For those who don't feel like watching a 20 minute video, here's an article on the Deus Ex tiered pre-orders. It views the what Deus Ex is doing as a positive thing, but I would rather just give everyone everything than have to choose between different types of bonuses. The tiers and custom pre-orders sounds too complicated. www.shacknews.com/article/91061/deus-ex-mankind-divided-release-date-and-dynamic-pre-order-bonuses-announcedTales of Zestiria is doing something similar on Steam where if enough people pre-order, they get Tales of Symphonia for free. But I think this one does it better since it's much more simple (enough pre-orders unlock free costumes and a free copy of an older game that the target audience would probably buy anyway). store.steampowered.com/app/351970UPDATE: Jim Sterling just released a video on the Deus Ex pre-orders.

I voted for different reference. I'd like something harder than SOTN, but not as difficult as OOE. I felt the Souls and PoR games had a good level of difficulty.
But as other people have brought up, I'd like the super hard stuff to be in Classic Mode or Nightmare difficulty in order to give people more options on how to enjoy the game.

I think it'd be a good idea and I'd like to see more women in the Bloodstained, especially since Miriam is the only woman revealed at this point. But I also don't want the Bechdel test to be mistaken as a seal of quality. It's a good thing to keep in mind, but there also needs to be a good story/script/translation/localization to go with it as well, happen naturally as part of the story and the characters need to be well-rounded and developed in their own right. Otherwise, the Bechdel test seems like a step on a checklist and feels like something to brag about ("look at how significant we are!").
I'd like there to be a female shopkeeper who's similar to Zoidberg from Futurama. Some sort of monster or creature that's down on their luck, poor, overjoyed when anything is being bought, gives quips/comments on what's being purchased, and feels sad if the player talks to them without buying anything.

castlevania and dragonball. they go together like peanut butter and jelly! or wait.. no they don't at all! =P Anyway, I too found myself doing a double-take on the whole 'early castlevania was about metal music and gore' line. I don't know... I mean sure I can sorta see how early castlevania's music had metal elements at time, probably moreso than other music genre elements. But the dude kinda made it sound alot more profound and concrete than I feel it is....errr..and I kinda thought LATE castlevania had more gore than early =/ I think the "metal music and gore" is a reflection of how Adi Shankar sees Castlevania. NES game sprites left room for the player to fill in details/use their imagination to make things more than what they are, and Shankar has a tendency to gravitate towards violence and the type of stuff you'd find in pulp novels.

Awesome summary! This also makes me get more hyped and excited. I think this kind of panel really made its best work to convince that having a passionate fanbase still means a lot to game developers thanks to KS and the active backers. I liked that point there that their plan included to listen to the backer fans and respect them. That creates positive environment and more active army of the night. I couldn't help but still feel negative towards the fact that Mighty No. 9 had some negative scandal in the community about less than two years ago when they made some random and not that passionate person a representative between Inafune/Comcept and backers. That created too much of a mess and troublesome bitter feelings towards the project for many. I still think some people haven't got over it while the game is some months near to come out. I hope that IGA and others play their cards better and keep that positive respect towards our army. Awwww.. Now I feel my thoughts got a bit sidetracked but couldn't resist to throw a comment. If you get a chance to do it, see a panel at a big con like PAX. It's one thing to view a panel online, but waiting and mingling in line with other fans, sharing a sense of camaraderie in a room packed with 500+ or 1000+ other people, and viewing everything yourself is a whole different experience. Announcements and reveals become much more exciting and everyone around you is just as excited as you are. Just having all those people actually there gives you such a larger idea of how big the community is and the number of fans out there becomes more than just a statistic or usernames behind a monitor. I have a feeling the Bloodstained devs and folks at Fangamer will want to capture as much goodwill from the campaign and PAX panel and have that going on all the time. But it's also up to the fans and backers to participate and make the type of community they want to see. Also, does anyone have any idea of how many people attended the IGA/Bloodstained panel at PAX? I don't think I've seen any info on that anywhere.

Oh my god can we please just stop arguing about arguing and other people's posts and at least stay on-subject about the panel announcements? The whole costume/visuals/stats thing with Dan was totally cool because it was talking about something from the panel. All this meta arguing about posts has derailed the thread too much.

yes you should draw it. Though I'm not interested in the mask portion myself I think seeing the rest of it will outweigh it =P I hope it ends up being like the mask from the 1994 Jim Carrey classic "The Mask" or the mask from the Leonardo DiCaprio version of "The Man in the Iron Mask." Some hats/face stuff I'd like to see: -Kung-fu/karate head band -Aviator sunglasses -Jester hat -Luchador mask -Pirate hat

The stream has been archived on twitch, but it got mislabeled as an FF15 panel and the IGA panel actually starts 10 minutes into the video. The video says it lasts 4hrs 30min, but the panel itself is just an hour.

I never said get rid of RPG elements entirely. I just don't want them tied to hats or outfits. I don't think it's fair to use a customizable character as a selling point for the game, then have that customization taken away if you want to go after the best defense or offense. Plus, I'd rather see Bloodstained be its own thing than just "SOTN, slightly different edition." I heard WoW has an option where you can change the visual style of your armor but still keep its stats. Maybe Bloodstained could have something for that. Or maybe tie the stats to Miriam's crystals instead. You'd still be changing stats like in older Castlevania games, but things like strength, speed, and defense, could be tied to the crystals instead of things like hats or clothes. Better yet. Let's just agree to Disagree and instead be happy that a visual appearance changing feature is even making this game. Good stuff right? K. Sounds good. I was trying to steer the conversation in that direction by offering possible solutions that'd make both parties happy. Didn't mean to come off as confrontational. Also, if you're going to be this active on the boards, just go ahead and sign up!

I agree 100%, but some people just want to look fashinable while killing monsters. Whats the harm in making clothes non stat changing an optional feature? Because they most likely won't have that option and I rather it be tied to stats than have no purpose at all but Changs looks Well, some people just like changing looks just for fun and that's all there is to it. If there's still RPG elements and extra details like in SOTN and the players have the ability to change Miriam's looks without effecting those stats, I honestly don't see what the problem is since you'd still be getting what you want and people like me would be getting what I want. You've played Terraria? In this game you can equip things on a visual inventory, and it shows in your character but doesn't give stats, you can also color items using different equipable inks. This way every single item can be used as an real equip, or instead you put it in the visual tab. For people that wants to be "naked" of equips, a special set exists that shows your character without armor. That sounds like a much better way of describing the thing I'm trying to describe. A visual inventory and a stats/practical armor inventory. That sounds like a good way to please everyone.

I don't feel that way because the RPG elements of an IGAVANIA game is what I want most out of this game. I mean...isn't that why most people want IGAVANIA to return? It's not to make a non-igavania game. This is perfectly in line with SOTN type details. I like finding equipment and seeing what it looks like on the character and seeing what features or benefits it might have. It's not like you get the coolest stuff in the beginning of the game. The leather shield is the first shield you FIND and it's the ugliest and least beneficial for instance. If you were to use it, it would bump your stats down but it's not like the game is impossible to play. It's just kinda a moot point to complain about. We are getting a deeper experience, the deeper the experience the better. I never said get rid of RPG elements entirely. I just don't want them tied to hats or outfits. I don't think it's fair to use a customizable character as a selling point for the game, then have that customization taken away if you want to go after the best defense or offense. Idk about you peeps but getting cloaks that changed the look of Alucard was one of my favorite things. You know what would be better than that? Being able to change it any time you want in the menu without having to equip anything that would lower your stats.

I hope costume pieces aren't tied to character stats. It's frustrating when you get equipment you like but it has low defense/isn't practical to wear, or when you want to have high defense but don't like how the equipment looks. EDIT: crocodile, that's a great write-up! You could make it its own thread. I don't want pointless head gear either though. Cloaks were the same way in SOTN, they had different attributes. Didn't stop me from wearing a weaker one because it's cooler! I'd rather have pointless headgear if it meant character stats or defense were tied to something else, kinda like how Paper Mario: Thousand Year Door let you change Mario's colors/sounds without changing his stats. I'd rather not sacrifice visual style for more practical stats. (Plus, it's not really pointless if you're wearing something that's sole purpose is to make your character look neat just because you like it. )

There was a Q&A that got cut short due to time, but there's going to be another ask IGA to make up for it. The ask iga is coming out today right?! I wouldn't expect it today due to time. IGA has to do the autograph session at PAX right after the panel, then the questions and answers need to be translated, filmed, and edited.
