Not sure I'd reference that as the Voldemort of the Bloodstained forums. I mean in the end, other than new folks coming in occasionally and jump starting the discussion things seemed to settle into more a satirical discussion fairly quickly from what I recall. And honestly I see the same thing happening here. There are a few making comments that are polarizing, and I'm assuming the they are intended in a non-inflammatory manner. And there are folks responding in a decently civilized manner. Now, I agree that things did get pretty heated in the previous thread that shall not be named (oh God, you have me doing it now ), but in the end things settled down and a discussion was had. I see the same thing happening here and things seemed to have "cooled off" a lot faster.
Speaking of the boss design, I might question its color palate (not at all a big deal but what is the boss made of?) or its textures (they look a bit unfinished - or is it going for a "this is made of water" vibe which I could understand) or the fact that its way too easy (but hey its a demo I'm assuming/hoping that will be fixed later and will press on that) but I have no issue with its bust.
OK, so really simple on this one, by the points, and I would like to know what you think. Color palate: I think the issue here is that there are no mid tones between colors. Almost every thing on Vepar is a solid (and vivid no less) color with what appears to be NO blending at all between different areas. While I understand wanting to make the enemies/bosses stand out from the background I almost get a circus feeling from the choice of coloration here. I think the same colors in the same general areas could have worked if they were blended between areas a little more generously.
Textures: What textures? Aside from maybe the scarf Vepar was wearing and the eyes and mouth of the belly I didn't really get a sense of textures on this boss at all. Or maybe I misunderstood and you were referencing the lack of textures?
Way too easy: Eh. The same argument could be made for Death in the opening of Rondo of Blood. So there is a precedent for it. Besides, this is the "trainer" stage. And on top of that we weren't given a difficulty setting to change. Maybe this was the game on "SUPER SPECTACULARLY EASY MODE!!!!" for the demo. I personally thought for the opening "pre-game" stage the difficulty was about right. It felt like the opening corridor of SOTN. (The one before the first meeting with Death) A chance for you to get familiar with the controls and the game mechanics as well as a "prelude" boss battle.
Nudity and silliness are different categories. I wouldn't consider that chest nude; the nipples weren't even there. I just don't expect a sea creature to have such a bust; it would be bad for swimming around. xD
Sure, they'd be GREAT for swimming. They'd make for excellent ballast! Built in floaties/water wings and all. XD
And just as an aside, has everyone noticed that Vepar seems to be infected with the crystal curse as well? I mean it looks like what is happening to Gebal's face is happening to Vepar's cheeks and jaw (the one on its head not its belly)...
Hey, just remember. This is ONLY a demo meant to give us SOMETHING to see. I'm sure there is all kinds of stuff that we haven't a clue about that's coming. Including death animations. I mean I could see the one depicted above if she gets hit, one that she just slumps over and dies, one that she is consumed by the curse and crumbles, and as was proposed earlier one where she is consumed and shatters.
Either way, the best we can do is keep making our suggestions and wait for the actual beta.
I was using a Steam controller and I actually had the opposite problem. I couldn't always get Miriam to crouch or do the down slash when I wanted. Kept having to remind myself to push further down on the stick.
Has anyone else noticed in that image that Miriam's flower on her back is no longer flat, but LITERALLY BLOOMING OFF HER SKIN?!?!?
Also, did anyone else catch what appears to be another path that everyone seems to be zooming past? In the room before the boss there appears to be a section of the floor you should be able to drop through, but I've not seen anyone try it in the videos that have been shown here...
You're a bit late Jim boy, you could see that here
Oh... Darn. You're right.
Has anyone else noticed the blood dripping from the left end of Miriam's status bar in the game?
[HEAD]:She is equipped with a headband that the player got and her looks didn't changed. We know Miriam will have some special equipment that changes her looks, but i guess this is not the place for it.
Just want to point out that her look does change if you equip the headband. I feel that changing armour might also change her looks, maybe slightly if she just puts it on underneath her regular dress.

The boss has giant boobs? Is it because we had so many discussions about it for Miriam, so they want us to have better perspective on the relativity of size of breast? Haha..It looks too colorful to me, as well.
I watched the videos, couldn't resist. It looks so good! A year ago the campaign had finished and we already have so much. It is great to see the progress of development going fine, even better than expected.
That spoiler made me laugh so hard...
And also... KICK HER IN HER BOOBS!!!! no seriously... I mean it....
That's some cool stuff!!! Also, I've wanted to get into VHD for ages but location, location, location. I ain't paying no 40$ at the local con for the Bloodlust movie, are you nuts, vendors!? (I'm cheap, I'm sorry OTL) Gonna have to track down everything online. Thankfully my paycheck came in, but it's between this and a NEW PC BUILD JUST TO RUN BLOODSTAINED BETA... OTL OTL
My dear dimlitcandle, we both live in Indy. If its a choice between the PC and seeing VHD, I will gladly loan you my DVDs of VHD and VHD:B so you can get yourself a new PC.
Hmmmm...... Jim......... now where did I get that name from.....
Oh, that's right. Jim is my actual name. Which is odd, because there is only three places on the internet where I go by my actual name. Here, Kickstarter, and Facebook. There is a second user name that I use pretty much anywhere else I go on the internet. Not going to list it here because... well lets just say I do not intend for those two worlds to ever have a definite public link on the internet. But suffice it to say that it was pretty simple and multi-part but rarely did anyone ever get the entire reference... In fact, I'm not sure that anyone in my 15 years of using that name has EVER gotten the complete reference.... Yay for being a young and dumb geek/nerd I suppose.... In fact, I still have an e-mail account with that name. But anywho, A GNOME YOU SAY???
Redogan: Some people are gonna get to eat a meal and play some games with IGA! Awesome!

LeoLeWolferoux: Sooo... I guess some dude on Twitter stumbled across a financial document from 505 games indicating that a '2nd version' of Bloodstained was in the works??? back sometime in like 2021???
Apr 15, 2023 21:00:49 GMT -6
LeoLeWolferoux: How am I just now finding out about this/ C'mon, IGN. Get it together.
Apr 15, 2023 21:01:12 GMT -6
LeoLeWolferoux: Dunno how this Twitter user came across these documents, tho, assuming since they don't know any further details, it wasn't someone *from* 505 Games. I certainly hope it was obtained via legal means...
Apr 15, 2023 21:02:13 GMT -6
XombieMike: Shortly after 505 let that document go public the official Bloodstained twitter confirmed there will be a second game. ArtPlay is finishing Bloodstained DLC and then we will learn more about the next game.

Redogan: Any ideas on when we get the rest of the updates? I'm still waiting on my physical copy with everything on it for my CV collection.
Aug 23, 2023 12:48:28 GMT -6
Redogan: Nice to see a project update! I like the new Classic 2.0 mode with Dominique. Looks like it plays like a traditional CV game--which is a good thing. Glad to see some gameplay video of Chaos and VS modes, too!
Sept 6, 2023 18:16:32 GMT -6
ShroudedTraveler: Did they say when they were releasing the update with Dominique? I don't recall seeing anything in the video, so I'm assuming not
Sept 7, 2023 16:40:01 GMT -6
Redogan: I didn't see anything about the release date. I just know that it is paid DLC. (So, us backers don't get it for free. Which is fine.)
Sept 8, 2023 16:54:52 GMT -6
ShroudedTraveler: Yeah. At this point, with the game being as old as it is, I'd be fine paying for the content.
Sept 12, 2023 19:00:02 GMT -6
XombieMike: Classic mode 2 will be canon!
Sept 15, 2023 19:55:00 GMT -6
Ciel: Been a long time since I last logged here, but it seems that until we get any news of a sequel, there won't be much to discuss. Oh well!

purifyweirdshard: The discord is certainly where the activity is, but we'll keep this forum up and running as long as we can. Bloodstained's subreddit also still moves along pretty well
