Enkeria If they follow what older Igavanias usually did, i don't think Nightmare mode will be unlocked from the start. But considering the huge number of modes Bloodstained will have, maybe this time it will be different. I think Castlevania Igavanias are thrown out the window half-way. There are things that can and will change. And if the fans want nightmare difficulty to be available straight from start, along with "skip all dialogue" and a combo of silly cheatcodes, Its pretty safe to say that this IP can have a new standard, and new set of rules. Fans must speak up, if there is anything they request, feel or dislike. So I wouldn't think too much on the past, but I agree that patterns and guidelines can already be seen in this new IP, since it really is an Igavania.
Just.. Keep open mind.

Thank you for fixing Gebel the GOAT. The initial faces in general were pretty off. Then again, I fully expected and encouraged a delay for absolute quality assurance. Nightmare mode is going to be interesting, but knowing me I'll playthrough the normal difficulty a couple of times only. This is a guy that has yet to beat SOTN despite trying numerous times.(My most recent try, I've gotten farther than ever though) I'm somewhat surprised. I find that SOTN is one of the easiest ones to finish. Not comparing any Castlevania game here, but I found SotN to be medium to very hard at times when I played it the first 10 times back in the day.
This is why casual (easy) mode is so important. The most interesting part is however; can those that wants to, play Nightmare difficulty right from the start?

Dengojin Makes sense to have Dominique playable, a "pure magic / holy caster" character, with Zangetsu using close combat and with dark unholy energy when Miriam is a hybrid between the two.

Zangetsu really hate the Guild of Alchemists, he won't get near Alfred or Johannes.
Gebel is also straight up his nemesis. The mini bonus game; Curse of the Moon, is not canon.
Both Zangetsu, Dominique and Miriam all have objects that makes to appear fast when they move, things that drags on after them. This is the simple reason I believe those three are the playable ones.
3 "main" characters + some or all bosses in boss revenge mode is confirmed to be playable.

Installed it yesterday. It remembers my Steam process too, which is cool. I have it on both see.
Bug: English voices with Johannes can be a bit buggy, but changing to Japanese and back to English seemed to fix the issue. (Press during gameplay L1 + L2 + R1 + R2 to change language).

Pure MiriamBoth ghosts and ectoplasm have in history of Castlevania-type game been with a variation of colors, some have been for 2nd tier of enemies, being harder. Others with just same or similar skills but with different patterns. I think Amy is still a ghost, it's the alternative version. But it's true that Amy can be a more aggressive and bigger monster in nature now.

1. Could be an intro if so, but seems to be a secret and something for a game later on to take place at.
2. Seems more like a request then an idea. This can be changed during the course of the development. I made a comparison video how long text appears when she is leveled up however, and BLoodstained take a lot more frames to show this than Symphony of the Night and Portraits of Ruin for example.
3. Gebel playable is a maybe. I want Zangetsu and Dominique, since I believe their story can fit easier. It would feel very odd for Gebel to meet himself during the main game for example, since he "seems" to be the "big bad". And if he is a boss, you can still play him in Boss Revenge Mode.
When it comes to Zangetsu and Dominique, the story can just cut some of it, I mean Maria can handle the shop without Dominique, and Zangetsu could start at the Galleon Minerva too without issue, Miriam being in Coma. She can come back later in the same room we meet Zangetsu, and just have some other dialogue if even needed.
Miriam could also be a doppelganger all together and not the real deal when you play the other two.
My biggest reason also to think these two will be playable is because all three; Miriam, Zangetsu & Dominique all have 3 things that leaves a trail when they are moving. Miriam with a scarf, Zangetsu's cape / suit, and Dominique with long hair.

djtanng I believe it have been confirmed to have both of them.
But there is no mention of the chiptune / retro remixes and Inti Creates bonus game; Curse of the Night will appear on a disc at a later date, or MP3 download.

Greetings,
I just downloaded Bloodstained demo on GoG. It was a bit buggy to get a hand on it, but I tried the desktop version of GoG Galaxy and there was finally an install-button. Its totally blank when I just visit the site after I activated it from Fangamers.
I have Bloodstained on steam as well, but I understand that this version will be deleted, or updated once the game is out to reflect the latest demo if this is the route ArtPlay and 505 Games wish to take, so people can try before buy.
However, GoG version of the Demo. Is this replaced as well in the future, or stand-alone and can be stored eternal on a burned DVD if I want to, as a "shard of my gaming youth" when I become older? Or will the demo disappear or be replaced over at GoG, similar to Steam?
I enjoy the thought of having versions of a game, access to them whenever, this to learn more about the development, see the progress and compair once all versions is out.

Saw this above but please try to make costumes, equipment etc. show up in cut scenes, I don't know why but it really annoys me when games don't do this It just feels lazy. I don't know much about 3D animation or in game animation but I believe it isn't to difficult, I've only ever done 2D things, but I don't think it should be to challenging. It does show in cutscenes, if you have a funny-looking hat, its there..

While I am bummed for the VITA not getting Bloodstained. I was very close of selling the VITA. Main reason of even getting the console was to play Bloodstained on the go. While yes, I will get it on Switch, I have no use of it. A Switch is not within my budget, nor will it be in a close future.
Now. I will keep my Vita. Perhaps PS5 will allow me to play Vita games once that thing is out, and I will be getting the game for PS4 too, so with some luck, PS5 will taker PS4 games, physical ones.
And if all of this doesn't goes well. There is always the GOG + Steam version I will be getting too.
However, I feel its a bit sad. I was really looking forward to play Bloodstained on the PS Vita, but I understand why it can't be part of the library. I also feel the consoles today is very unstable. So many consoles are just left to continue with their new projects.
Just take a look at Wii and Wii U, now its Switch. It would take a good effort to make me buy a Switch, and make me believe it will be a go-to console for 20 years to come, if not more.
Maybe I am getting old? Maybe the value of consoles are dropping because of the insane technological evolution?
In any case. I am VERY pleased and happy that Bloodstained, both of them, are and will be released on PC. To me, PC isn't like a console where you have to throw it out the window when its old just to get the whole hardware so you can play the next game in the series.
No matter if PS Vita is soon discontinued when it comes to games, I really hope all future Bloodstained projects will be on PC at least, because when Bloodstained 2 is coming out, I don't think I want a Switch 2 or a Xbox XL X Pro or whatnot.

Yeah I remember these. But Amy changing into Ghost was always a thing I was confused by. See, there are two types of them. I always thought Ghost was one color and Amy another color. If this isn't the case. I think Ghost can be in many different shapes and color schemes. If they need other names, Spirits and Poltergeists are fine too. Lost Soul perhaps, but would be more suggestive theme for a flaming floating skull.. no ?

As for the difficulty, the game will have difficulty settings like easy, normal, hard, and nightmare. You can get all the challenge you need Agreed with the suggestions. A bitlate, but its okey. All suggestions are welcome.
Difficulty is casual and nightmare. Then you have the other modes which makes you re-think your gameplay (at least is suggest this on the paper).
Easy and hard difficulties are a questionmark for me, I do not know about these, link / source would be nice.
And we do not know if difficulties are something you can change before play, or if you need to finish the game first to get to the "next" difficulty.
In some cases these modes can also be locked behind secret rooms if they wish you to explore and unlock them as you go through the game. We do not know much about this at all.

In the menu, let us change sets. Up to 9 would be cool. 3 would be minimum if this feature would find its way into the game.
Also, I would suggest a way to actually compare each set with each other if there is less of them to double-check the stats before taking them. If you take a longer break, or am a person that are usually very confused, an overview help you save time before taking the set needed.
During some modes, I also would like to see the set being disabled.
Boss Rush for example, I would suggest you are locked with a set, until finished a few bosses, before you can change in between. Or if there is a random encounter, you have to take the set before entering the fight, and are locked during the fight.
Also, would set in general be able to be changed whenever, or excluded from boss fights?

Hello,
One simple remark, the save room on the ship and the town is exactly the same as in the castle. I can understand why but it feel weird to go from a derelict ship or a town in ruin to a nice cosy place. It's nothing that completly break the game, of course, but i think it could be a bit better to have a save room related to the place you are. I tried very hard to find some others things to say about this beta but i didn't want to go too far before the final release (damn that was hard to shutdown the game!!!) so i'll just say awesome work and keep it up!

exileOfc. I just wanna know if they will make sure the fans can help them before its in last minute and things are off. But like I have written before, updates in text would do, just so they get all the time needed. Hope they can fix anything post release in patches when people find groundbreaking exploits and glitches.
