Maybe you're right. In any event, it should become clear in a few months once the game is released.

This may be a bit late to ask since the demo has been out for so long but what is the purpose of having more than one of the same shard? It appears we can carry up to nine of each but it seems that we only need one which can then be leveled up multiple times. Sorry if this question has be answered previously.

browren - I interpreted your offer as sincere and feel that it was a very nice gesture on your part. My guess is that 505 is reluctant to accept help from a third party even when it's free. If you mind me asking, are you currently bound to an existing employer or would you be available to subcontract your services to 505? It's possible that if you were "on their payroll" even for a token amount, they might be more willing to work with you since you would be operating in an official capacity. Again though, I'm not affiliated with 505 so take my suggestions with a teaspoon of salt.

I tolerate Steam but I love GOG and try to give them my business whenever possible. They just released Diablo 1 so I know what I will be doing over the next few days.

Ever since Bloodless was introduced, I never had the impression that she was anything other than a Vampire, due in no small part to all that blood she has control over. Despite possessing a Demon Shard, I don't believe she's a demon herself ( besides; if you used the logic of "because they have a Shard, they must be a demon"... then Miriam would be a demon too). And unless the "Mysterious Man" is also revealed to be a vampire (or "Alucard", as some theorize), Bloodless may be the only vampire character in the entire game. Your post made me think of the librarian in SOTN and his "catalogue" of enemies; I wonder if such a thing will exist in Ritual of the Night? Perhaps Dominique or Johannes (or even Alfred!) would provide this list complete with the enemy type (animal/demon/undead/etc) as well as HP, MP and common and rare drops.
Also I wonder if Iga's long standing rule is still in place that forces a boss' programmer to beat it perfectly before he gives it final approval to appear in the game.

So I just now finished creating what I'd call a Buer emote: purifyweirdshard What do you think? Is it THE Buer emote we've all been looking for? Well done - that's perfect!

I think the real problem is that no one is absolutely certain how many Linux/Mac backers there actually are; if you look at the Kickstarter comment section there are people who only recently are surprised that the Vita was cancelled and are asking what options they have nearly a year after the window was closed. I think (and this is just conjecture on my part) that 505 is afraid that the handful of Linux backers currently requesting refunds might balloon into several hundred or more once the game is released since there doesn't appear to be any way to differentiate between PC and Linux/Mac backers. I could be completely wrong however since I'm not in the loop...

ovenkitty - You're dead on the mark mentioning Yngwie Malmsteen. I hadn't associated him with Bloodstained before but he is a perfect fit for this game.
As for answering the original question: I never listened to other music while playing Castlevania. However, I would often listen to the Crusader No: Remorse soundtracks while playing Metroid since they gave off a certain futuristic dystopian vibe that felt appropriate.
Oh and Lepstadder - kudos for an excellent thread.

I'm very hesitant to buy a game which is "hyper-hyped". Paper's Please and Undertale fell into that category and I purchased both of them and thought they were alright but hardly worthy of the sheer volume of praise fans and journalists were heaping upon them. I have been cautiously looking at Hollow Knight but a good Metroid-Vania (in my mind) has distinct, clearly recognizable and above all unique areas and much of what I have seen in Hollow Knight looks too similar for my tastes. Navigating around the map must be incredibly confusing for new players.

I really wish this had a PC version! I'm quite late to the party playing this game and only finished it last week (so far have seen 5 of the 6 endings). Inti Creates poured plenty of TLC in this game and it's nice to see it get a physical release. I'm downright envious of console owners at the moment .

I couldn't decide on anything mentioned in the list but one idea in particular came to mind (which I got from recently playing RE5) - the game could have a colour filter such as black and white, sepia and a noise or grain filter to make the game feel like an old movie.

absorbnix - In no way did I mean to direct my message at you. In fact I feel that Mac/Linux backers deserve to be refunded. My point was that the Kickstarter comment sections is, for lack of a better word a complete "shitshow" with posters routinely attacking each other. The atmosphere between Kickstarter and this forum is night and day.

I learned to stay away from Reddit a long time ago. Even creative posts and wonderful ideas have in the past gotten downvoted to oblivion when I helped and wrote about another game, which I won't talk about here.
That's how I feel about the Kickstarter comment section - to call it toxic is an understatement. If I were Angel or Question, I would find it very demoralizing to have to read that bile day after day. Even great updates such as the release date reveal and the more recent graphical improvement comparisons were met with negative feedback from a very vocal minority who seem to enjoy drowning out anything positive. I really don't get it; backing on Kickstarter is like investing in many ways. Why the hell would anyone want to see something they invested in fail when it's in their best interest to see that the project succeeds? I could be wrong but it feels as if a few of the posters on the Kickstarter page almost display a certain level of schadenfreude sometimes.

I'm really impressed with this update especially the new look of Bloodless' face: she's both enticing but incredibly disturbing at the same time. I also couldn't help but notice how great the sky look during the "invert" video. The team have made great strides and I can't wait to see the final product. Well done!

I suppose I'm odd in that I backed the game within the first week of the Kickstarter launch then put it out of my mind until the release of the first demo and even then, I only really started becoming hyped after seeing videos of the 2017 E3 demo with its beautiful use of Gothic architecture. When Curse of the Moon was released, it dawned on me that the main game was probably entering the final stages of production and would hopefully be finished within a year or so.
Also, despite some project setbacks, this forum is generally very positive and welcoming and contributes to my interest in the Bloodstained series.

Believe it or not I actually still use a flip-phone. I wanted something simple and the salesman (more than somewhat sarcastically) stated that it was their introductory phone for seniors. I have no intention of changing it anytime soon .

There is so much stuff to do, collect and find that this game will turn into a paradise for completionists (and i am a completionist myself!) That pretty much sums up why I backed this project in the first place. This genre is hands-down my favorite, but nothing beats the feel of settling into a good, genuine Iga-Vania game. Some games have an almost book-like quality where you become so involved that hours simply pass without you even realizing it. I can easily see myself in this situation along with a quickly-cooling pot of tea and some instant noodles on the side to minimize down-time .

Pure Miriam - Thank you for all the high-quality screen-grabs. They clearly depict the many, many lighting improvements made to the game since the last demo. I suspect the next few months will seem to pass slowly as we all grudgingly wait for the game we backed to come to fruition.
