Them's Fightin' Herds(great name by the way), gets a congrats from me. Though with that campaign and this one's very slow start, it made me realize just how psychological this can be. High goals can scare people away, but what about goals that are close to being finished or are already finished? That's when the influx starts to come in. That's what I'm betting on as far as this project. The word of mouth is great, I personally made sure to help with that, but we got 24 days left and we gotta make this work. I've seen crazier things happen, but I think they can make it. Yeah, I do think that aiming high from the beginning was a mistake for this campaign. Starting at the minimum acceptable pledge for a bare bones product and then working your way up with stretch goals seems to be far more effective than trying for what you actually want from the beginning. The best campaigns(including Bloodstained) manipulate their intended audience, persuading them to increase their pledges and draw in more backers to reach that goal that they're almost at. I don't think that's a bad thing either. If the end result is everyone getting a superior product and thus a greater level of satisfaction for their pledge, then manipulating them to that end is the correct decision. Much better that than getting everyone emotionally invested and then falling short because you couldn't convince enough people to pledge in.

Didn't realize this hadn't been posted here yet. They're in their final 24 hours with a bit under £1000 to go. There's a demo available as well.

So, I can get the trilogy if I back the project for $80? because I was on the page, I kinda lost there You can get it digitally for $60. $80 gets you the physical version, and $150 gets you the collector's edition along with all of the stretch goal stuff. Oh, and it looks like the next stretch goal after Photon Melodies/Flowers is going to be a physical version of the Codex:

Bah, I already lost all hope on this project, learning japanese is a pain, but I'll get there. This isn't the same group that's been fumbling about with this. Apparently Mcjon is considered to be fairly dependable and has translated Type-Moon stuff before.

This is pretty great news for fans of the Fate universe. There's still a ways to go before the whole VN is translated, but this is a sign that we may be able to read this before the sun burns out after all! Link to announcement

New tiers available for those that might want a physical Vita copy of the VNs.
EDIT: CODEX UNLOCKED! We're on track to pick up that last stretch goal(though it seems there may be one last stretch goal that will be revealed when we get the next one).

Yeah, taking away the limit on the $300 Takemikazuchi tier helped a bit, but I think the $150 tier minimum to get the extra stuff from the stretch goals is the biggest factor here.
Annnnnd Vita/Android versions UNLOCKED!

I'd be very shocked if they could patch books. But fortunately either way, I read Japanese. I may be confused, but are you under the impression that Muv-Luv is a book? It's a visual novel.

Dang, not even a day and it's almost reached its goal! This certainly seems like a successful kickstarter Yeah, reaching the goal was never a question. The real trick is going to be hitting that last stretch goal so we can get Altered Fable, The Day After and all that officially localized too.

All right.... well, I'm intrigued. I just ordered the original series and Unlimited off of Amazon Japan. Which one is the third series? There appears to be one on-going... The main series consists of Muv-Luv(which contains Extra and Unlimited) and Muv-Luv Alternative. There are a fair number of side stories as well. Keep in mind that if you ordered it from Amazon, it's going to be in Japanese. You can get a translation patch for it, but the Kickstarter version will be the better way to go if you have the patience to wait until March.

Haha, you beat me to it!
So for anyone unfamiliar, Muv-Luv is a trilogy of visual novels(delivered in two games), the third of which is the highest rated visual novel on VNDB. It's has a fan translation for years, but this release will be improving upon that, overhauling the engine for Windows 8+ compatibility, upgrading the art assets to a higher resolution, and other various improvements.
The story is one that changes from novel to novel, starting as a fairly standard high school harem romance/comedy, but then changing into a mecha comedy, and finally into an epic mecha action/drama that is possibly the best mecha story I've encountered in any medium. If you haven't read any visual novels, this is not a bad place to start, and if you do read them but haven't read this, then you are missing out.
Anyway, I'm hoping this does well, because I really want Photon Melodies/Flowers to get translated. Amusingly, I'm starting off at a lower pledge than I initially planned($300) because the model kit tiers are limited, while the jacket is not. I may upgrade later or add the jacket as an add-on later.

I don't think the response was dodging questions even if it was bs. It's simply saying that none of these concerns are valid, thus the specific question is irrelevant. As I said I wouldn't take customer service's word on anything but I would like to add that it is certainly not the norm for a game company to freely disclose information especially through lower tier workers. Besides the part of the question they responded to was clearly "...now that you guys are leaving the MGS series behind?" (which wasn't actually a question) and everything they responded with pertained to this. They had already told us their plans to continue these series months ago (as they stated in their reply) and they reiterated it here. Like Dojima said the questions weren't answered. I hope I'm not sounding combative, just trying to explain how this didn't tell us anything that we didn't already know and did not in fact answer any of the 3 questions asked. @scars: It is, but as you didn't argue that portion further I have nothing to rebut. It doesn't answer what they are doing with it at all, as you said "they'll either keep using the Fox Engine or use something else as they choose" and your question about licensing it out is still a possibility. My point is this, we don't know what they are going to do. So how exactly did you receive an answer if we already knew the possibilities and they didn't say they were doing any of them? The validity of the first question hinges on Konami ceasing gaming development, hence "now that you guys are leaving the MGS series behind." Since they aren't (at least within the context of this reply), the question has no meaning, any more than asking someone where they plan to live when the answer is obviously "at home." The second question stems from the first. The assumption of the questioner is that Konami won't be using the engine, so licensing it out would be another way to make money from it. If this were not so, it would be asked in a separate query instead of attached to the same as the first. Now you could possibly say that it's still a valid question since Konami could use the engine and license it out, but the flippant answer would be "you do remember that Konami is a Japanese company, right?" The answer is no, Konami is not going to license out tech that they are using in their own games, because Japanese companies don't work like that. So if Konami is making games still(again, within the context of this reply), then the question has already been answered for anyone capable of simple observation and pattern recognition. The third question is actually answered. "What is the possibility of expanding upon MGSV?" "We're definitely not leaving Metal Gear behind or anything like that." Okay, you could probably get a more specific answer on that, but the answer is - once again - obvious to anyone paying attention, and that answer is "yes, but probably not in any way you wanted." Or, to be flippant once again: "HORSE ARMOR FOR EVERYONE!" The point is, the obvious source of the concern in these questions is the rumor that Konami is quitting the games industry. The reply is that the concern is unwarranted.

Sure they did. If someone asks you "where are you going to live now that your house has burnt down?" then answering with "Actually, my house is just fine," is a perfectly good answer. You don't have to explicitly say where you're going to live; obviously you are going to keep living in your home. Likewise, there is no need to answer the question "what are you going to do with the Fox Engine?" if they already debunked the assumption "now that you've moved on." They haven't moved on, so they'll either keep using the Fox Engine or use something else as they choose. He is right though, they didn't answer the any of the questions and your response is a false equivalence. Even if they did answer the questions it wouldn't actually matter as it was customer support. You would have to ask someone way higher up in the company than that. If by some miracle they were privy to that info they would probably not be allowed to comment on it. It's not. If they say they aren't moving on, but are rather going to continue making games, that also answers what they are doing with the Fox Engine, or at least makes the question irrelevant. And I've worked enough customer service jobs to recognize a "this is out official stance" statement when I see one. Whether or not Konami is going to close up shop in gaming development, this is the same response you'll get from pretty much anyone able to speak in an official capacity until that day comes.

Okay, so now that the show is over, I'm going to have to recommend Rokka no Yuusha to everyone. Best show of the season for my money. It's a fantasy action/mystery, with an emphasis on the mystery. The best part is that it's actually solvable by the audience, which is something a lot of modern mysteries skip out on. Not easily solvable, but it's possible. I also love the pseudo-mesoamerican aesthetic it's got going with the architecture and all.

Apparently Konami is denying this rumor, though no public statement has been given. Granted, this is just a CSR response, but then again, the reports are just rumors.
