We're in a dearth of video game Kickstarters right now (I guess that's sort of normal with the holidays approaching). For example, I follow a couple other backers who usually have 5-10 active KS they're backing at any moment... they both have one. And it's this one -- Legrand Legacy. It's about to enter 48 hours left, with a pretty big gap left.... check it out if it's your type of game!

We're under the 48 hour mark, and at 75%... it could happen. They've jumped 25% in the last few days.
I've backed it at a pretty high level, but I'll admit I'm a bit nervous. They haven't been too active in posting, which isn't a good sign. But then again, I've seen obnoxiously posting campaigns go dead silent afterward, so who knows? (: Either way, it's going to be a close one!

Quarter of the way in a week? That's not bad progress Except that most Kickstarters enter a "dead period" in the middle, in which they make very little progress. This one is currently in a similar situation. I would have felt a lot better if they were at 50%+ by now. They'll need to be a LOT more active than they currently are if they want to hit 100% in the next 3 weeks.

I've got extra codes available for Jotun and the Stanley Parable on Steam.
I'm open to code trades or other offers.

You're a little late it was released in 1992, its a great game. The only problem with it is that if you fuck up JUST ONCE at any point during the game then you wont have the power curve needed to complete the last level - it's brutal that way. That kinda reminds me of the brutality (in a different way) of early games... in particular, Kings Quest II. OMG. Those stupid doors and that stupid bridge, that if you walked unnecessarily over it ONE extra time, it would break and you'd tumble to your death. But typically you didn't figure that out until WELL LATE in the game. UGH. Anyway, I backed this Agony. I'm a sucker for it, apparently.

I got volume 1 a few months ago. Wow, what a story. Sort of like Dungeon Master meets mid-life meets trailer park.
Anyway, volume 2 is now on kickstarter! Check it out!

Not a problem! I'm also using FL Studio, but the packages that I am using for choirs are Vienna studio's choirs (which is what I made the original track with, but limited to 'ah' sounds). I picked up EastWest Choirs, which allows for syllabification. Unfortunately, work has gotten really time-consuming (for the last year), and my spare time to finish this one off has been very minimal. EW Choir stuff was clearly more flexible, but definitely lower quality sounds than Vienna. But Vienna is just so expensive for so few things... kinda frustrating. As far as I know, there's no real good free choir 'instruments' other than the normal basic amorphous sounds. Ah. I see. I will look into EastWest Choirs. On a totally unrelated note, would you happen to know how to make an instrument 'fade in and out'? I know that you can sort of do this by manually manipulating the volume, and that you can make the initial play of the note quite by lowering the velocity, but I can't seem to find any fade option. The instrument I wanted to fade was a violin part, but violins are one of those MIDI instruments that will just play the note at the same volume for no matter how long you sustain it so. Ahahahaha. Yep, you can create an automation clip. Go to the mixing board and right click the volume knob of the channel that has the violin part. Then look for something like "create an automation clip" (or similar). That should create a "pattern" on the play list where you put all your patterns. It should have a line on it that represents the volume. Then just put that automation clip where you want to change the volume of the violin part. Then play with th line to change the volume at the right time (you can make slopes, insert set points, do lots of things -- basically it'll let you tweak the volume to what you want). Hope that helps... lemme know if you're having any problems with it. By the way, you can automate just about any knob that way!

Thanks! I've got a software package coming in (hopefully this weekend) that lets you make choral sounds with words (other than "ahh"). And I have a text that 1) miraculously fits what I've already written, and 2) works with the Bloodstained story. So we'll see how it turns out. Every castle's got to have a chapel, right? (: That seems like the perfect place for a bell tower... and plenty of stained glass windows. This was a very long time ago, so maybe it's rude to ask, but might I inquire what software package you're talking about? I currently use FL studio, and there are very...limited choir options, which is essential for an intense atmosphere. Not a problem! I'm also using FL Studio, but the packages that I am using for choirs are Vienna studio's choirs (which is what I made the original track with, but limited to 'ah' sounds). I picked up EastWest Choirs, which allows for syllabification. It's not a Kickstarter, but David Bull has done a Kickstarter previously (to set up a woodblock shop in Asakusa -- he recarved the Great Wave for that one).
Now he's appealing to Studio Ghibli with the idea of bringing their creations to life in woodblock prints. He's gotten no response from the Studio, so he's appealing to people to state their support, or for people who know people, etc to pass on the word.
Check it out if you love woodblock prints and/or Studio Ghibli!

For those that follow Penny Arcade, their Thornwatch world (the Lookouts, Daughters of Eyrewood, etc) has come to card game form.
Check out the Kickstarter, if that's your thing...

Well, at least for an unpublished short story...
I suppose it could always lead to something longer lasting. One can hope, at least.

So... I've had a little over a month w/ the "game." Given the crap that's happened over the last few weeks, it certainly still feels like a beta. I also have to wonder what sort of testing they do, when such simple things go bad... right now, there's some sort of bug where my first pokeball throw just flies right off the screen. Awesome.
In any case, I'm level 22 and have seen around 75 pokemon, just from daily back and forth to work (and hatching eggs).
The program is really shallow as a game -- not a lot to do, and the mechanics get dull fast. Really its only long-lasting quality seems to be an aid in exploration (and there are many other ways to do such things).
The blocking of the 3rd party trackers didn't really affect me, because again, I just use it when walking to and from work -- I'm not trying to actively chase down any pokemon.
It has been interesting, though, to see the 'rarity' of various pokemon. I only caught my first pikachu about a week ago, and my first diglett a couple days ago.
I have to imagine that the novelty has worn off at this point, though... would be curious what the usage numbers look like now.
