I've never been a fan of the blue outline aura ... looks tacky and defaces the appearance of the character. An full aura with around minimal opacity (up to about 5%) is fine with me but anything too bright and garish is, personally, a no-go zone.

I like to think that what we saw in the demo footage is still a work in progress and that the 'dropping through the platform' and the 'transparency' will be eventually ironed out. Don't get me wrong, the raw footage and animation looks terrific but the these two flaws need to be addressed because they're slightly off-putting. I don't recall Mirror of Fate having these particular issues and so I expect the same from Bloodstained.

I've always had a deep, inner belief that our consciousness survives after death. As I've got older, my interest in the afterlife, astral projection and ghosts has became stronger. Over the years, I've experienced many spooky moments ... from my first etheric projection to meditating and hearing voices enter my head as though someone or something is trying to communicate with me. I have always maintained that I have a raw psychic muscle that need refining.
One of my more spookier experiences happened around three years ago. I was sitting at my computer doing some work in Photoshop. Suddenly, I became aware that a presence was in the room behind me. I sensed it coming closer until I felt it leering close to my left shoulder. In the corner of my eye, I managed to catch a brief glimpse, what appeared to be, someone's head observing my computer screen as though it was taking an interest at what I was doing. Its presence felt like a very mild static breeze. As I glanced around, the phantom head made a swift exit and disappeared through my bedroom door. The presence was gone and I was left wondering to myself "What the f**k was all that about?" Since then, I've seen the odd shadow and, more rarely, a wispy cloud rapidly drift down my hallway. One night, I even woke up with the horrid sensation that some force was pinning me down on my bed and the one corner of my bedroom seems to have a cold spot.

Like some have already mentioned, a lot will depend on how the game pans out. I'm keeping my fingers, toes, legs and balls crossed that Bloodstained will make a sensational debut that'll spark a huge influx of new fans worldwide leading to a, hopefully, long-running series.
A resounding Bloodstained success would inevitably bring other IP's getting involved at some point I'd imagine. Bringing different adventures as evil disperses and spawns over the land to take up new residence in creepy locations would be truly exciting. I really do need an immersive Lovecraftian adventure!

It's a job that most of us, I assume, have dreamed of doing.
Whilst I've never worked in this terrific industry, in the back of my mind, I've always felt that my creative side is laced with a powerful desire make a mark in this glorious sphere. Have to add though, I have almost no programming skills! Even so, just being involved in a simple art project must be hugely rewarding for the heart and soul. That's why, I'm seriously pondering to propose something to the 'Attention Content Contributors' thread ... maybe a boss character.
Anyway, my interests and strengths are monsters. This is the area that I'd love to be involved in. Without being boastful, I have an impressive portfolio of fine drawings & rough sketches and a file of digital artwork of all kinds of weird entities. Some look ominously creepy, others downright horrific and a few with a streak of 'cute' somewhere in their design. I have what I call my 'elite' folder which is a limited selection of my favourite monsters created to the best of my artistic ability and twisted imagination ... these however, may never see the light of day unless I slap a proper copyright on them.
So, if you worked in gaming, what area would you pay particular attention to or specialize in?

Found an old piece of art I created many years ago when I first discovered Photoshop ... a three-headed monster born from molten glass by an evil spell.

They may come across as a bit underwhelming because the creatures are still a work in progress. Once they're tweaked and polished up a bit, they'll be just fine.
Seama - Love this one. My first impression is that this ravenous amphibian appears as though it might be able to leap a fair distance. Looks somewhat like a cross between a long-finned Koi fish and a Tooth Fairy from Hellboy ll.
Dullahammer - Looks brutal, rock-hard, mental and unpredictable. Adore the spiky/thorny armour. Wonder if he'll be able to generate enough centripetal spin on his crazy head to actually elevate himself off the ground as a last resort if he finds himself losing his fight?
Morte - As one or two members have replied, this bubbling creature has 'zombie' written all over it. Its body looks like oily, magnetic thinking putty. Moves creepily enough. Could several of these meld and form a bigger enemy version? This monster has potential.

I love outdoor areas because it instills a feeling of escapism and mischief but, simultaneously, casting a lingering cloud of uncertainty no matter how one explores these areas. To put it into another context, it's similar to taking a break/lunch time at school/work that allows you to go outside and enjoy a bit of freedom before going 'back to the grindstone' so to speak. This is why the outdoor areas in Order of Ecclesia appealed to me ... traversing the spooky Tristis Pass was a challenging escape but the foreboding castle was always playing at the back of your mind. However, the thought of being confined to an enormous hellish castle in Bloodstained is absolutely daunting and hardcore. No puny break times here (apart from a wee bit of 'me time' in Miriam's Room) ... just pure nightmarish exploration and the anticipation that death is just a corner away. Aw ... I'm already crapping myself! I guess I always felt that when they made outdoor environments it took away focus from designing a well constructed castle. It lingers in my head that Order featured so many outdoor locations that the castle feels underdeveloped. So I think my reasons for not wanting much OUTSIDE the castle is I want the development team to focus on cleverly designed locations within the castle instead of focusing so much on the outside. There's ways to make really cool outdoorsy environments where it fits within the castle and doesn't take attention away from it. Dawn and aria had an outdoors environment but the focus was all spent making the castle so they're pretty well designed. Orders it felt more like an afterthought probably because the bigger focus on locations outside the castle There are a number of outside areas from Order of Ecclesia that could've been incorporated into the castle itself to make it far more intimidating. With a few smart tweaks here and there, Giant's Dwelling, Minera Prison, Monastery, Mystery Manor and Skeleton Cave could've been seamlessly melded into the castle design to give it extra menace and greater substance. With a title called Castlevania, one does expect everything to take place within a castle. So, from that perspective, Order of Ecclesia came across as a missed opportunity to make a really memorable castle rather than having the layout scattered around in a number of outdoor environments. Nevertheless, OoE was a very pleasurable experience but still fell way short in comparison to the supreme Symphony of the Night.

Directoire knickers sprang to my mind at first but, after googling them, I'm somewhat off the mark. Still, Victorian underwear appears closer to pillowcases than knickers.
I suspect Goobsausage will rename Miriam's Room ... Bloomer Boudoir.

Seeing "Armors" on the list makes me think of how would Bloodstained fit in living armor design's, like would they be a classic knight armor corrupted and given life from the crystal curse. like half the armor looks normal then the other side would have exposed with the stained glass crystals, or something that looks like this armor from dark souls 1. I love the idea of this ^^^ ... it'd blend in great with the Bloodstained story. Actually, it's kind of reminiscent of how an insect gets attacked by fungus...

This is just a "for fun" poll and a real "official" poll will be held later right? I only ask because there are clearly a bunch of monster types that are missing from that large poll we collected from everyone's thoughts a while back (and maybe formatting can be cleared up a bit? I dunno). This is just common enemies and not bosses right? I'm also curious what "Aliens" mean since I imagine that would be a group that's especially variable (and also kind of scifi-ish). Are we talking little green men with huge heads and bug eyes? I left out bosses on purpose because, let's face it, a boss can be any of the 40+ selections that are on the poll. Dracula is a boss but he is still a vampire. Death is a boss but is still a hooded entity. Legion and Menace are bosses but they'e amalgamations. There's always a good, inspired reason to make a boss out of any common creature/enemy. Aliens are anything that are not of this world so to speak ... not just little green men with bug eyes. Funnily enough, when I first thought about putting Aliens in the poll, the initial alien that sprang to my mind was The Thing from the film of the same name ... a vicious, parasitic life-form that hides inside its host before mutating. To quote Einstein "Imagination is more important than knowledge" and this kind of applies, in particular, to aliens (as well as other enemies) on this poll.

Werewolves are hybrids, so I just picked hybrids. I like this poll. Stuff like this is great. Sure the choices just come from the mind of one individual, but I think it's still useful. I would have picked more than 30 if I could have. Whoever chose clowns can go have nightmares about them tonight... same goes for including the option to vote for them in the first place. No clowns please... no clowns. Yes, some of the choices do coincide will each other. While werewolves are indeed hybrids, they have their own place in horror culture and are popular for many folk hence why many films and stories are made about them. So in that respect, they do need their own vote. Regarding clowns, it's surprising just how much some people get freaked out by them and it is quite a common phobia ... more then some people think. I watched a film many years ago called 'Killer Klowns from Outer Space' and the clowns themselves looked rather creepy. To me, the zany appearance of a clown and the heavy, queer make-up seems to leave a curious impression that something ominous may be lurking beneath. That's why I added clowns to the list. Incidentally, if someone does feels the need to vote for witches, then choose Sorcerers/Wizards since they're the same type of enemies bar different sex

Shamelessly inspired by XombieMike 's Castle Design and Miriam's Room poll, I've decided to create a poll listing 40+ enemies/monsters. Some of the choices fit into certain categories to break down, what would be, a list that'd go on next to forever Possible examples - If a Griffin is your idea of an enemy, then you'd have to vote under 'Hybrid' because a griffin is half eagle/half lion. Succubus under 'Demons' ... or something such as a mixture of a curry, an ebola-infected rhino and a giant oyster would go under 'Amalgamations/Mutations' ... but hey, I'm sure you get the drift! You can select up to 30 choices. Choose carefully and may the force be with you!
