I'd very much like it if she were a playable character. I think Croc had a great idea too: if we allow some assumptions and say Zangetsu will be playable, then having him be mainly melee while Dominique is mainly magic would be a good balance. Now, to the questions! 1. I'd like "Plot Driven" even if its just an intro and ending with dialogue. I think it'd be REALLY cool if they took a page from Julius mode in DoS and say, if one of the endings is where Miriam "goes bad" then maybe have Dominique's run be about her, as an exorcist, having to stop her "and itd be tragic since she's the one who asked for Miriam to be summoned. Just have an intro where she speaks to Johannes about Miriam giving in to her curse, then a pre-boss scene of her expressing sorrow about having to kill her. 2. I'd prefer full leveling. All the DS IGAvanias used it and i like having the "goal" of hitting level 99 available. Give her all of her moves at the start and just give stat boosts as you go. 3. As others have pointed out, her being an exorcist for the church is a prime way for her to have Castlevania-esque holy powers like vials of holy water and crosses along with holy spells, perhaps stuff like Holy Rain could be done via command inputs for huge amounts of mana? I will say I have no idea what to giver her for her basic attacks. Beating monsters to death with an enchanted bible? A holy sword with a cross in the hilt? Avoiding melee entirely via basic projectile spells or throwing weapons? Sounds like a good idea to me. Zangetsu would be the "Jonathan Morris" while Dominique is the "Charlotte Aulin". Zangetsu! Dominique! Zangetsu! Dominique!

Gotta say this was a wonderful update. Lemme break down my thoughts here: -I have to agree I LOVE the character designs. Dominique is a favorite, some combo I can only describe as "attractive gothic nun", Alfred gets a thumbs up purely for looking WAY to much like Dracula to be a coincidicne and Anne has this very cute yet elegant look to her. I also have to agree that if Miriam, Zangetsu and Dominique are our playables, that'd be dandy by me. -The "Ask IGA" had some great nuggets in it, with my favorite tidbit being the notion of wandering into areas you're clearly not ready for and probably getting stomped into mush. Its an indicator I like in level design: a sign that the devs trust the players are smart enough to realize they might be going the wrong way rather than funneling you with actual barriers. -I love that our members are getting some shoutouts for their work, such as our speedrunners and our level 99 dedication Also, one last thing about the "Ask IGA" is that I LOVE how they wove in several of Yamane's tracks into this awesome medly for the backdrop as opposed to using a single track. Please keep this! Overall, this made my day. Awesome!

I'm hoping its just a solid Classic-vania experience. Metroidvanias are great too, but I love the pre-IGA games just as much and IGA has shown via Adventure Rebirth he knows how to make the old formula work quite well.
So I expect a solid little 8-bit game with 6 levels and 8-bit music made just for it by our composers as-per the stretch goals. Just Miriam, her sword/whip, jumping and maybe a few basic spells. God I hope she has a bitchin pimp-walk. Its tradition!

Yes! They found a way to give us classic Harpies and Hellhounds! The more ways they find to slip in variations on classic Castlevania enemies in there the better! The interview was also a nice little watch, glad to hear Yamane-san is feeling so inspired!
The mention of "moving forward" with the Rewards has me both interested and happy for a couple reasons: 1) seeing something like, say, the official cover for the Art Book and/or Soundtrack could be cool, maybe revealing some of the in-game things like a few backer portraits/enemies/weapons is in the cards as well. 2) Its another subtle but nice anti-MN9 assurance, since that launch was notorious for Backers getting the incorrect rewards if they got anything at all, letting us know they are already moving forward to ensure we get them on time is a smart move.

I've been saying for AGES that Fire Emblem should be the logical follow up to Hyrule Warrios and they're actually bloody doing it, which is great. My only issue is that the various swords displayed were from the following characters: Chrom/Lucina, Corrin, Ryoma, Xander and Marth.
Obligatory Marth and 3DS characters. I'd have hopes for a more diverse lineup out of the gate considering how touchy the 3DS game are with longtime fans. I like them a lot, but PLENTY f FE fans consider the franchise to have died with New Mystery.
Now obviously with my avatar my desire for Ike is a given, but I just hope for other, older favorites too, like Sigurd, Leaf, Roy, Lyn, Hector, Ephraim etc.
In the end, FEW is just one game, and its the only thing the Switch has managed to pique my interest with. I need to see more. I keep hoping for backwards compatibility to be announced. I never got a Wii U since the console fell on its face and never gt back up, and it hurts my soul I cant play Bayonetta 2.

So here are my thoughts:

There's a few ways that seem *fairly* guaranteed: >Potions >Food (every IGA game has food, and plenty of anachronistic joke food too) >Save Points tend to give a full heal
Other ways I'd like to see: >A shard that grants a heal of some sort, be it a straightforward healing power or say, conjuring a Fairy familiar to passively heal you while she's out >I've seen many, including myself, request some kind of weapon or transformation shard that lets Miriam recover HP during active combat too, be it a liefesteal whip or some kind of Vampire/Succubus armor or transformation

Making the game as hard as OoE and CotM would be gravy for me. I dont think it will be, but as long as its not as easy as, say, Harmony of Dissonance I'll be fine.

Bloodstained looks beautiful, but its not, say, Witcher 3 levels of graphical powerhouse with a giant world. Pretty sure the Switch will work with Unreal 4 so it should be gravy.

Ultimately, doing stuff like this is extremely important given the condition of the gaming market and its relationship with the public. We've had so much controversy lately. I wont go into specifics, if only to avoid ruffling feathers, but between all the documented cases of developers manufacturing fake footage and selling their products on lies, failing to implement features promised during development, knowingly selling games that dont work because they can just "patch it later" etc.; has led to trust in the industry being at an incredible low. We're all affected to some degree, to the point where whenever a game dev says anything or even SHOWS something my knee jerk reaction is to not trust it, or at he very least not let my hopes get up, because I have almost no faith that what I'm being told will happen.
The point of that long rant? People do not trust game developers anymore, and IGA taking steps to stay in touch with his fans and directly address concerns, such as the use of Procedural Generation, in this volatile climate could not be more important.

An excellent update if I do say so myself. This should assuage concerns people had that we'd get poor environment and room design. Using Procedural Generation in this fashion is great. Its really efficient and save the team a ton of time that would have to be spend crafting details like that onto the environment by hand. The gameplay video was an especially nice touch, the side-by-side was great to see in motion.
The concept of the Update itself is great too: addressing concerns shows an attentiveness to the community's concerns, and that is always welcome.

I think updates will be able to be looser and more varied in future, its just that right now, with the new teams and release reschedule there's info Inti really feels it needs to get out there ASAP, so updates might feel a bit "strict" for a bit if that makes sense. I'd love it if, say after they get the crucial info out, we'd get maybe a little combo of some of these options: like every update having one random new screenshot/piece of concept art and answering say, a single popular question. I feel like that could be reasonable as opposed to some of the other options: videos of the dev team or gameplay segments every update feels like its asking far to much (in my opinion at least).
I think some people might feel disappointing there were only 3 times the backers really got to decide on something: The Familiar, The Katana (Team Sword's victory) and the Shaders. I admit I'm satisfied with that (we got to call the shot on how the entire game was going to look, that's pretty amazing really) buuuut it might be cool if we got like, 1 more non-essential poll for something like "Here's 4 unique weapons, winner gets added to the game!" or "Here's 2 armor styles, winner gets in!" That might be neat.
