Been quite a while for me to step here again too. It'be good if indeed a nother IGA game is coming. Since that time I've played other more inde 2D vania style games but never ended up finishing them as they didn't fully do it for me. Even Bloodstained, despite me beating it and replaying it some more for trophies it just didn't have the same replay value for me as Order of Ecclesia or SOTN. I hope the next one gives me more of that addictive feel. Last game I played to give me that was Bloodborne.

I have collector's box tier myself and just got the shipping email on Friday night. I'm in the eastern US. So, must not be over. I see, it's frustrating though that communication with them is so poor. I mean, it isn't like we're still in that period fresh after launch. I just want this to be over with, I was happy to help out IGA but if the process is gonna be like this then it's too much of a hassle for me.

I am making a thread about this here as Fangamer on twitter hasn't replied back to me and it's been weeks since I messaged them.
I backed for the Signed Collector's Box and so far the only thing I received is the physical game. I didn't even get the $60 slip case yet. I haven't received a shipping confirmation or any other note. I gave my name and backer ID to Fangamer so they should be able to see what's going on but still nothing.
I don't know if anyone else is experiencing this as I haven't been here for a while but I think I've been pretty patient.

I've been very curious myself what could it possibly be, and why he's so certain it wouldn't sell well. I'm one of those that loved his PS2 3D games just as much as his 2D igavania ones and would love if he gave 3D another shot but I don't think that's what he means with his secret game.

Thank you answering EBBenjy No, I play on PS4. I once almost brought a XB1 but unfortunately they all sold out last summer. I do not have Switch, I'm kind of a last-generation guy because I have no intend to buy anything this generation, like I mentioned PS4 is a mistake actually, I mean my mistake, it's not for me but I do not say it's bad, it's for the majority and not me. And thanks for the tips, I will try to make a post there in "Game Feature Suggestion." So I just read not only me, but other people also experience overheat in PS4, to a point that they cannot see the ending, that's really interesting to know. So exactly like I suggested, I'm thinking lower the framerate and or graphics (if possible) should have a positive impact at least to ease my mind. Just remember GT5 also give me that loud noise from console PS3 which is now gone... Thanks for the advice for Vepar, I actually did finished her after she finished me me a whole hour, that's not a easy game. Quickly soon I saved my game in the hideout and quit, where I realized later that's not far away from the castle. I'm now currently just beaten Samurai but he's not easy too, I need to level up first and get the spike boots, and that shard which point out 30MP/s, sorry about the names but I cannot remember them. About the directional up hint, the problem is, I mean this game is not only a game, it's a masterpiece of art I think everyone will agree, and that big white directional hint is kind of... ruining the scene don't you think? Maybe just me again, I know I'm rare My favorite weapons so far is the spike boots, brouncing water shard, and that 30MP/s. Swords are all likely slow responding and I prefer more dynamic action. anonthemouse That's clear now thanks, I thought the alchemists are good people... so Miriam or other shardbinders are victims. saberwolf94 How can you play "Nightmare"? Only "Normal" is available in my first game. OK I should move to the spoiler forum for deeper secrets. dareka Shardbinders are like between the good and the bad to me then, hmmm... more secrets to review in the diary, that's interesting. At file select start a new game with NIGHTMARE in all caps hard mode and nightmare mode become available in the beginning. There are numerous other codes too you can find them on places like gamefaqs.

Difficulty is pretty subjective and depends on a person's skill level. I started in Nightmare mode for my very first playthrough (you and familiars are stuck at level one, stronger enemies show up in earlier levels) and I beat the game with only some bosses giving me some difficulty which I could have mitigated anyway if I just stacked with more healing items. It's the kind of game that is easy by its design to give you options to grind for power ups while the bosses and enemies themselves don't change. I also have issues with the story (more with some characters to be honest) but it's usually typical in many IGA games, I think the rules are you can't spoil things unless you're on a specific thread so be careful.

Between the slacker backer campaign (which lasted a very long while) and paypal I heard that the total funds gathered were around 7 million but I can't provide any evidence, I don't remember where I read it though. 15 million seems a bit too crazy for me although I agree that 505 must have provided more financial assistance after they got involved. I would imagine for them to be so eager to get involved after the success of the campaign they must have calculated wide margins for profit and since their asking price for it is so generous I think it should be good. The better question is for enough newbies to get impressed and want more games of the same nature to be produced. You’re forgetting a very very important part. Iga didn’t get the $5.5 million from KS. You have to substract taxes, fees and the cut to KS. Iga has gone on record to say that a little more than half is what you really get at the end of a KS campaign to work with and then there’s the manufacturing and shipping of the tens of thousands of backer rewards. Más far as game crowdfundings go Bloodstained still broke records, they just didn’t have as much money in the end as you thought. As for the additional funding through PayPal, slacker backing, and additional funds by external sources like 505 that’s an entirely different matter. I have to confess I forgot about kickstarter's cut in fees but it's unbelievable for me to think that they keep almost half. For them to get more than $300000 to $500000 is almost like theft in my opinion. But I think paypal and everything else they got after the main campaign in the slacker backer window does matter as it's just more money coming while the game is in development without adding even more stretch goals.

I mean, steamspy shows that there are 200k-500k owners on Steam alone, and for a $40 indie game that's pretty nuts. I wouldn't worry too much about it. That's very good, but one thing to keep in mind is that the game has probably cost far more than 5.5 million dollars to produce. IIRC, though I'd have to ask around to find it, not long after 505 came on board, Igarashi said the 5.5 million Kickstarter funds had already been "long gone." I believe, though again I'd have to ask to make sure, that 505 added in a decent bit of its own money to the project to do things like get Wayforward on board. If you put a gun to my head and asked me to estimate how much the game cost, especially after the delays relating to Inti, I'd say 15 million dollars as a conservative estimate.
Now, add to that the costs involved in
A: Getting out the free DLC, which was promised on Kickstarter, intended to be part of the base game, and therefore not anything the team can make money off of. They might be able to profit off of costume and story expansion DLC in the future, but the stuff we're looking forward to at the moment is not making us money in return for the continuing development costs.
B: Fixing a lot of bugs, which seem to be much more severe than anyone hoped for, especially at launch (the bad press of which might drag on sales at least slightly). Given the number and severity of those bugs, especially in regards to the Switch, I imagine fixing them is going to take a a considerable amount of cash.
So, with these two factors added in, I think they'd add anywhere from 5 million (at most) to let's say 2 million (if the "free DLC" stretch goals encourages a few more people to buy the game, and if the DLC is relatively easier to make thanks to the basic game systems and assets already completed). So again taking a conservative estimate, we're at a total of 17 million for development costs.
Now, going from the stats you gave, Mourning, if there are 200k sales on Steam, and the game is selling for 36 dollars (not 40, they're taking 10% off at the moment), we get
200,000 x 36 = 7,200,000, or 7 million and two hundred thousand dollars.
At the higher end, 500k copies, we get
500,000 x 36 = 18,000,000 or 18 million.
Now, the higher number alone would seem to net us a profit of 1 million over the initial estimated dev costs of 17 million. But keep in mind there are always Steam fees, taxes, and other things eating away at our profit margin. So I think under the most generous assumptions, we're making in income 60% of what steam reports in sales. So that would be 60% of 7.2 million or 4.32 million for 200k sales, or 10.8 million for 500k sales. So even being as generous as possible for Steam sales, we're still a good deal in the red. If PS4, Xbox, and Switch sales are even comparable to the higher end of the steam sales, that could push us back into the black, but I get the feeling we were relying on a lot of Switch sales and the problems with the Switch port might be severely eating into our sales on that front, which would leave a hefty impact on our end profits.
I don't think all is lost--it's been less than a month since release, and if we've already got a high end of 500k sales on Steam alone, it is conceivable we'll have well over a million (Steam combined with other platforms) before the year is out; even 50% profits of a million sales of 36 to 40 dollars (as the steam sale will end eventually) will allow us to turn a profit on 17-20 million development costs. And this is all napkin math anyways, it may be I've massively overestimated the development costs and/or the cut Steam and taxes take too. Still, even with very strong sales for an indie, I don't think we're entirely out of the woods yet...let's hope the coming DLC encourages a ton of new folks to buy the game!!!
Well, it is the weakest type of dlc compared to additional stages with new enemies, bosses and loot you can get there (like HOD) but it's up to them if they want to do it and people want to buy it. My concern is that the game is still buggy and even lags and freezes for a few seconds completely before resuming as normal when I play it even on the ps4 and they need to get on top of that instead of worrying about outfit dlc. Not to mention they still haven't patched in the dlc that should have been in the game in the first place.

I just realized I shared my backer ID thinking it was the order number, can people actually steal it? I mentioned that to you in your thread. I don't think it will be a problem - all they can do with it is use your backer ID in-game, or possibly claim to be you in contact with Fangamer, but their email/other info wouldn't match yours so that probably wouldn't get them far. Yeah, but I realized too late. I hope it is indeed useless, I'm embarrassed I was so careless but I'd grown impatient of waiting for my game.

saberwolf94 It has been released. IGA appears if you re-enter the throne room. Which version of the game do you have? With steam it's DLC you have to download additionally. I don't know about the console versions. Unfortunately I still haven't received my game yet but I finally got an answer that they shipped it on the 8th with the help of purifyweirdshard. I backed the PS4 version.

From what i read, it's only purpose is to display your name first in the credits. I went all digital, the backer id is useless ; everything to reclaim is on my fangamer survey. Thanks for the info, I was worried because I also didn't get any code yet for IGA as a boss in the game. I take it it still hasn't been released yet?

I'm still waiting for my game to arrive (unfortunately) but I just realized I shared my backer ID on a tweet hastily thinking that it was my order number. I've read a post here suggesting that we unlock backer exclusive content by entering our IDs as the name of our game file. Is this true? I've deleted my tweet moments ago now that I found out but there's no telling how many people saw it. I'm so confused, I don't think I ever read anything regarding this in any of the backer emails.

I hear the game runs on linux just fine... The way I see it you have two options: 1. The easy option: Sell your steam code to a friend or colleague. YOU WILL STILL GET YOUR BACKER REWARDS ON ANY PLATFORMS BY ENTERING YOUR BACKER ID WHEN YOU START A NEW GAME. 2. The less easy option: This game is not very hardware intensive, you could run it in a virtual machine with windows installed. I just realized I shared my backer ID thinking it was the order number, can people actually steal it?

I just seen this now and replied to them on twitter, they asked for my order number, I looked at my backer survey and I think I sent them the right thing but I don't understand it's like they don't even have my email anymore. I sent that over too. You should DM them (direct message) on twitter like they asked for just in case. I don't think it will hurt anything to have your order # public like that (I don't think people can steal backer IDs?), but regardless that will probably start the process. Sorry you didn't see it until now, didn't know how else I could/should contact you. You don't have to apologize I appreciate your help and you reaching them it's not like it's your fault. Clearly things didn't go as smooth in many regards since launch.

saberwolf94 Can you reply to that to make it easier for them to directly contact you? If you're not on twitter, then maybe that itself will work out, but I'm not sure whoever runs that account is one of the guys that sometimes stop in here (Fangamer Steve and Dangamer). Thank you for notifying them, I also left a tweet there like you instructed I hope I get some response soon.

Heya saber, Did you check your junk folder for any responses from Fangamer or from the shipping company? I too had to chase Fangamer. The game released locally in Australia on the 20th. I emailed them on the 26th. After a day they got back to me on the 27th and provided tracking and apologised for the delay. I then got the game yesterday in the mail with no slipcase. I believe my email was in the junk folder initially. You didn't delete their correspondence by accident maybe? Silver I just checked the spam folder and still nothing.

Hello, everyone I'm writing this with the hope that a moderator/high ranking member of the forum that has some access to communicating with 505 or fangamer sees this.
I backed the $300 tier during the original campaign with my primary system being the PS4 version of the game and I still haven't received it, the slipcase, or whatever was supposed to come with it (I don't mean the other backer collectables I know they're supposed to come later).
I was patient because I know that my country Cyprus isn't the most recognized in Europe and I'd probably be the last to get the game, but at this point its ridiculous. I haven't received it, any shipping confirmation email, I've contacted both fangamer and 505 about the issue, nobody is replying. Please, if anybody can contact somebody at 505 or fangamer I'd appreciate the help as there isn't anything else I can do and I'm very frustrated at this point.
