You can look at it that way if you want but if we go by this philosophy then there's no need for rewards for anything. The bigger point am trying to get to is while Lament of Innocence is probably my favorite PS2 game and one of my favorite Castlevania games it had room for more content. Your analogy is flawed. Boss rush is not the main game, it is an extra mode for players who enjoy it. I always clear it a few times for the reward then forget about it.

This might be kind of obvious, but I hope there are some good incentives for doing Boss Rush Mode. As much as I like Lament of Innocence, I have to admint tha it did kind of suck Boss Rush didn't have any reward in that game. The challenge itself is the reward

I like the concept of 3 states Miriam. However, I would like to have the ability to switch to any version of Miriam I want in game after a few playthroughs, going through new game+ to switch to other states is too tedious.

Galamoth I don't care about the Alpha. Its the update itself that people are unhappy about. Let's not blow this out of proportion there's plenty of people happy about it too. I think my original post summed it up in as fair a way as you can get. The update IS for a specific group of people, and hey maybe that specific group is a LARGE amount of people. That's great it's just a bummer for those that it's not. Those people just like the ones that love the update were getting hyped over the prospect of the update too. That's why managing expectations is so important. You allow yourself to get too hyped and you might get a rug pulled out from under you at no fault but your own. At the same time, plenty of people are not happy about it. The fact that they have a working E3 demo but refuse to release to backer. After 3 months, they haven't say a word about alpha, no ETA given. I strongly believe when there is no ETA then there is no commitment. I think I have enough reason to worry about the state of the game and my confidence in IGA is decreasing day by day. Managing expectation is important, it goes both way. I think my expectation to get an demo which is already available or an update on the alpha is totally reasonable. On the other hand, the dev refuse to release the demo and keep quiet about the alpha for 3 months is unacceptable, they need to have a higher standard.

It's understandable that people would still be upset about a rumor. Whether or not Mana Ikeda herself mentioned it once or twice, she didn't mention it whilst translating for IGA, and an "Alpha" release has never been officially discussed or announced to backers. If we're going to get an Alpha, we'd need word from Angel-Corlux or IGA himself first (if not anyone else at 505 or Artplay). Redogan We still don't know if they're going to show up at TGS, for one thing. That particular event might be a good time to show some gameplay. Okay look I get the argument that, "Well it was never officially stated in an update".... but to some if it's put out their in interviews by people in the team or IGA himself that is official. Angel pretty much confirmed that they are working out details on it. It's a real thing, there's no fake aspect about this unless they changed their mind on it but all the more better to mention that. Was that comment spoken about too early? Was it an accident to let it slip early? Maybe, but even then it was never requested to be taken out of either article as far as I'm aware. The point is people pay attention and they get curious. Don't blame the person who happens to see an interview from people working on the game and they choose to believe what was said. However, my issue isn't with the lack of mention on the alpha/beta/or what have you. It's that this update is clearly for a very specific audience. Not everyone knows japanese let alone japanese voice actors. The people that do are excited and sweet, I'm happy for them. Had this been an update with both the American voice actors and Japanese actors maybe some of the negative comments wouldn't be here. The build to this update is what builds the anticipation and we all thought it was coming sooner originally, so when it felt like it was pushed back the perception was an update about a variety of topics. It wasn't though. It covered one and teased a new character and basically threw out another "soon". Had that mysterious man been revealed with a blurb about his character in this update, maybe a few of those negative people might be more positive. Why? because it'd be something for a bigger audience of fans. It was a long wait for a perceived meaty update that ended up being something angled at a specific group of fans. This is not to the fault of the dev team, not to the fault of anyone working on the game. It's just the downsides of passionate fans in a kickstarter campaign. People have different things they care about, different things they want to learn more about, and they interpret things people say differently. In other words people are bound to be disappointed if they hover around the project as closely as some of us do. I think i'll probably stop posting here until something major happens, I love the people on this site, I love the people working on this game, Mana, Angel, everyone is awesome. I just know me and I get obsessive and excited about things and my hype always lets me down. I know one thing, the game won't let me down but i'll have to wait until then. Alright, I get it. It's that this update is clearly for a very specific audience, if you are not part of that specific audience then this is not an update for you, thanks for the clarification. People have different things they care about, but I am sure everyone cares about the demo/alpha.

reminds me of... www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=soonSoon As defined by Blizzard Entertainment: "Soon" does not imply any particular date, time, decade, century, or millennia in the past, present, and certainly not the future. "Soon" shall make no contract or warranty between Blizzard Entertainment and the end user. "Soon" will arrive some day, Blizzard does guarantee that "soon" will be here before the end of time. Maybe. Do not make plans based on "soon" as Blizzard will not be liable for any misuse, use, or even casual glancing at "soon."Blizzard is a joke Jay Wilson : Fxxx that loser Bashiok: Aren't you thankful Anything else?

Dialogue is fine but I against QTE
I hate QTE and I will never buy any game with QTE.
Press some buttons on screen or die? That's lazy and stupid, when I am watching a cut scene, I want to pay attention to the cut scene itself, QTE take that away because I need to pay attention to the random button pop up on screen. When you failed you have to start over and over again, this is tedious
