People will think what they want to think. If some folks even here will continue to believe that this change has been done in order to self censor the game and avoid "controversy", so be it. If official declarations from the community manager, who ENSURES that this was NOT done for censorship reasons, are not enough to reassure you guys, then nothing will, so think whatever you like. As if some boobs in a 2.5 D in a project that is still somewhat small in the modern industry of AAA games would be enough to spark any significant controversy worth self censorship, anyway. The very definition of the community managers job is to never say anything negative about the game and to create positive press as well as neutralize conflicts, I'm not calling any of the spokesmen liars, what they do is important and demanding. But I'm not going to depend on them for telling me all the bad news about the game either. I can understand that, but if there's any sort of trust between us and Angel I don't find his declaration difficult to believe. As you also said, in the early stages of development there are many drafts which get slightly modified or redesigned entirely all the time. It is fine if someone liked the previous design for Vepar, but why seems to be necessary to claim that the redesign is being done to avoid controversy just because boobs are involved? Why can't it be that the designers just decided to modify the design in order to better fit the creator vision, instead of compromising it? If we saw a different version of a random enemy or boss, everyone would assume that they changed it as it is normal during production, but since the redesign in question happens to shrink some boobs it's suddenly an awful compromise of IGA's vision. I don't accept that. I accept that someone is unhappy with the redesign (even if personally I prefer the new one 100 to 1), but I don't like this mindset.

This should be fun, even if for a lot of this questions I will probably change my mind soon lol
01. Favorite game Without a doubt, Doom 2: Hell on Earth. Doom is an undeniable classic and one of the most important games ever made, the second adds monsters and the super shotgun and the formula is just timeless. I've replayed it more than any other game and if we count all the possible mods and WADs I've easily surpassed thousand of hours of playtime.
02. Worst game If I know that a game is really bad, I'll probably never play it. That said, though, among those I've played I'd probably say The 3rd Birthday. It's a mess of a plot, a mess of a TPS with boring bullet sponge enemies to the extreme. It's like playing solo a game that was specifically designed for 4 players. Atrocious, and the most frustrating thing is the utterly immense wasted potential the game has.
03. On the wish list Quite a lot of games, but if I have to choose I'd say the new God of War, Detroit, Spyro Reignited Trilogy and the Medievil Remake.
04. Worst franchise There are many franchise I don't like for different reasons, so I'll refrain from answering.
05. Most disappointing sequel There are probably a few, but without thinking too much I'd say Dark Souls 2 and Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs. The difference is that the first is a decent game that is crushed by the greatness of the series it belongs to, while the second is a complete abomination that should not exist.
06. Favorite console Aside from PC, I'd say either the PS2 or the GBA (specifically the SP version).
07. Favorite protagonist I don't have a clear favorite. My favorites would be Neku Sakuraba from The World Ends With You, Solid Snake from MGS, Guybrush Threepwood from Monkey Island and Manny Calavera from Grim Fandango.
08. Worst protagonist Max and Chloe from Life is Strange. I like the game but god I hate those two sometimes. Chloe in particular, I would have liked to leave her on the train tracks.
09. First console I occasionally played on PC, PSX or the GameBoy with my brother, but the first console I had on my own was a GameBoy Color.
10. Guilty pleasure game Castlevania: Curse of Darkness. It's not seen as a particularly good game but it's one of my favorite ever.
11. Latest game purchase Ace Attorney: Spirit of Justice
12. Favorite genre Metroidvanias, old school FPSs, 2D platforms.
13. Saddest scene There are a lot, but recently I was deeply upset by the ending to A Way Out.
14. Favourite antagonist Dracula from Castlevania or Liquid from MGS.
15. Worst antagonist The type of antagonists that show up suddenly after what you thought was the final boss. The whole game mister X is hyped as the biggest antagonist, but then at the last minute you discover there was a greater evil. Final Fantasy games are particularly guilty of this on multiple occasion, and it's something I hate.
16. What are you playing now? Ace Attorney: Dual Destinies, Odin Sphere Leifthrasir and Crash 2 Remake.
17. Favorite franchise Castlevania is the absolute favorite, but there are many others I love.
18. Best soundtrack Too hard for me to decide this. Probably Castlevania: Curse of Darkness, but there are so many great composers that it's difficult to choose. I'd say it could be anything from Michiru Yamane, Keichi Okabe or Shoji Meguro.
19. Worst soundtrack There are too many games with mediocre of forgettable soundtracks.
20. First game I honestly can't remember.
21. Hardest game The hardest thing I've ever done in a videogame until now is probably completing Super Meat Boy 100%.
22. Best developers I love a lot of indie developers. Among the "bigger" ones, I'd say my favorites are Atlus, Vanillaware, From Software and id Software.
23. Favorite couple I'd have to think about this more, but I'd say Neku/Shiki from The World Ends With You.
24. Worst couple I have no clue.
25. Most valuble games An original copy of Symphony of the Night. I mostly buy and play digital games so I don't have a lot of really valuable possessions.
27. Best voice acting Recently I've loved the english dub for Persona 5 and A Way Out, but especially the one for Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice. That deserved an Oscar or something.
28. Most underrated games The PS2 Castlevanias, and also the Gargoyle's Quest games.
29. Most annoying character Chloe from Life is Strange.
30. Worst console Probably the WiiU for me.
31. Most played game Doom 2: Hell on Earth.

Elfina Ashfield: well, the fact that it talks doesn't necessarily mean a boss is humanoid Elfina Ashfield I believe the humanoid bosses are kinda mandatory due to the Boss Revenge Mode. That mode kinda forced them to create bosses capable of being controlled by the player, in order to fill in the Boss Revenge Mode, since i'm sure we will not be able to play, let's say, with Vepar on such mode. I hope they didn't specifically go out of their way and modify what they had in mind in order to accommodate a novelty timesink mode. I'm very happy about the project and lukewarm to all possible controversies that have arisen until now, but THIS is something I'd be really pissed off about.

Awesome doom metal from Italy. Traditional doom with incredible female vocals and touches of drone, dark ambient and jazz.

I surely hope there is something (items, gear, etc.) exclusive to NG+. Aria of Sorrow did this nicely, even if said items were a bit limited (Death's Robe/Death's Sickle and Kaiser Knuckle if I remember correctly), and Dawn of Sorrow required you to play through NG+ if you wanted to acquire the most powerful soul fusion weapons while attaining 100% soul completion.

Do I have a right to be excited for the options to either hide or show what Miriam is currently wearing as a new thing or has it been announced a while ago and I just wasn't paying attention? lol
Good for the mining though, I hope to farm enough cryptocurrency to buy a new GPU now that miners inflated the prices so much

I bought vinyls for CV2 and CV3 today, they were pretty cheap on Amazon.it for some reason. If I find them at a reasonable price (by that I mean not paying ungodly shipment expenses to Italy) I'd like to get the vinyls for CV1 and SCV4 too.
The one complaint I have with the Mondo vinyls is the art style. I would have preferred the original covers and such, these versions have a very "cheap" comic book aesthetic to me. SCV4's front artwork is especially horrible (IMO, of course), it almost looks amateurish.

Cool thread! Here are my answers:
1) Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night actually needs a quest system? Do you believe a quest system is something that adds more depth and replay value to the game or may be something distracting and not very useful?
Maybe it doesn't NEED it, I mean we've had plenty of IGAvanias without it, but I for one love these kind of systems in my adventure games. It makes me think I've got something tangible to do other than progress the main story. Of course it depend on the quest, but fundamentally yes, I think it's a very beneficial thing to have.
2) What character / characters do you believe will offer quests for Miriam to finish?
Probably multiple characters. Johannes and Dominique I think are a given, but that may be others.
3) What kinds of quests do think the game will have, or would you like the game to have?
Fetch quests and "go kill X" are fine, but I'd prefer something a little bit more creative. Like investigating an area in a peculiar way to access a secret section. My dream is to have some kind of tag-team mission with an AI controlled character such as "Team up with Dominique to defeat the vampire/monster/thing that hid in the castle to elude the church", that would be so awesome and bring something very new to the table.
4) What kinds of prizes do you expect the quests to offer? Rare or exclusive materials? Gear? Shards?
Probably a mix of materials, gold and gear, but I don't think shards will be prizes as Miriam is the only good character we've seen (SO FAR) that can manipulate them, so I don't know how someone could give you a shard.
Another interesting reward would be some optional areas, enemies or bosses, or gaining access to secret rooms.
5) What do you think about continuous or unlimited quests? This exist in some MMORPGs. Some kind of quest that can be repeated infinitely, and you can receive the same reward again and again.
I don't like the concept. The only repeatable things would be fetch quests or "kill X" quests in my book, and I think those are repetitive enough even if you don't do them over and over. Unique quests please.
6) Would you like if the game had some kind of quest that is mandatory to progress? Or maybe some quest that, if you don't do, you don't get the full castle / ending / true final boss?
It could be fine as long as it's not missable/timed or anything. Nothing worse than having you progress cut short because you missed something essential. That's archaic game design. If they're not timed, I don't see the problem. If you think about it, many games actually have "disguised" mandatory subquests to advance the plot, only that they're called objectives and such. Anyway, if they are integral to the plot, they need to be very carefully written and implemented to have the best effect.
7) Would you like if the second and third character's modes also had quests to complete?
I would like the bonus characters to have their own campaigns, even if they're short. Short unique campaign >>>>>> replaying the entire game with a different character IMO. If that's not the case, then at least unique side quests could make the replaying feel less repetitive and more peculiar to each character.
8) Portrait of Ruin had 37 quests. Order of Ecclesia had 36 quests. How many quests do you expect and/or want Bloodstained to have?
Probably around 40 quests to accommodate for Bloodstained's size, but i'd be very fine with just 20 unique, semi complex quests, cutting the very simple/grindy ones to a minimum.

I haven't even finished reading the update yet, but I wanna say this for now:
F*CK YES FUTABAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Edit: ok, I finished reading the whole thing. I know some people are going to be extremely disappointed about the actual release date which was discussed just barely more specifically than other times, but that's to be expected considering how many news sites bombarded the Internet with "OMG RELEASE DATE IN THE NEXT UPDATE!!111!11!1!1!". I understand wanting to get clicks and views, but come on.
That aside, June 2018 is the month! I didn't expect the proper Beta yet, I'm really happy about this update.
The video was also extremely nice. I love those extras.

I wouldn't want useless shards. I would be fine with shards having a niche secret use (like the Galamoth soul in Aria of Sorrow which was used just in a specific place, or the Killer Mantle soul which was basically only there to kill the Iron Golem), but please keep the useless stuff to a minimum. We'll have a great quantity of powers, but if quality isn't king then it's kinda pointless.

I prefer as little palette swap as possible. It has been in other games of the series, but sometimes they kinda went overboard with it (Circle of the Moon, which isn't an IGAvania to be fair, had like fifty bazillion armors and skeletons, it changed the sprites a little bit but come on man there were way too many lol; Harmony had to an extent the same problem), so I'd like for them to keep the whole thing to a minimum.

Unfortunately, it gets worse. Especially in the last third of the game. The ending is nice at least. Well shit. Thanks I guess, at least my expectations are going to be lower now. To be fair, I don't really know hoe the PC version integrates the various DLC and patches they implemented eventually, but the vanilla game was full of holes. Not that filling some (not nearly all) of those holes by playing random DLCs is much better. This game's politics (incomplete story, then DLCs, other DLCs and maybe next year some more DLCs, pretty much all of them paid) is just horrendous. Too bad, because it HAS some good elements. The alchemy between the main party is good IMO and it makes the ending a lot better. Too bad that pretty much everything else in the writing department is a trainwreck.

Final Fantasy XV on Steam. I'm on Chapter 4 now, and it's being a disappointment so far, especially after the Trails in the Sky Trilogy. Dull side quests, boring characters, NPCs, interactions and a bland open world... I just hope it gets better really. Unfortunately, it gets worse. Especially in the last third of the game. The ending is nice at least.

Redogan avoid cooking if so. She needs food. We all do. What does that mean? lol I repeat I haven't seen the animation in question yet, but it's fair to me to be a little perplexed if a girl in a demonic castle full of malevolent beings threw a dance everytime she has a meal haha everyone needs food, but not everyone would get crazy over it, especially not in a dangerous environment.

1) Vepar's new look has smaller and less "bouncing" breasts. What do you think of that?
I like that. Those massive breasts weren't so upsetting to me that they absolutely needed to be tweaked, but this way it's more serious and proportionate, I like it way more. I don't know about the "bounciness" as I haven't seen a video, but I hope they are still somewhat animated. No need for exaggeration, but a little bit would help make them feel organic and not some kind of stiff prosthesis. Btw, they also look sexier to me now.
2) Did you liked Vepar's darker look?
Absolutely, so much more than the old one. The more serious and menacing the setting and enemies are, the better.
3) What do you think Vepar's shard will be? The Shards on her body changed from Red (Trigger?) to Blue (Effective?) if that's any indication, although Shards colors and enemie's colors doesn't have that link in the game...
I have no idea.
---
1) What do you think of the feature of increasing Miriam's parameters by using a new cooking item for the first time?
It's nice! Reminds me of Odin Sphere, I also like that the bonuses only apply to the first use.
2) Miriam's animation while cooking is cute / kawaii japanese style. That kinds gives her a carefree vibe. Do you like that or do you think it doesn't fit due to the game's darker nature?
I haven't seen the animation in question, but I'd prefer to have as little cutesy moments/items/situations/whatever as possible. They don't significantly bother me so I won't complain if there are, but I'd prefer they're limited. Yes, I know that in every other IGAvania we had those moments, and so? I would have still preferred them not to be there most of the time, but as I said it's not something that bothers me that much so I'm fine either way. At least these instances are not as jarring as the Dream Eaters in Kingdom Hearts DDD, those are really unfitting abominations that should have never existed.
3) IGA said during the interview that the game will have some subtle signs on where the "natural flow" of it will go and that if you get lost you may overpower yourself a bit by leveling. It seems that alone was a reason to make the game a bit harder than those of the past. Considering that and considering food give permanent bonuses by cooking and using it for the first time, do you believe the game may end up being too easy?
Just as the game is balanced around you using the shards, it may be balanced around you using the cooking system and relative buffs. It should be fine if given enough attention, so the game won't be too easy. Should it be that the cooking buffs somehow break the game heh, I won't use it until the end for completionism. I would prefer balancing over forcing myself not to use basic gameplay systems that aren't hidden, but part of the core experience.
---
1) Do you believe Buer's old Shard will be fit in some other enemy or is gone for good?
It probably will be somewhere else.
2) IGA said in the past that the game will have a good number of familiars, but it will not be a ton of them, probably to better develop each one. For now, we have 3: Armor (placeholder name, winner at fan voting on Kickstarter), Dullahammer Head and Buer. We have no idea how Armor will behave, Dullahammer Head is a flying one that attacks anything while Buer must be somehow "stimulated" to really do something. How many familiars do you expect, and also, you expect other gimmicks like Buer?
I'd prefer a few familiar that are as complex as Curse of Darkness's Innocent Devils but unfortunately that doesn't seem to be the case. I at least hope they are customizable in their behavior, and I would expect maybe a dozen of them?
