New Update: Thorani Redesign and Gameplay Overview Thorani was my favorite of the Incarnations revealed and I'm glad to finally learn more about her. She excels at healing and meter management but does so in a super interesting way and looks fabulous while doing it. Her animations look super sweet as well (though that's par for the course for this game LOL).

I feel modern standards for collections have been raised recently with the MegaMan (X) Legacy collections. As such I feel this is subpar. Only two games? It's still something nice for those who haven't played these games before (though that would be mostly Rondo as you can find SOTN everywhere) but I expect much more and I'm disappointed. Konami isn't putting in the requisite effort.

Interviews from Gamescom. Not a ton of new info but a nice look at the newest version of the game:purifyweirdshard You had to pay attention (maybe more than was fair to be expected) but they weren't hiding that some of these Incarnations were playable and some weren't. They said that coming up with all these Incarnations at the time of the campaign wasn't the plan initially and was done to hype up the campaign to encourage people to donate. So I figure they probably weren't 100% sure who would be playable and who wouldn't (or sure for some Incarnations and not sure for others) at that point. It should be noted that many of the incarnations shown that aren't playable still have a good chance to end up as NPCs in Ajna's Inner Realm. For example, Vasco is set to still appear in the game but as an NPC. They confirmed that I think a few weeks after the Latigo reveal.

Hold on. Am I the only one who noticed that Nintendo didn't show off Richter's Final Smash? I know the vast majority would say "It's the same as Simon's... but with different colors." I get that and I agree that is the likely thing but there is a logical falacy to that. That is not the only option Nintendo has. Maybe, just maybe, Richter's Final Smash is Hydro Storm. We already have a "Hurt everyone in the screen" FS thanks to Olimar+Pikmin. Occam's Razor denotes that Simon and Richter should share a Final Smash. This is especially true because Simon's Final Smash is just a variant of Richter's Cross Item Crash. Furthermore, there was an explicit reference to Hydro Storm in the Castlevania trailer. If Richter had Hydro Storm as his Final Smash, they would have just shown us that, not obviously reference it in the trailer.

I've heard of the Vergeben name before and I'm pretty sure they are full of it. They've gotten too many things wrong for me to buy they actually have insider knowledge. Some of the things they've suggested are things one could reasonably infer/guess/suspect on one's own. I wouldn't put too much stock in their rumors.

I've been super busy the past few weeks so I haven't been able to post much - hopefully its not too late for my comments to be useful. Anyway, what I wanted to focus on what Miriam's idle pose. I feel its somewhat off-base and could use a tweak. Specifically look at the circled portion below: This is not how people strike the "one hand on hips" pose. People don't raise their shoulders this high. It looks awkward and it also makes Mirim's shoulder and arm look very small? For reference, below are how people naturally strike this pose: If you make this pose yourself and look in the mirror, you'll get something akin to these real life examples as opposed to what you see in the game. I know it's not the biggest deal and I have no idea how hard/easy this is to tweak but would it be possible to tweak Miriam's pose so its more realistic? In general this was a good choice for a pose - it conveys a lot (positively) about her attitude and personalty. That shoulder region though is just.....not correct. I'm going to respectfully disagree. There was nothing strategic about it in SOTN, it was just annoying. If you need to add more depth, challenge or complexity to the boss fights or other such encounters, just improve the enemy AI or attack patterns. Making healing items more clumsy to use doesn't feel like the best/appropriate way to go about it for a game like this. It never struck me as a concession for handhelds when it was changed, just a streamlining of gameplay and bringing it more in line with how most other RPGs handle healing.
