I have no idea where you got that image from. Heres a screenshot I took ( Left) vs. yours ( Right) Mine is from the Gematsu video. It's got to be a video thing because if it was a lighting issue the HUD would't be affected.

Well, those aren't all the weapon types in the game, that's just what weapons you can get in the demo. I didn't see a list of categories, just a list of what Curry acquired while he was playing. About knives vs rapiers, I would assume that knives carry an advantage kind of like they did before, such as how being close enough would net you two hits (works for unarmed punch, baselard and combat knife in SotN for example). They could also adjust the critical rate for them, if they haven't already done something like either of these. The church Gematsu video had a list of categories.

I wonder why guns and throwing swords are gone. The old demo had them, right? "Throwing swords" sounded like a silly idea to me honestly lol but I would have liked to see something of the guns. Maybe they were removed because they can result redundant with trigger shards and directional shards? You thought the Heavens Sword, Rune Sword, and Chakram were silly?

That was surprisingly dull. Most of us had already seen everything. I was so sure whip would be my favorite weapon but with the new changes to the shoes I'm not so sure anymore!

Hi there, i didn't back bloodstained but i made an account here cause i'm interested to see how it goes so i want how it turns out. I played a lot of 2d castlevania games but no 3d ones, my favourite one is Dawn of sorrow because of the soul system and how much hours you can waste collecting hundreds of souls and making weapons etc. so i'll probably like this game too. I never had much trust on any kickstarter games, even sucessful ones so forgive my uncertainty here. I'm a pessimist guy so i'd rather pay for a finished product. Also english isn't my first languague so i hope i'm uh, "understandable" enough. Welcome! You will love it here.

I've been re-watching these videos all day and I just noticed.... is every single enemy going to just ragdoll then disappear as a death animation? I sure hope not! One of my favorite things about old Igavanias was the ridiculous unique death animations all enemies had. The old demo had Buer explode with purple blood. And you could decapitate and burn Morte depending on your weapon. I hate when games do boring deaths. I'm looking at you From Software.

Im not dissapointed, this is why...
Many of us fell in love with the SotN brand of Castlevania games for years. We were spoiled by the almost yearly consistent release of new high quality (low budget) Castlevania games.
Iga's games had an almost indie feel before the indie scene really took off. 2D games were a rarity in those days. Konami decided Castlevania should be a more mainstream AAA title so after Order of Ecclesia 10 YEARS AGO we never got another Iga title. The Lords of Shadow games just didn't feel the same. And (at least in my opinion) indie games immitating the metroidvania formula pale in comparison.
I'm sure you already know all that but my point is... most of us in the forums waited a decade for another game like this and the fact that it exists is enough. You're talking to people that still play games from the early 90's on a regular basis. We don't give a shit if Miriams hair isn't bouncy enough

What if they sped up the running animation speed but kept the distance traveled the same? Maybe thats what people are noticing.

The only things that stood out as bad were the white curtains of the boss room, the bell collapse and the palette swap of Aello. I was hoping pallete swapping would be kept to a minimum.
