Something people need to understand is that EVERY game has lots and LOTS of cut content. There is no magical way to predict how long a large project like a game will take. All one can do is starting working on several ideas and once you get an idea of how long it takes to create sections of your game then you can predict a launch window. Setting a deadline lets you judge what content ideas would take too long to implement and therefore needs to be cut.
I strongly doubt there was any cut content for the secret sorcery laboratory. The whole idea behind the location is that its a hidden lab away from the castle. It makes sense nothing connects to it. Its a hidden base in the middle of nowhere.

Most people seem to be enjoying the game. Theres a few people who are outraged who seem to post in multiple places but for the most part people are enjoying Bloodstained.
All i can say is that funding kickstarter is a risk since there isn't even a guarantee that the project will be successful in the end. Its a bit like buying a lottery ticket. If you can't except the risk then kickstarter is not for you.
I found this project to be one of the most transparent and response kickstarter projects to date. The fact that they responded to criticism of the early graphics and updated them is pretty amazing.
I know your upset with issues you've personally had but frankly no game launch is perfectly delivered. Arguing with satisfied fans isn't going to help you any either besides venting your frustration. And to be frank, getting the game a few weeks late is not a big deal. We've waited several years already, its not a big deal to have to wait a few more weeks. Does it suck? Yes. Does it ruin the game, no. Not even close.
I don't see any ethical violations committed here. They've had some issues shipping some copies on time. Hardly an ethics scandal and certainly nothing worth legal actions. There is no guarantee of getting a physical copy of the game by launch day.

The same with me. I'm most excited about playing an Igavania game in a portable version after about a decade since the last one. Sorry, but other games just don't compare (not that theres much to choose from in the first place).

Eh, that just seems excessive. Opinions can be criticized. Its not the end of the world. Nor the end of the discussion.
I suppose I fear excessive negativity since reading the reactions to the E3 videos has a lot of negativity that seems to condemn the game before it even comes out. Lots of people picking out ever flaw in the graphics of a game in a genre where graphics have not been its selling point. I'm much more interested in the gameplay and crafting since those are the systems that determine how much I enjoy Igavanias.
As for the whole question of how much effect the least powerful system has on the development of the game, for a game like bloodstained I'm not too worried. This isn't exactly the top end of graphics. Also, how this problem is handled is different depending on the developer. You can remove graphical features on less powerful consoles while having all features present on the most powerful console. So its not necessarily true that having a weaker console as part of the development will lower the graphical quality of a game. Also, often different consoles will be assigned their own dev team so the number of consoles being developed for does not necessarily mean an increase in production time. However, the number of consoles a game comes out for does translate into increased costs of production.

I don't mean this in any way to be rude, but I find the OP a bit ridiculous. I'd have been happy with CotM graphics. The game looks amazing. Sure, theres plenty of room for improvement but the game is still in development. Frankly, I'm shocked this game is even being made. I had given up on ever seeing another Igavania game ever. I'm still in awe that this game is even being made, let alone looking as good as it does in the recen E3 footage. If you don't wish to be rude, it would help not to call the person you're addressing "ridiculous." Agree or disagree with the argument. Please stop literally ridiculing the person posting. I can call a post or topic ridiculous without insulting the person. That is why I said its not my intention to be rude. I was making it clear I thought the OP topic was ridiculous, not the person who posted. This being the Internet, I have to bluntly state my intent so as to avoid misunderstandings. Sorry for any confused I caused. gunlord500 is right, I should have just avoid using Ridiculous in the first place. I should have just said I think its a bit nitpicky to be disappointed over aspects of graphical quality for a type of game I thought was extinct just a few years ago.

I got distracted by preparing for the wedding of a cousin of mine so I haven't check out the site in a while. WOW, these are some awesome videos from E3. Bloodless is an awesome boss but who came up with her name? lol I think it would be awesome if she was playable during the boss revenge mode. Oh, and I read what you write Pure Miriam.

I'm so happy there will be a village. I sure hope we get lots of villager quests like in OoE. Maybe we will have to rescue the villagers from within the castle.
I think CotM looks better than Harmony of Dissonance. HoD has way too bright colors to the point that its rather jarring to look at. And I know because I just finish replaying both games.
Overall, I think this lightning issue isn't a big deal to me. I hardly notice such small details unless it impacts gameplay. I'll have to leave the discussion over lightning to everyone else since I didn't notice any problem when watching the video. But then, I usually don't notice things like this anyway.

Instead of all that text, you could have just written "It's about voluptuous lesbians in skimpy outfits that summon and fight demons". That seems a bit too harsh on the game. The characters are not lesbians (that was just fan speculation pre-release) and their outfits are far from the most skimpy I've seen in JRPGs. The gameplay looks quite fun and thats the point of the post. It does seem like anyone that enjoyed Curse of Darkness' gameplay would like this game as well.

Star Trek Starfleet Command III ... just felt like busting out a classic Ooh, that was such a good game. I prefer the more in depth Starfleet Command II but the whole series is great. We don't get games like that anymore.

The list is on super new titles of Igavania and metroidvania games. Those are the ones I ment about buying. The list can be found on the forum somewhere. The newest Metroivania game are the DS games which can be emulated. Of course, I support wanting to buy the games.

I just watched some video summaries of the series so I got the background info for this game. I was already aware of Nier because I watched a lets play of it from one of the youtubers I like to watch. If your going to play this game on the PS4 then your going to want to get a PRO. i.imgur.com/C9GqWZ0.gifDem particle effects.

Yeah, it feels very Platinum. I like the perspective changes (the game's camera changes it from 3D action to 2.5, and even top down - going from a DMC game to something like Contra, and lastly something like Contra III's top down levels). When all of the enemy bullets appear, it's your cue to start firing yourself... The controls will take some time to get used to for most, but I think the game has a lot of potential. From the status screen, it appears you'll be able to use a lot of different gear/customize your pod to do/have different things. It's essentially like a Gradius option that follows you around. The full game is suppose to be open worldish with 40-50 different weapons. Probably about 5 different weapon types with 10 weapons each. Sorry if I keep hyping about this demo but OMG. Its SO good. media.giphy.com/media/ntINuo4Iv7zy/giphy.gifApparently, the androids in this game can magnetically control their weapons. So what 2B is doing here is jumping up into the air and then throwing her swords like boomrangs at the bots below. THATS SO COOL! lol It looks like 2017 is going to have a whole lot of badass female protagonists.

And the Soundtrack is very Ghost in the Shell. I know, its got a very cyber punk feel to the music and the whole game. It reminds me a bit of battle angel alita. That post-apocalyptic setting, kickass female android. i.imgur.com/bLO8366.gifLook at that! Damn, the combat is so smooth. lol

I'm actually playing Dracula X Chronicles right now. Rondo of Blood is funny in a fun way, it reminds me of arcade games as a kid. (of course, its old enough to be one of those) lol
The SotN redone translation is not that different. The original didn't actually get that much wrong. The hammy voice acting is gone but the new VA's do a good job. Its funny how many people love the hammy original voice acting. lol

I imagine they plan to do a lot of events. They need to get the word out about this game themselves since I doubt this game will have a large marketing budget.

Even if its $10 million at most, the game has to sell much more than that to be successful. Hence the rest of my point still stands. I don't expect this game to have sky high sells and I don't think the game can afford to port to a console that is not going to give an appropriate return on investment.
Edit: forget the number, I'm just using a vague guess as an example. Clearly, I don't know how much games cost to make.
Whatever the cost of the game, I don't expect this game to have more sells than previous Castlevania games and that means tough decisions need to be made. Such as if the Devs can really afford to port to a console that might not provide a profitable return on investment.
My point being, if the Devs believe it will be hurt them to stick to the Wii-U then they should move to the Switch and refund any backer that finds that unacceptable.
