One minor thing I would really like to see fixed:
Miriam appears to have push-box type puzzles that allow her to reach higher areas. However, there is literally NO animation aside from her running against a box. Adding a push animation should have been a no-brainer; even as far back as Zelda A Link to the Past (SNES) or Resident Evil 1 (PS1) there were animations when your character would push or pull something. Like I said, it's minor but the game would look amateur without this basic feature implemented.

RedoganAlthough this is a unique situation, here's why no DRM is great: I used to work at a remote camp for a construction firm for three weeks at a time. While we did have electricity and a basic phone network, internet access was on a strict need-to-use basis due to excessive bandwidth costs. I imagine remote military bases must have similar restrictions. Trust me when I say that Steam's offline mode will allow you to play a game once or twice offline but you WILL get locked out after your third or forth attempt rendering your game (and account) suspended until you can log in again. With GOG or other DRM free options, you could play literally anywhere on Earth as often as you want without these issues. Had the Bloodstained Kickstarter not offered a GOG option, I would not have backed it.

I would rather have delays and a reasonably polished game than a rushed buggy one. The last thing I want to see is another Bethesda or Assassin's Creed Unity type launch.

- Lip sync is bad, specially for Miriam. Also, her mouth animations are kind of comical for how bad they are, lol. If they don't have time to improve them, I think they should just drop it altogether. No animations are better than bad ones.
I completely agree that still images work better than poorly animated ones. Otherwise though, I think the game looks great and I feel the voice actors did a commendable job (especially Ray Chase/Gebel). He came across as intelligent and thoughtful yet twisted and perfectly in character. It's neat to see the various improvements made since the last demo.

Thank you for the quick reply - I'll check out Fangamer to see if the link is available.
EDIT: Colour me embarrased. You were right; the code was on Fangamer. Thank you for directing me in the right direction!

Hello - it's been a while since I posted. I initially indicated that I would like to receive both the main game and the prequel via GOG. I then received a message that the prequel would not appear on GOG and would be available on Steam instead. I still do not have my Steam code for the mini-game. Does anyone know who I should contact?

Another idea just sprang to mind. Let's assume there are elemental based weapons (fire, lightning, etc.). There could also be a "whiff" noise for attacking something with resistances or immunities to a certain element such as using a fire sword on a fire demon.

So, Nakoruru is in the game and...she's vampire-themed with a pig bat. Seems relevant to us, doesn't it lol Good catch. Nakoruru always had an animal companion. I never pictured her as a vampire though but there's always a first. She would fit right in on this forum .

THERE IS SOMETHING ELSE I FORGOT TO SAY. They said they are working with PORTING the game now. That MOST PROBABLY means the game is complete.I think you only do porting after the game is done. But i may be wrong. I was thinking the exact same thing; porting is usually the last step in the process so the core game must be complete which is fantastic news even if it's not officially confirmed. Also Pure Miriam that was a great analysis and you caught many things I missed initially.
It's funny - I didn't think about Bloodstained too much since backing it in 2015 but the last few months have positively crawled and I eagerly anticipate each update. I cannot remember being this excited about a release in years.

purifyweirdshard For some reason I thought you Mods had an "insider scoop" on the game regarding what features would be included (don't ask me why I thought this since if I'm not mistaken you're not employees of ArtPlay or 505 games, correct?. As for the crafting system: I really like what I see so far. It makes perfect sense to have Johannes help you craft items and I think this role is an ideal fit for his character.

Yeah about crafting and forge and all that.. Its anyones guess, we have no clue. We know its in there but no details have been brought to us. I just think that if you kinda find 1 ingredient, you unlock something in that shop, since they now have the ingredient to make.. Potions or whatnot. A shop could be level-based only too, or just have everything on the go. Gonna be fun to know more about it.
Welp I guess I stand corrected. Someone mentioned that there will be cooking in this game so color me pink . I do like that Johannes will function as your alchemist; I find NPCs stand out more when they actively help you rather than simply existing to further the story.

I really like your sound-cue suggestion. Perhaps the "tone" could be deeper to indicate critical hits. Naturally the type of weapon sounds would vary - swords would "schwing" in different tones while hammers would have a different "thud" noise.

I think the atmosphere might well end up being all over the place, judging by the Japanese stage we saw. Some will be dark and gothic, but others will be more Eastern in theme, and who knows, some might even be whimsical. I recently finished Aria of Sorrow and it was my first time playing it. The "Inner Quarters" section for me was one of the most memorable; when you first enter you meet a maid who greets you with a polite bow before proceeding to attack. For whatever reason this made me laugh and stuck in my head since she appeared completely unthreatening and was jarringly different from the usual Castlevania monsters. Even her soul power-up gives you a demonic vacuum cleaner. I hope there are similar light-hearted enemies in this game.

The only game that springs to mind would be a sequel to Skies of Arcadia. That said, I'm honestly not sure if it would be good news if it was announced given Sega's recent track rate of "quality".

For God's sake Konami is run by collective of chimpanzees. Nothing they do surprises me now. They honestly seem averse to sensible (and obvious) good business practice. Just imagine how it must have felt for Iga and Kojima to work there... estebant - You hit the nail on the head. This is certainly worthy of appearing on the Jimquisition.

I think that's a great idea. I also really liked the special room in Harmony of Dissonance and it was rewarding to go from bare-bones alcove to opulent chamber over the course of the game. It would be especially cool if you could rest there. In addition, it would make sense to be able to use this room to craft items similar to how the workbench operated in the Fallout series.

I agree on the food guys, but its important to brainstorm too. Eventually some smart guy might come with a brilliant and fun idea, and helps perhaps out with creating a Castlevania 3.0, who knows? Food found already made is nice. I just curious about crafting, perhaps there will be enough of things to do with armor and weapons when we know more about it, so no need to take food into consideration. Sorry if my post came across as harsh - that certainly wasn't what I intended. It's hard to convey tone through text. I wonder if we could craft potions though? Normal potions such as health and mana would be nice but even ones that provided temporary buffs would be great (rage effect for 120 seconds and so on). Previous games had uncurse and anti-poison but it would be cool if they would expand the selection.

I think food could either be bought, dropped from certain enemies or found in barrels/walls/etc.
The whole crafting food gimmick reminds me of Tales of Symphonia: "Lloyd failed to make a sandwich". It seemed somewhat out of place then and I don't feel it would fare any better now.

It's been ages since I played Subnautica. My computer can barely run it so large creatures such as the infamous leviathans tend to "pop" into view when I'm on top of them. This usually results in my death.
Since Bloodstained won't be released for awhile I felt like trying other Metroidvanias and came across Aquaria. Released in 2007, it's fairly old and I had not heard of it despite it receiving good reviews. I cannot give much of an opinion on it yet since I just started it but graphically it is very nice to look at and the controls seem responsive.
