I understand that a lot of people are salty after the announcements so emotional posts are expected. That said, if anyone thinks that the Bloodstained devs cancelled the Vita port for any reason besides them absolutely having to then you're a fool. There is 100% no way they would make such a decision and willingly welcome the backlash and PR bomb that goes with it. No. Their backs were clearly up against the wall here. Again, I know people are upset and disappointed but it's important to maintain a three-dimensional perspective here. And in the spirit of maintaining that three-dimensional perspective, for all the people complaining about Kickstarter game development always disappointing in some capacity remember that Iga actually said he agrees with you. haha In traditional game development the public almost never learned a title existed until it was about 70% completed. Obviously that strategy circumvents almost all the problems most frequently plaguing Kickstarter games. The speedbumps Bloodstained has ran into are no different than the ones large publisher games face. Unfortunately, most consumers don't care to do their homework or understand the nature of the production they're investing in with Kickstarter. Getting a peek behind the curtain of game development comes with a price. Believe it or not it's not all fun and games.
I can't help but agree with you on the second part, it's true things can always pop up in game development they didn't plan for, but since we already got behind the curtains in this situation you can't help but wonder about what's going on behind the scenes multiple times until the game comes out. You're probably right about them possibly having no choice to cancel the Vita port for all we know they may have lost money and time as well on that but at the same time we don't have any evidence. Perhaps, they'd rather upset a few thousand people as the price for not going through the trouble releasing it on the vita maybe even saving money. The juice is not worth the squeeze saying. It's a speculation but it doesn't help that IGA made such a scripted and robotic video. Perhaps there wasn't any time for anything else, but I would have preferred for him to speak casually and from the heart, convince me with his own words how this is for the best.

I just had to make a video, tried to be as objective as possible but fair to say I did back a digital ps vita copy.

If I get a super broken weapon like that I want to really earn it, but then there's the multiplayer stuff and competitive PVP perhaps, so maybe it's not a good idea.

As much as I'd love for it to come out this year, I'm bracing myself for a 2019 "delay" at this point. Hopefully it'll be out by March, if that is the case.
Completely irrelevant but what game is your avatar from? I already talked in depth about the chances for each month so I don't want to bother again.

I think it's not out of the question they might make it at the end of 2018. Releasing it in the Christmas period, late November or in December might be when they actually want to launch it. I remember Angel Corlux saying they know when they want to launch it but they're not announcing anything yet just to be safe. From now to December it's around 6 months but to be honest my instinct is also telling me it might go all the way to March or February. I think it might even work out better like that. The trick is to find something to keep us occupied and busy

I just hope one of the commanding members here sees this and tells IGA and team, if they'll even allow it. As you may have seen me mention elsewhere on the forum, we're doing official beta feedback threads here on the forum again so this (and all things like it) will be heard and collected to present to the team. One of the main focuses of the beta backer demo is to gather feedback from the backers to be presented to the team, like the 2016 one. This particular item has been quite popularly mentioned already, on many busy internet discussion outlets besides our own, so no worries on this specific thing being heard.
Thank you, it's a good thing to know as I think this something that can't be that hard to fix/change and a lot of us would love some stylish portraits like that.

I can't help but feel the dialogue animation is problematic because of the chosen shader they went with the characters but what the hell do I know. But yeah, some nice Ayami Kojima style style portraits can't disappoint.

I looked at the new Bloodstained E3 gameplay from IGN and I only had one issue. The characters talking didn't look that good and I also thought I'd prefer some nice character portraits instead. A lot of people mentioned that in the comments of the youtube video so I thought I'd share this here too and ask what everyone else thinks. I understand that at this point in time their decision might be final regarding this.

Normally I would be excited for a compilation like that but I've replayed the games so much I don't even know if I want that. I was hoping for a compilation for the ps2 games remastered for a very long time but since they didn't do it I ended up replaying Curse of Darkness recently again.

That Game Informer review... "It's not perfect in its attempts to be like an old game because it's too much like the old games" basically? Did he know he could turn knockback off? That there's a bunch of modes to play with different challenges? "Moderate" replay? get outta here
I agree but we can't do anything about it. I actually think it's not like the old games as much due to the programming and level design. I had found many ways to cheese through enemies that isn't as prevalent or easy to do in other old castlevania games particularly castlevania 3 making me think that maybe it's the first time Inti Creates made a game that's supposed to be like the classic old castlevania games. That's a good thing though because I wanted and played the game on veteran and it wasn't easy

Well, when I was playing Harmony of Despair with people I wanted to collect the rare items and beat the boss. Eventually you get everything besides the rare items only bosses give on hard mode so that was out goal. I still wanted to kill enemies though to train my glyphs (I was mostly using Shanoa) but there were some players from Japan especially that would have the boss dead in a minute after we started the stage.

I didn't know there was a curse of moon website, might check it out later. I think there is a very good chance some of them might show up if not all of them in ritual of the night. I mean think about it, most of the bosses and enemies from the classic castlevania games showed up so why not Bloodstained? We know Bloodless is in both games (at least I hope they didn't remove her from ritual of the night) and a lot of the monsters too, so I think there's a good chance they'll make it. We could always ask them anyway, I just re watched XombieMike's podcast with mana yesterday, if a lot of pople feel strongly about something it increases the chances for IGA to listen.

Yeah well, even the cashgrabs Castlevanias have always had incredible music. Harmony of Despair (yes, I call that game a cashgrab that has nothing to do with the series as I intend it) had awesome remixes and this is looking like the same situation. I'll listen with pleasure. (hell, even the Pachislots had some otherwordly compositions like Trezire de Spirit)
In my opinion that game and its idea had a lot of potential. If Konami wasn't so halfassed on it and give some money for the production it could have been something even better. The combination of way too much recycled content (even the music) and no real graphical improvement are legitimate things against it but it was very fun for many of us, I've actually poured more hours on it than almost all, if not all Castlevania games I played. In my opinion it's an insult to compare this with Grimoire of Souls.

I hope you guys make a podcast again soon, I love hearing the thoughts of Angel Corlux. Couldn't ask for a more real brand manager for Bloodstained and I don't mean to flatter, I mean that.
