Personally, I can't stand cheats. Reverting to cheats to beat a game reflects the weakness of the player.

Well, why buy if you can nick things? I mean, let's say Dominique is in charge of the shop at the time and so I decide to pinch an item and scarper out of the shop (remember Link in Zelda: Link's Awakening). The thought of going back into the shop afterwards and seeing a hugely annoyed Dominique waiting for me gets the pulse racing

I've voted No.
Anne does remind me of Maria. Knowing that she was saved by Dominique and Miriam leans to the fact that she's a really vulnerable little mouse whatever natural powers/secret items she may have. In my eyes, she's a weakling who's seems destined to meet a premature end whichever path she might take. I don't see her as a playable character because she just doesn't stand out as someone with the athleticism, experience, stamina and necessary skills to navigate such a massive castle with so many formidable enemies lying in wait.

I voted for No.
Alfred looks like a watered-down, grizzled version of Dracula with an ulterior motive but with dementia setting in. A wild card. He does appear like an enemy waiting to happen should his personal demons get the better of him and gives the impression he has one big, last hurrah left in his locker.

Hell yes! I'd sooooo lurve her to be a playable character! However, to be realistic, I envisage this only being in Bloodstained 2. Dominique has huge potential as a full leveling playable character and it'd be a shame if she was rushed into Bloodstained 1 at this point. My advice would be to keep her as a non-playable character (only as the shopkeeper) as things stand. That way, it provides us with food for thought for the Bloodstained sequel. I adore Dominique's design ... she reminds me of a Magician's assistant but with more style. I do concur with crocodile that her heels look a bit over-the-top though (like those ballet heels that Lady Gaga wears) which simply wouldn't be practical in physical combat. That said, Dominique looks like a real high-kicker with those long, silky legs! She should wear power shoes with retracting stiletto spikes. Patience is a virtue with Dominique because she has created quite a stir in a very short amount of time. What fascinates me most about her is that, judging by her description, she could fit into the Maleficent mould as far as power and beauty is concerned. A woman who can also be both good and evil and dish out an obscene amount of magic and technique that only a top flight sorceress could. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

love links awakening, it definitely stands up there with oot lttp and z1 Me too! I fondly remember playing this mini-masterpiece on the Gameboy and I was truly blown away by the way it immersed me into the engaging storyline and smooth-as-silk gameplay. The catchy music added extra zest to the eardrums. Discovering and fighting one's way through each Dungeon was both profound and rewarding in equal measure. I never wanted this glorious adventure to end. It took me just over a month to complete and I was left stunned by the whole experience. Thing is though, soon afterwards, I slumped into something I like to call 'gamedrop' ... which is like a sudden descent into a gloomy mindset after having such a gaming high. It's certainly not depression but it does leave one feeling kinda miserable. Has anyone else felt this after playing a game you've really enjoyed?

Each save room is cursed by Satan himself. Exceed 666 saves in each room and a stark warning becomes etched in stone with the words "SATAN WILL CLAIM YOUR SOUL"...

Logically speaking, you can't really have Miriam kicking down any wall. I mean, what kind of weak castle would that be? Kicking in a weak wall with cracks in would be fine. A wall more dense and harder would surely require some heavy metal objects/weapons ... or ... something similar to Liu Kang's flying kick

Vepar could be a memorable boss should it return later in the game. Looking at the vivid colours and body design, this boss has the potential to alter its skin pigments and texture reminiscent to that of the Mimic Octopus. As a result, it could also make the shard more interesting too.

Well, Miriam being revealed as the villain is very close in spirit to how Soma Cruz was in Dawn of Sorrow ... that he acquired the souls of all he killed and was, in fact, Dracula in waiting. There's a thin red line to it all

Maybe in one silly alternate ending, it will turn out to be Miriam who was the villain this whole time. Maybe she got afflicted with the Curse on-purpose. Maybe... Actually, that isn't as silly as it sounds ... more like a sinister twist hiding a killer sting. Just think, in Bloodstained 2 ... Miriam as the primary Boss? Bring it on!

I'm generally pleased with the current update. As previously mentioned, certain shadowing needs to be amended but, other than that, it all looks pretty encouraging. I've added an arrow to a screenshot which is pointing to, what I hope will be, a secret area
