Why is there no HoD, LoI, CoD though? I'm not saying that my vote is on these but they should still be in there right? As much as I love both of them, LoI and CoD could likely be left off for the sake of sticking to the 2D offerings, but Harmony of Dissonance should be here.

After years of hard work, Pokemon Uranium, a fanmade game, has been released! I've nabbed it myself, and I can honestly say its pretty fantastic. The sprites, the music, everything feels great. Here's a link to the creator's page for downloading, if you desire, as well as a trailer. Feel free to discuss, as well! www.pokemonuranium.com/I went for Raptorch, because fire dinosaur, obviously. I really want MAFEIUS as a Familiar, or at least a temporary summon. It reminds me of the Crow Innocent Devil from CoD, which was my favorite group since eventually you could get a dragon or phoenix following you around.

The closeness to the developers is very nice and quite important, but you don't necessarily need Kickstarter to provide that. If Bloodstained is a success and Inti simply foots the bill for future games, this forum can still serve as a way for the team to keep in contact with the fans and keep us abreast of how things are progressing and get our feedback as the franchise continues into the future. After all, this forum isnt going to just vanish once the game comes out. I imagine a lot of us will be here through the years and sequels to come. We'll have modding threads and speedrun competitions and multiplayer events and all kinds of things to keep the community invested. Continuing to need to rely on Kickstarter would just create a situation where IGA repeatedly falls back on the fans to help him fund games, and that's just not the stable situation the man deserves. Bloodstained should do well, well enough that whomever is currently publishing it will see that success and bank on the franchise themselves in future. that's what i'm worried about this PUBLISHER, presumably koch media/deep silver(which i dont like them anymore), as they have the galls to make a DUMB trailer for mighty no. 9 that ruin their reputaion. are they really trustworthy? how do we know that they wont make another BAD PR stunt that would receive negative backlash? Let's be honest here: that awful trailer was just the cherry on top of a long, hard fall for MN9. The people behind that game had been blundering around for months, steadily loosing faith and hope along the way due to terrible communication. Bloodstained has already established a level of trust, backed up by a solid demo showing and extensive fan communication, that even if some PR team makes a bad trailer (and I doubt the people who made the trailers for MN9 would the the ones working on PR for this game) I'm betting Bloodstained would still do fine. Bloodstained is already a PR godsend due to IGA attending cons and doing vlogs for his fans, plus the updates and polls and demos, the list goes on about how this campaign is substantially better all around.

I remember Harmony and that 99 cap, though I forgot Sotn also capped at 99. It was quite unbalanced, just grind money, buy 99 potions and you may as well have been immortal XD.

It didn't even occur to me that most IGA games cap items at 9. so that is indeed an interesting issue regarding how much ammo the player can carry. The 1H vs 2H is also noteworthy because that could lead to 2-handed guns like flintlock rifles or even a blunderbuss, and/or it could point to dual-wielding pistols, and/or a Pistol with a 1-Handed weapon. I'd find that especially nice, since it would allow players to focus on their firearm for combat if that wish, but still have a melee weapon in the off-hand slot to break candles, secret walls etc. and not have to waste ammo on non-combat trivialities.
Another thing regarding balance will be making sure the bosses have attacks to deal with players who will want to combine firearms with ranged magic and play a keep-away game. Ecclesia did a good job with that honestly, given Shanoa could focus entirely on ranged magic too, so I don't see this being a new issue they've never dealt with before, but its something to keep in mind.

Well I'm just going to quote myself from earlier in this thread: The main counter someone might use is the idea that the artists are creating a very specific gothic/stained glass aesthetic, and letting the player dye the outfits all kinds of colors could clash with the rest of the game's aforementioned aesthetic. I'm not saying it *would* but it *could*. I'd like them to get creative with the fact that, aside from Alucard's capes in SOTN we've never been able to alter the looks of a character before, BUT if the devs announced they don't want a dye system because they want to make sure everything regarding the art style stays consistent I wouldn't be mad. The average fan *seems* to put more value on making sure the art style stays consistent, and we are worried that allowing people to dye Miriam's clothes all kinds of silly colors would ruin the game's mood. If you want proof: just look at the backlash to Vesper's garish color scheme to see this in action. Castlevania fans in general take the art style and atmosphere VERY seriously. Yeah I see what you mean but why would they care? if they don't want those colors then don't do that to your character... that's my stance on that. and this is the first time the player WILL be able to change the main character, I would think a color system would be cool. Though I am with you... I wouldn't be too upset if the devs decided not to incorporate the color system for aesthetic reason... Disappointed, yes. Upset, no. Its the idea that the devs would have to put time, money and effort into a feature that only a portion of the community is even interested in. If there were only a handful of people railing against the idea then the path would be clear: go with the majority; but as this thread has shown its actually slightly split against the idea.

Okay, first: I found it. About 26 minutes Iga and Ben confirm the game takes place in the 18th century during the Industrial Revolution, so late 1700's is correct. Second, I have to agree with Galamoth . I love Spears, have for a long time. Ever since Prince Ephraim from Fire Emblem 8 really, and especially Nephenee from the Tellius saga. One of my favorite classes in any MMO is Lord of the Rings Online's Warden, a defensive class focusing on a spear/shield combo. Spears are really underutilized these days. And hey, if we can get a big badass Alucard Spear equivalent, then I'll be a happy camper.

This may sound weird... but I think someone at nintendo might've wanted him to finish. Here is one theory: nintendo did not do anything to the creator the whole time he was creating it... and it was a big deal in the metroid community, I doubt nintendo missed this. it was on youtube and on social media. and they let the game out for two days before they shut it down... I know people are going to say "it was the weekend" but come on it was widely announced and if they really wanted it out they could have done something... so I still think that nintendo "let" this game be released. even though they stopped it after the release it is out in the internet now, and will never truly die. but this could be some crazy theory from a crazy old dude lol Hey, its the same theory as to why Nintendo is letting the "Mother 4" project continue. They have to know that exists but they arent stopping that either. They likely will when it launches but yeah, it will have launched and be out there.

IGA is all about dat history That is just.... Wrong. Plain and simple. I have to piggyback here. I'm sorry, but no, IGA is not all about making sure Castlevania is historically accurate. Electric Guitars and Baseball Bats in Curse of Darkness, Hamburgers and Hot Dogs in Symphony (and most of them to be honest), fully autonomous robots in Ecclesia (and other games. Hell CoD had an Innocent Devil which was an iron golem with a gattling gun). The list goes on. And that's before we get into trying to count the number out outfits in the games which are actually historically accurate. If his characters were period-accurate: Shanoa and Miriam would be dressed in elaborate dresses with stocking and corsets with their hair done up in buns (it was considered highly inappropriate for women to wear their hair down in public in the 1800's), and all those stylish longcoats his Belmonts wore (ESPECIALLY Leon and Trevor, probably Richter and Juste too) would have to go too. The series has always heavily favored style. Hell that's why we love it so much, its just dripping with "we know this isnt accurate but its damn cool". But yeah, sorry: Castlevania has had a checklist for the "Anachronism Stew" trope for decades XD

looks like we got 50/50 here. yes i will back bloodstained 2 Success or not despite it is a GOOD GAME on the 1st because kickstarter brings a HUGE mount of benefits both the developer and the BACKERS. developers can do whatever they want while we are PR-ish that can spread the word FASTER. plus THIS FORUM brings us together as we are developing games with them, Feedback wise and also chatting whether it's small talk or HOT TOPIC discussion for the team to read. without kickstarter there will be no BOND between the devs and the fans alike like we have right now. i prefer to stay that way. I do wonder what else they will talk about. As mentioned earlier if they still plan to launch in Match we will have updates for: August, September, October, November, December, January and February. So 7, unless they release one last update during the actual launch month. This, of course, is assuming they do not push back the launch, which they probably will but for the sake of my speculation I will operate under the assumption they will launch in March and February will be the final backer update. (A celebratory March update on launch day seems likely and reasonable, I will add).
-I'm betting this Halloween we will get the IGA cosplay we won all those months ago. It likely will not be the focus of an update however -One of these updates will also be either mostly, or probably entirely centered around the Steam/Gog demo. November-January seems like the time to expect this: far enough from the E3 demo to really show progress but also far enough from launch for feedback to be meaningful. Launching the Demo on Halloween would be fantastic timing but i highly doubt it will be ready that soon (just think: the Demo and IGA's cosplay on Halloween. What an October that would be) -One update will almost certainly focus on feedback for the demo
So shaving off 2/7 updates for Demo and related feedback would give them 5 updates to play with between now and launch. What do you think will be shown? I'd bet familiars will be one of them easily. Also one about the conditions for the physical launch of the game: will they hold it until 100% or launch physical and digital together? Perhaps an update detailing multiplayer and the additional modes like Classic and Roguelike seems feasible.
(I almost feel like I should have started a speculation thread with all this theorycrafting XD)

Every IGA game has specialized weapons not in the *base* model. Stuff like the Nebula from Portrait was utterly unique, or the Whip-Sword from Aria or the Balmung fro the same game, or even the famous Crissagrim from Sotn. I highly doubt every single weapon will share these same handful of animations. Most of them probably will, but I'm sure there will be some very unique weapons.

I have to say the reaction to Firearms being a more featured weapon style has been far more positive than I expected. Even in the Sorrow saga the handguns were more of a novelty. I expected a backlash, especially from the more casual fans who might not know previous games did feature guns, even if limited. And yet here we are talking about reload animations and ammunition crafting XD
Though I suppose the attitude here is: "If they're going to give us guns with an actual ammo system, they'd better go all-out and make them a viable playstyle". The Silver Gun Soma could get was cute but...good luck killing Chaos with it you absolute madman!
If there are different kinds of ammo, I'd hope enemies have at least a decent chance of dropping a kind of "standard" ammunition so you don't have to go back to a melee weapon every couple of minutes. Even if the game has something like Dawn/Ecclesia where you can cycle through a couple different setups on the fly that could still gt annoying if even basic ammo is crazy rare and expensive.

They could even toss in a system where she can quickly fire 6 times before having to sit through a lengthy reload animation that left her open. "I love reloading in the middle of a battle" indeed EDIT: I also have to wonder if the ammo system is also to make sure she doesn't feel to much like Albus. After all, he had the best firearm the franchise has ever seen. Super broken but hey, he was a bonus character and that turned out to be a lot of fun.

If the game is around the late 1800's I could see the *penultimate* gun being an actual Revolver, barring some silly boss rush reward like Aria's Positron Rifle XD The late 1800's (aka the Victorian Era) had several kinds of firearms including: Derringers: aka a single-shot "pocket" gun ,which was popular for assassins due to its small size as well as ladies of the time for defense Flintlocks were still in use, though becoming antiqued. AKA the gun in the video could easily be a weaker, early-game firearm. Colt Revolvers: the popular "cowboy" gun was used in Europe in the 1800's, they were very modern at the time, of course Muskets and Flintlock Rifles were still around too, and the earliest shotguns started to appear in the 1800's as well. Without hunting the updates I cannot remember if this game takes place during the Industrial Revolution or just after it, which could set the game anywhere from the 1760's-1890's and would obviously dramatically affect the kinds of firearms available. I do not expect rifles and shotguns, I agree that would stray too far from what we expect in IGA's games. Still, Miriam using some kind of cool, stylized Revolver as the endgame gun would be fine by me, especially if it used some kind of cool, alchemical silver ammunition to aid in demon slaying .
